Chara and Frisk have different opinions about the correct course of action.

Chara respects frisk a bit too much to actually do anything other than complain and occasionally argue about it.

RF!AU worldbuilding.

Someone enabled my character rant in the replies so here it is under the cut LMAO

Mainly i really like taking the idea that titles and names reflect how others see you, and that in turn affects how you see yourself. But like. Make it have lasting consequences.

I see ghosts as just, fragments of their past selves. Most of what remains is whatever strong emotion is anchoring them. Chara’s a bit special (having gotten a few monster souls before death and having quite a bit of DT) so isnt completely your typical ghost, but I think the rule still applies to a degree. Chara, unlike most ghosts, is not a fragment and hasnt actually forgotten anything.

But the less relevant the memories are to their current state/anchoring emotion, the more faint it is. So. Chara basically starts off consumed by grief (and rage). Everything unrelated to that is a faint memory, and theyre mostly channeled into the betrayal and anger that comes with it.

And then they get labeled ‘the angel’ by one of their early hosts. Hosts at this point are all mages chara has kind of, forcibly taken over to a degree. Theyre not compatible, so its killing the hosts, and chara’s mentality seeps into theirs. And it kinda, drives em up a wall. This one in particular already had a vendetta against monsters, esp since they just got sealed recently, and just. Connected the dots (that don’t exist) and gave Chara their new title.

Which. Uh. Becomes what they're known as to all the other humans that can’t see em. (only hosts can see em)

And since chara’s now seen as resentment, revenge, and all that, thats what they become. They become less and less human, and more a embodiment of rage and revenge.

Until frisk becomes their host, and eventually starts talking to chara. And actually asking them about their past, which, slowly drags them back into being ‘chara’ and not ‘the angel’.

ITS FUN. ITS VAGUE CONCEPTS. BUT ITS FUN.

Ive been playing through deltarune ch 2, and Ive been thinking about Reverse Fantasy again. Ive managed to actually come up with a semblance of a real plot for it this time?

Well uh, about that. This might get a bit long.

You see, theres a bit of an issue with the blind!frisk au. I did mention it before somewhere, but Ive somehow managed to misplace my entire plot direction for this AU. I still know generally where i want it to end up but I can't. remember the character arcs. And this story's pretty much entirely driven by character arcs so uh, its really hard to continue writing/drawing for it without the arcs figured out.

So im n a bit of a pickle!

I could just pick it up again and go back to just writing whatever comes to mind as I go along, but I feel like that might make the ending I really want to arrive to kind of. Loose its point? Impact? And I really don't want to do that. This comic has turned into something of a love letter to the game and I really would like that to come across.

So! TLDR; I lost the plot and im trying to figure out what to do. Maybe I just have to rewrite the rest of it from scratch. Maybe ill just write as i go. I don't know yet, I kind of want to do this AU justice.

(meanwhile my backburner project of reviving my other au, Fonttale, has been moving along so that might be happening soon. Maybe. Maybe not.)
