Sorry for my english, can I ask you some questions about your Strangetown save file?

Well, first thing: THANK YOU, maybe I'm late for the party (I found it only a week ago) and I think it's perfect! You also inspired me to download an emulator and play The Sims 2 for PsP for the first time!

About my questions... In your save file, your sims like Deputy Duncan, are already included as townie?

And try to resurrect late Hazel's housbands is safe? Will they can back like in your sims download?

Chet Crawley, Dixie Stills, and many others are roaming around Strangertown as townies.

You can resurrect Hazel's exes without fear; I made Gordon, Elliott, and Barney as full fledged sims before axing them so all their data is there.

So happy to learn that new Strangertown players are still out there!

Hi, I’m playing with your PSP Strangetown and I love the amount of details that you put into it! I was wondering if it’s normal that there aren’t any tombstones in Olive’s garden?

Confirmed not normal! Please use HoodChecker to clear out potential bugs and corruption! Strangertown was packaged clean.

Friendliest of reminders that our beloved Sims 2 game is destined for corruption just through normal game play. So, it's not yours or anyone's fault if your game gets borked from time to time <- this is a hard lesson to learn! Thankfully, most of these problems can be resolved with HoodChecker.

It's probably overkill, but personally I like to delete Accessory.cache and Groups.cache files (in My Documents > EA Games > Sims 2 folder) then use HoodChecker at the end of each play session to help keep things running as smoothly as possible. (I also found that clearing cache helped with load times but that might just be delulu.)

Hi Chris, let me first say that I LOVE your Stragetown PSP/DS/GBA lot and characters recreation. Everything is SPOT ON!

I have a question for you though. Did you ever play CONSOLE version of the game? It has parts of Strangetown, at least part of enviroment and some lots. Did you play console version of the game? Did you ever thought/attempt to recreate Strangetown lots from console version?

I have not played The Sims 2 console version, nor do I aspire to~ (she said in her best fancy jackassery voice, not unlike Astarion from BG3)

Terrible joking aside lol, I'm simply not interested in playing that version of the game so without that experience/etc I wouldn't feel capable to recreate it in TS2. Sorry!

Update!

I downloaded each map to review their folder contents, and I can happily confirm that everything appears normal. (In response to downloading the GBA/DS map and finding no files at all. The PNG and SC4 files are there!)

I also put the GBA/DS/PSP "full" map that I recently downloaded (re: above) into my game to test it, and can also happily confirm that the map works as intended:

So, I'm sorry you've experienced trouble but I can't seem to find any issue on this end. My advice is to ensure you don't have any duplicate .SC4 map files in your EA Games > The Sims 2 > SC4Terrains folder.

This is so nice (and reassuring!) for you to say, thank you! I keep a pretty clean game with minimal CC, but I guess you never know...

As I understand it, the Super Hug Bug is something you can prevent; if you have mods installed to prevent the spread of the bug, you don't see it. I always think "it's like herpes!" from a quote found in THIS helpful post.

The Pink Flamingo Bar, updated for 2024!

Among a lot of little tweaks and upgrades, the biggest changes include more space and functionality. No more backwards bartenders!

...but updated or not, it is still recognizably The Pink Flamingo that locals love.

This new edition of The Pink Flamingo was made in a squeaky clean Pleasantview so you can download safely with minimal Super Duper Hug Bug threat. The original 2018 version may be infected despite my best intentions. I advise to only download this cleaner copy going forward!

Special note: redoing this lot gave me the chance to see how much the original has been downloaded (3000+ times!!!) and I'm just so humbled to learn that this little local bar is a part of so many of your Pleasantviews. Thank you so very much, and I hope everyone continues to enjoy karaoke night on Tuesdays! ;)

Pleasant Cemetery: Rest easy knowing where you will be resting forever.

I made a cemetery because I'm feeling strangely optimistic I'll keep my current save of P-view and I needed a place to put graves. I'm sharing because I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, hopefully you guys like it too! :)

Some explanation for grave placement: I organized the lot based on how I typically play my Pleasantview, so you'll notice grave markings to match who goes where (see also pic with useful name guide). I didn't include Goths because they have their own private graveyard (which in my game includes Michael Bachelor, Don Lothario and Lucy Burb), and since Darleen Dreamer is already buried at the Dreamer house there's no need for space here.

Obviously, please place graves wherever you'd like and take what I have here as simple suggestion. Note: You may want to load the lot to remove the random items/my markings so it's less junky for playing lol!

Santa’s Retreat

What will the kids do on this little holiday trip, you might ask? Fear not, as Santa’s Toy Store and Workshop will be sure to keep the kids entertained for hours! Planes… trains… and automobiles…. Oh my! While parents and grandparents shop around for that one special gift, the kids can let their imagination run wild at the train table, zoom around remote controlled hot rods and helicopters or perhaps find something fun in one of the toy chests! And for parents who are just as much kids like their own, they can head upstairs to Santa’s Workshop and learn how to make their own toys… oh, the simoleons that will be saved this Christmas! I am super proud to share my DeadTree recreation from TS2 PSP on Sims 4! I tried to recreate the mysterious atmosphere of the original, while adapting to TS4 environment, and of course hiding secrets here and there… I love hiding secrets in my builds !

I am a huge fan of the PSP version of the sims 2. I used to love playing with @chrisnewbie amazing recreation (until my old computer died and the new one don’t make TS2 run anymore). I’m so glad the latest pack For Rent allowed to create a full neighborhood on one lot !
