Hi people, for those wondering, I've been a bit absent here because I've been looking for a job.
Actually, it's been several mouths and even by sending my resume countless of times I still get almost zero replies and none was successful.
So I'm here to ask for your help.
I'm literally doing everything I'm supposed to do: I have an animation diploma, I have my portfolio, I have both experiences making a short and working in videogames. I'm open to even work in motion graphics or clay animation (even tho my speciality is 3D)
...Then why no one reaches out? Am I doing something wrong?
I'm considering starting a freelance career at this point, is it worth it?
When I feel a lot of pressure on my shoulders I like to think about a few things that I'll share here to help others too:
"My path is not your path." The amount of time we take to succeed is different from other people or their expectations. Our dreams and goals are different and require different amount of energy and time.
"My idea of success isn't yours." Meeting other's expectations is hard because we all have different ideas of it; one can feel fulfilled when they get a family on their own, another one might give zero value to it. One can even feel fulfilled after finishing their collection or just by cleaning the kitchen which was a very hard task for them to achieve. One can be successful by being happy everyday...
People's brain maturity isn't reached till at least mid 20s, and at times even 30s or more. If you feel bad for something, think about being a 1 years old adult, -5 years old adult, and so on... We're all requested to be so mature, but we're toddlers compared to the people who require the same level of adult skills as theirs.
Last post for tonight, a bit of a personal reflection, and a big thank you.
I talked to @luainthewild about this before: this is my first proper fandom, and something I'm finding really interesting and somewhat comforting is that I'm kind of young in this fandom.
To be clear, I'm an adult, I turn 20 in July, but the thing is that in my real life, I always fill up the "oldest" roles: I'm the first daughter/child, the older sister, and the oldest granddaughter. I'm always the mentor, role model and guidance figure to the younger kids, my sister and her friends, and always the "responsible one" to the adults who has to shoulder responsibilities, to mediate between them, to meet their expectations (am now realizing that's really fucking unhealthy for me and stopped doing the latter stuff)
So I developed "oldest child syndrome" in every aspect of my life: even with my peers, I'm acting as the older one. And because the age gap with my peers is just a few months, I either feel like the older one, or the exact same age.
And it's hard to be the oldest child: there's such a demand for me to be a "grown-up" when in truth I feel like a fucking kid who doesn't know anything, and when I'm berated for not knowing shit or doing something wrong or whatever because I don't know now, I'm 19, and it's hard, yet the answer is demanded from me
So when I'm making friends here who are adults with more experiences and insights, but the same love and passion as I do towards rwrb, treats me as an equal without demeaning, it's... really nice. To not be belittled, nor demanded more than I have. @rockingtheorange calls me 妹妹, little sister, when in most of my life I have been the 姐姐 older sister. My heart bursted in joy the first time they did so.
I don't know if this is making sense at all or is this just ramble, but yeah.
Thank you guys for earlier in the day, and every time I sought solace here. You guys keep me living, honestly.
Sweet/savoury/spicy: probably savoury but I love spicy🔥
Last thing I googled: an enigma from the game "Professor Layton and the diabolic box" so I could send it to a friend and let her solve it too (cause we both like the game).
I'll leave it here if someone would like to try:
"So let's say today is my day off. If yesterday wasn't also a day off, then I'm off again tomorrow. If, on the other hand, I was off yesterday, then tomorrow I'll have to work.
"Say I worked today, Bummer. If I didn't work two days before today, I'll have to head to work tomorrow. But if I did work two days ago, I'm off tomorrow. Yeow!"
Assuming a 365-day year, and ignoring weekends and holidays, use what Samms said to figure how many days he works in a year.
Last book: Finished reading Wolfs-kinder by Vera Buck and asked myself why my mum keeps gifting me books that aren't my genre...
Relationship status: On a long distance relationship with a princess on the other side of the planet💕
Currently obsession(s): not much lately, went back at learning languages 🇲🇽🇹🇭🇹🇼
@meraki-yao the most adorable person in the world 🥹 thanks for the tag
Currently reading: Wolfs-kinder by Vera Buck (a Christmas present)
Currently watching: Last Twilight (GMMTV series) / Percy Jackson (Disney series)
Currently consuming: pasta :)
Currently craving: corn cocktails I had in Mexico😣
Were you named after anyone?
As far as I know no, in Italian my name means happiness/joy. But the name I chose for myself is named after the ocean ☺ (Talay means ocean/sea in Thai)
When was the last time you cried?
I've been crying at night, before sleeping. I spent a month with my girlfriend and going back to long distance on the other side of the planet hit me harder than a truck🧸
Do you have kids?
Nope, and I don't plan on having them. I'm already struggling managing myself lol
What sports do you play/have you played?
Many when I was little: swimming, tennis, basketball... my parents wanted their children to try many things but I've always been artisty and I stuck to ballet for 5 years, then paused it for a few and came back for another 2/3 years. Then I went for theater ☺🤸
Do you use sarcasm?
Me? No. I don't use sarcasm, I AM sarcasm. But depends on the language I'm speaking honestly (different language - different personality is a real thing lol)
What's the first thing people notice about you?
I've absolutely no idea, but for some reason they always get my vibe wrong. People think I'm cold and quiet but if they earn my trust, I'm very warm and love physical touch
What's your eye color?
Brownish? Idk people have told me they look orange at times (???) or green under direct sunlight 😃 Let's say a light brown? copper maybe???🤭
Scary movies or happy endings?
I like both. Depends on my mood. (One of my fav series is scary with sad ending and all my fav movies are happy endings)
Any talents?
Some would say many, others would say none. I'd say I try my best in everything I do and talent is often a misused concept that only appreciates something you were born with instead of what you've worked hard on (even worse if people call talent the skill you've spend time and tears on)
Where were you born?
Milan 🙂 (fun fact I was kinda ☠ing and doctors had to remove my right kidney cause I had a tumor. All fine ever since tho☺👍)
What are your hobbies?
Many, I mostly make my hobbies collide with my growth in knowledge and working opportunities. Everything from writing, watching videos, playing videogames, listening to music, spending time in nature...
Do you have any pets?
2 meows 🐱🐱
How tall are you?
Shmall! I'm always the smallest one🥲 1,60 m 🤏
Favorite subject in school?
Def art class when I was little, then maybe math cause it has always been very easy for me. (But I used to love a subject depending on the topic and my own willingness to study it lol)
Dream job?
I'm trying to get a job as a 3D animator but it's hard. I just want to work in the cinema industry honestly 🥺 maybe travel from time to time...
A bit late but thank you @meraki-yao for the tag, you're always lovely ☺❤
Tagging someone that I hope hasn't done it yet: @manic-pixie-fever-dream @mylucayathoughts @couldvebeenus @onpurposeilovehimonpurpose
Formal and serious, navy is the color of authority
Dark blue with red dots
Required formality, even alone he still needs to wear clothes suitable for a royal. Red can mean danger or his enclosed love
Red with light blue and white stripes
Public image, wearing red is attention-grabbing and, even if he doesn't want to get public after the emails leak, he's forced to
Royal blue and white stripes again but thinner
Power and authority, it's Henry's moment to stand up for himself and fight for his own future
Yellow roses
Hope and youth, as Henry says, it also has a link to Texas history: "Yellow Rose of Texas" is a popular song since the 1930s with a full story on it's own. (You can read here.) Henry is finally getting the happy future he deserves and can hope for a bright sunny future with the love of his life
Side addition: solid tie is the basic pattern that doesn't add anything to the tie and lets the color speak for itself; polka dot adds playfulness and/or sophistication; stripes mean classic and elegant but can differ from one another (Henry always wears the British type with stripes that run from left shoulder down to the right side)
Affectionate and soft, the adjectives given to the Prince of England's hearts
Blue and white stripes
Formal, navy is the color of authority and power
Blue and light blue stripes (Henry focus pls)
Simple but formal, two colors often used for work settings. Light blue adds friendliness
Grey
Conservative and conformative, add mysteriousness
Orange Copper
Wealth, copper indicates luxury and sophistication
Blue and silver stripes
Grace and elegance, Henry needed to be pretty for his date 💕
Carmine with green stripes
Love, red is associated with passion and sensuality but also prohibition (+ green can indicate outlaw lifestyle)
Sky blue with thin white stripes
Peace, sky blue symbolizes daydreaming and conveys serenity; white is associated with purity
I have many many questions but since some of them are already in this list, I want to mention something different and just because I'm curious, not because it's really relevant (Casey has the ultimate decision for all sequel stuff related and we know most of these questions wouldn't really be answered🥲)
How do you think Henry and Alex would name their daughter/son?
Who would you like to play their daughter/son?
Where do you think Henry and Alex would get married?
What is the hardest decision to make while planning the proposal?
And which raises the strongest bickering while planning the wedding?
Will there be a giant cake? (All money given to charity of course + Alex jokes about selling his shoes too but ultimately actually does it fr)
What was the day in which you (nick&tay) thought "this is it. I believe fully in the potential of this movie"?
When did you realize it wasn't just a movie but changed many lives of many people?
(Purely out of curiosity) what are your thoughts on shipping culture?
What's the happiest/funniest memory you have of each other? (Nick&Tay)
What's the weirdest thing you discovered about each other that totally took you by surprise?
What's the weird thing that you learned to accept? (I remember Matthew mentioning how they learned so much about each other. Even the amount of space to give eo or eo morning routines lol)
Hopefully some of these can be answered by a sequel book itself and real promotional events of the sequel movie.
List of RWRB Questions to Ask the Boys
I don't know if I can make this a thing but I wanna try
I'm curious, especially since with the strike we didn't get any interviews or panels where the boys could talk about RWRB, but what questions about the movie would you guys want to ask Taylor and Nick?
I'll go first:
What scene was emotionally the most difficult to film?
What scene was the hardest to film in terms of technicality?
What's your favourite line?
What were rehearsals like? What did you do during rehearsals?
What do you think was the moment your character started to view their relationship in a different light?
What scene took the most takes?
Is there a scene or a line that you can still remember how to perform to this day?
What's your favourite blooper moment?
Was there a book moment you were really proud to bring to life?
Is there a book moment not in the movie that you think would have been interesting to perform
I think I'll leave this here for now? Definitely will update more if I can think of more
Dedicating this to all the people who's family isn't supportive, it's toxic or simply doesn't do enough.
Biological family isn't everything. Home and family can be found in someone outside the place we grew up in.
Henry found his home in a devastatingly handsome young peasant boy but he never imagined it to happen. He grew up thinking he'd never get to live his life fully and he got everything he had always dreamt of (and more)
Dedicated to all the struggling and/or lost people. @meraki-yao for you too💕
