🔹 Someone else's fiction cannot cause you physical harm.
🔹If someone else's fiction is causing you emotional or psychological harm, or distress, you can put it down and not read/watch it.
🔹Your emotional well-being is not the responsibility of fiction writers.
🔹Someone else's fiction is not about your personal trauma.
🔹When reading or watching fiction, you always have the power. You can always stop. You are never reading fiction without your own consent.
🔹Fiction writers are not responsible for other people's mental health.
🔹The content of a piece of fiction does not reflect on the morality of its author.
🔹Just because someone writes about bad things happening, doesn't mean they want those things to happen.
🔹Don't like? Don't read.

i have such a love for characters who descend into madness or villainy out of deep, deep empathy. characters who fundamentally cannot cope with the cruel realities they find themselves in and blow up about it in spectacular fashion. fallen angel type characters with tears of outrage in their eyes. characters who break before they bend, and break so badly they splatter blood all over their noble ideals. every variation on it gets me so good

Kicking a hornets' nest rn but like. Retcon's aside, if I found out that random scientists stole my DNA to make a clone of me and a guy who actively hates me while I was dead (having died saving the world no less) I would very much NOT consider that clone to be my kid.

New poll because something isn't adding up and it's been a topic lately. Maybe we can get to the bottom of it.
Clarification because I should've worded differently: "Yes" means you are fine and 100% okay with it.
So the option 'no for comics yes for fanon', is like saying fanon can do whatever im cool with it. Its not saying fanon MUST be that way.

I actually agree with all of this. I just want to clarify that I never said that her becoming Oracle isn't important. I also love it when stories let superheroes retire naturally, be it with them quitting altogether or progressing to something new.
I genuinely don't think that it makes sense for Babs to be Batgirl right now, both for her character, the erasure of disability representation and also just the fact that there is no reason for DC to have 3 different superheroes with the same moniker running around doing the same thing.
I mean, while I also agree on Barbara needing to go back to being disabled I feel like the whole "I only care about Barbara when she's in the wheelchair" is... icky to me? Barbara was a good character before the killing joke happened. Her time as Batgirl matters both to her character and the dc universe as a whole, especially the Batman mythos. She might have not been as good of a fighter as Cass (no one is as good as Cass) but I feel like a lot of people present her as incompetent, which was never the case?
Also like... Babsgirl was a mistake but I still think that she (and every other female character) deserves to be in character and have good storylines, even if DC is hellbend on keeping her around as Batgirl.

Begging people to stop reblogging this AI trash from “The Phantom Painter” on Instagram (instagram.com/phantom.painting). I’ve been seeing it on my dash more and more often from people who are otherwise anti-AI and either can’t tell it’s AI or don’t care because it looks cool.
This is the kind of shit that is VERY CLEARLY trained on the works of existing talented artists’ with distinct styles and this asshole is selling prints and making a profit off of stealing other people’s hard work.
Don’t give people like this money or attention and they will go away.
Please, if you’re going to buy art prints, buy them from an actual artist.

i make a lot of posts to the tune of "you're allowed to be horny btw" because it's becoming increasingly clear that adults being sexual in (clearly marked and blockable!) spaces is being stamped out and made out to be evil both legislatively and in the moral zeitgeist, especially among younger folks. not even in the "wait to be a horny adult online when you're An Adult" way, just an ingrained puritanical outrage response to *anything* that isn't chaste wholesome perfect all-ages allowed. it's unnerving and scary.
