I headcanon Chosen to be the instigator and Dark the follower until Dark got way too into it

The reason why is because all the places they attacked were sites/apps that are popular with humans

I think Chosen was resentful and angry with his treatment from Noogai so he targeted places that human use

The turning point is that I think he realized that by attacking these places, he was also causing harm to other people like him (created characters, stick figures, etc.)

So Chosen became more reluctant to continue and after some convincing, Chosen got Dark to stop and they both moved to the Interspace. For Chosen he eventually came more to terms with himself and maybe even Noogai.

But for Dark, if attacking the web is off the table, what if they went straight to the source? And what better way to start than Alan himself

The Flashback shows us Chosen and Dark being destructive across the web, but it doesn’t really give any indication of why they did this. This leaves us to come up with probable reasons that might fit. It also leaves us to come up with probable reasons why Chosen changed his tune before Dark.

And there are a lot of those XD but while so many of us talk about why Chosen stopped, and what might’ve changed to motivate his shift, I haven’t seen as many suggesting that…maybe, from the start, they were being destructive for different reasons.

I've been doodling ideas for HK themed tarot cards, I may never finish any of them, but I thought I'd share some of my favorite sketches so far :3

I've done quite a few more than these, but I like these ones the best right now

I've put (probably too much) thought into the symbolism of the cards and their elements when making these and I've tried to either stay true to the original symbolism or adapt it to something that makes sense in Hollow Knight. If you're interested in a specific one, feel free to ask! Otherwise I really don't feel like writing all that down lol it is a lot of jumbled ideas.

I'm aware two of the aces are flipped the wrong way I can't be bothered to fix that yet.
