Flight of The Peregrine: An Urban Fauna-Inspired Spread

So I recently had an ✨️experience✨️ with a peregrine falcon in my backyard and have since incorporated them into my practice. I'd like to share a tarot spread that I designed as a result of this encounter.

This is a simple, introspective, and goal-oriented spread designed to be used for personal development. Here is a list of each card position:

Card 1: The Perch - Represents you or the situation as it is right now.

Cards 2-3: The Journey - Two steps you need to take in order to get where you want or need to be.

Card 4: The Predator - A threat, obstacle, or challenge that you need to be aware of.

Card 5: The Prey - Helpful energy that you can utilize in order to reach your desired goal.

Card 6: The Destination - This is the final outcome which will be achieved once the path has run its course.

I was pretty happy with this spread. It's straightforward, easy to execute, and I got some interesting results. If you try it for yourself feel free to share your answers.

Hi friend! I saw Cartomancy readings were open on your readings list, and would like to request one from the Crystal Tarot if that's okay! I am in a spot where I had one I cared about leave due to health issues and anxiety... I know he still cares but he has fallen into a hole and has given up on any sort of future for himself.

I have been waiting for him just in case he changes his mind and realizes he does deserve to be cared for (and my Gods have told me that if I wait things will work out). However, my cards have been telling me that continuing to wait will be of detriment to me, and have been urging me to try and meet someone else.

I ask the cards, if it's okay to do so, if waiting is the correct decision right now. I feel very lost and confused right now, and any clarification or response they can provide is very welcome!

Hello! I am more than happy to assist with you a reading. I find it quite ironic that I left that exact deck out after having used it yesterday. What a tough situation to be in and I empathize having been in a spot like that before. I'll see what mine have to share.

Colors seen when pulling the individual cards are what I see when I am. I have tried to read with them included but they may have little importance. I include them anyways in the chance they do are [important].

Reading is a long one so I am keeping this tidy with a read more!

Query: What insight can be given on the situation whether the querent should keep waiting or move on?

I do wish to say that my cards are just laying out options and ultimately you make the decision of what you wish to do. I don't want to be too much influence on such.

Pile A: To Stay and Wait

Hammered Copper (color and texture) is 6 of Wands [Upright], and Turquoise (color and stone feeling) the Emperor [Reversed]

6 of Wands [U] - This situation is one that may be slow going right now. The future is uncertain. While this card art is traditionally about moving forward in joy, mine is about stability. The wands create 2 triangles that make up a larger diamond shape. I am including this in this reading. The foundation and this is upright, I see something of a gridlock. In the center of the diamond, there is a rising sun. What I am seeing in this position, and in the advice of waiting "this will be slow, and it might get there eventually."

I am not getting the quick motion of the 8 of Wands here as there is still things to go through until your person comes to a realization. I don't see it being fast. On the other hand with this card, for you, this shows that you have progressed in your personal journey. Be proud of it, and be aware you have support. If you keep waiting, be sure you get out to do things for yourself as well.

The Emperor [R] - The reversal of this art gives me a sullen feeling. I looked immediately at the expression of the card art and the eyes look tired in this Emperor. There are a lot of thoughts going on. It feels like a dragging energy uncharacteristic to this card. I see this as a commitment aspect (not necessarily in terms of a relationship) and the loyalty that comes with it. Resources might continue to be expended on your behalf, whether that be your time and energy, or something more. I don't see this as card as just being a singular person, but both people in this case.

I genuinely am getting a heavy feeling while I am interpreting this position. It feels like it's the burden of waiting, and the slow arrival of the journey of the 6 of Wands. It isn't going at a pace where it will benefit you, and waiting longer puts you in a position where it will wear you down. The flow is off and is now different.

It doesn't say if staying is bad or good, it only says that this will take a while if you keep on this path and you may get worn down in the process.

Pile B: To Go and Meet Someone New

Sage Green (color) 6 of Coins [Upright] and Bright Bubblegum Pink (color and aroma) King of Wands [Reversed]

6 of Coins [U] - Another card of balance similar to the 6 of wands here. The energy here is more free-flowing than the one in pile A. This has a layout of 6 coins arranged in a circle with a 6 pointed star in the center of them. It has a sun energy to it similarly to the 6 of Wands. But the way it works is much different. I don't know if I actually see this as fully leaving the situation so much as putting yourself out there. This feels like a break to meet new people, gain friends even.

I say this because there is potential for those you meet to pay you back in the energy you are putting out. That is the most likely situation here. I don't only see this about material gain (which that is included), but in the equality of relationships. The give-take will be better with someone else. It is balanced and stable in a completely different way than the 6 of Wands is. That is the advice and future glimpse here.

King of Wands [R] - Another figure of royalty present in the second spot of a reading. This King of Wands rests his foot upon a lion, holds his staff in his right hand, and is looking down in thought. Because this is upside down, I again looked at the expression which I at first thought it was a similar sullenness, but is not. The energy just feels in though, ridiculously pensive and absorbed in thought.

I am a tiny bit cautious about what this represents as reversed this may be a person who is impulsive and aggressive. I keep wanting to divert from the idea that this does represent a person yet keep getting snapped back to it. If it is, then this may be someone who is underdeveloped in some aspects of personality (at least in regards to leadership and thought), but offers the free-flow of the 6 of Coins. That is a possibility and not necessarily truth.

Otherwise, for you, it is a warning of thinking too much and making sure you set realistic expectations and good boundaries (with yourself and others). The advice here is saying that you can meet new people, just be smart about it.

Other Advice:

Gold Leaf (color and texture) is 9 of Coins [Upright], and Red (dried blood or clay) is Temperance [Upright]

9 of Coins [U] - My art depicts the coins arranged as a sunflower. This one follows a similar theme present in the 6 of Coins actually. Both deal with financial aspects and self-sufficiency. I see this as direct advice for you and what to do. You have to take action for you and what is going to be good for you. Remind yourself of your achievements and what has been good for you. Look at what has brought you joy. If you decide to go out and try something new, let it be something you like.

Temperance [U] - This is actually the card art on the box of my deck! It is a red-haired person pouring into a small jug. They have wings and a sun disk on their forehead. I can't help but feel like this card is representing a third individual (an entity is what comes to mind). This advice from outside the reading. It's an invitation for you to be patient with yourself as this situation isn't an easy one. Keep a balanced approach and mind as you are going forward. See what your vision is going forward. There is something that will help when you write it down or give it thought one more time.

Jumping Card - Three of Cups [Upright] (and Empress [Upright])

I am only including this as it slipped out at the beginning of me pulling cards. This is also a triangle element with the cups, similar to the image in the 6 of Wands. I think this is seeking support from another, whoever you wish it to be, and celebrating the connections you do currently have. It may be a nudge to go out with friends (or family), and maybe you'll see something differently. The Empress fell out as well, but that may have been an oopsie, but I thought I would put it here too. I don't get much from it but it feels like a reiteration to take care of yourself too and lean into another source that brings you joy.

Well this was certainly a long but I had been thinking about this while I was doing other things during the day. I thought it deserved a bit more attention and interpretation. Let's see how it resonates and remember to take the advice presented here as only advice. We make our decisions depending on what we want. Let yourself think over this a bit!

“Rose’s Healing Tears” Enchantment

Inspired by Rose Quartz’s healing tears from Steven Universe. A healing enchantment for you through physical or mental trauma; but please do not use this as sole method for healing, also seek the help of medical professionals as well. (And yes I am aware there is a spell by @orriculum, which I linked in this sentence, of a similar name but I’ve been wanting to make a Rose Quartz inspired spell for a very long time now)

What You’ll Need

A rose quartz

A small bowl

Waxing moon water

Himalayan pink salt

Mortar and pestle

Tears or spit

A pink candle

An item you wear every day

Skin-safe lavender oil

Thyme

Chamomile

A rose, preferable a pink rose

What To Do

Cover the rose quartz in the oil.

Pour the moon water into the bowl and place the rose quartz in it.

Take the item you wear every day and place it in the bowl now.

Take a rose petal from the rose and place it under the rose quartz in the bowl of moon water.

Take your chamomile and other rose petals and muddle them together and place the mix into the bowl.

Spit/place your tears into the bowl after you put the chamomile and rose petals in.

Drip the wax into the bowl while saying/thinking/chanting “I am ready to move on, I am ready to heal, help me heal.”

Take out the item and dry it, whenever you need to recharge it hold and say “I can heal, I am healing.”
