These are all the logos for the different “lands” in Disneyland, from the 1982 Disneyland Guide Book.  Took a bit of Photoshopping to get them all clear of obstructions, although I left the Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square, as it was pretty bare bones without it.  It’s the only “land” that didn’t merit a Mickey Mouse appearance!

Disneyland Historic Fact #2
Real, Live Mermaids!
Tumblr media
For a couple of years in the 60′s, Disney hired 6 young women to play mermaids and swim in the Submarine Lagoon. They would greet the Submarine voyagers underwater in their fake tails and sea-shell bras. Alas, all good things must come to an end. Largely credited to young men who were too eager to watch the women (one even jumped in and met them), Disney stopped hiring mermaids.
Submarine Voyage was closed in 1998 and replaced with Finding Nemo Submarines.

Disneyland Tip #1-Faster Lines
Choose the right line! When split between left or right, the choice isn't always clear.
On Pirates of the Caribbean- the left line is longer, but the right line shares with the handicapped line. On busy days especially, choose the right line.
When waiting for Indiana Jones- When heading up the stairs, steer left, it is almost always faster!
During Haunted Mansion- The left line looks shorter, but they tend to even out.
On Splash Mountain- Go right! It looks longer, but is slightly faster.
When in line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad- You don’t have a choice, boo hoo.
And on Space Mountain, Star Tours, and Autopia- There doesn't seem to be a difference. Choose whatever your heart desires!

Disneyland Secret #1
There is an exclusive club hidden within New Orleans Square. Club 33 has been around since 1967. Originally intended as a place where Walt could entertain his friends and business associates, it is now open to the public. However, most cannot afford the steep joining fee of $25,000 (with a $10,000 fee each year). Many celebrities are rumored to be part of the club including Tom Hanks, Christina Aguilera, and Elton John. Membership includes entry into the park.
