First of all I want to apologise for the late reply! I’ve been recently rather busy. ._. And yes, unfortunately they got taken down yet again... I’ve sort of given up with Youtube for a while (I don’t want to risk another strike) but I haven’t completely given up with the project yet. I’m currently trying to save up money for storage extension on vimeo. Since these videos are quite big, (each takes around 7-9 GB) I need to purchase more storage to be able to upload them on vimeo. It still bothers me that Youtube just won’t let me keep these videos, but it’s still better than not uploading them anywhere at all.

New YouTube channel

Hello everyone~

I have some news to share with you and all my thoughts and changes from the previous weeks after my old channel got completely suspended.

As it’s probably now obvious for everyone, I lost my old channel after receiving 3 copyright strikes from Rejet. It was most likely because of all the soundtrack I uploaded, which is of course understandable. Even though I felt completely devastated and heartbroken since so many people were expecting the rest of the soundtracks as well as the continuation of the walkthrough, I still had to face reality and accept the facts. But as I promised, I found a way to return and I started re-uploading the walkthrough. The prologue is already uploaded, though without the opening. Sorry guys, but I just can’t risk to receive any of these copyright strikes again so unfortunately there won’t be any soundtracks or opening/endings re-uploaded, just the walkthrough itself. I’m really sorry. :c But as to add something positive, I’m going to upload the full soundtrack of Lost Eden here on tumblr for you so you’ll be able to download it and listen to it in good quality! Another thing I have to let you know is that even though I resumed working on the walkthrough, it’ll probably take me a really long time until I can release the newest part since in the beginning of this August some unexpected events happened in my private life and one of them would be that I started attending school! ^o^ This might sound a bit strange since I’m already 23 years old but I got a chance at my current job to learn more as well as to attend school, which is really awesome actually but that means that unfortunately I’ll have less time to edit. The only thing I can promise is that I won’t abandon this project of mine, even if it’ll take me a while to upload a next part.

Anyway, as I mentioned before, I have already re-uploaded the first part and you can watch it right here! I’m planning to upload part 2 and 3 as well in the near future, probably at the end of next week and another week later part 3!

DIABOLIK LOVERS ENGLISH PATCH RELEASE!

At long last, we have fully completed our English patch for the Limited V Edition of Diabolik Lovers Haunted Dark Bridal. You can find all the information regarding the patch, including a list of who worked on it, how to install it, and a link to a walkthrough here: http://otomevn.com/diabolik-lovers-limited-v-edition-english-patch/

Reminder that you must be able to send us proof of your purchase of the game in order to receive a copy of the patch. There are instructions on how to do this in the link above.

Also, note that the patch is around 2.5 GB, so your memory card must have at least 3GB or so of space on it for the patch to be able to be installed.

This patch was worked on by a lot of people (over 25!), and as much as we tried to keep everything consistent, scripts have different translators, which means different writing styles. We have done our best in editing to make them all cohesive, but if a few scripts sound a little different, it’s because they were probably worked on by a different team member.

If anyone notices any errors or problems, please let us know! This game is fairly large, and even though we proofed it and beta tested it multiple times, we probably missed things here and there.

Diabolik Lovers HDB Walkthrough in English - Part 3 - Ayato’s Dark 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, Epilogue

About the editing:

I used the PS4 release of the game, which I bought last year not much after its release. Proof of my copy is right here.

I haven’t hacked/cracked the game or have done anything illegal with it, I just simply recorded it using my elgato game capture device.

Overall the editing was pretty much the same like in the previous parts, but this time we get to see Yui’s monologues at the end of each chapter (expect for dark 06 and the epilogue). The monologue itself wasn’t a difficult thing to edit, my issue was the part when you have to choose the correct words in order to proceed. I’ve been thinking a lot about this particular part, of ways how it would be possible for me to make it look like the original version. Well, for my luck, the game is basically made using only images, not actual animations. The only constantly moving thing was the pointer, which I ended up solving by masking frame by frame and copying this same movement over and over again since it’s just a loop. With this I managed to create “my own pointer”, which I could move freely, the way I wanted. Well, my other bigger issue was the blood effect which comes after choosing the correct word. As I mentioned before, this wasn’t an actual animation, just an image, but the image was still transparent... So basically I had to make this blood image not transparent somehow, so that I can put it over my English text. What I did with this, was masking the whole thing, again, then re-colour so that the transparency disappears. After that I just tried to imitate the original transitions. I know I’m not so good at explaining so I’ll try to show it with pictures!

So this is the original blood effect which appears when you choose the correct words. As you can see, it’s completely transparent so I couldn’t possibly use this the way it was.

So I masked every single blood spatter...

Recoloured them using the brush tool so that they’re no longer transparent and removed the background at the end. Hopefully it’s easier to understand it now! I tried my best to make it look like the original, I hope that you guys like it! I put the original Japanese words at the bottom of the screen as well for those who want to play the game themselves. It’s not always obvious in which order you have to choose the words, hope that this helps. ^^

The rendering this time was again around 27 hours... well, this doesn’t even surprise me anymore. xD With this video we’re finally through Ayato’s dark chapters, in the next video I’ll be doing his Maniac prologue, 01, 02, 03, 04 and 05.

Good evening everyone~

First of all I have to apologise for taking so long with the continuation, I haven’t actually planned to be this late with it but unfortunately time was short and since I had vacation for 3 weeks I haven’t even been home at all during that period of time and before vacation work didn’t go easy on me either. But long story short the stress is finally gone and I went back to editing with full power. xD

I didn’t expect this to take such a long time to edit to be honest, though this time the video is 10 minutes longer as well, so I kind of miscalculated some things... I’m really, really sorry for making you guys wait for so long! <(_ _)> I want to thank also everyone who commented and liked the first part of my walkthrough, even while I was on vacation I kept reading your comments and I just felt so happy each time my phoned showed a notification about them.^^ They motivated me so much to keep on working, without you I would probably be still not finished with it. xD So once again, thank you so much for all of your feedback and support! <3

About the editing:

The editing method I used is pretty much the same which I used in the previous video as well. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t challenging though! Since in this video we get to see the beginning of Ayato’s route, it obviously includes the “choices” as well. Unfortunately there was no way to completely erase the Japanese text out of those boxes, so I ended up just blurring them. I hope this is not too disturbing.

I also decided to split each part (dark, maniac, ecstasy) into two parts. The video would be otherwise 2-hours long, not to mention all the time it would take for me to render it and edit it. The rendering time was 28 hours this time. That’s why I ended up doing it this way, the prologue and the first 5 chapters out of 10. In the next video I’ll be doing Dark 06, 07, 08, 09, 10 and the epilogue.

Diabolik Lovers HDB Walkthrough in English - Prologue finished

Good evening~

I’m really, really happy to be finally able to publish the first part of a project which I’ve been planning to do for a really long time already, and that is an English Diabolik Lovers walkthrough.^^ I was able to make this possible thanks to all the awesome people out there who actually translated the game. Before I’d start explaining the editing and my future plans about this project I would like to credit all the people whose hard work helped me in the creation of this as well as kept inspiring me.

About the editing:

All in all the editing of this took me much much longer than I imagined. I think today it has been exactly 4 weeks since I have started working on this. I have 2 jobs so I had only limited amount of time when I could edit, sometimes both before and after work, I tried using all the spare time I had to finish this so I hope that this explains these 4 weeks. (plus I’m pretty slow when it comes to editing, haha)

I tried my best to hide all the Japanese text as much as possible and I was trying to create a similar kind of text flow as the original. Such as keeping the same number of lines in each dialogue, which might look a bit off from time to time since the English text seemed to be shorter than the original one pretty often.

As for the technique which I used to hide the Japanese text, please take a look at my making of.

I ended up using 15 layers overall, which made my laptop extremely crazy and the rendering time was actually more than 20 hours because of that. (My laptop doesn’t seem to like full HD, I should maybe upgrade but hmm... xD)

(Yeah, look at that... beautiful, I know.)

It was still fun though, I’m looking forward to the next part, which will be the beginning of Ayato’s route. I will take the official order of the characters, so it’s going to be Ayato’s, Kanato’s, Laito’s, Shu’s, Reiji’s and Subaru’s route as the last one.

I will only record those choices which lead to the good aka the vampire endings. (but I’m still considering to record the rest of the endings as well just without the choices.)

I’m planning to make a quick trophy guide as well later on, including the translations of the trophy names and descriptions. But luckily the trophies are not complicated at all, for anyone who’s a trophy hunter this will be an easy platinum.
