Although this has nothing to do with his birthday, I made a short manga for today.

⚠️ Some notes:

Supposed to be komahina, but it's only slightly implied.

The story is based on my post-DR3 headcanon, so if you want to see a detailed explanation, please see my earlier post.

The story begins when Hinata's team (though only Komaeda and Hinata appear in the manga) finishes defeating the remnants of despair in an area. I hope you enjoy it!:

Komaeda said in the killing game that I didn't care when I died or that you could kill me without hesitation or anything like that, but I hope that after he wakes up from NWP, he will say, "This is the life Hinata-kun saved for me, and I can't just throw it away," or something like that. (And I want him to talk about it on his own, even though no one has asked him about it. 😄)

I mistakenly thought this was an original character from the Elfen Lied anime when I visited this profile. Still interesting read.

Oh! I'm sorry for the misunderstanding! My name and the image of my profile pic were supposed to be some kind of cross-references of many things that had some kind of significance to me (including elfen lied, I admit). I never thought that it would be interpreted this way, but I totally get how it can be seen as an oc now that you mention it ^^'

Maybe I should change my name if it leads people to false assumptions... how sad T-T but thanks for letting me know!

Thank you!! 🥰 Well, like every comic project I mention, I just need to find an idea for a plot that I really like and want to spend time with ^^ !

I really like what you said about both of them considering the other like a weirdo (but different types of weirdos!). They're just very similar and very different at the same time, so it's very easy to imagine them interacting and becoming closer with time. (I think thats why I like Komahina too: they seem to be antagonistic, but they're also close to each other and they understand the other like no one else does). And they're adorable indeed!

Here's a very quick sketch, I didn't have much time to do it so it's a bit cranky but I wanted to share it anyway haha

I had noticed someone who looked like Reimu here, and I thought maybe these pages were the drafts of "The Grimoire of Marisa". (I don't know if you know about it, but there is an official book of spell cards that Marisa supposedly wrote!)

Actually, the contents of this book gives me an impression that Alice is somehow special to Marisa. It may be hard to understand in the English translation, but Marisa calls Alice in a slightly different way when she calls her. On the explanation page for Alice's spell card, the main text refers to Alice as Alice, but the remarks section refers to her as "こいつ(koitsu)," meaning "this girl", "this person", or something like that. Marisa speaks a little boyishly, and the term "koitsu" is also boyish and a little rude.

Also, in "Touhou Chireiden ~ Subterranean Animism", there is a line where Marisa calls Alice "おまえ(omae)". The English translation would just be "you", but this is also a boyish way of speaking. The word itself is a term that Marisa uses all the time to refer to her interlocutors. The funny thing about this line is that it reads "omae" even though the text says "Alice":

In Chireiden, Marisa can also team up with Patchouli or Nitori, but then she will call each of them normally, "Patchouli" or "Nitori" respectively.

Some might think that Reimu is the person closest to Marisa, but I personally think that Marisa is a little more distant from Reimu than she is from Alice, because she recognizes Reimu's ability. Marisa acknowledges Reimu's power and is even a little afraid of it. (Sometimes she thinks that it would be bad to displease Reimu.) Of course they are very close, but I personally don't see them having a relationship where they are more than friends.

I suspect that Marisa is a little ruder to Alice than she is to others because she thinks of Alice as "her girl". 🤭💕

There are many other things I could say about Marisa and Alice's relationship, but I wanted to share this with you because I thought it might be difficult to understand these nuances in the English translations. I hope you have enjoyed reading this! :)

Thank you so much for all these observations about the japanese version!! It's very interesting and it helps me understand them much better, I always struggle to find the games well-translated and even when they are, the japanese language just has a lot of subtle nuances that we can't really translate in english anyway, so I just feel a bit left out sometimes when I'm a fan of some japanese stuff x)

I really like Marisa as a character, and I totally get how she would become much ruder with someone she actually feels closeness to. x) And yes, I totally agree with what you said about her and Reimu, and I think that this distance created by their mutual respect really contrasts well with her relationship with Alice. (I like to believe that Marisa mistakes her admiration for love, and struggle to understand what she feels for Alice, being like: " Yeah no I bring her and complain about her all day but thats because I can't stand her, by the way how is she doing? " but I just really like when things are a bit dramatic and complicated I guess!) I'd like to make other drawings and comics related to this someday.

A derivative Touhou Project revision in the works

This project has lots of name candidates so im calling it "Anarchy" for short. I also call it "Y2K Touhou" sometimes lol

Anarchy is my most ambitious project of mine, about my vision of Touhou. or revision, or an alternate universe. or something

My vision of it is like, if Touhou was more modern. Like the shinto themes will still be intact, just alot of things will look and maybe even feel modern.

Itll be a revision of the story, its characters, basically almost everything.

Anarchy is inspired by alot of stuff, mostly Y2K themes and aesthetic(s). Some inspirations include Sonic.EXE and creepypastas (you heard that right.) and 2000s-early 2010s media, with a sprinkle of recent (mid 2010s-2020s) media.

This is also i guess my practice for writing and character designing? I forgot the word. I say it is my most ambitious project because one of the reasons is that im not a native english speaker, so this will be interesting too :P

x Anarchy will also include a new story, acting like, the "final boss" of my writing journey (that is this project). Youll see why when i reveal it. Theres some hints on my social media about said new story too (even this paragraph has a clue too!!!!!!!) and it will also include some new content too!!!!!!x

So yeah, alot of stuff for this project has been planned, and i only have a few amount of progress done. I aim to finish (or atleast have a good amount of progress) this project by atleast the end of 2024 or before I graduate school.

oh yeah one more thing. All touhou related art with my Anarchy redesigns from this point on will include the #anarchy fantasy tag for better organizing or sumn lol

I've read fanfic where Nagito is jealous because he feels that Hajime thinks (remembers) about Chiaki at various times, but the idea that Nagito might feel guilty is new to me.

But it is true that Nagito might feel lonely or inferior, thinking that Hajime's awakening as Ultimate Hope was thanks to Chiaki and not to him. In my opinion, Hajime is likely to be depressed and mentally unstable even after 3, but Nagito might be afraid to see Hajime like that and speak harsh words to Hajime. Then he would think that if Chiaki were here, she would speak kind words to Hajime and regret that he himself couldn't do the same later.

However, in my personal opinion, what Hajime needs in the post-3 world is someone like Nagito rather than Chiaki, because Hajime has too much 'can do' due to the power of Kamukura's talent.

Chiaki has the mindset that if you do it, you can do it, but post-3 Hajime can do too many things, it will cause him to worry about where to start, and he will become impatient and overwhelmed by the need to use his talents.

Nagito has a very pessimistic view of things and (unless the other person is very talented) has no expectations of the people around him. And he might also have pessimistic opinions about Hajime, for example that he is basically an ordinary man, even though he has the power of Kamukura. But without people around him who think like that, Hajime would think that he can do anything he sets his mind to and try too hard at everything, which would probably lead to his self-destruction. So I hope that at some point Hajime will realise that he can control himself thanks to Nagito being there for him, and that by telling Nagito this, Nagito can gain a little confidence that he can support Hajime from a different perspective to Chiaki's.

Hmm, I may have somewhat forced the story into my interpretation 🤔 Well, at least I don't think Hajime would ever actually wish Chiaki had been here instead of Nagito, and he would rather strongly feel that he doesn't want to lose Nagito as well, even though losing Chiaki was sad enough. I hope that Hajime's feelings will be conveyed to Nagito at some point (for example, when Nagito is dying and Hajime is very desperate to help him) and that he will want to do something for Hajime instead of feeling guilty.

To be honest I think it'd be really sweet one way it could be resolved is that Hajime has to say that he loves Nagito and that he wouldn't replace him ever. Sure, he misses Chiaki and loved her but his love is with Nagito and he's so happy even if Nagito's beliefs and mindset are troubling to understand or bad for Nagito.

Like Hajime would have to be like, "Hey, I loved Chiaki, yes, but I love you and I wouldn't replace you for anything. You aren't taking her place" just like try to get it through Nagito's head lol. And maybe Hajime would believe that regardless in some way him and Nagito would fall in love and be happy if nothing Despair ever happened.

They definitely both don't want to lose each other, Hajime having already lost Chiaki, and Nagito having barely any reciprocal relationships besides Hajime and everyone dying around him due to his luck gives a lot of "I don't want it to happen again" for the both of them.

They're different people after Dr2 that experience and trauma of a killing game does a lot to you and at that point of growth, Hajime being him and Izuru, and Nagito having grown a bit more they are really perfect for each other imo.

Hi, I read your pinned post and I'm excited to know that your favourite game is Super Hexagon! It is a bit nostalgic for me, but I love the music in this game.

Hi, yeah I totally agree, Super Hexagon's music is so great! The composer (Chipzel) also made songs for a game called Spectra and they're all really worth listening to, especially the one named after the game. ^-^

Anyway I was very excited to draw Nue Houjuu because I find the mystery behind her character and her powers so interesting! I wanted to make a drawing based on how I perceive her as a very concealed and mischievous person, I hope you like it, have a great day as well <3

Another future foundation komahina drawing!

I like to believe that since the Kamukura experiment, Hajime's hair grows extremely quickly; and because he couldn't stand having strands of hair getting in the way, Nagito volunteered to trim it for him when it gets too long. Hajime gets bored very easily, so he hates having his hair trimmed, but Nagito loves having him at his mercy and giving him silly haircuts during the process to drive him mad.
