It was a weird year in music, actually it was a weird year in general... at least for me. I spent a lot of the year re-listening to old stuff I loved, and re-discovering older bands.

My favourite record of the year was probably Foxygen's We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic. It reminded me of a Wes Anderson film soundtrack. Melodic and dreamy.

2013 wasn't the best year, I met a lot of great people, had a lot of really great times - but there was a lot of badness that went down. It ended with some really horrible stuff. Pretty confident 2014 is gonna be rad as fuck! Or at least have 75% less drama.

I finally updated my flickr. I have a huge backlog of photographs to upload still. But here is one of the latest, from today. More photographs of this place are in the link above. A summer home mostly likely once belonging to the Moirs family, of the Moirs chocolate company located along a secluded beach. It was found after some research and a vague description of how to get there by walking along a rocky beach, climbing a bank and walking down a long path. There's also speculation this once belonged to actor Donald Sutherland. This would be an amazing place to camp, hoping to spend some time down there next summer.

the cool wind stings my busted lip, my boots slip over soggy leaves and cigarette butts, as i pull my numb fingers into my jacket's frayed cuffs.

"so, I guess it's over." she exhales.

"yeah, I guess." i reply.

we walk side by side down Agricola in silence, passing the brightly coloured houses with broken steps. a man with dark cracked skin approaches, "Hello!" he smiles as he passes. whiskey breath lingers. reminiscent of last night's mistakes. we turn the corner to punch in the code for the neighbourhood bar where we'll drink the nectar that kept us cool in the heat and will now warm us during the freeze. together we'll face the dark cold grip of the impending winter and mourn summer's final demise.
