the thing folks living in Christian dominant cultures gotta realize is that even if you’re not Christian, your basic understanding of religion and spirituality and morality is still being filtered through a Christian lens. your very concept of what religion is and does is filtered through that lens.

#tbh this is something ive been struggling with a lot #having grown up catholic it’s like #i want to get away from it #but everywhere i turn its christianity #but im not areligious #or atheist #but i also struggle with fear of appropiation or doing any religion or people a disservice

Recent Dream:

I’d like to start posting my dreams here more, I have my own journal, but I’d like to put a few here as well, open them up to interpretation:

No read mores we die like-

I don’t recall how this particular dream started, but the clearest start is that I was falling in this huge forest, with tall trees. When I say huge, I mean huge, touching the clouds.

As I was going to hit the ground, I just phased through it, and found myself in the sky once again, falling. I immediately felt dread, knowing I’d be stuck in a loop of falling over and over. I’ve had dreams like that before, where I’ll fall into a body of water and sink down endlessly. It’s not a feeling I particular enjoy, I feel helpless.

Thankfully, I was able to get out of it somehow. I believe I was semi lucid, just closing my eyes and wishing for it to end. So I woke up. I was in my room, but it was tinged green. At that point I was more fully lucid, but still lacking control. My dad came in, but I just told him to go away. I was still trying to get my bearings.

In true dream fashion, things were wonky. He didn’t have eyes, but I personally see that as a lack of full dream rendering, than any sort of meaning. There was a bit of body horror and blood, so I just closed my eyes again, trying to wake up.

I kept wishing but I wasn’t waking up. Eventually I called out to Hypnos, I’m unsure why, my brain refuses to acknowledge the existence Morpheus. I cried out, tears in my eyes, very afraid, and I woke up... or at least I think I did. I was in my room, breathing heavily, things looked more normal.

I fell back into dreams pretty soon after, so I am unsure if I actually woke up, or was granted a reprieve.

That’s not the first dream I’ve had like that. I’m hesitent to apply any sort of deep meaning or connection. It’s not the only time I’ve called out to Hypnos as well. Just seems to be my go to when I’m dreaming.

I think I am the most lost I’ve ever been. Don’t know if I’ll make a more in depth post, but I feel... confused. Alone in the universe, unsure of my path, who I am. Unwelcome. I don’t feel like I belong. That I don’t belong anywhere. And it hurts like hell.

Witchy Wishlists 2019, Year Seven!

It’s December 1st, which means that Witchy Wishlists is here once again!

If this is your first time hearing about Witchy Wishlists, welcome, and please feel free to participate! The  idea is very simple: make a wishlist and post it to the #Witchy Wishlists tag here on tumblr. (And while you’re at it, you should probably tag it #witchy wishlist as well, since we inevitably get people misfiring there as well) 

Then, when you’re done, check the tag and see what wishes you can grant! We only have a few simple rules:

Your wishlist can have up to 13 requests on it!

You’re not allowed to replace items on your post with new ones once you get them. 13 is a big number, and allowing the external wishlists gives you lots of freedom.

Witchy Wishlist 2019 🐶

Hello hello! I’m Kiara and I’m a 21 year old eclectic witch from Florida. My main blog is @spoopyfloofin if you want to get to know me better (it’s all memes), but I’m still a bit in the broom closet so I made this account. Onto the list!

1. Information/Resources - Any information on your experience as a witch is helpful. I struggle a lot with intuition, and feeling things, so any tips regarding homing those skills would be great.

2. Readings - Any reading would be greatly appreciated. Tarot, pendulum, past life, energy, aura. Etc. I also have some questions I could use some clarity on with regard to deities.

3. Friendship - I’m more of an introvert, but it’d be nice to have some occasional conversation. (Bonus if you play MLQC or and Voltage games, don’t really have anyone to talk to about those)

4. Art - I love art! Show me what you’re working on, what ideas do you have? What’s a drawing tip that you swear by? Is there a tumblr artist who inspires you? (it’d be really cool to have some art done of me, like a cute profile pic or just art in general, I don’t have any money rn but still send that commission info my way)

5. Donations - Donate to charity! Doesn’t have to be in my name, support your local community, or a national charity. Team Trees still has a way to go, the Game Theorists are currently live (as of 5pm EST, Dec. 2) raising money for St. Jude. If someone is selling charity merch, treat yourself!

6. Talk to me about dreams - Are you a vivid dreamer? Have lucid dreams? I’ve been having some confusing dreams lately, I’d love to get some interpretations or see if anyone has had similar experiences.

7. Postcards and Culture - Tell me about where you’re from. Send me a postcard or a photo you personally took of something interesting there. Are there any local haunted areas? Places with a spiritual history! Where would recommend people go when they travel there that’s off the beaten path?

9. Be kind to yourself - Take a moment to breathe. Indulge in a guilty pleasure, take a break from whatever you’re working on. Drink some water.

Alternatives to “Blessed be”

Not every witch is comfortable with the phrase “blessed be” being used towards them for a number of reasons, the most common ones being that they don’t wish to have your specific deity’s attention drawn towards them, and they’re not following the same religion as you or even a religion at all. It’s a polite thing to avoid doing in general, but especially if the other person has voiced their discomfort with it. Instead you can use:
