REAL, these aren't disorders or something needing treatment, we should just structure society to let people who function a lil differently be comfortable too. I have ADHD (diagnosed officially) and I kinda hate calling it a disorder because like. My brain just works differently. Lots of people are like that. It's the fault of society not adjusting properly despite our knowledge of people like me that we can't properly function in society. It's not something to be treated with medication to make you "normal". It's a beautiful quirk of humanity that people are different. I personally refuse to take ADHD meds because we shouldn't be forced into conform with medication to "help"

one of the most enlightening realizations ive had was finding out that non-24 hour circadian rhythm people were a pretty large group and most of us have oddly similar cycles of usually around 28hr internal "days" and this masquerades as "insomnia" but if allowed to sleep and wake naturally we will just advance forward through time an extra 2-4 hours a day at a relatively stable pace. we can't go to school or jobs or even run errands on normal schedules without massive pharmacological and behavioral intervention. most of the people who have been diagnosed or figured it out themselves will report horrific, life-ruining disruption in their professional lives and terrible health from accrued lack of sleep. this disorder is most common in vision-impaired people which seems to suggest it's related to light cues. anyway just thinking about this as extremely loud yard work woke me up at 8am for the second day in a row

this is the same for people's gender. if they say they're a boy, they're a boy. if they say they're a girl, they're a girl. if they say they're neither, they're neither. if they say they're non-binary, they're non-binary. if they say it's a secret, it's a secret. if they say it's none of your business, it's none of your business. stop telling other people what they are, it's not your place to decide.

Hey, Tumblr. Guess what. Relationships are defined by the people involved in them, and that's that. If people say they're friends, then they're friends. If people say they're dating, then they're dating. If they say it's a secret third thing, then that's what it is. Someone else's relationship isn't for you to decide.

wait so you're telling me neutotypical people can just - ignore all of the noise around them? like they can just choose to not hear it? i have a rlly hard time focusing on conversations in public because like - i hear everything. for example if i'm out with people in a restaurant i can't really hear what they're saying because i can also hear the person a table over ordering their food and the birds outside and stacy's kids running around and yelling and the servers talking and someone dropping their fork and the kitchen doors opening and someone two tables over chewing with their mouth open and my own tongue moving in my mouth. apparently people can just tune all of that out? how?? wtf

hot artists don't gatekeep

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

i think my favourite horror trope is what i like to call "it gets better before it gets worse". the evil is seemingly defeated. the worst is apparently over. it was tough, and maybe you didn't all make it out in one piece, but you made it. except that you didn't. you're still infected, still marked. you bring the horror with you wherever you go. and there's no timeframe after which you can say you're safe with any certainty. it might lie dormant for years, just waiting for you to turn your back to it long enough to let it find you again. it knows your scent, now. it can hunt you down wherever you go.
