SJM Villain Week Rules/FAQ

Welcome to SJM Villain Week taking place on the 1st - 7th of October to kick off the scariest month of the year.

In order to inspire creativity within the fandom, we are running a prompt submission form to collect your ideas for what the prompts should be for the event! Each day will have two prompts, as well as a free day on the seventh.

To help this event run smoothly, here are the rules to follow-

This event is about the big bad guys of the SJM universe, but that does not mean that hate will be accepted. Remember to be kind and respectful to everyone joining in on this event. Any kind of hate mail sent will be deleted and the user will be blocked, no questions asked.

Projection of harmful stereotypes will not be welcome. Any kind of portrayal of the villains is welcome, as long as everything is kept respectful, and it is clear that certain kinds of behavior are not justified.

All relationships and interpretations of sexualities are welcome! So long as your villain of choice is at the forefront of your content. No shipbashing is welcome. You are also of course welcome to create general and non-ship content!

No A.I content is permitted and therefore will not be reblogged.

NSFW and mature content is allowed, so long as everything is appropriately tagged. That means on Tumblr, their guidelines for NSFW images are followed, and on AO3, or other posting platforms, the work is sufficiently tagged and rated according to that sites rules.

As we are dealing with the villains of the story, it needs to be clear, graphic depictions of SA will not be reblogged.

Whilst we all have different headcanons, and interpretations of characters, these are some characters that are not villains, and content centering around them will not be reblogged or otherwise featured during this event-

How do I participate in this event?

Any kinds of participation are welcome! Whether that be headcanons, fanart, fanfiction, moodboards, playlists, edits, or anything else you come up with! Remember, any A.I content will not be reblogged.

What if I have a question about the event?

If you have any questions, please feel free to send an ask to the event account! We would love to hear all of your questions, headcanons, or any content you wish to share with us! If you want your ask to be answered privately please state that in the ask, otherwise all asks sent in will be published.

And please remember to not send any asks regarding the event account to our moderators. Please send them through the ask box of this account.

Do I have to stick to the prompts?

The prompts are there to help inspire creativity, that being said you do not have to stick to them. There will be two prompts for each day, you can use both, just one, or none at all! Whatever inspires you to create work! There will also be a free day where you can go utterly nuts and write whatever you want featuring our villains!

What can I do for SJM Villain Week if I am not a creator?

Any kind of interaction with the creators' making content is the best way to support them and encourage them leading up and during the event week! Consider liking, commenting and reblogging the content you see! This is the best way to let the creators know their content is appreciated.

Up to and during the event, we will be reblogging and sharing content made for our villains. If you have seen or have created works for our villains don't hesitate to share with us so we can reblog it!

Rules

All works must focus on Tamlin! Any and all ships are allowed, as long as the ship with Tamlin is at the forefront. You are also welcome to create general, non-ship content for him.

Any and all gender/sexuality headcanons are allowed! And no ship-bashing, please.

There are 2 prompts for each day. You can choose one or both of them to inspire your work. The last day is a Free Day, so go crazy! If none of the prompts speak to you, feel free to create your own Tamlin content on any day. The prompts are meant to promote creativity, not restrict it. If you have questions about any of the prompts, you can message us.

NSFW/Mature content is allowed, as long as you tag everything appropriately and follow the rules of each platform. So on tumblr, that means following their guidelines for NSFW images. On AO3, that means giving your fic the appropriate rating and tags.

Any kind of creative content is encouraged! Fanfiction, fanart, edits, playlists, headcanons, moodboards, ANYTHING!

That being said, AI art is not permitted, and will not be reblogged.

The best way to support content creators leading up to and during Tamlin Week is to let them know you support them! Here are some questions and ideas that you can use to help develop your own creations for poly+ ACOTAR week! These prompts are meant to be suggestions, so feel free to do whatever you'd like for each prompt! All formats of creative expression are welcome.

We encourage you to create something that brings you joy, and maybe even something you haven't done before. This is a safe space to explore new ideas and develop different things that help celebrate consensual non monogamy (CNM) within the fandom.

Day 1: 4/7 ~ Beginnings

How did we get here? How did your pairing end up together? How’d they meet? Was there a mating bond? Maybe a relationship first? Or raging dislike that became something…more?

Did your group start as mates? Are they mates at all? When did the bond(s) snap?

Did your group meet at a specific event? Maybe they were all working on a project and wound up together. 

Is an established couple deciding to bring another partner or two in? How’d they decide this? Maybe it was a flirtatious night on the town. Maybe both individuals in the couple had been pining over the third person for a while and hadn’t discussed it. How do they find out they both like and want to include the same person? 

Maybe two couples are deciding to switch for the first time. How does that dynamic begin? Did both couples approach each other, or did one propose the idea first? 

How did the members of your group decide they wanted to engage in consensual non monogamy? What did that conversation look like for them? Did one person initiate, or did the conversation happen before the relationship started?

Is your group beginning to engage in an open or closed poly relationship? How did they come to this decision?

These posts may help you determine which aspects of CNM you wish to explore in your fic!

Welcome to the official blog that will be hosting and running Feylin Week 2024. This is the first Feylin Week, hopefully of many, so it will only last five days instead of the traditional seven. Mark your calendars, April 1st - 5th will be about all things Feylin. Fanfics, Moodboards, Playlists, and more are welcome! Why Those Days?

Based on this poll, the public feels it best that Feylin Week be between Feyre Week (March 18th - 24th) and Tamlin Week (April 14th - 20th) so democracy is being honored. However, all future potential Feylin Weeks will be during the week of Calanmai (May 5th - 11th)

Can I Help?

For the upcoming week, no, as too many details are already set, but if you wish to help run or technically contribute to potential future weeks, reach out to [email protected]. You can also use the email if you want to participate privately (stealth Feylin shippers) Please do not spam this email with hate or vitriol, it is a fandom space for others to enjoy and communicate.

Do I have to stick to the prompts?

Not at all. The prompts will be more guidelines than rules. They’re there for inspiration and to remind people of Feylin moments that they may not remember to make participation easier. Additionally, the days aren’t deadlines, works for Day One can be posted on Day Three. The Masterlists for each day won’t be posted until the week is over, so don’t stress trying to adhere to the timeline.

Prompts will be posted 2 weeks. Feel free to ask more questions, I hope you’ll have fun!

♡ Announcing SJM Romance Week 2024! ♡

Hello everyone! Valentine’s Day 2024 is coming up, and that means it's time to celebrate any and all ships related to Sarah J. Maas' work. This will be a week-long event and we (@moodymelanist & @separatist-apologist) welcome any and all forms of celebration of the various types of love — fics, headcanons, playlists, art, moodboards, or anything in between.

When will this take place? February 8 through February 14, 2024!

Who can participate? Any and all of SJM’s couples! From canon to reader to crackships, any and all ships from Throne of Glass, A Court of Thorns and Roses, and Crescent City are welcome! Please remain respectful — the characters are fictional, but the people who ship them are not. Leave the shipping wars at the door.

What are the prompts?

First Date — What happened on your ship's first date?

Traditions — What does your ship normally do to celebrate Valentine's Day?

Weddings — What happened on your ship's big day? Did everything go perfectly, or did they have a few hiccups before they made it down the aisle?

The Little Things — What are the little ways your ship shows they love each other?

Favorite Tropes — What are your favorite romance tropes? From enemies to lovers, there was only one bed, forbidden love, love triangles, or something else, use your favorite trope for your ship!

CNM Misconception #1

Misconception #1: “There is a specific ‘type’ of person that engages in CNM.”

Research has shown that there is no significant difference between individuals who do and do not engage in CNM. Two different nationally representative US surveys found even distribution between age, race, ethnicity, religion, income level, educational background, and where they lived within the US. The results of this research was also replicated in a nationally representative sample of Canadians.

There are all kinds of people who engage in consensual nonmonogamy, regardless of demographics! Everyone deserves to love and be loved in the way that suits them best, and that's what this event is all about.

Day 8: Poetry

Gwyn and Azriel each have a way with words in their own right, as seen throughout this series and with each other. Do you think we’ll see them sprouting poetry to each other? Are there any poems that remind you of Gwynriel?

Day 9: Music

With both Azriel and Gwyn being wonderful singers, it’s far too easy to find musical connections between them. What scenes involving music do you envision for Gwynriel? Are there any lyrics or songs that scream Gwynriel to you?

Day 10: Theories

With 2 books and a novella left in the ACOTAR series, there are so many theories as to what the future holds, especially for these two. What are some of your favourite Gwynriel theories? How do you think that their relationship and characters could help contribute to the plot of the next books?

Day 11: Alternate Universe

In our hearts and minds, Gwynriel belong to each other in every universe! Whether that be a modern AU, a retelling, or even another fantasy series, their dynamic flawlessly blends in. What other universes do you like to imagine Gwyn and Azriel in? Gender swap AU? College AU ? The possibilities are endless!

Day 12: NSFW

It is undeniable that Gwyn and Az both deserve to have a healthy and romantic sex life, that is filled with consent and communication! How do you think Gwynriel get down and dirty in the bedroom? Are they exploring kinks? Maybe having their first time together?

Day 13: Secret Lovely Beauty

This term was used at the end of Azriel’s bonus chapter to describe the feeling in his chest at the image of Gwyn’s smile. How do you think this line holds significance? What images come to your own mind when you think of Gwynriel and this quote?

Day 14: Free Day

For the final day of Gwynriel weeks, you have free reign to imagine this wonderful couple together! If there was an idea that you had that didn’t fit the prompts, you are more than welcome to share it today!
