The help and support of friends is crucial in a project like KORUA Shapes. As a thank you, we organized a weekend camping adventure on a mountain pass that lies only minutes from some of Europe's best resorts. Most guys showed up in camper vans, others simply planned to crash in the front seat of their cars. The idea was to spend some quality time in good company, enjoy a couple of beers, test out some new shapes and have as much fun as possible, all while filming a new edit along the way. Using the excuse of having to gather more footage, we ended up doing several more of these trips throughout the spring.

Brinkworth Captures the Sound of Supreme in San Francisco from brinkworth design on Vimeo.

Ten years after creating Supreme’s London store, design studio Brinkworth and the Wilson Brothers have again worked in close collaboration with Supreme’s brand owner to deliver the latest store, in a carefully restored industrial building in San Francisco’s Mid-Market neighbourhood.

Central to the concept for the store is a skate bowl which is suspended from the existing structure of the building, leaving the meticulously crafted underside exposed. As Adam Brinkworth puts it, “The bowl is like a huge speaker. Getting immersed in the thunderous sound of it being ridden makes my hair stand on end.”

Inspired by the roar of the bowl and the unmistakable noise of skating the city, Adam conceived a film which would capture this dynamic soundscape in the context of the local urban fabric. He commissioned his longtime friend, client and collaborator Phil Young of The Mighty Mighty to direct and, with skate legend Dan Magee behind the camera, created a video which uses a powerful soundtrack to celebrate skateboarding in San Francisco through Supreme skater Lui Elliott’s journey from street to store.
