the issue is that this is inherently subjective and I, personally, would not include asking why Dean isn't flirting at a bar as "gender policing" but okay

and it's like. it's so clear that you're a Dean fan (which is fine! we have our faves!), but you have categories about his nightmares and how often he's attacked and specific types of sexualised violence-

and none of these for Sam

and that just makes all your "data" laughable to me when this bias is so obvious

trying to formulate a thought but it's genuinely weird that people only want to discuss masculinity and maleness in general when it comes to dean. you get appeals to writers, begging them to let him break the mold of toxic masculinity, to let him be bisexual, to have him show more affection, etc but i never see the same for sam. sam never gets praise from this group for embodying what they want from dean either, i still remember the guy who claimed spn was anti-masculine because dean was 'not allowed' to be as emotional as sam. i don't know if this is an issue of hating sam and not wanting to talk about him, or if certain people straight up don't see sam as a man. i talk about womancoding so i'm not innocent either but it's so fascinating how it seeps in unconsciously.
