(( I never claimed it was *good*, just that I stumbled upon it and was like "Holy crap, I forgot I used to try and animate". Maybe if I had stuck with it... Also, FYI, everything on that account was made when I was 14/15. Some of it is probably dumb. I don't have access to the account anymore, as I think I made it with a non-gmail account from before Google bought YouTube. ))

((It does make me incredibly nostalgic, though. Back in 2011/2012 it seemed like there were SO MANY ask blogs, and so much potential. The best days of the MLP fandom, in my opinion. When you would just be out and see someone with a Pinkie Pie shirt or whatever and just acknowledge each other and "brohoof".))

(I will try to draw as many ponies as I can for this. Please don't feel bad if I get overwhelmed if this somehow gets a huge response and I don't draw your OC, as I'm sure we will have an opportunity to interact in the future! If you have a particular thing you want to be doing, like dancing or chilling on the balcony, you can DM me ideas, otherwise I'll probably just draw you doing general social party stuff. If it helps to set the scene, Frostfire's apartment is in Ponyville, and the party will be during the evening/night. Her apartment kinda just has me make up and draw rooms as needed. xD)

Comparison of the very first post to the old Go-Ask-Frostfire blog made in May of 2012 to the redraw I made of it for this blog in July 2019.

Blog Artist Ramble / Some History of Go-Ask-Frostfire Ahead. ---

I like to think it's a good improvement! The biggest improvement, I think, is that I can freely draw these ponies without a reference now, thankfully. Back when I first started the askblog, I would find a clip of the show on YouTube and pause it when a pose I wanted to draw came up, screenshot it and paste it into MS Paint and look at it the entire time I drew my OC in Paint.NET (also, I use Clip Studio now for smoother lineart and other such stuff). Or I'd use that Pony Maker on DeviantArt to pose a pony and reference it. I guess I still haven't learned shading between then and now, though...

I really regret deleting the original blog. My friend got me into the pony askblog thing after he started his, and I had a lot of fun at first. A few months into it, however, it became me and him being harasses constantly by a bunch of anonymous people (or maybe it was just one person who would do it both on throwaway accounts and anon asks- who knows?), which was a lot for super anxious then-15-year-old me to handle. Obviously, I would just ignore it now, but as a kid, some of the harassment/threats (I was actually threatened a few times based on how I drew My Little Pony characters- crazy time in the fandom) really got to me. He deleted his askblog, and I followed soon after in 2013. I may post art of his OC too, though, from time to time.

I never stopped drawing her, though, and there are whole story comics revolving around then-current-season events (season 2) that never got posted even when the blog was running, and a lot of original stories made after too (mostly that I drew during my classes instead of paying attention like a good kid). I still have a lot of those in lined notebooks that might get re-worked and posted, however out-of-date they might be now.

Ah, man, that was a long post! If you actually read all that, thanks!

TL:DR:

For those who don't wanna read the wall-of-text (I don't blame you): Pretty much, I wish I didn't delete the original askblog. Also there are a lot of comics I drew that take place during then-current season two that may get finished and posted anyway despite being 8 or 9 years out-of-date. I like rambling.

I have a picture from when I attended the Grand Galloping Gala. I think I look dressed up here! Actually, this was also the outfit I wore to the first Tumblr Pony Prom I went to (2012), with some minor adjustments, because I liked it so much! I can see if I can find that picture too, if you would like!

And a version without the Gala background, to better see Fostfire. I meant to attend this (last?) year’s Tumblr Pony Prom again, but I would probably just have Frostfire go by herself, seeing as my partner hasn’t had a pony askblog since 2012 and it would honestly feel a little weird to have her go on a date with anyone else besides his character.
