okkies! August is pescatarian and lactose intolerant (much to her disappointment, but some lactose based products are worth the pain)

sushi is her go to food! and she loves ahi poke bowls, pineapple marinated anything, but truly a lot of eastern food and hawaiian food that is vegetarian or fish based!

fish - she likes salmon, tuna and prawns the most! oh and anything her mums made for her! pineapple marinated prawns are incredible!

however,

if you put asparagus, celery or coriander in front of her, she will question your life choices whilst giving you the biggest death stare of your life -.-

anything that makes food taste like soap to her is an abomination to this world and she wants nothing to do with it

Some little facts about Sunset Birds resident rebel with a heart of gold!

August is non-binary, going by she/her and they/them pronouns by the time she is 18

Demi/Pansexual baby! When she falls, she falls HARD, but she never really experienced that until a very specific summer...

DOB: 20th October 1997!

She is a TWIN! Her sibling, Charlie Merrow Black is not an identical twin, but they do look incredibly similar!

She has beautiful copper red hair, the colour of autumn leaves (and perhaps a red fox's coat 0.0) with mismatch gold/green eyes.

Her favourite colours are deep reds and dark greens

She is very simple with her favourite flower, preferring roses because she loves the dark colours they come in! the smell is a big bonus for her too ヽ(✿ﾟ▽ﾟ)ノ

Her personality is best described as a cheeky fox once she lets her walls down, but the way most people perceive her when they first meet her is a little intimidating with her resting b** face and aloof attitude as she figures out what kind of person you are hahaha

August likes to flaunt the rules, she is very much that stereotypical rebel, but with a catch - she will break the school rules (ditching class, skipping school, contraband 0.0) but she will have one of the best marks in class. She certainly doesnt start fights, but she will end them. August is a touch of an enigma because you cant lump her into a stereotype because she falls into one and then in the same breath, breaks them.

As you can see from her lovely little picture, she has a very grunge/alternative look to herself. Even as she grows older, she keeps to this aesthetic though modifies it to be a bit more formal

She enjoys reading, listening to music, dancing, skateboarding and gymnastics!

Her core discipline in dancing is Contemporary, but is also knowledgeable in ballroom and modern pop! She enjoys more fluidity and gracefulness in dance, theres a sort of freedom in it ヾ(•ω•`)o

the double down on fancy victorian emo kid jokes - the boy would be roasted everyday and he would just smile and accept it lol

August had her own version of a monochrome look, so was very understanding of the asthetic, but the nerckerchief? yeah first words out of her mouth wouldve been asking what century he timetravelled from and just kept at it

eventually she wouldve found it endearing but in the moment? he wasnt safe.

I still cannot get over the fact Baxter was originally gonna have a neckerchief like just imagine the characters pointing that out

i hope you are doing well ᓚᘏᗢ

first and foremost, i won't be naming any names here. yes, my post was vague, and that was the point of it. because the truth of the matter is that no matter the fandom, this sort of behaviour is evident in all of them and i was calling it all out. identifying the people directly can cause more harm than good, and it is not my intention to victimize anyone.

it just so happened that recent events regarding a specific community pissed me off to no end this time round, and it was a long time coming.

in a way i am glad that you have not seen anything yourself from specific tags and the community, but the reality is that people who choose to target a set group or a set character and don't want blowback from it wont tag their posts to make them easily accessible. however, if you interact with enough blogs, basically the '6 degrees of separation' rule comes into affect, where blogs that interact with that fandom start to link to each other and you unfortunately will end up with a blog that doesnt align with your taste or morals on your feed and you get an unhealthy dose of toxicity from it

this happens on all forms of social media; where i have been seeing this kind of activity is more so on twitter, but it has happened here on tumblr too.

i do want to stress that when i do see this kind of toxicity i do block/mute them from my feed so i dont have to see it, but it doesnt stop it from existing. and then seeing how it affects the people around me because unfortunately its not so easy for them to get away from it, it just hurts me deeply

if you know my blog well enough, you know i am a massive fan of OLBA currently, and thats typically what i post, amongst other fandom stuff that interests me, however its typically OLBA.

the OL series is all about acceptance and understanding and openness with one another. discrimination, bullying, anything like that doesnt exist in the story and shouldnt exist in the fandom either.

its unfortunate to see that regardless of the type of community it should be, that negativity and toxicity exists regardless. as some one as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, i have unfortunately seen comments that are against what the community stands for. i have seen commentary that is essentially bullying of one account or a collective for the sort of content they produce. hyprocritical comments, calling out someone for their content but going ahead and making that content themselves.

if you have not seen this sort of activity, im grateful for it. truly, its not nice to see this kind of stuff, and if you do, blocking and muting it is the best option to avoid them and keep to the healthier side of the fandom

please note, this blog will always be an open blog, other than calling out this poor behaviour, the entire purpose of this blog is to be positive!

to share fics and and art and headcannons and thoughts about all characters in the fandom i am a part of, because i am trying to share the love i have for the series with others and have great discussions around them

i know this was a vague answer anon, but i hope you understand the reasoning behind why and wish you all the best

this is a rant, vent, jumble of words im feeling and need to get it out of my system because im a little done

it never ceases to amaze me just how cruel people in fandoms can be. cruel, mean, hyprocritical, straight up dumb.

dont get me wrong, these people are a minority. i have found myself amongst the best sort of people in fandoms i am a part of and couldnt be happier for the friendships i have made from them.

but this incredibly loud minority piss me off to no end. i stay away from any sort of discourse, silently watching from the background and watch thing blow up over trivial matters, and then learn who to avoid in those circles and move on with my life

but when i see, what i consider to be blatant bullying, to someone i hold dear, i dont want to be quiet anymore. im not a loud figure, im a tiny blog that loves to simp over 2d characters, a tiny stream channel that i interact with like minded people. and i mean i am TINY, im barely a blip on this wide web. so anything i say, it doesnt go anywhere, so still, i stay silent until i cant anymore.

so lets get to the crux of the matter.

if you dont like a character, you dont get to make others feel bad about liking them. i dont care if you think they are problematic, if you dont like their story, their look, or simply the fact that they exist

you dont get to make someone feel bad for finding a connection with them and loving them

you dont get to attack them about liking the character, passively or aggressively, you dont get to make fun of them and any of the work they do around them. you have no right to take it upon yourself and make someone feel like they dont belong just because they like a character that you dont

if you dont like the character, dont fucking interact, its that bloody simple. scroll away. mute the tag, mute the channel, whatever. just walk away

interacting with someones content for the pure purpose to make fun of it is cruel. you are making it public that you want to demean the person for what they enjoy. and the worst thing is, if you catch the attention of the younger audience, they learn that they get to act that way, and this kind of online activity only gets worse

it already has gotten worse. man, im a millenial and i thought keyboard warriors when i was in highschool and older where bad. these days the younger generation feel justified to think that they can say whatever they want and suffer no consequences of those actions. i see it in so many fandom discourses. its horrible

but they learn from the worst of us on the internet. the more they see the cruel interactions, the more they think its okay to act that way. and without a doubt, fandoms will end up being incredibly toxic environments that people wont feel comfortable to exist in anymore.

every fandom has a toxic space, its unfortunate but it is true. i wish it wasnt

and the smaller the fandom, the louder this toxic group is

it just fucking sucks. and watching people i care about be treated so badly hurts because all i can do is be their support. an ear, a shoulder, just someone they can vent to. but it doesnt stop the fact that they got hurt and i cant do anything about it

god i dont even know what this even turned into. im tired, im upset, im just so frustrated.

why cant people just be nice?

if you managed to read all the way down here, man i applaud you. that was a great mess of thoughts, i still have many more but at this point i feel like i would be repeating myself

please, just. be kind guys. its not that hard, i swear it

to all my moots, honestly, i love you guys. seeing all your work and love you put into your creations gives me life and brightens my day. dont ever stop loving your craft and your fav characters just because someone decided to be a prick.
