When I tell you, this woman is BOLD
First she appears like her whole life has led up to this moment where she pops out of nowhere to retrieve the man of her dreams
Iâd be so embarrassed⌠but hey props to this queen
This had no business being that funny đ
She really went âMOVEâ and yeeted Mirabel off the screen, then basically told Mariano that she high key stalks him âŚ?? đĽ´
Iâm assuming Mariano is used to the bizarre idea of this family having magical powers, so thatâs why he didnât feel bothered in the slightest when learning this new information. Just a guess
And after that chaotic dinnerTM, I donât think anything could ever surprise this dude ever again if weâre being honest
Then this man pulls off a reverse Frozen without the evil trope.
*chefâs kiss* a match made in heaven
BONUS:
Mira and Chavela being the best wingwomen

Since I didnât want Julieta to be left out⌠also, Iâm not aware of her dancing in the film much so I guess this counts
The Madrigals dancing
Dolores is so elegant and graceful (Isabela better watch out).
Meanwhile Mirabel is just vibing even though she has no idea what the heck is going on. A whole mood, sis
Yeahhh move them hips girlll, throw them petals đ¸
Pepa and Felix are like perfection. If my marriage isnât like this I donât want it.
I swear, they both have what in Colombia we call âsabor.â Their moves got â¨flavorâ¨
Can I just say, the way Camiloâs ruana cooperated with his moves was just đ¤đ˝ perfection??? Also them hand gestures, yes boy!
What about Mirabel?! She was just vibing to everyoneâs parts and there are too many instances of her dancing that I wish I could fit them all ahhhh
The Colombian-ness is just beautiful. Get it, Luisa đŠđđ˝
No matter how old you are, the groove is in your DNA. Abuela Alma ainât joking
AgustĂn, ily
Pepa and Felix again cuz why not. Pepaâs side of the family is somehow particularly gifted. They got MOVES.
Antonio is on a whole other level of cool rn. Own it, king đđ˝
Of course, the most iconic musical number đđ˝
That lady be twirling her dead fish around đ
And again, Pepaâs kids are SO talented. Look at Camilo moving those hipsâShakira who???
My mami gonna catch me aggressively placing the glassware on the dinner table as I attempt the choreography and quite possibly break the glass
You didnât think I was gonna forget about best man Bruno, right??
Look at that majestic twirl â¨

YESSS please, I just had a rant about this. Bruno needs his apologies!
âł Madrigal Apologiesâł "Let's all talk about Bruno!!"
He may be able to predict the future, but he sure couldn't predict this! Since they didn't apologize to him in the movie, this is my Head canon.
Fight me if you have any issues about that. â¤ď¸

Mirabelâs âno gift basketâ had the Colombian flag colors and also the achiras (a common snack in some regions)
Not to mention the arepas.
When the Madrigals are eating breakfast, they also eat huevos pericos.
small cultural & Colombia/Latin related details from Encanto đ¨đ´
the flowers on Isabelaâs dress - cattleya trianae orchids (may lilies), national flowers of Colombia
Camilo snapping his fingers when he is excited
Mirabel using her lips to point
flowered balconies (like in Cartagena)
ruanas (ponchos) that Bruno and Camilo wore
Doloresâ âsqueaksâ
inviting the whole town/neighbourhood to a party
sombrero vueltiao - traditional Colombian hat
Isabela being covered in the colors of Colombian flag (đ¨đ´) during her song
and many many more!
(this is for all the people who still say Encanto is not about Colombians ; sorry about the quality of the gifs)

I donât think this has been said enoughâŚ
Or maybe it has and Iâve just been living under a rock, BUT
Brunoâs series of apologies to Mirabel for simply interrupting her abruptly.
Like you donât understand. This man has been led to believe he needs to apologize for merely existing!
He talks to Mirabel so softly and the one moment where he was like âoh no Iâve raised my voice slightly with Mirabel, I must now apologize a few timesâ like PLSSS
He looks so scared for telling her sheâs missing the point.
Like Abuela, and the rest of the Madrigals who slandered the absolute crap out of Bruno (*ahem* Camilo), let this man have a break.
In fact they all owe him more apologies than a simple âhey, welcome back after 10 years of knowing absolutely nothing about you, lolâ (excluding Dolores for obvious reasons)
At this point, the entire community of Encanto owes this man a series of apologies.
Please and thank you.

I just thought about this butâŚ
Something I absolutely love about that part of the âWe Donât Talk About Brunoâ song in Encanto where they all sing together is that they all didnât just superimpose pre-recordings of their individual parts from earlier in the song.
You can distinctly hear Camilo singing the last ââŚhe sees your dreams and feasts on your screamsâ in a different melody. Also, he doesnât have that rasp in his voice anymore like the first time when we were all hit with the âsEVEN FOOT FRAME, rrATSS ALONG HIS BACKâŚâ
You hear Isabelaâs âAnd Iâm fine! Iâm fine! Iâm fine!â which I think is fantastic that it foreshadows how Brunoâs prediction for her seemed positive but not to her
Dolores has variation of melody and sings along to the âIâm fine!â part in a lower tone compared to Isabelaâs high-pitched singing. This is pretty awesome and a good complement because sheâs in love with the man Isabela is supposed to marry, and neither of them are fine even though they pretend they are
We still have Pepaâs same melody and lyrics because her part is pretty much the backbone of the whole song
Felixâs part was just a bit different in melody as to complement Pepaâs part
On a side note, I wish Luisa wouldâve had a part in this song, because I know full well sheâd have nothing negative to say about my man. But sis was NOT having it, she looked so sad while everyoneâs just vibing (even Bruno himself) to the Bruno diss track
Anyway⌠Iâm probably looking too far into this, and Lin Manuel Miranda probably had them do that so it would sound right when all the parts were together, but it doesnât take away the fact that it was pretty freaking cool okay

Little things I love in Encanto (Careful spoilers)
The member of the family that is talked about in The Family Madrigal being more saturated than the rest in the wall painting
The embroidery on Mirabel's clothing
Every gift somehow being represented in the family's clothing: Herbs and hearts in Julieta's apron, suns in Pepa's dress and little lightning bolts on her headband, hourglasses on Bruno's ruana, flowers on Isabela's dress, soundwaves all over Dolores' blouse and skirt, dumbbells on Luisa's skirt, chameleons on Camilo's ruana, butterflies and a lot of other things on Mirabel's clothing, (not so sure about Antonio-)
The butterfly symbolism all over the movie always in connection to Mirabel
AgustĂn's little flower
FĂŠlix never being mad at Pepa with her clouds and being a supportive husband: (To Antonio): "Look at you all grown up!" - "Pepi, amor, you're gonna get him all wet!"/ (To Alma): "I'm doing my best!" - "Yes!" - "You're lucky it's not a hurricane!"
Dolores' little squeaks
Dolores covering her ears whenever it gets loud
Dolores hinting multiple times that Bruno is still in the house
FĂŠlix giving Antonio a thumbs up for telling his animal friends to warm up Abuela's seat
The metaphorics in Surface Pressure
Luisa being a softie
Luisa fixing Mirabel's glasses
Pepa covering the stuffed animals' ears when saying "when I heard the name we don't speak of"
The way FĂŠlix lights up when talking about their wedding day
The umbrellas the characters in the background have being in the colors of the Colombian flag
Isabela indicating that the apparent perfect life she has now is not the one she actually wants/not the life of her dreams in WDTAB: "He told me that the life of my dreams would be promised and one day be mine."
"He told me that my powers would grow like the grapes that thrive on the vine" - Foreshadowing
The hand movement during Isabela's part of the background characters and Camilo being the only one to look at his hand either for more dramatic effect or in a "what the heck am I doing" kind of thing- can't exactly tell both is perfect for him
THE CHOREOGRAPHY WHEN THEY ALL SING TOGETHER
AgustĂn just stuffing Bruno's vision in his pockets
Bruno knocking on wood, throwing salt over his shoulder and avoiding the cracks on the floor as Mirabel is talking about his vision to prevent bad luck that he thinks he and his visions bring :(
Antonio giving Bruno his stuffed jaguar he got from Mirabel, proceeding to lean on an actual jaguar with the sentence "for the nerves" - what a chad
AgustĂn saying he was trying to protect Mirabel when confronted by Alma with the vision
Julieta's development of standing up for Mirabel to Alma. From her gently asking Alma to be more gentle to Mirabel before Antonio's gift ceremony to saying "You were always too harsh on Mirabel"
Isabela's melody in WDTAB being reprised in What Else Can I Do by Mirabel
Isabela being ashamed when Alma sees her - in a "ruined dress" and messier hair - with Mirabel after What Else Can I Do
The metaphoric with Alma's "The cracks started with you" to Mirabel because the family did start to crack (more) when Mirabel didn't get a gift.
Camilo and Isabela trying to get the candle but loosing their powers mid air and being caught by Casita
Julieta and AgustĂn fighting Casita to get to Mirabel as Casita is crumbling and trying to get the family out
Julieta yelling "Mirabel leave it!" as Mirabel is still trying to get the candle
The entire encanto breaking along with Casita as it is part of the miracle too
Pepa's "Antonio don't cry, don't cry" afterwards
Camilo's incredibly easy to overhear line: "My powers they're gone I don't- what about Antonio? What's he gonna do?"
Dolores trying to use her enhanced hearing to find Mirabel only to realize she no longer has it
The difference of Alma and Pedro's story in the beginning and towards the end
The constant reoccurring of "open your eyes" between Alma and Mirabel. Abuela Alma opens the movie with saying it to five year old Mirabel, Mirabel sings it to Alma in Waiting On A Miracle in a desperate, frustrated tone, in the flashback scene at the river Alma says "I lost sight of who our miracle was for", shortly after Mirabel says "I finally see" after recognizing the butterfly from Bruno's vision, Alma singing "Open your eyes - Abre tus ojos" to Mirabel in All of You
Pepa being the first of the sisters to hug Bruno
Not reduced to Encanto, happens in musicals all the time but the melodies of Isabela's part in WDTAB and Surface Pressure and The Family Madrigal reprising in All of You
Camilo trying to spin the shovel Mirabel gave him, dropping it and checking if Mirabel saw it
The doorknob
The M on the doorknob can stand for both "Mirabel" and "Madrigal"
Mirabel standing in the middle in the front door as she is the one holding the family together
Isabela and Mirabel being Dolores' wingwomen
A deep blue being the main color on Isabela's colorful dress making her fit in more with her parents and siblings
Pepa's and Julieta's love for their children
Feel free to add more :D

special thanks to @sanktnikolais â for editing my messy thoughts, i adore you
As a Colombian woman, it really warms my heart to see how many people are loving Encantoâall the positive reactions and the praise the movie has received not only from the critics but from the audience in general make me happy beyond measure. I, as well as pretty much everyone in this country, have always resented the negative representation we have had in the media.Â
For instance, âNarcosâ is one of the best examples of this hurtful representation that continues to profit from some of the darkest moments of recent history, events that we all would like to bury in the past.
Nonetheless, the discourse I have seen about Encanto, especially on Tumblr, has disappointed me greatly. Most people have focused on coming out with headcanons about the charactersâ sexuality and gender, or writing Camilo x reader fics (do you realize heâs a teenager? please stop) shifting completely the real focus of the movie. Listen, I am not going to tell anyone what to do or to gatekeep these characters. The fact that you think Isabela is a lesbian doesnât bother me; what Iâd really like to remind people of, specially queer white folks, is that this movie isnât for you.Â
This movie was made first and foremost for Colombians and Latinos. Therefore, when a movie like Encanto, which excels in every aspect and has finally given us the representation that we have been dying for, gets its every valuable aspect outshone by these woke and for the most part ridiculous takes (Bruno is autistic bc the knock on wood thing? Tell me you are white without telling me you are white.) It is expected that people like me wonât feel happy. Â
That being said, in this post I want to tell you about the amazing job Disney made at representing the armed conflict in my country and what this representation and the song âDos Oruguitasâ mean for Colombian people.
