is your hair dye Punky or Directions Alpine Green? It's totally amazing btw.
Well, initially it was Directions Alpine Green. Right now, I've layered quite a few colors on it, so it's not really just one thing. But thanks! I really like it like this.

And the best picture by far. That's me up in the foreground. I completely wiped out. Those are my poles and ski in the background. Also in the background is Kristi, who fell from laughing so hard at my misfortune. Gotta love it.

April 6: First Time Skiing.
So. I figured that living in Austria meant that I had to go skiing at least once. I started having my doubts about the whole thing when thinking about learning to ski here in the Alps. But, the opportunity came up and I couldn't say no.
Kristi met an Austrian guy on the train back from Venice. They've kept in touch since then, so he invited us to go skiing with him and a friend. Kristi somehow convinced me to go and it was decided. I woke up at 4:30 am on a Saturday morning. Headed to the train station and caught an early morning train to the town he lives in about an hour out of Vienna. From there, we hopped in the car with the guys and headed to the ski resort.
Now, let me just say, these guys go skiing a lot. And they're quite good. Even Kristi and our friend Frances had been at least a couple times. I literally have never set foot on a ski slope in my life. So I was expected a lesson and some little baby hills for a while. Nope. These guys told me to point my skis inward to slow down and then just told me I had to try it.
So we head out. I'm doing ok for a little while. Not falling at least. And I thought, wow, maybe I won't fall at all. Totally wrong. Totally. As soon as we get to a hill that's even a little bit steep, I completely lose control of my speed. I don't really know how to slow down, so I just go zooming past everyone and completely wipe out.
Which was fine. It didn't hurt. I soon came to realize that this place was not the type of place where you ride a lift up and then ski back to the bottom. Nope. Once you start, you're up in this labyrinth of ski slopes. There's no turning back. So these guys take us on the bottom level slopes for a while. And I fall, but not too much. But then we start going on intermediate courses. Let me just say, intermediate courses here and not the same as intermediate in the US. These slopes were so steep and the fog was so thick that you couldn't see more than 10 or 15 feet in front of you. I was literally terrified. But somehow, I made it through them all.
All in all, it was a really fun and funny day of skiing. I am really, really proud of myself for pushing through all that and at least finishing it all. And now I can say that I went skiing for the first time ever in the Alps!

Oh hey! Haha. That's awesome. I'm having an awesome time over here. It's been amazing so far.

This is probably SO random, but what dye did you use to get your hair that dark green? I've been looking for a dark forest green color for MONTHS
Not random at all! I bleached my hair down to a light auburn/red sort of color. And then I used Alpine Green by Directions.
