dsmp hyperfixation in 2023 and its consequences

c!Jack's story portrays the theme of vengeance in a very unique way compared to more "main" characters in the dsmp story because it doesn't feature the concept of the cycle of revenge or collateral damage like them rather it focuses on scapegoating and one sided revenge and it destroyed his character on a personal level. Jack knew deep down Tommy was as much of a victim as he was, but he didn't care. He had his scapegoat, and that's all he really wanted. He wanted to enact some revenge not because he truly and genuinely thought Tommy deserved it, all he wanted was closure, and if revenge gave other people closure it must work for him too right? But it didn't, instead it destroyed him. Unlike Niki who eventually saw the light at the end of the tunnel Jack let his need for vengeance consume him, because that's all he had. He is such a fascinating character to me, he didn't necessarily contribute to the overall plot but he didn't need to. His self contained character arc had much more of an emotional impact on me than so many other more "interesting" characters on the dsmp.
