Another Affirmation Post Because I Think Systems Need It Right Now

Hello again! I see you're feeling down -- maybe unsure, doubting yourself, or feeling guilt about your identity -- and are in need of a bit of affirmation and validation. I'm here to maybe try and help with that a little bit.

If you're coming across this post, I imagine that your system navigates in its own unique way, and I just wanted to remind you that there's nothing at all wrong with that. There's no reason to feel like an impostor, there's no reason to feel wrong or guilty -- systems vary widely in how they operate, and there's no one-size-fits-all definition of what makes a system "real,"

Whether you and your headmates want final fusion or functional multiplicity, whether your system has many poly-fragmented alters or just a small handful of formed facets, whether your system is composed mostly of fictives and introjects or not, whether your system ascribes to roles or not -- regardless of what others will say or force upon you&, your lived experiences will always be valid.

Your system exists; it is just as real and correct as the emotions you feel.

Don't let comparisons or preconceived notions of systemhood diminish your acknowledgement of your own headmates. Your unique dynamics are your own, and it's time we all learned to embrace and celebrate our individuality a little more.

A Very Specific Post - What Is An Archivist?

User @idontlikegettingintrouble had a lovely question beneath one of our posts, so today, I thought I'd go into a little bit more depth about what exactly an archivist is, what they do, how they help, and where to learn more about them.

Disclaimer: Not All Of This Information Will Be True For All Systems!

The system term archivist comes from the same English word, which means to preserve information or act as a record keeper. While we are aware that Pluralpedia doesn't have the best reputation, here is a Pluralpedia page that goes into a bit more depth on what an archivist may do and how they can help a system.

Ever since we developed a system, one of our longest-standing issues was keeping track of everything until our host decided to take up the role of archivist. In our system, the archivist is someone who takes detailed logs of switches, front histories, and is especially knowledgeable about the way our system works.

Sometimes, a system that is especially large or fragmented can have many archivists, some systems have only one, and some have none. In this system, our archivist often works with our scout to discover and document new information.

For Systems Who Don't Switch Often

Hey there! I see you don't switch very often, and I just wanted to remind you that you're valid regardless. Systems online often seem as though they're switching every twenty minutes, and you should know that a system that experiences more switches than another isn't a 'more system-y system' and it isn't more valid.

This is something that often used to make us feel as though we weren't a real system, or as if we were less valid, but switches are switches. the number of fronters you have, or how often they change isn't a reason for you to deny your own system acknowledgement .

Systems that switch only for a few hours at a time before returning to a host are valid. Systems where the host is the one of the few fronters are valid. Systems that only switch once every several hours are valid. Systems that switch once a day are valid. Systems that switch less than once a day are valid. Systems with alters that get frontstuck easily are valid.

Your system is valid as it is. :-)
