Angel vs Devil (dd/imagine)
Tumblr media
a/n: okay this gif was coincidental but it made me happy omg anywayy: this is a story based off of Monster by Dodie, ngl it’s loosley based off of it. (y/n) is a devil while David is an angel and they both are the voice for a young boy named Jackson, although, when the boy finds a girl he likes, the angel and devil team up to make it happen...
word count: 1,836
“Your boring, you know that?” She told him, tugging on the fuzzy red fabric. “Excuse me! I think I am quite exciting!” He said, fixing his halo in the mirror. She sat in front of him, watching her horns poke through her brown straight hair. She wore a red sweater and black jeans with motorcycle boots, she watched him as he slipped into his blue suede shoes. “I call left shoulder today!” He laughed. The shoes matched his white shirt and powder blue pants quite nicely, though she would never admit that. “David, it's the same shoulder every day. You know that!” She sighed. “Well since when were you all for following the rules,” He said smiling. “Rules? David, it's not a rule, its common sense!’ She exclaimed. David’s smile fell, “Alright, right shoulder it is. I guess that's a sign” He said, brushing his hair. “A sign of what?” She said, her eyes squinting. “I’m on the RIGHT shoulder, which means goodness is always right,” He said, putting his hands on his hips. “David,” “Yes, (Y/N)” “You are delusional,” She said smiling. She put on her red lipstick and they were both finally ready for work. “Okay, suns about to come up,” David said. “We should get going,” (Y/N) said grabbing what they would need from the little bungalow they set up each night. David closed it all down and the two of them went to there person. Jackson Sault, a thirteen-year-old A honor roll student who has never said a curse word in his entire life. David credits himself with Jackson's success, although Jackson did have some little lies, which (Y/N) was proudly responsible for. David and (Y/N) flew down onto Jackson’s shoulders. He never knew they were there, it was more of a psychological feeling to him, but they saw everything he saw. As the sun came up, Jacksons 6am alarm went off, he needed to be in school by 8:15 and the bus came at 7:30. As his body stirred, David and (Y/N) adapted to his movements. “Ugh” Jackson groaned. (Y/N) was determined to get Jackson to do some odd stuff today, (Y/N) didn’t care about Jackson's own movements, she cared about David later. Some days, she could get David so riled up that he wouldn’t do anything but watch TV when they got back to the hut they shared. “Sleep in” (Y/N) murmured into Jackson's ear. “Just 5 more minutes!” She said. “No no, you gotta get up! You wanted to make pancakes today remember,” David said, trying to get Jackson to wake himself up. David did this every day, (Y/N) never let him have it easy. Yet, David wasn't complaining, somedays he could get her so obsessed with this, it almost became... cute? Ultimately, Jackson slept in for 5 more minutes, which turned into a solid twenty. “Yes! 1 for 1!! Take that Dobrik!” She giggled out to him, sticking her head up from Jackson's shoulder. David just gave a simple smile, yet on the inside, his heart was rushing against his skin, feeling a wave of pulse hit him. When Jackson finally got up, it was more of a routine. He got dressed, ate breakfast and put his shoes on. The bus would be on its way and Jackson grabbed his school bag and headed to the stop. There was the girl that Jackson currently found himself acquainted with, Karmen. “Psst, (Y/N),” David called out to (Y/N). Karmen waved to Jackson. (Y/N) looked over to David, nodding. Jackson waved back. “Hey, Jack!” She said. Jackson smiled. “Say her name” David whispered to Jackson. “Hey Karmen,” He smiled. (Y/N) watched intently as David helped the young boy make the right choices in aiding Karmen to the bus and in a bus seat, even talking to her on the way to school. As the day went on, both (Y/N) and David made advances and disadvances. Finally, Jackson was laying down in his bed to sleep, peaceful as can be and a resting pulse, when (Y/N) and David pulled away to go home. “Well, that was fun!” David said, taking his shoes off at the door. (Y/N) walked into the house with her shoes still on, dirt getting everywhere. “Meh, same old shit,” She said, zipping her boots off. “I mean you got him to cheat on his science quiz so,” David said, trying to cheer (Y/N) up. “Yeah,” (Y/N) said. David made a weird face sitting next to her on the couch, “Okay, what’s wrong?” He asked her. “What? Nothing's wrong,” She said. “You’re lying, I can tell,” He said. She sighed, “I just feel weird,” She said. “Weird how?” “Like, my stomach hurts, it's like a pit in my stomach and when I think of Karmen and Jackson my body tingles a bit,” “Your nervous,” David said. “You care about Jackson and Karmen,” His eyes went wide. “What? I don’t even care about Jackson!” She argued. “No, you, you’re feeling nervous for him!” He said, jumping up and down. (Y/N) got off the couch, “You are crazy! I-i don’t feel those things!” She said. “I think you do” He smiled. “No, your forgetting who I am! I don’t feel things, I want one thing and its to watch this kid ruin his life,” She huffed, turning her back around, feeling the spikes grow out of her back. David came over to her, sitting her on the couch. “Take a breath (Y/N), your spikes are showing,” He said. She took a breath and let go. “I don’t feel these things” She stated coldly, her eyes a bloody red. Although, she was lying to David. She felt all the things and more, sure she was a devil, but some devils have feelings, some have changed of heart. David huffed, “Well, I have an idea. You may hate it, but If you could dig a little deep and find some love for Jackson, it may work.” For the next two hours, David spent time explaining to (Y/N) his proposal. It took some time, and some more fights, until ultimately, she agreed. The next day approached, and as (Y/N) and David sat upon Jackson's shoulders, the two were ready. The plan: To make Jackson and Karmen fall in love. “Okay, ready?” David asked as the clock was 1 minute away from 6. “I guess,” (Y/N) said. She was unsure where she would come into this. Jackson couldn’t bully Karmen to get her to love him, she couldn’t hurt Karmen, she couldn’t do anything bad! Bad was all (Y/N) was used too. Jackson woke up, stretching out his arms. David got him to roll out of bed, get dressed and do his hair. (Y/N) stayed quiet, just watching David really help out Jackson. She can’t say that it wasn’t sweet of David, she admired how his smile would grow wide every time Jackson did something that David had wanted him too. David would steal glances at (Y/N) every now and then, making sure she was okay. He knew she felt lost in this situation and he wanted to make sure she had a say in something, so he led Jackson into the kitchen with 10 minutes until the bus comes. “Cereal!” David said. “You're gonna be hungry if you don’t eat it!” David exclaimed. Jackson looked at the time and then (Y/N) thought of Karmen! “No! No!, grab a roll and eat it at the bus stop or something!” She said. David sent a memory of Karmen to Jackson and he did as (Y/N) said. She thought David had lost it, although, David wanted her to feel good. As odd as it was, the Devil had just done something good while the angel had done something bad. Jackson went outside to see Karmen waiting there as usual. David mustered up the courage for Jackson to say hi, (Y/N) had to hide her wants to make Jackson say “Lets date, stupid!” Karmen waved to Jackson, and he walked over to her. “Morning Karmen,” He said, chewing on his roll. “Hey, how did you sleep?” The conversation went on and on, boring (Y/N) but making David swoon. As they stepped onto the bus, Greg pulled Karmen’s hair. “Hey!” She shouted. This alerted (Y/N) and David, they had never seen someone be mean to Karmen. “Wow, the cow does speak!” Greg said. (Y/N) began to seethe, David was confused looking all around himself. Jackson suddenly didn’t know what to do as Karmen’s hair was pulled again. “Hit him,” (Y/N) said to Jackson. David was still trying to find a rationale. “Hit him, Jackson!” (Y/N) yelled. That’s what he did. Hit him. Greg went to the floor and clutched his jaw, he got up and hit Jackson back. Then, the brawl began. “Left side!” (Y/N) said. He did as she said, guiding him through the fight, so much so that he won. The bus driver broke them up, told them both to sit and called the principle. “Jackson, are you okay?” Karmen asked him, pulling him into her seat. “Yeah, it was nothing,” He lied. Oh, it was everything, poor Jackson felt his left hand as heavy as a weight, with busted knuckles. “You didn’t have to do that,” Karmen said. “But, I wanted too. No one should say things that aren’t true,” Jackson smiled. From here, David took over. Jackson reached out to her hand, “Besides, your beautiful no matter what,” She smiled, grabbing his hand back. As they got to the school the principle waited outside, to grab both Jackson and Greg. Although, Jackson felt no hurt, even when his Mom was nervous, with Karmen in his mind it was all okay. That night, in the bungalow, as (Y/N) and David got ready for bed, they felt ecstatic. “We did that!” She laughed. “I have never seen you this happy about love,” He said to her, passing her a glass of water. “Well, I just never had the chance to do a good deed,” She said softly. “Hey, I think your deeds are good! Just coming from the wrong mindset,” He said, coming over to her. They both looked into each other's eyes, and for once, they both saw another person. “David, I’m feeling that feeling again,” She said. “I am too,” He said. Now, love is quite mysterious and the world works in odd ways. As the Devil drew in closer, the angel reciprocated. A kiss, innocent and sweet, merging to the two together. Both feeling a feeling they didn’t know they could. As they pulled away, the Devil wrapped her arms around him. He smiled, picking her up and laying with her on the couch. “Man, you truly are a devil,” He laughed. “What?” She asked confused. “You could be my devil, if you want,” David told her, pulling away. She gave him her flirty eyes, “unless you don’t wanna be that's cool-” She cut him off, grabbing his hand and intertwining it with hers. “You may be mine, but your still boring,” She laughed.

She watched him intensely, the sweat dripping down his jaw and his body as he threw punches left and right, turned off from his opponent and worked hard against him. He sent an uppercut into his left chest, sending the opponent landing on the other side of the box. "Yes! Come on David!" She screamed from the stands. David smiled, as the referee stepped into the ring, bringing David's hand up in victory. The crowd jumped up, chanting his name. David smiled and winked in (Y/N)'s direction.  As David stepped out of the ring, he took a glug of water from his bottle, his Addams apple fluctuating with each rising gulp. (Y/N) couldn't help but watch, all illegal yes, but a very interesting sight. "So, how was I?" David laughed, coming up behind the sweet girl. She jumped at the sound of his voice, "David!" She giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck, pulling him in for a quick kiss. "I assume it went well?" He laughed. She nodded, "Of course it did, you always know what your doing," She said. David smiled, pressing his forehead against hers. "Does Zane know your here?" David asked, her smile fell. "No, I didn't tell him." She said quietly. Zane was (Y/N)'s cousin, and he didn't like her at these types of joints. He believed they were extremely dangerous, especially for a girl like (Y/N). But, she believed otherwise, that a girl like her could do whatever she pleases, she was strong and besides David was there to stop trouble from happening. "Here, come to the back with me it's gonna start to get crowded," David said. (Y/N) nodded following David into the back room. He swung open the curtain, holding her hand to his room. He unwrapped the white tape from his fingers, drying his head and biceps with a white rag. "You're quiet, what's wrong?" David asked the girl sitting on the black couch. A million things were going through her head, Zane finding out she was here, Megan, the ring girl, touching upon David and how this was David's source of income, and he wasn't making much with it being illegal. "I just don't feel like me today, you know?" She said, sighing putting her forehead into her hands. David walked over to the couch, sitting next to her, "Hey, those days happen. But, you gotta analyze, is it more than just that? Are you nervous about Zane finding out?" David asked her, grabbing her hand and interwinding it with his. "Honestly yeah, not only would he kill me he'd kill you!" (Y/N) laughed, standing up from the couch to grab a bottle of water. "Relax, he will never know!" David said, standing from the couch, grabbing (Y/N)'s waist. "Even if he did know, I'd kill him first, your forgetting who's the boxer babe," He laughed. "You're forgetting who trained you for two years!" She said, turning around and pecking him on the cheek. He smiled, grabbing her chin and kissing her. "Is that all?" He said. She looked around before finally groaning, "I-i don't know, it's just one of those annoying days!" She said, almost acting like a child. "Well, I'm not a mind reader, you gotta tell me what's wrong," He replied. She slid back down onto the sofa, him sitting in a chair.  "Well, I just get worried about you. I mean this is moderately illegal and you don't have health care benefits and if something happens to you it's all out of pocket care and-" The girl rambled, about all the scary things David's job entailed. She was accurate, that time he dislocated his shoulder in a fight, he went to Todd's apartment and they popped it back into place. He doesn't have the money to go to a doctor or the insurance to get the proper care that the job really requires. "Babe, I'm alright though right now," He said, looking up at the girl. "But what if you're not all right soon. I know how much you love boxing, but what if something serious happens one day, what do you do then?' She said to him. He looked at her stunned. Of course, it occurred to David that this hobby turned job really was a risk. He made barely 100 dollars per fight so he would do at least three fights a day, he could barely afford his shitty apartment in the ghettos of California, if he was caught he could be jailed or fined and at the end of the day when he got hurt, it was Todd and him playing doctor like toddlers again. "I-i just get nervous, that's all," (Y/N) said to him, smiling. David nodded, "I know" he breathed in deep before continuing, "I just can't give up now. All it takes is one fight, one fight with an agent in the stands, to sign me and I could become a professional fighter. I mean, its always been my dream and doing it illegally hasn't been that bad." He said, clapping his hands together at the end of his sentence. "Besides, I have you. And a girl like you is all a guy like me needs to want to win and succeed." He said to her. He stood up, grabbing her hand. "I just want you to be happy, but happy and safe," She said, taking his hand. "I am happy, and just for you, I'll try to be safer." He said, smiling. "Good. When's the next fight?" She asked him. He looked at his phone, "Uhh, 6:30. We've got a good two hours. You wanna get food?" He asked her. "Yeah!" She smiled. David led her outside and into his car. He drove her to her favorite Taco Bar in Los Angeles. David could sit and stay with her forever. He knew the words she meant were serious and he believed every last second of them. David believed in his abilities, but he wanted to be safer. Not only for himself but for this girl he had. For this girl he absolutely loved. That's what truly mattered to David, it wasn't about losing or winning the fight, or about a broken femur or dislocated shoulder, it was about keeping the girl he had finally got, after years of wanting her.

an: send me requests! BUT David takes (y/n) on a mysterious trip to a field with flowers and they just talk...
word count: 734
"They're out there," he told her. "Fields and fields of them. As far as the eye can see," She wasn't too sure what he was talking about. He pointed to the horizon from his car window. She looked out, but all she saw was some wheat and weeds covering the land. She didn't see the beauty. "Dave, where are you taking me," She laughed to him. "You'll see! I-I wanna try out my camera. See what's it's worth," He said, picking up the disposable camera to his left. "It's not a phase mom," She joked with him. "Hey! I actually really like this," He said, turning onto a dirt road. Only he would drive in a 150,000 dollar car on a dirt road in the middle of Malibu. It reminded her of home. The simpleness of the air, no big obscure buildings or bustling cars. Just the sun and the fields. Something she hadn't appreciated in a long time. Life got busy, she was a designer for Fanjoy and now she was David Dobrik's girlfriend. "Isn't it pretty? We had some stuff like this in Illinois but you had to drive out far enough to really find it," He said, parking the car in some grass patch. "You do know this is a 150,000 dollar car right?" She said, stepping out into the mud. Her Balenciaga's drenched with the dark puddle. "You do know its just a car right?" He laughed, grabbing her hand. They walked hand in hand, down the path, until she was met with the sight. Thousands upon thousands of purple needlegrass and sugar blooms, better known as California Poppys. "Wow," Her breath was gone, she felt a flash behind her. "Sorry, I just had too," David smirked. He rolled out a blanket in the middle of the area. They sat among the needlegrass and poppies. "I've never done anything more VSCO-y," She said. "Well, there's a start to everything," He laughed. The sun was setting behind them. This painted him in the best light. "Dave, why did you make me get all dressed up to go take pictures out on a field?" She asked him. He told her they were going to an expensive restaurant in Studio City. She put on her designer clothing, adorning herself with Cartier and Gucci, to only sit up in the hills of Malibu. "Can I be honest?" He said. "Of course baby," She said, sitting herself up in his arms. They leaned back onto the blanket. "I'm gonna sound stupid because it is kinda stupid. But like, we wear all this expensive shit but it doesn't matter. Like none of it matters, I just wanna start living moments. I don't care if my car gets some mud on it, I care about the pictures that come out from today. You know, am I making sense?" He said, breathlessly, like it was something he had held onto for so long. "Well, yeah. But don't you like to have the money? Have all the fame and cars? You worked so hard for this-" "I worked hard so I could do something with my life and have fun! And I was, I really was. But now, it's stressful," He said. She grabbed his hand. "I know, but can I just say how good you are at what you do," She smiled, looking up at him. He breathed out. "It's moments like these, being with you, that's what really matters, making memories!" He said, pulling her closer. "You are making memories when you make videos though! Even better, you're documenting the whole trip. Just because you have a camera in hand does not mean you aren't living in the moment," She said, taking his disposable camera in her hand. "Smile," She said, leaning up out of his arms and taking a picture of him. His back on the blanket and his smile wide, looking the girl who he loves. He breathed out, feeling her relax back into his arms. This is what he longed for. "Yeah, I guess," He said. He closed his eyes, holding her, just breathing.

March to August (dd)
Tumblr media
A/N: She fell in love with him in March, but they fell out of love by August (also I write a lot of sad stuff oops!! Happy stuff coming soon!)
Word Count: 1,596
The two of them were peas in a pod. Freshly friends starting in March. She'd go to his house, and they'd pop open a bottle of cold champagne, a little something to take the edge away. Her hair fell at her shoulders, pulling down her scrunchie. "How was your day, Dave?" She smiled at him. Every time she did, his heart would skip beats. Beats like it was in 4/4, continuous, almost ready to explode and shower her with this love. "Same old same old, the vlog is really messing with me. I-I need something new! Something I could really break into," He smiled at her. His teeth so white, making her head spin in circles. She didn't wanna like him. God knows he was the last thing she needed. Her type was, well- him! The unkempt brown hair, the spiritual eyes, the veins on his forearms and the rings on his hands. It all made her melt like she was putty in his fingers. "Well, have you thought about more direction? In the vlogs?" She asked him, sipping from her glass. The bubbles traveled down her throat, feeling cool and rushed. It was a chilly night, sitting on the expensive carpet, she felt a sense of class. "You know it is funny you say that! I was thinking of maybe a short film," He laughed, he got up putting down his phone. "Come with me, I wanna show you something!" He said, grabbing her hand. She walked with him, more like dragged. He led her to his room and pulled out a tiny camera from his desk drawer. "Um, what is it?" She asked him. She laughed lightly, not sure what a small camera like that could do. "Matt gave it to me! It's a disposable camera! Pretty cool, right?" He said, picking up the camera and examining it. It had a 2002 look but was smaller. He loved the aesthetic of these things, something she enjoyed as well. It had a sort of hipster filmmaker aspect he liked, she just liked the pictures it took. "That's sick!" She laughed, looking at the camera. She took her left hand and rubbed the side of the camera like it was a genie bottle. As if it could take away any sort of problems she had. It seemed as she was making a wish, maybe she was wishing for peace or for time or for David himself. "Woah!" She looked up through his window curtains. "What?" He asked following her over to the window. "Look at that sky! Ugh, doesn't that just make you so happy!" She said, her eyes gazing through the thin white curtain blocking her from the glass. "Hey! Lets' test out the camera, we can sit up on the roof!" He said. "Yeah!" She laughed. He grabbed the camera, she grabbed her cigarettes. She didn't smoke often, only when she was nervous and for some reason she was nervous. They both scaled the house until she was sitting in front of him, pulling out the little white stick. "Want one?" She asked. "Nah, you know I don't," He said, turning on the camera. The purple haze behind her mixed with her hair color, fitting like a sock inside a shoe. "Ooh! Right there, let me take the shot!" He told her, picking the camera up and putting it up to his eye. She giggled, a genuine giggle mixed with a real smile, something only he could get out of her. That was there first real night together, both sitting on the roof, talking about the things that bugged them. Talking until the sunrise, until she fell in his arms and they slept on the roof. The next month was a whirlwind of feelings, the two were never apart. David needed to run to the grove to get a prop for the next bit, "Shit! I forgot the apples!" He was visibly getting upset trying to film the bit. Jason looked over at her, knowing she was the only one who could bring him out of this. "Here, let's go get them," She said, standing up and grabbing her keys. David grabbed his keys and off the pair went. They were singing in the car, along with some song on the radio. A Selena song, her favorite artist. The way she sang made David feel some sort of way. "You know, people say Paris is the city of love, but I believe Spanish is the language of the lovers," She laughed as he parked the car. "You know, I only know Hungarian and Slovak," He said. "I'd love to learn Spanish though," He laughed. They both walked into Ralphs. "I'd love to learn either Hungarian or Slovak, they sound like cool languages," She said, walking over to the apples. David got the materials he needed, as they walked out of the building, the sky opened up and rain poured out of the dark clouds. Both ran to the car, screaming and laughing, feeling like the 22-year-olds they were supposed to be. They got into the car, drenched. "Wow!" David said, putting the apples in the back. "Jesus! I didn't think it could rain like that!" "Hah," She got quiet. David and her sat in the seats, inches away from each other. "I can't drive in this wea-" "I wasn't expecting you to Dave, let's just take a second," She said, unbuckling her seatbelt and turning towards him. "Teach me, Slovak!" She laughed. "Then you have to teach me Spanish!" He grinned. "I only know a bit!" She said. "That's okay!" "Okay, how do you say hello?" She asked, looking into the back seat. "dobrý deň, how do you say it in Spanish?" He said. His accent was thick and beautiful. "Hola! You should know that!" She said, hitting his forearm lightly. "Prepáč, better known as sorry!" He said. "Lo Siento, it also means sorry," She smiled a flirty little smile. "How do you say I love you in Spanish?" He asked, looking down at her hands. "Te Quiero," She smiled. "lúbim ťa," He smiled. He grabbed her hand. "How do you say kiss me?" She asked him, leaning in closer. "Bozkaj ma," He said, giggling. "Bésame," She said, tilting her head as they kissed in his car. Speaking two different languages that had nothing to do with each other, except that it showed the love they had. May and June passed on with flirty confrontations, soft smiles, and hand holding. But never the question, always the "I love yous". She didn't know where they stood and at first, it didn't bother her, but slowly it did. He didn't wanna put a label on it, he didn't see the need for one. He just wanted to love her. July moved in and so did David's birthday. The gang went to Vegas to celebrate, getting a sick hotel. They had a "rooftop" room. This meant the roof was a pool, something that was open to guests until dusk. Nothing stops David and at 1 am, he pulled her right up to the roof to talk. "Can you believe your 23?!" She said. "No, not at all," He said. "I still feel like I'm 17," He chuckled. Maybe that's why you treat me like I'm 14, that's what she thought. "Yeah, but you're a mature person!" She smiled. She was terrible with these kinda conversations. "I could be married in a few years," He said. That tripped him out, it always had. He looks forward to that day, but he thinks about it way more than he should. "Yeah, I mean we all could!" She said, sitting down next to him. "I could be married to you," He smiled, kissing her on the cheek. "Yeah, you never know," She said, kissing him. And they kissed and kissed until the sunrise. This became a pattern for them, and by August, she was sure he was going to ask her out. But then he stopped. He stopped all contact with her. She ran into him on a street outside of LA. She put her head down trying not to have to see him but he reached out first. "(Y/N)?" He asked. "I'm sorry?" She cocked her head to the side, pretending not to know him. "Oh! Sorry, I thought you were this girl I used to know, but she wasn't blonde," He laughed. She had dyed her hair, trying to get his thoughts out of her head. The sunglasses she was wearing helped a bit too. "Oh, no worries!" She laughed. He frowned. "Yeah, I guess sometimes two stones roll down their own path," He sighed, walking away from her, leaving her gasping in the wind. She dried her eyes and as the sunlight would stream through her empty bed in the morning and the moonlight would gleam through her apartment at night, she finally understood what David meant. Everyone is like a stone and either you roll or you're stuck, like a statue. She decided to roll, he did too, and the paths didn't line up. But, sometimes things don't stay set in stone, maybe one day they will love again.

Damn. (dd/imagine)
Tumblr media
Summary: (Y/N) loves Todd and confesses to David...who loves her.
word count: 1,009
There was something about her smile. Something about it that made David feel like he was on cloud 9 every time he saw it. Every day, he'd pass her in the halls, trying to see what she was doing with her friends. There was nothing about him that stuck out to her. Every time she passed him, she would just smile and high-five him. Distance. That was the key, distance between the two of them. Senior year was hard enough and David was struggling with it all, he couldn't find a way to say all the things he thought of her. Senior year was a breeze for her, she was an okay student but didn't have big dreams, she wanted to break into fashion. Everyone knew she would, it was obvious she had a talent for that sort of thing. As May approached, so did Senior Prom. David wanted to ask her, he wanted to go with the girl of his dreams. (Y/N) wanted to go with Todd, his best friend. She always liked him, but the feelings never really arose until 3 weeks ago, when her friend Corinna asked him to prom before (Y/N) could. Todd didn't think anything of it, he just thought it was 'whatever'. This was the person (Y/N) was head over heels with. (Y/N), being overly influenced by Corinna, asked David to prom. Which, he couldn't have been happier about. They spent the night together, both having a great time. By the time David went home, he thought something really conspired between them. He was sure (Y/N) felt the same way. They had the same Social Studies class, and each time one talked to the other, they'd blush. (Y/N) became touchier and they would spend hours on the phone really getting to know each other. David was going to ask her to be his girlfriend, he was thinking of when to do it when he got a message from the girl of the hour. "You have time to facetime?" The message read. "Of course," David replied. He got ready to talk to the girl he really fancied. "Okay Dobrik, do I have some tea for you!" She laughed at the phone connecting the two. "Go for it, I'm all ears," He said, expecting to hear some really fluffy stuff that has nothing to do with (Y/N) herself, but he was wrong. "So, last night I went to Tana's party and Zane was there!" She said. David's heart dropped. (Y/N) was a beautiful girl and was incredibly smart yet she had her bad habits. Smoking and drinking were one of them. She couldn't control it, she had bad friends for a long time. David also feared what she would say next as he confided in Zane. If anyone knew Zane they'd know he's a bad drunk and pretty much spills his guts out on the floor every time: literally and figuratively. "Okay," David said, playing with the fuzz on his pajama pants. "He was telling me about Todd and how we looked super cute hanging around. He said we'd make a good couple!" She said, getting excited. "Really?" David's heart fell into his stomach, so far down it felt like it had disconnected into his smaller intestine.  "Yeah! You know, I've always had a thing for Todd but after Corinna asked him to prom I didn't wanna throw myself into that," She said. She was blushing and smiling. David was trying to reciprocate the actions he saw, but he felt nothing but sorrow. Everyone liked Todd. "That's so sweet!" He said, pulling out the fuzzies on his pants. "D-Do you know anything? Like does he think I'm cute?" She said, laughing. David knew that Todd thought she was somewhat attractive but reminded him too much of his last girl. "Todd isn't much of a talker..." David trailed on. "Awh, that's okay! I-" She started but was cut off, "No! He's said somethings," David smiled. He was about to lie right through his teeth just so he could confess to the girl he loved. "Your smile! It's one of the only things that are real and pretty around here," David said while (Y/N) blushed. "He loves how you scribble on your skirts, little stars, and solar systems. Your space obsession is something he thinks is super cute! But, he keeps it all in. He's a quiet guy, someone who doesn't really know how to love someone-" "He said all that?" She smiled that winning smile. "Y-yeah," David stuttered when he got nervous or was lying, something (Y/N) didn't know yet. "Did he say anything else?" She laughed. "Um I-I," "No! It's okay, I don't really care I was just-" "He loves how you dance!" David blurted out. "He what?" She chuckled. "You dance, like no ones watching." He smiled. "Huh, so just so we're on the same page, he likes my smile, my obsessions, and the way I dance?" She sounded shocked like she couldn't believe it. "Yes, hey I gotta go, but, I'll see you around?" David asked. "Yeah! Thanks, Dav," She smiled. After the phone disconnected, David called Heath. "What am I gonna do?" David broke down crying. "Todd would never like her! You know that" Heath sighed. "We're a million worlds apart!" Both (Y/N) and David yelled over the phone. (Y/N) called Zane right away, spilling to him everything that David had said. "Listen! Todd may very well like him, shoot your shot, worse comes to worst you miss!" Zane laughed. She smiled. "God If I could just tell him how I feel," She sighed. David was still crying, "How do you say 'I love you' to someone who surely doesn't love you!" "Dave, relax. It's okay." Heath tried to soothe him and relax him, but David was heartbroken. "If I just told her how I felt maybe it would be different," He sighed. Truth be told, Todd didn't love (Y/N), David did. But he knew they were on different pages in different books, and he had to live what that.

She’s With Us! (dd/imagine)
Tumblr media
Summary: (Y/N) gets catcalled by some creep at a bar. “Shaggy-Hair” steps in a save the day, walking her back to her dorm and creating fireworks like never before.
Word Count: 1,071
Mama always told (Y/N), "Always stay in a group, 3 or more. You never wanna be alone!" (Y/N) listened to her Mom on a day to day basis, except, tonight was different. (Y/N) was playing babysitter for all her drunk friends, ending with her being alone. Of course, the UCLA campus wasn't anything like being in a giant city but it was pretty large. To say the least, (Y/N) had to walk cross-campus to make sure all her friends ended up home safely. The farthest of her friends being Jackie. Jackie lived in a 'private dorm'. This was essentially an off-campus personal apartment. (Y/N) never left her friends in the dark, it was just part of who she was. She walked Jackie all the way to her apartment and stayed with her for a while, thinking about the fact it was 2am and she would have to walk back through the entire campus setting to her dorm. Of course, she was nervous, you're told from a young age to never walk alone, none the less walk alone in the evening. Yet, (Y/N) was strong and as she walked out of Jackie's apartment door into the brisk cool night, she whispered to herself, "You can do this" And with a deep breath, off she took. It was cloudy out and terribly late. (Y/N) put her keys in the wolverine shape, clutching her fits together to make her look tougher. She walked through a crowd of people on a sidewalk outside of a bar. She heard a whistle which snapped her head in that direction. "Damn girl! You really are something else, why-why don't you come back with me tonight? I could make you-" The guy kept getting closer to (Y/N) as the pace quickened, she was scared and hated being catcalled, she felt inhumane each and every time. "What? You ain't even gonna look back at me? Thots these days," The dude kept going, now getting angrier, as (Y/N) started to jog through the crowd, until she hit someone. She went down on the concrete and was embarrassed. The girl picked her up, "You okay?" She asked (Y/N). "Yeah, this dude is chasing me," She said, sighing trying to get away. "Aye! What's your name?" The dude kept going. "Yo, back off!" A guy stood up with brown shaggy hair. "Why don't you leave her alone," The girl said, letting (Y/N) stand at her side. "She's with us dude, beat it!" The shaggy-haired guy said again. The guy flipped him off and walked away. "T-thank you so much," She said, smiling to the group. "I'm Kristen, wanna sit for a bit with us?" She asked (Y/N). (Y/N) shrugged and said, "If you insist," laughing sitting next to Kristen. "Hi, David," The boy with the uncombed hair said. "Thank you again, I really appreciate it," (Y/N) laughed. "Please! I wouldn't want it happening to my sisters," David smiled. Surely but slowly, the group went around saying who they were. (Y/N) sat there, eating pretzels and listening to their crazy lives about the videos and the adventures they had. Turns out David was some sort of big internet star whom (Y/N) had never heard of. "Wait, you let your friend jump over the pool on a jet ski?" She said, sounding worried. "Yeah! But he was okay, the stunt didn't go well and he ended up in the hospital," David sighed. "Oh wow, must've made good content though!" She laughed. She was studying to be a nurse so she could only imagine what happened to 'Jonah' as they called him. She glanced down at her phone, realizing what time it was. "I gotta get back to my dorm, but thank you for keeping me company and saving me from a kidnapping!" She laughed, grabbing her stuff. "Do you want me to walk you there?" David asked. "It's cold and dark, I don't want you to get hurt," she said. "No, let me. I promise I won't kidnap you!" He said. "Um, sure," she said. They both stood up and said their goodbyes. David and her walked side by side. "So, your studying to be a nurse?" David asked her. "Yeah! I was apart of the med-tech club in high school and I've always wanted to help people," she said. She was serious about what she wanted to do. "That's so sweet, I just give people cars," He chuckled. "Yeah, but this helping them out in a different way." She said. "You know, we'd make a great team," He laughed. "How so?" "Well, when my friends get hurt from my morbid ideas you'll be there to fix them!" He said, almost like it was obvious. "I guess that is true," she said. She quietly laughed at the thought, she knew she would most likely never see David again. Although, he was incredibly sweet and charming. They made it to the big dorm building. "Thank you again, really. I think you may have saved my life," She laughed. "Any time," He said. He pulled out a piece of paper. "Here, I wrote down my number. Call me sometime, you are a really great person. As I said, I think we'd make a great team," He handed her the slip and smiled. "And, I'd love to take you out on a date sometime, only if you're up for it, I'd never-" She kissed his cheek, taking the slip and walking into her dorm building. "Goodnight David, I'll call you tomorrow," Just like that, David went back to his friends and waited. The next day she called him, and he was so excited. He told her he'd pick her up and they'd spend the day with his friends. Which is exactly what they did. She fit in like a pea in a pod, all of his friends liking her and vice-versa. All because of the stupid guy at the bar. Fate really does work in mysterious ways.
