1)there are a couple of historical texts that say exactly this. That Adam would not submit to Lilith, and that's why she left. And therefore the next woman, eve, was created of his ribs so as to always be a part of him and in submission.

2)it was a pilot. Pilots almost always differ from the show that we actually get

3) the story told is from Charlie's pov. Ofc she's going to focus on her parents. Not to mention, it's a very unreliable narrator. This gives us an idea of the world, but definetly not any major definitive proof of how it all actually went down.

4) I understand where you're coming from in the last point but there are different forms of pride. Believing too much in oneself is pride. By following his own ideals and ignoring the words of god, that was ultimately his own downfall.

5)helluva boss kind of exists in the realm of cannon but not completely imo. Like, it's happening in the same world buttt it's clearly more vivzie while hazbin is wore polished, and you can clearly feel different creators with more influence pitching in, so some things might naturally change. Though I still think it's a tad bit too early to say for sure yet

So the first two mins of Hazbin Hotel have been released, and it's pretty mediocre to me. Lucifer is a misunderstood Angel who was banished because uh...he gave the Fruit of Knowledge to Eve, and the fruit was somehow cursed, causing evil to corrupt Earth. As a result, Lilith and Lucifer were banished to Hell. For some reason, Adam is a controlling male, which doesn't make any sense to me, but okay, and while Lucifer didn't like Hell, Lilith actually thrived in it. As a result, Heaven became afraid of how rapidly Hell was growing, and to prevent this, they started killing Sinners yearly.

So there are a couple of problems with this, the main one to me being the first two minutes of the first fucking episode already retconned a major piece of info from the pilot. That being the Exterminations started because Hell was overpopulated.

So now the writers changed it because Heaven is now afraid of Hell's power, and I'm wondering why they're afraid in the first place. They were capable of casting out Lucifer, who is the strongest being in Hell. Why are they afraid of Hell becoming more powerful as time goes on?

And this also raises the question of the Seven Princes of Hell. Where are they??

They were Angels who fought alongside Lucifer, resulting in them all becoming Fallen Angels, but for some reason, they're just not mentioned at all in this backstory. I get that Helluva and Hazbin are different shows, but they're not even hinted at.

This entire video also kinda leads to the idea that Lilith is a true baddie of the show because while Lucifer was wallowing in his self pity, Lilith was actually thriving in Hell and for some reason became a popstar. It's extremely sus that she's actually thriving in Hell while Lucifer isn't.

And my final issue with these first two minutes is Lucifer himself. He's characterized as this outcast who is creative and stuff instead of a prideful Angel who never bowed down to humans.

They removed the Prideful aspect from the Sin of Pride.

So yeah this show is..already a mess and it's already two minutes into the first episode.

Tbh hazbin hotel by itself isnt that bad when it comes to representing women. The problem is that Viv's reputation proceeds her.

So we are immediately more alert to small discrepancies that wouldn't raise a brow in other shows.

Like just counting the named characters there are 6 women(Vaggie, charlie, Lilith, velvet, carmilla and nifty) and 10 men (Adam, Lucifer, alastor, husk, angel dust, vox, valentino, zestial and Sir pentious, Jeff(one of the egg Bois)). That in itself isn't a big issue, but then when paired with how the characters are developed it can worry some.

I think it's fine so far, especially since there are other writers in the show(clearly lmao) but yeah I totally get why some people are already raising the red flags.

If it ends up anything like what they're doing to helluva boss I will cry.

Do people who are saying Charlie isn’t the main character/the male characters are getting too much attention… do they… do they have eyes? Ears? A brain?

As a woman, I can tell you right now that the cast of women in Hazbin is one of the best I’ve seen. They are all fucking gorgeous. They’re independent. They’re unique. They get complex personalities and stories. They get BANGER SONGS. I love each and every one of them.

Are you going to look at her and tell me that I’M WRONG??

If it's not free then I pirate everything on principle and then after, once I've consumed it, if I like it enough I'll buy the actual thing in physical to support the artists/authors.

Cause otherwise it feels a bit like giving a fic a kudos far too early only for you to end up hating it and by then you can't take it back anymore.

"Idk how to write Reddit posts, but I want to ask someone about something before I make a blunder on AO3.

There is a fic that I'm absolutely enamoured with, but it's been 4 years since they last posted. It's genuinely one of my favorites things ever, and at 300k it's already long enough so I really don't want to push the author, but they said in their last update that one or two chapters were all that were left to finish.

If they just didn't have time for it I'd understand, but I know that they aren't completely out of fandom stuff because I still see them post other fics regularly.

Now I know urging someone to post a new chapter is rude, especially since they're doing all this from the goodness of their hearts and for completely free and so us readers are in absolutely no position to ask for anything, but what if I offered to pay them?

(I'm a poor college student so I could only do a certain amount lmao, but I'll think of it as a sort of early Christmas present or something. )

So my question is, if you were an author and you maybe abandoned a story, would you guys think it was rude If some rando just offered to pay you to write the rest out of nowhere?
