for those of you who are curious & would like to keep in contact with me, feel free to dm me for my main. I won't be posting it publicly as I feel the need to verify everyone who I'll give it to for my own comfort & safety but I'll keep my dms open for a few days just to give a chance for that if anyone cares enough <33
after some deliberation over a very gray area submission I received (in regards to my boundaries for this blog), I am going to close the ask box. I'll let the queue run, but once it's out, it's out. I've enjoyed running this blog, I hope you all have liked it as much as I have <33

jewish culture is your native language being english but living in israel and always speaking half english and half hebrew and saying random hebrew words with an american accent (especially on holidays or in classes that are more religious) and everyone is just looking at me like “why aren’t you saying it normally?” BECAUSE IT’S JUST NATURAL I CANT I LITERALLY CANT SAY IT ANYWAY ELSE
(sorry if it sounds aggressive i just needed to get it out there. i know there are probably some other people who understand this struggle. please tell me they exist. please.)

Jewish culture is being married to a man who refuses to go to the doctor even though you’re 85% sure he has gout and when the pain in his toe becomes too much to bear, he finally goes to the doctor and you ask him what the doctor said, he sheepishly tells you it’s gout.
Oy. You can’t make this stuff up with our people. I swear.

Jewish culture is putting your magen David under your shirt when you go horseback riding, not necessarily because you feel like you have to hide it, but because there are a lot of things for it to snag on and you're worried about the chain breaking

jewish culture is my goy friend told me her school did a seder (she goes to a catholic school) and it wasn't a "complete" seder -- they took out a lot of stuff, replaced some stuff, etc, but she's complaining about it/telling me that it was bad (she has little to no knowledge on judaism/our culture + traditions) and being So Uncomfortable and Upset by her sitting here and telling me in all the ways that this seder her school put on sucked...

Jewish culture is hearing a (Jewish) friend say a holocaust joke and being horrified, bro we're in front of your grandpa who's a holocaust survivor? a little respect???
but then hearing their grandpa laugh and tell another holocaust joke.
Jews really like dark humor, I guess.

Jewish Culture is being 9 years old, sloppily putting together the most outrageous hamantaschen, with chocolate syrup, peanut butter, sprinkles, and food coloring, because that one hebrew school teacher wanted the kids to be creative
