Two?
LAW X READER! FLUFF! (Please send more requests! 😭😭😭🙏🙏)
“So… let me get this straight…” you started as you stared at the scene in front of you. “You went to town to Finn’s some herbal medicine, and met a witch doctor…? Who tried giving you a deal on some ginseng, but you told her she was scamming you. So in response she… used her devil fruit power on you…?” You asked. “Well look at us…” the two captains said as they stared at you.
“I mean I can see the two of you, but really? You messed with a witch doctor and she split you into two,” you said as you tried to hold in your laugh. “This seriously isn’t funny (Y/N)-ya,” one said, annoyed by your expression. “I had to buy the ginseng from her to reverse this… but she said this won’t reverse back until it’s been 24 hours,” the other one sighed. “That’s crazy… so she did end up scamming you,” you laughed. You quickly shut up once you saw the dark glare coming from your captains.
“This kinda sucks… I planned the whole day for us,” you sighed. “You did?” They asked in unison. “Well, our anniversary is coming up and I was hoping to surprise you with a fun day,” you said. “Well we can still do it,” one of them said. “O-Oh, uhh… so… who do I go with?” You asked. “Me,” they both said. You watched as they quickly glared at each other. “We both know I’m the original one, so I’ll be going with her,” one of the Law’s said as he pulled you towards him. “Whatever, come here (Y/N)-ya. Let’s go,” the other said as he reached out for you.
You were stuck in the middle of the two, feeling the intense pressure in the room. “H-How about we all just go together…” you sweatdropped. “I guess,” one of them glared. “Fine…” the other one sighed. You let out a sigh of relief, “But before we go we have to make changes,” you said as you jumped out of their hold. You ran over to the closet, “I need to tell you guys apart, or this’ll get super confusing for me,” you pointed out. “So, you get to wear a navy sweatshirt, and you get black,” you said as you handed the shirts to them.
They shrugged and quickly changed. “Now… do I call you Law 1 and 2?” You asked. “No,” they said in unison. “Umm… Oh! How about I call you honey and babe, since I usually use pet names,” you smiled. “Alright,” Law (babe) said. “No, babe sounds more lovey than just honey…” Law (honey) glared. “Jealous?” The other saw smirked. You sighed, “Alright then… you’re dear.” “Better,” Law (dear) smirked. You rolled your eyes and you all headed to the destination you had planned.
Carnival
“A carnival?” Law (babe) asked. “Yes! Cause I wanted to try to win you this!” You said as you pulled both of them towards a carnival game stand. It was a ring-bottle toss game, but the prizes were giant polar bears. “Doesn’t it look like Bepo?” You asked them excitedly. “It does,” the two said as they stared at the bear. “Can we get 6 rings?” You asked the vendor, he nodded and handed him the money. “Ok, babe and here dear, try it!” You grinned. You handed them each 2 rings and you all tossed them, kissing each bottle. “I didn’t realize how hard this would be…” you groaned.
“Well if you want I could just give you a bear, my treat,” the game vendor winked. “Oh really? That would be-“ you suddenly felt a dark presence behind you. “No thanks,” Law (babe) said coldly. “We’ll win her one,” Law (dear) added, as the two glared at the poor vendor. “T-Thanks for the offer…” you said softly. “10 rings each,” they both said as they slammed money on the counter.
“Laws… we’ve been here for 30 minutes… I had other stuff planned…” you groaned as you watched your boyfriends struggle with the carnival game. “I almost got it,” they both said as they tossed their last ring. You watched as they both completely missed the bottle. “This stupid game is rigged!” Law (dear) shouted. “You just suck,” Law (babe) sighed. “Like you’re any better,” Law (dear) responded. The two glared at each other, you sighed and decided to go find a cotton candy vendor.
“Thank you!” You smiled as the vendor handed you a large cotton candy cone. You turned to see your boyfriends, looking disappointed. “No luck?” You asked. You noticed the two avoided your eyes, as they held out their hand. You noticed a small polar bear in each hand, you quickly tilted your head in confusion. “The vendor said we spent so much money that…” Law (dear) began. “We automatically get a small polar bear,” Law (babe) finished. You stared at the bears and began laughing. You clutched your sides as you noticed the two blush at your reaction. “How much money did you spend?” You asked in between laughs.
The two blushed even harder, “That doesn’t matter! Just take it!” They said in unison. “Thanks… I love them,” you said as you wiped away your tears. “So what’s next?” They asked. “Well, I think we’ve been here long enough. Come on!” You said as you dragged them to the next location.
“Alright we’re here,” you smiled. “A park?” Law (babe) asked. “Mhmm, follow me,” you said excitedly and lead them to a secluded spot with a picnic basket. “Come on, I planned a small picnic,” you said as you walked over to the picnic table. The other two rushed over and fought over who would sit next to you. “How about we just sit on the floor in a circle?” you sighed. You laid a small picnic blanket on the grass and you three sat in a small circle.
“Here you go babe, here you go dear,” you said as you served the two a small lunch. “Thanks (Y/N),” they said and began eating. You watched as the two calmly ate their rice balls and enjoyed the slow breeze. You giggled softly. You all finished the lunch and quickly packed up and headed back to the submarine.
“Today was… an interesting day,” you laughed. “So, is that the end of your itinerary,” Law (dear) asked. “O-Oh… well…” you trailed off, feeling your face heat up. The two stared at you. “U-uh yes, yeah I guess that’s it,” you said as you avoided their gaze. “Ahhh,” the two hummed as they looked over at you. “Haha… so I guess I’ll see you tomorrow when you turn back into one,” you laughed awkwardly as you tried to head to your room.
You were quickly stopped with a hand on both shoulders. “No, it’s fine,” Law (babe) said. “We have to finish our anniversary itinerary,” Law (dear) added. “Umm…” you gulped. They said as they dragged you down to his bedroom.

Duty At The Expense Of Desire
Pairing: Trafalgar Law x reader
Content: mild cursing, lots of arguing between reader and Law, reader is nervous to be in a relationship, platonic luffy and reader <3, reader loves the strawhats a lot :)
Word Count: 2.2k
A/N: i spent so long just rereading this, i don’t know why but it feels kind of hard to understand? so i might revise it again in the future idk yet! i hope you enjoy reading, again this is very very loosely based on kate and anthony’s season in bridgerton! it was originally going to be 2 parts, but it’s looking like a full on series now… lmk if you want to be tagged in future parts! enjoy! <3
Part 2
Now that your feelings for Law have been revealed- not only to him but to yourself- you find the tension between the two of you is undeniably different from before.
What were once looks of contempt now harbor some quiet desire. Chances of accidentally brushing shoulders when you pass by each other are avoided altogether, for fear of fueling a fire neither of you know how to deal with. And any crass or biting quips are cut out of your minimal interactions completely, as you both now feel they come off as flirtatious rather than standoffish.
A few days have gone by since you confronted Law and he admitted his true feelings for you, all of which have been spent at sea. Nami says there won’t be an island to dock at for at least another three days, given how the weather is slowing the ship, so your crew’s only source of entertainment is each other.
“Y/n,” she asks while the two of you along with Robin relax on the deck, “what happened between you and Traffy the other day?”
Your breath hitches and you cough unnecessarily, already giving away your nervousness to the two very observant women. “Uh, not much.”
“Well, what did you two talk about? You didn’t come back to the table after, so I thought you must have stayed together…” Robin smiles softly, baiting you to reveal more.
“What? No, no, oh my god no… We just…”
Nami urges you on with a sing-song voice; “You just?”
“We… talked.”
“Talked about what?”
“I don’t know. Our issues with each other.”
“And you resolved them?”
“Come on, y/n, tell us what happened!”
“Nothing happened.”
You stand up then, too annoyed to continue talking to your friends. It’s not even their fault really; you would want to know what had gone on too, if the roles were reversed. Maybe you’re just annoyed with yourself for not being able to face your own feelings.
~
With no particular destination in mind, you find yourself in the Thousand Sunny’s library. When you open the door, you see Law browsing the selection of books your crew has accumulated throughout your travels. You shouldn’t be surprised to see him, but you are.
That’s what it must be; what other reason could there be for the sudden raving of your heart and your breath hitching? Any feelings you ever had for him were buried deep inside after last night; too deep to allow yourself to feel them to the extent you were currently, and so these must all be signs of surprise.
You steel yourself and walk in, letting the door close behind you. Law looks up to find out who the person intruding on his studying is, but his eyes are blown wide when he makes eye contact with you. Neither of you speaks as you turn away and cross the room in quick strides to another section of the library.
“Stupid Law,” you think as you try to calm your mind- an impossible task when he’s standing anywhere in the same room. “Stupid weather,” preventing you from getting to an island so you can get some damn space from him. “Stupid library, ” because of its shelves that make it all too easy and tempting to peak through and catch a glimpse of him.
Actually, maybe that’s not too risky of an idea. Cautiously, you bend down slightly and pretend to scan the titles on the shelf. You allow your eyes to slowly wander off the books until you can see Law by peering upwards. But low and behold, he’s staring right back at you.
You gasp and stand up straight, silently cursing your silly plan.
“Y/n.” He walks over to you, 2 books tucked under his arm. “l was under the impression you wanted me to keep your distance from me.”
“I do.”
“I find that hard to believe with the way you’ve been acting around me.”
“It’s just weird. You made me admit that I had feelings for you, and now things are weird.”
“I made you? You didn’t have to say anything, you could’ve rejected me and we both would’ve moved on.”
“I did reject you.”
“By telling me you feel the same? That’s some rejection.”
“You shouldn’t have said anything in the first place.”
“I had to, you told me that you thought I hated you.”
“But I didn’t make you say that you have feelings for me, and so now you’ve made it impossible to ignore.”
“Believe me, I tried to ignore it. To ignore you. It was pointless.”
“Then you weren’t trying hard enough. I could’ve gone a lifetime without bringing up the way I feel for you if it means my crew will be able to continue this alliance for our goals.”
“Don’t give me that shit, your captain made this alliance because he thinks we’re friends. You seriously think he had a goal in mind while doing so?”
With a roll of your eyes, you cross your arms over your chest. “Maybe not, but Luffy is the captain- I trust him, and so I follow him in any endeavor he believes in.”
“Well, I’m the captain of my own crew, and I believe that whatever we have going on is a little more than ally-ship.”
“Regardless of whatever is going on between us, is it really a smart idea to complicate such an important alliance?”
“…No. I suppose it’s not.”
“Then drop it-” You turn, ready to forget about this conversation and continue hiding your feelings away when he grabs your wrist.
“But they wouldn’t care, y/n, and you know that. Your crew thrives on-” he gestures vaguely with his free hand, “-friendship and rainbows and joy.”
Shaking off a smile, you bite back. “That might be true, but you know what’s even more important to my crew? Protecting each other. They wouldn’t like me being with you; even if we are temporary allies, you’re a Captain of another crew and one of the Supernovas. So don’t tell me what they would and wouldn’t be ok with.”
Law seems to think for a second before he releases your wrist. “Hmph.”
Finally, you take your leave to find somewhere- with no Law and no watchful friends- to just think.
~
You settle on the bow of the ship. If you had an ability like Luffy’s or any guarantee that you wouldn’t slip right off and into the sea, you would like to sit on the masthead of the Sunny. A clear, unobstructed view of the world ahead, and the breeze to keep the hair out your eyes could be so peaceful. But, this has some sort of charm to it as well; you do seem to love a challenge (even if it’s one as simple as having to lean over the railing of a ship to see the horizon).
With a cheerful call, the man you had just been thinking of joins you on the railing by the ship’s bow. Luffy speaks animatedly of his plans for all sorts of things, but during a lull in conversation, he asks you something unexpected.
“Do you love him?”
“What?”
“Traffy! Do you love him?”
“I…”
“You’ve said how much you hate him, but that just means your feelings for him are strong. So you love him, right?”
You’ve never been more bothered to hear Luffy say something so uncharacteristically observant.
“I love you guys.”
He hums. “But that doesn’t mean you can’t love other people, too.”
“…I won’t ever leave this crew, Luffy.”
“Of course you won’t!” He latches onto you in an iron-grip hug, and you smile ever so slightly. “But, y/n.”
“Yeah?”
He releases you and instead grabs your shoulders to talk to you face to face. His face seems especially serious- the same way it does when he makes a bold declaration of his dreams or beliefs. “If you love someone, you tell them. You don’t hide it, because you never know when they could be gone.”
Finally, your barely-there smile opens into a full grin. “When did you get to be so wise?”
Luffy shrugs. “Shanks told me that once, I just felt it made sense for you too.”
You and your captain stay there a while longer, giggling over this and that until the sun starts to set on the horizon.
“I'm gonna go sit on Sunny- you wanna come with me?”
Though you’d been fantasizing over what it would feel like up there just a few minutes ago, you shake your head. “No thanks. But, uh, Luffy?”
“Yeah?”
“Could you… not tell anyone about what we talked about?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah, for sure!”
You would come to regret being so vague with your captain, even if he does occasionally display astonishing emotional intelligence.
~
At dinner- where there’s always something going on- you make an effort to sit far from Law. Your attempt is in vain, however, as he ends up right across from you. Luffy sits to your left, and while he takes a small break from stuffing his mouth, he nudges you with his elbow.
Your eyes meet your captain’s as he winks at you, then looks over at Law, and back to you. You can practically see the gears turning in his head as he had some sort of… plan in the works. With a wide grin, he asks, “Soooo Y/n, when are you and Traffy going to get married?”
A moment of silence passes before laughter erupts around the table from everyone except you and “Traffy.” The latter covers his face with one hand and pinches the bridge of his nose while you look simply horrified.
What had happened to not speaking of your earlier conversation? Admittedly, you had spoken of several subjects after your discussion of your feelings for Law… and knowing Luffy, he could have mistaken your vow of silence to be for any one of those subjects.
Since you’re sure your captain didn’t mean to embarrass you with his straightforward view of relationships, you just shake your head and give a muttered response. “We- we’re not, um, going to….”
Law, on the other hand, appears too bothered to stick around and listen to any more jokes. He stands abruptly and disappears in a flash of blue light.
You stick around long enough to finish your plate, then thank Sanji and leave quietly. Some unknown force draws you to Law, when you see him in Nami’s little grove of orange trees. Cautiously, you approach him.
“…Law? I- I’m sorry about that. I don’t know why Luffy said that.”
“It was embarrassing.”
“Okay, Law, they were all just joking. And I can’t even really blame them, because this entire situation is pretty fucking ridiculous.”
“No, y/n, it’s embarrassing that everybody knows how I feel and that you feel the same, and they’re all happy with the idea of us together, but you still don’t want to be with me.”
“It’s not personal, you know that.”
“How can it not be personal?”
“Everything I do is for my crew. I have a duty to them, and not even you or my own feelings will get in the way of that.”
“Do you seriously still believe that they would care if we were together?”
You purse your lips.
“I took your word for it at first, because you know your own crew better than I do, but clearly they have very little regard for what we do. Now I am inclined to believe that you made it up when you said they wouldn’t like us being… being something. And as foolish as I feel after believing that ridiculous excuse, I still want you, y/n. Tell me you want me too.”
“How much?” You ask with a fierce look.
“How much what?”
“How much do you want me, Law? You keep talking about your feelings for me, but you haven’t even said what they are.”
Again, you seem to find any way to continue arguing with the man before you as a means of releasing pent-up feelings. Just kissing him might be easier, but also a whole lot more terrifying and uncertain.
“Desire, attraction, whatever you want to call it-“
“Well, I’m not going to put everything on the line for someone who is attracted to me.”
“It’s more than that, you know that-“
“You know what I think?”
“…What?”
“I think that you can’t even admit to yourself- let alone aloud- the extent of your feelings for me. You want me to say it first so that nothing bad will happen if you put yourself out there, and that’s not going to happen.”
“I-“ He starts to speak, but can’t think of a rebuttal. You have him pegged. “I may not know exactly what my feelings are yet, but I can feel them, y/n. You remain on my mind constantly- so if you want me to stop feeling for you, then you need to stop.”
“Oh, I need to stop?”
“Yes, you-“
“You’re the one constantly making me reconsider everything I tell myself. You are the one who needs to stop.”
“Before what? Before we give in to this… obvious desire, and put aside duties to do something for ourselves?”
Heavy breathing fills the silence. He always manages to rile you up, and you can’t stand it.
“You should go. No, in fact,” you raise your hands in a gesture of surrender, “I’ll go.”
Without giving him the chance to respond, you flee down the stairs to the main deck and through the doors to the cabin hall. All this back and forth with Law is giving you a headache.
You can’t deny it any longer though; now that your captain knows too, it’s like you’ve spoken it into permanent existence. You’re in love with Law, and there’s next to nothing stopping you from being with him in the way you truly desire. Not even your sense of duty.
You should never have counted on the Strawhats to hold you back from something- or someone you love.

When Eyes Meet- Midorima Shintaro
A/N: Finally, I get to cover the last guy in the series! Woohoo! I'm chosing to follow Midorima's POV instead of the reader's for this one, because this concept is right up his alley. Aomine- Kise- Murasakibara- Akashi- Kuroko- Kagami
Tumblr media
For as long as Midorima could remember, he had cracked open history books and studies, all to find answers for the question that had been plaguing mankind since their existence. How did Recognition work? Recognition, the fabled phenomenon where two people would lock eyes, and instantly exchanged the very names of their souls with the person destined to be their love. No one knew how people could know the names of ones soul through eye contact, what triggered the phenomenon considering some people knew their love since childhood whilst others would Recognize upon first sight. Midorima had read countless of theories about it, but he could not know wether the held any merit, because Midorima still hadn't Recognized himself despite trying countless ways to attract his future wife. Midorima wasn't the most romantic guy, but the minute someone had informed his tiny self that someday, he would find the girl of his dreams through a tried method, he had been waiting for it to happen. He had dreamt about how it would happen, wonder how she would look like. Midorima was reading yet another study at the Shutoku library, having already done his homework he was burried in another book about the subject yet again. "Still reading these books, Shin-Chan?" Takao asked from behind him, spooking the green haired boy. He whirled around annoyed and saw Takao was with his usual small friend group. They eyed him with their friendly smiles, one more teasing then the other. Midorima didn't had true close friends in Shutoku, except for Takao. The rest of the gang were more like casual acquaintances he hung out with from time to time. They consisted out of a boy named Kyoyama Ryu, another one named Toya Keisuke and his sister Rinka, and you. Keisuke scoffed at the book. "You really think you're going to find the love of your life if you're stuck in the library all day?" Rinka hit her brother. "At least his grades aren't failing the way ours are, nii-chan." You giggled and decided to sit in the seat next to him. "I don't think anyone would want to trade with your grades, Keisuke-kun." You teased and Midorima couldn't help but think you had such a lovely grin. Your playful expression was oozing with charm. "Well, what do you guys think how it happens?" Whilst everyone in his group was as soulmateless as he himself was, he figured asking the question would do no harm. Keisuke scrunched his nose in thought and Takao hummed as he thought about his own theories. "Maybe, it's seeing someone for who they truly are." Your answer came immediately, like you had thought about it so much that you didn't even needed to think about your theory. Midorima looked at you in surprise, your simple answer felt like a pretty satisfactory explanation. 'If eyes really are the windows to the soul, then that's a decent theory,' Midorima mused. He looked at you, and studied your frame. If he could be honest, you were the one from Takao's friend group he liked the most. You were the type to always come with an answer or a solution to the questions he had, thinking outside the box. With you, he felt like his musings and worries always cleared like the sun, giving him time to think of other things, like how soft your hair always looked. If he were less reserved, he would have asked you for your contact details long ago. "Ey y/n-san, I bet you've got a clear idea of the guy you're gonna Recognize huh?" Rinka asked as she flopped down on your other side. "Not really. Every time I try to picture what kind of guy suits me, I just end up lost and confused." "Well someone smart enough to match you. Someone steady, who's probably traditional but not in a discriminatory sense. You know, like Midorima." Rinko had spoken her mind before she realized how awkward her words were. As your eyes fluttered to Midorima, curiously, he peered into your eyes and found to his shock that a name bubbled at his lips. And he instantly knew, that it was yours.

Basic Instinct (Akashi X F!Reader)
A/N: My Akashi drabble! I think. I never do word count so I never know if it’s actually too long or not… Warning: mentions of parentification, toxic parents, mentions of neglect and mental illness. I’m using some of my own experiences growing up with a mentally unstable mother, so the reader is female coded due to it.  Don’t worry, my Takao headcanon will be out soon! Masterpost Seijuro Akashi had not expected to be feel so exhausted after losing for the first time. His pleasure in basketball had returned to him, as well as his original personality, but it seemed like everything else was collapsing. His father was understandably pissed for having lost the Winter Cup and had doubled the extra tutoring he was given. Aside for the usual likes of eating, taking a shower, going to bed, he did nothing for himself. He didn’t even had time to sit down to read a book in the weekends anymore. But amidst the crumbling of his world, there seemed to be one person that noticed just how hard he was struggling to breathe. You. His other personality had dismissed you as nothing but an annoyance and as someone wasting their future, as you clearly were an intelligent student considering you never failed a class despite skipping often. Vivacious, playful and bright, everyone tended to dismiss your behavior. It was like you had everyone wrapped around your little finger. But after you had started annoyingly keeping an eye on him, he did some of his own. As in digging. It hadn’t been difficult to find your mother’s diagnosis. It had been easy to find a neighbor willing to admit that they spotted you bringing home your mom, who always seemed very drunk whenever the two of you had a family gathering, that your mother often seemed to behave like she was your younger sister instead of your mother and that they’d often heard the two of you fighting.  Even easier to watch you every day, and to notice the little things like the occasional reluctant tremble of your lip whenever school was over, like you did not wish to go home. His other self had grown uncomfortable under your gaze, like you could see into his soul. Something he certainly hadn’t given you the permission for. His original self, on the other hand, whilst still a tiny bit terrified, was mostly relieved at your knowing (e/c) eyes always looking out for him.
Two souls who didn’t had much of a childhood. Two souls forced to grow up early. Two souls carrying a burden they shouldn’t bear. Two souls who handled it with surprising grace and maturity. Two souls who had found each other. Akashi decided to approach you after school, one time when training was cancelled because of the flu going on and half of the team and their coach being sick. He wanted to open up to you, get to know the girl who smiled like the sun in spite of her heavy heart.  Seeing you during lunch break had basically convinced him to do it.  You had been talking to the girl in the seat next to him.  “But, don’t forget Mari-Chan, if Yamazaki does turn out to be cheating, I’ll sell my soul to the devil to have him killed and burn in hell for all eternity.” You swore, with a deadpan look that made your friend giggle. You flashed her a cheeky grin, because there was one thing you very much liked doing; making your friends smile. Brightening their moods.  That was why you were a friend he’d like to have. Your consistent lively, almost cheery attitude that held so much caring intent behind it, was infectious. He surprisingly found himself in need of it.  You were just about to put in your headphones, a heavy sigh leaving your lips until you noticed his approaching figure. “Akashi-san,” you greeted politely, and he smiled at you. “I noticed you didn’t ate that much at lunch today. How about I take you to Maji burger?” He asked, knowing the Maji Burger in Kyoto was on your way home. You eyed him suspiciously, and he admitted, it might have been a bit too much for a first conversation, but he didn’t like the idea your mother wasn’t ensuring you ate enough. “Fine, but you better not pull something on me.”  You noticed Akashi seemed a bit nervous at Maji Burger, so you asked him what was up. “If I am to be honest, I should be home by now and following my extra classes.” He admitted, and exhaled deeply as he decided to be honest with you. After all, he knew more about your homelife then you did with his. If he was going to be your friend, he should play open cards, he reasoned.  Instantly, your casual demeanor changed, becoming serious at the drop of a hat. “Akashi, you’re at the top of our class. You’re student council president, captain and pretty much the most competent person in our entire school despite you being a First Year. You don’t need extra classes,” your voice was kind but stern, “What you need, is to relax. To let yourself have fun, even if it means slacking. Otherwise you will never have a great life.”  “Do you seriously think being a slacker will bring you a great life?” Akashi asked, a brow raised at the notorious slacker. “Not slacking per se,” you retorted. “It’s about giving yourself some air and perhaps a laugh or two when you need it. Aristotle says a great life has known both great sadness and great joy. It’s about knowing both and the balance within it, kinda similar to Taoism in that aspect. It’s my life’s philosophy, and I’d rather listen to people who have been praised for millenia throughout history then to your father who most will have forgotten about in two hundred years, no offense.” You responded, and Akashi couldn’t stop one of the corners of his mouth from curling up at your remark. Nobody had ever put his father’s parenting down like that, whilst providing a rather solid argument. Akashi could feel cupid’s arrow passing through his heart as he replied, “None taken. Perhaps you could teach me a thing or two about having a great life.” Your cheeks flushed, but your eyes were glittering with excitement. “I’d be honoured.” Akashi was feeling bold, and as if he could breathe, as he smiled.  Defying his father felt good. Really good.
Together, the two souls will find great joy.

OP isn't exaggerating. There are countless of videos of the IDF shooting at crowds of Palestinians trying to find food for themselves and their starving families. The UN World Food Programme even suspended delivering aid because the IDF won't stop shooting people.

What Do We Call This? - 01
Tumblr media
mini masterlist || next
Pairing: Trafalgar Law x fem!reader
Summary: On a quest to find what you've been looking for, you acquire the help of the Straw Hat pirates, who've agreed to let you temporarily join them. There are however many challenges that come along with your temporary recruitment - an alliance with a certain Trafalgar Law being one of them.
Word Count: 1.9K
Warnings: fluff, angst, kinda slow burn, swearing. OP spoilers (especially in this chapter). Probably shouldn't read if you haven't watched/read the Punk Hazard Arc.
A/N: 16 year old me is rolling in her grave, ready to resurrect from the dead, unalive me, and take my place because both she and I cannot believe that we are back here writing fics about a fictional man. We also cannot believe that our writing style has not changed one bit. It's honestly quite disappointing.
Anyway, this chapter kinda sucks (proof read, but for sure there are mistakes somewhere there), and the others probably will too (all I've written after this is my favourite part, the rest is up to fate and my willpower to continue writing). But, if it comes to it we can always just erase all of this, and act like none of this ever happened.
Why is it called 'What Do We Call This?" you ask? Because I honestly don't know what the fuck to call this.
—☆✿☆—
She found herself being welcomed onto the pirate ship, despite the fact that just a few days ago she was after their lives. It was truly a strange turn of events that had unfurled in the blink of an eye.
"If that's where you want to go then we'll take you! If I'm going to be Pirate King I'll have to visit every island anyway!" The captain had said without a second thought when she had asked them whether she could tag along for a short while.
To put it briefly she had met the crew at Fishman Island, initially with the intent to get rid of them. However, after certain explanations about memories that she did not want to dive into for the 2nd time that week, and some forgiveness on the part of the pirates, she was now onboard the Thousand Sunny, on her way to the new world, fulfilling her initial goals.
——————————————————————————
The Straw Hats ship had docked at Punk Hazard on getting a call from someone on their Den Den Mushi. Luffy having picked it up without any hesitation had decided that he was going to help whoever it was.
A lot had happened since then. You had been captured along with Nami, Sanji, Chopper and Franky, and had found yourselves in a metal chamber along with the head of a samurai who was somehow still alive, despite lacking an entire lower body. Franky and Sanji had managed to break open the cell, allowing for your escape, but as all of you looked for a way out you ran into some children in what looked like a nursery. You had then escaped with the children, who had begged you to take them with you, but on exiting from the front you ran into a pirate named Trafalgar Law and the Marines. The group's interaction with the two was short, quickly choosing to find another exit.
Law, you thought to yourself as you kept running. You had heard the name before but couldn't quite remember when. You were however pulled out of your thoughts when from the corner of your eye you saw a thin blue orb surround the four Straw Hat pirates. You watched in shock as the hearts of the pirates were switched.
What had just happened?
You took a quick glance at the people behind you, had this been the work of the Marines or the pirate Trafalgar Law?
What you found was the pirate, frozen in place, staring at you as if he had seen a ghost. He had been caught off guard perhaps, not realising that there was someone else with the Straw Hats. But, he was quick to snap out of it, turning away and focusing his attention on the Marines at hand. You too turned back around, a small smile on your face despite the situation. You remembered now, where you had heard the name. What were the chances that you would finally meet him after all these years, you thought to yourself as you lightly touched the strap of your hood.
——————————————————————————
Everyone was now hiding out in a cave behind the research facility you had been trapped in, the situation having completely changed.
You had reunited with the rest of the Straw Hats and Trafalgar Law had also joined the group with the intention of forming an alliance with the Straw Hats. You couldn't help but laugh to yourself when Luffy had readily accepted, thinking back to when he had gladly welcomed you onto his ship, despite the few protests from the rest of the crew.
Your laughing caught the attention of the captain of the Heart Pirates, and you were quick to regain your composure, giving him a quick smile as he eyed you. His attention then turned back to Luffy, but his hand pointed at you, "Who's that?"
Luffy looked from Law to you and back, his smile stretching from ear to ear, "Oh! This is (Y/N). She was trying to kill us," he says, his smile not letting up while Usopp and Nami yell at him for the introduction while you, Robin and Franky laugh, Chopper too stunned to speak. Usopp then explains to him that you've temporarily joined them, not going into further details.
Trafalgar Law was obviously not expecting that for a response, almost in complete shock that someone could be dumb enough to welcome an assassin onto their ship. However, he didn't address it, there were other things that needed to be dealt with, he would just have to be wary of you.
You, Nami and Usopp had volunteered to stay back and watch over the children. However, Caesar Clown himself had come to attack you. Unable to land an attack on him the three of you were knocked out and he took the children back with him leaving the three of you and Brownbeard behind. Luckily, the four of you had managed to escape and were now back inside the research facility with everyone else.
It was a strange group of people; pirates, Marines, a few of Caesar's subordinates, and whatever you were. However, given the situation everyone had decided to work together to escape the gas, defeat Caesar Clown and save the children, but you sensed that Trafalgar Law had other intentions as well.
Initially with the task of helping find the children, you stuck with Nami, but watched intently as Law went off on his own. You quickly made the decision to follow him. Unsure of whether he had any ulterior motives to form an alliance with the Straw Hats, you felt it would be a safe bet if you kept an eye on him, in turn protecting the Straw Hats who you were indebted to - incase he tried anything.
"Nami, I'm going to follow Trafalgar Law. Maybe I can find something that can help the children," you say, and quickly follow behind the other pirate, not giving Nami the chance to protest to your decision.
You kept a safe distance from Law, you couldn't let him see you. Following him through various corridors he finally stops at a room filled with huge tanks, the words 'S.A.D' painted on each of them in big bold letters. What is this place?
"Room."
"Shambles."
Law's voice draws your attention away from the tanks, and you notice the same blue orb from earlier surround him. You're taken by surprise when you see a translucent cube with what looks to be a heart inside it appear in the palm of his hand. Then suddenly Law's flung back and in front of him stands a tall man in a white coat and shades, the cube now in his hands.
"Ver-go," Law tries to say as he stands up but the man squeezes the cube causing Law to fall back down and yell in pain.
Your eyes now focus on the heart, is that Law's? How did this Vergo guy get his heart?
This time Law tries to hit Vergo with an attack. He's able to hit him but it doesn't seem to do much. Vergo once again squeezes at Law's heart, harder this time, and you watch as Law falls on his back, unable to get up.
Shit what do I do? You scan your surroundings trying to find some way to help Law. You're not one for close combat, or combat at all for that matter, so running in and attacking is not an option. Just then you see the Marine from earlier, and you let out a sigh of relief, you could hold off on intervening for now.
Things however seemed to be taking a turn for the worse. Vergo had the upper hand, Smoker almost completely knocked out, yet you had a sliver of hope when you noticed Law dragging himself across the floor to reach for his heart. But, just as he was about to reach for it Vergo picked it up. You looked back to see Smoker lying still on the floor. Then you heard Law scream. A gasp fell from your lips, but you were quick to duck behind a wall before anyone could see you. Your body was shaking, Law's screaming was bringing back the memories.
Prison cell.
Dragged out against your own will.
Handcuffs.
Words.
Screaming.
More screaming.
Silence.
Handcuffs.
You try and take deep breaths to calm yourself. There's no point in remembering those things. You're free from it now, you try and tell yourself, You need to do something, if you don't, no one gets out.
Three deep breaths. You swore to yourself that you would never do this again, but maybe that wasn't the best idea when you had decided to associate yourself with pirates.
You outstretch your arm, and focus your attention on Vergo while still trying to hide yourself. From the corner of your eye you can see Smoker slowly starting to get up. You have to time this right.
"Grip."
"Twist."
You close your hands into a tight fist, and twist your wrist to the right.
Vergo suddenly shouts, an excruciating pain surging through his right arm, and he drops Law's heart, just as Smoker hits Vergo from behind.
You unclench your fist and bite down on your hat that you had already placed between your teeth, trying your best not to let out a gut-wrenching scream as you slide down against the wall to hide yourself.
The problem with these powers? You feel the same pain you inflict onto others, only it's far worse than what they feel.
——————————————————————————
Law's surprised by the way Vergo is suddenly gripping at his arm, but he immediately looks to his right, he heard that gasp from earlier. He knows you've been following him, watching him, but until now he wasn't sure why. You're gripping at your right arm as well, from your expression he can tell you're in pain, did you do that? He doesn't know what to make of it. However, he takes this as his chance to get his heart back, and just in time. Vergo's attention is back on him.
——————————————————————————
Trafalgar Law, you say to yourself, eyeing the man whose sitting by himself away from the rest of the crowd. He's different from what you had heard about him. Given, what you had heard about him was from a long time ago.
After the pain had subsided you had decided to get away just as Law laid his final attack on Vergo. You didn't want him questioning why you had followed him, and you definitely wouldn't have been able to explain why your right arm was limp. Instead, you would head back to the Straw Hats and act as if you never saw or heard what happened.
"(Y/N)-chan?"
"Hmm?" You turn your attention to Sanji who's holding out a bowl of food.
"Could you give this to Tra?" he asks, and you nod your head as you take the bowl from him.
Law's staring at Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hats, annoyance etched on his face. When he sees you his eyes do a quick scan from head to toe, but you notice how they linger on your right arm, which you quickly hide behind your back, shoving the bowl towards him.
"Here, Sanji wanted me to give this to you," you say, and he takes the bowl from you, nodding in thanks. You stand beside him for some time, waiting for him to say something, anything, but not a word comes out of him.
"Well, if you need more let me know," you say, quickly scurrying back to the cook who's all too happy with your company.
——————————————————————————
A/N: Now you're probably wondering after reading this, why the fuck are you writing? It's very simple actually - because what's the point in living if you don't keep adding to the list of things you're embarrassed about <( ̄︶ ̄)> ..... anyway see you next time....unless I choose to dip after this.
