3. What ideas come from when you were little

ideas were brought to me by (mainly) music, media i like, other people's art i see, or what i see (or like) in my life (ex: food, the sky, the moon)—which applies to me in present times. my ideas also came from many general or specific concepts & ideas (ex: fan designs/characters, shipping) that was spread around in fandoms i was in, and also canon lore—which also applies to me in present times. though when i was younger, i loved the the idea of making ongoing AUs and so every night i thought of an "episode" in my head (not being dramatic when i say every night...), slowly building up a universe and creating lore, which is what i was VERY inspired by. i would be inspired by the lore, "episodes" and ideas in these AUs; an example is this fnaf au i was obsessed with for years, and the things that would inspire me were the fan characters i made, shipping, marriages, the animatronic's powers (canon powers and ones i created), yes even pregnancy, and fan children in that AU.

to this day i am sometimes inspired by my own AUs, but not as much as i were in the past

always so disappointed when the brown-skinned character turns out to be only brown because it's a tan

#also let's be honest most pale/fair-skinned people don't naturally tan to the point they're BROWN #yet its such a common occurrence that brown characters are just tanned ... i wonder why my skin tone is only tolerable to see #when it's represented as a ''tan'' or a ''STYLE''. why is my skin tone only tolerable when its on a non-black person #it also weirds me out because ive witnessed a lot of white ppl being brown by artificial tan in order to ''pass'' as racially-ambiguous #brown-skinned characters constantly being pale/fair-skinned characters with a tan severely annoys me to death

One of my favorite subtle cosmic horror elements of The Amazing World of Gumball is that secondary characters are terrified of being boring.  It sticks out, because it'd be more expected for kids to worry that they're "annoying" or "not cool"... boring is an odd choice of descriptor.

In The Storm, Carmen temporarily breaks up with Alan because she fears their "perfect" love is becoming boring.  In The Colossus, Hector is sent over the edge by Gumball telling him he's boring.  Clayton admits his reason for habitual lying is because he's a loser, and all of his true stories aren't interesting.   Tobias feels like he should be entitled to a sidekick and exciting adventures, because he's rich and colorful and he's earned them, and yet his life is mundane.

It's not like they know what happens to you if you're too boring

But maybe they've got a sense of it in the back of their heads.
