Oh they blew the opportunity to write an amazing queer love story on TV all right. Thankfully we fanfic writers are here to fix that and write a thousand amazing queer love stories on ao3. Never underestimate the power of fandom. One day TV producers will wake up and see the potential because we'd have been writing the equivalent of hundred of thousand books worth of queer romances between TV characters. They'll wake up and realise they fucked up in the past and that they missed that opportunity. Or maybe one day the old guard will die and will be replaced by people that are not, you know, homophobic bigoted idiots.

I like to think there’s still hope for the tv/film industry. That this next generation of artists will do the things people of the past didn’t have the guts to do.
