I hate the trend of just describing books with what minorities the main characters represent and nothing else. not only does it feel weird + exploitative to me it's also such a shoddy ineffective marketing technique. "this is my book with queer polyam disabled vampires you should buy it" ok great but what is it like. about. what are the themes. why should I read it

#an issue I have that is adjacent to this issue is using tropes as a marketing technique #I really like to look at tropes to analyze media I consume or my own taste in media #but unless it’s fanfic where I already know what I’m getting into I feel like tropes are so ineffective for marketing #I don’t care if it’s enemies to lovers and there was only one bed. what is the setting. what is it about. what is the vibe. #what makes it interesting #and the tropes used in marketing rarely make me interested in books. usually seeing someone being very passionate about the content of a #book makes me way more interested in reading it than some random trope that I can go to ao3 for to get my fix

also if you check the ages on their IDs you can calculate that I assume the story takes place in 2012 but this kind of ID was first issued in 2016…….. unfortunately I was in too deep with forging their IDs to start from scratch ✌️

#guess who of the two had those fake IDs made #I failed the address for Chuuya a bit apparently. but the closest symbol on google maps was the attended address #I also thought I failed Dazai’s adress but I nailed that one except if you put that adress in doesn’t show the location I intended. #it’s kinda shown in the reflection of the picture + once the search is removed it actually shows the location #I learned how to properly write Japanese addresses. interesting but confusing #also I think for their fake IDs they would probably use fake names but I didn’t want to come up with them #bsd

just found out that I forgot to rename a variable in my submission for an application test and now there is a variable called “idk” floating around

#the variable is a float hahah floating around! get it? okay I’m silent now #I have this bad bad habit of naming all my variables idk… like idk/idk2/idk3/idkkkk #I didn’t fail the test tho so it’s fine. but I have another interview with them next week and I’ll probably have to reflect and explain to #them that sometimes I name variable idk and forget to properly name them once it’s not a test but a variable I’ll definitely use #another bad habit: naming stuff _Test because I will never make another clean/not test script. it’ll forever stay test and refactoring #all scripts to accommodate for a class rename is not fun at all
