You do know that most doorkeay shippers were shipping it before knowing anything about the age gap? And that these are two consenting adults in at least their 30s? And that after that information showed up, Jonny came out saying he fucked up the timeline like an idiot? That he fucked it up many times? Nobody in that group of people wants that age gap, and shipped them before knowing of said age gap. The general timeline of TMA has so many mistakes, and so many Michaels. The Michael that worked with Eric could've been a different one, or he could know about Michael because Mary told him after binding him to the book to make him feel bad.

If you don't like. A ship, that's fucking fine. It's not your thing. Nobody's telling you that you have you like it. But you need to get over yourself with this whole righteous bullshit. If you actually read what people write for doorkeay, you'd notice they're always making them healthily consenting adults.

Moreso. I've never seen a doorkeay shipper harass anyone, or cause any fights. But people who claim "doorkeay has a problematic age gap!" even led harassment campaigns and told artists and writers to off themselves repeatedly for weeks on end for shipping it, when said artists and writers made it explicitly clear that they had always seen the ship as being about 2 to 3 years different maximum.

I hate when people come after ships between fucking grown adults. Why are you so fucking obsessed with it?

Care when they're shipping a minor with an adult.

Gerard Keay is not a child, he's in his 30s, and before we got his birthyear from Protocol, he could've been born anywhere in the 80s. Including 1980. No matter how much you whine, he's in his 30s. That's an adult worldwide as far as I'm aware in this dimension, bucko.

If we didn't get the exact year, he could've even been 43 at the oldest today (1980 to 2023). Doorkeay shippers have been under this understanding since forever (timeline's fucked. Play with it). And they almost always picture Michael as being close in age. Hell, I know someone who made a whole timeline trying to catch all the options that the mistakes cause and found that there's a chance Michael could've been a year younger than Gerry (before getting the set year from Protocol. That timeline was made over 2 years ago)

And the few times there's been a larger age gap, the authors/artist always make sure to clarify:

THESE ARE TWO CONSENTING ADULTS, NOT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF EACH OTHER, AND CAPABLE OF LEAVING THE RELATIONSHIP IF THEY NEED TO.

I have seen a lot of people against fannon Tim. Personaly I love fannon Tim. People forget that in cannon he is just a fun guy, that he immidatly assumes Jon is sleeping with cops. I actually really like the fanon designs!! Like, especially how so many characters, like helen and sasha and daisy all have such consistent designs, everyone just decided on them like that, I think it’s super neat (and especially with jon too, I love love LOVE his fanon design)

but what ISNT neat is when people get pissy when you don’t use the fanon designs. like, it’s super neat that everyone came up with such solid designs for characters that don’t have any!! but that’s just it, they don’t have any canon designs, so people should be able to do whatever the hell they want with them, including making completely different designs than the fanon ones bc once again THEYRE NOT CANON, without people getting weird. like cmon. damn, we can’t have nice things apparently

Posting here because I, quite frankly, fear the short Jon anon.

I picture Jon as being average height and the perception of how tall he is changes based on the context. Like:

season 5 monster Jon: 5’8 is tall

While being kidnapped: 5’8 is short

(Not in a magic way but in a his demeanour makes him look smaller/bigger depending on the situation way.)

if i wanted a mildly spooky found family office comedy, where the horror tragedy stays in the background and the focus is on the characters awkwardly flirting and dealing with relationship drama, i would go looking through tma fanon content. we’re like 13-14% of the way through the magnus protocol, with a mountain of unanswered questions, and sam and celia are going on a coffee date after interacting twice 🗣️

Agreed. Idk I think we need more time to get used to these characters and we are not getting that time and the plot is just barely peaking thru ngl. It wants to be a found family office comedy but mix it with plot and the spooky and idk its not rly there just yet. May be too early to judge but none of the eps have rly hit for me yet, whereas with tma I was so strongly hooked by ep 6

Also Im going to be fully honest I can barely remember anything that happens in tmagp LMAO. Which is vastly different from my relationship with tma where I could give you a quick desc of almost every ep

i think protocol’s existence in the first place wasn’t necessary, tma’s story was over and the ambiguity worked well. it honestly probably could have benefited from more ambiguity. i do think protocol could work if they had an interesting story to tell but it feels like they’re not sure what they want to do. it’s dredging up old tma stuff and not allowing tma to be over, and simultaneously not committing, not exploring the old threads they’re bringing up again. just feels half assed and i wish they either made it a full continuation or something entirely separate, instead of wobbling back and forth. also, i think they chose too large of a cast for the limited episode length and amount of episodes. the amount of characters means they need to spend much more time on dialogue, and they don’t have much time to spare. the only way to make it work in their available timeframe was cutting the statements in half, which makes every episode feel like an abrupt switch happens halfway, and both the statement and the dialogue is left feeling incomplete. i think tmagp would have made a great fanfic but this didn’t need to be canon 🗣️

Ok I like protocol but it isnt hitting the spot just yet for me. Im waiting for it to get good, bc I feel once it RLY hits then Ill be obsessed. I like tma for its story honestly and currently tmagp doesnt have too much of that in the parts I personally liked abt tma. So I like it but its not rly there for me if that makes sense. Also Im still annoyed that this isnt my current special interest and instead I have smth else filling that role

I don't believe the Extinction exists (in-universe). Every "Extinction" statement is actually another entity (mostly Stranger or Spiral) that just happened to have an apocalypse-themed incident. The concrete jungle one is Stranger, the theme park is Spiral, the apartment door is Spiral, etc. I can explain every last one of these and why it makes more sense as one of the 14 and not a new Fear. The "Extinction domain" in s5 is Desolation (destruction of home, routine, and familiar things; no recourse or ability to cope; ashes of your life and world). Jon was able to pull off the Watcher's Crown 2/Magnus Archives ritual without an Extinction mark, so it's not separate enough to need to be called separately like the 14 are. At this point I don't even really care what the authorial intention was about if the Extinction is real because the text supports my theory

I don't care what canon says I need to organize The Fears. They may be unknowable eldritch horrors To You but I'm going to know them. There's so many ways you can organize this shit. Put them together. Split them up. "Opposing" fears can combine and clash and both. "Complimentary" fears can be complete opposites. Forget canon, you think of your own Fears and categorize those. And every single fear can present as a different Entity depending on how it shows up for you. A dozen people with the same fear can have different entities because of How they're afraid of it. We need to get insane about this. Analyze every fear you can think of and how it can fit into any given entity. It's amazing!! You can ponder so much on this. You can make so many characters with this. There's a lot of y'all who have read my mind and aren't horribly afraid to share you concepts and characters the way I am and I appreciate you all so much. Thinking about this isn't enough I need to eat it. I need to absorb this podcast into my bones. This isn't even the beginning of it there's so much you can think about and write and organize with these. I can't wait for protocol to be complete so I have all the information I need to know everything now.
