The ultimate power move in a vampire/fairy rivalry would be the fairy inviting the vampire over for tea. The vampire has natural dominion over anyone who invites them into their home, the fairy has natural dominion over anyone who violates the laws of hospitality, and neither can refuse the appointment without showing weakness, so it’d just be a constant headgame of the vampire trying to manoueuvre the fairy into a position where the obligations of hospitality allow the vampire to eat them, and the fairy trying to trick the vampire into doing something that would allow the fairy to declare them a poor guest.

| your standard vampire |
spider climb walls
summons wolves, bats, rats, insects, etc.
assumes gaseous, bat, or wolf form
regenerates quickly
upon “death”, the vampire must assume gaseous form and retreat to their resting place
immune to non-magical weapons
fatally vulnerable to running water and sunlight
held at bay or repulsed by garlic and holy symbols
paralyzed by a wooden stake through the heart
if the stake is blessed, the vampire is instantly killed and turned to ash
may not enter a building or structure without being invited
leaves no shadow and/or reflection within a mirror
strong vampires (the sire) may create other vampire kin (the childe) by feeding their blood to the receiver, but it is not innate to all vampire kind
may also create ghouls or vampire spawn with their blood (usually giving by force)
two vampires drinking each other’s blood may form a telepathic bond (the receiver and the transmitter), or the transmitter may be able to control the receiver for an amount of time.
| biology |
no real metabolism
does not need to breathe. assumed to be able to survive in a vacuum, in the deep sea (as long as it isn’t running water) or an airless crypt
some may not be able to eat food at all and will regurgitate it, others may be able to mimic or consume food (though it provides no real substance)
immune to noxious gasses
vampire blood, when in view of sunlight or UV light, will immediately turn to dust. when held up to other light sources, the color of the blood may change (ex: the color of gold, silver, etc.)
once the vampire is destroyed, the blood becomes inert.
sneaking up on them is virtually impossible
immune to exhaustion, pain, and exposure to dangerous natural elements. they may be able to survive an explosion and can reform their entire body at will under great amounts of energy and time, which may make them go into a blood frenzy.
immune to healing magic
some vampires may never age, and some may be stuck as ageing and withering corpses over the years. others may age a little, eventually stopping, or may slightly reverse in age.
very hideously strong and agile, gaining strength as the years pass by. usually avoids combat but will fight back if necessary. some creatures (due to the passage of time) may be alienated from humanoid desires and interests.
