Time Travel AU won in the Klance AU poll on my Patreon - I ended up drawing one proper picture and one doodle, as well as writing some plot that I may turn into a fic!

Okay, I couldn’t just draw a picture, I started thinking what kind of plot it would have.

After Coran tells the backstory of the original paladins in episode 7 Keith and Lance come across [insert sciencey explanation here] a time vortex and decide to go back in time to when Voltron wasn’t built yet and stop Zarkon before he becomes evil. To get close to the paladins they go undercover: Lance gets some glue and fake ears and poses as an Altean; Keith’s half-Galran blood comes in handy and he poses as a Galra. Eventually Lance becomes one of Allura’s babysitters and Keith is Zarkon’s servant. Also they befriend Coran, this is very important.

And to add more klance-ness they ask for the quarters next to each other to be able to discuss their plans freely, and when asked why, your jobs are completely different, they say “uhhh that’s because we’re dating”.

They either stop the comet from striking [they know it’s exact coordinates and can blow it up in the air] or help defeat Zarkon after he betrays the paladins anyway.

Then they either find the time vortex again and travel back to their time to see the universe is at peace, or the vortex was an anomaly that can’t be recreated, so they reveal their true identity to Alfor who gets them a cryopod to sleep for 10000 years. Later the pod is found by Hunk, Shiro, and Pidge who decide to examine weird emissions they’ve picked up. But these are Hunk, Shiro, and Pidge from another timeline and here I have two ideas for the ending too: 1) Keith and Lance don’t exist in this timeline due to a time paradox or they simply weren’t born or 2) they have their own Keith and Lance, and after our Keith and Lance see all five being happy together etc etc they decide it’s not their place and they should just be happy they set one timeline right, so they get a spaceship and travel through the galaxy together.

Also this story should definitely have some angst about losing Allura and Coran they knew, because if they change the timeline it would mean they will have a happy life with no cryopods needed, but that’s a necessary sacrifice.

Also I should probably make the other paladins go through the vortex too… or their friendship could be another sacrifice?

The second pic: Hunk and Pidge find the pod! Because there’s no Galra Empire the Kerberos mission went okay, Shiro, Matt, and Mr. Holt are alive and well, so Pidge never had to cut her hair and make up an alias to join the Garrison (she joined under her own name, although still calls herself Pidge).

Also I’ve realized because there’s no Empire Keith can’t exist here; so maybe there’s a Hunk, Pidge, Lance, Shiro, and Matt friend group instead. …Yes, it will be totally weird for Lance to meet his future self from another timeline and also from 10000 years in the past.
