Classic Video:  Iam - Petit Frère

Back to 1997, when this Marseille-based group was the shit and when our big brothers were listening to old school rap before it was cool. The track, which is french for "Little Brother", talks about kids growing up too fast and start mobbing. The song sampled Wu Tang Clan's C.R.E.A.M. and is taken from their third album named L'école Du Micro D'argent (= The School Of The Silver Mic). Over here in France, this album is considered as a classic.

Back in my days, when I was a young kid, I remember when the trumpet of the song was resonating in my neighborhood, and when my big brother and cousins used to ride to this. I see my whole childhood crystal clear everytime I hear it. Music is a true time machine.
