💘 - What is your muse like when they're in love? What does your muse find attractive in someone else? What are their love languages? How do they show affection? Do they show any distinct signs that they're in love?

The easiest question to answer is what he finds attractive in people — he's very obviously attracted physically at first. It's my personal headcanon that Wu is bi, so him hitting on Asami, Korra, and Kuvira are genuine (and genuinely poor) attempts at flirting; he's just absolute shit in charming people romantically LOL. (It's COMPLETELY his fault that he's shit with women LMAO) He's not blind — there are a ton of pretty people in the LoK universe and he's not gonna not shoot his shot if he can. Well, his past self definitely would have; he has a bit more self control now since his focus has shifted to his kingly duties lol.

In the more personality sense, to be quite honest, he finds power attractive. Not just bending (although bending is hot ngl LOL), but force of personality, especially since he's such a force himself. Someone who's more meek definitely won't catch his eye. Sharing witty banter is also very fun. Also he won't admit it, but he doesn't mind someone calling him out on his bullshit; someone that can make him reflect. He is trying to be a better person and while it's not his partner's job to fix him, he's grateful that they want him to be better and will help him do that.

His love language is words of affirmation and quality time, both receiving and giving. He wants to know how his partner is feeling and wants to be around them, sharing in good times and creating memories. Receiving gifts (and acts of service) is a norm for him, so receiving them just feels like a, pun not intended, given when being royalty, so it's not a big deal in his eyes. However, giving gifts, he enjoys doing. Let him shower his partner in wonderful lavish gifts that he took the time to hand pick with his amazing personal taste. Physical touch isn't priority (we'll put it above acts of service and receiving gifts) but that's not to say he doesn't enjoy it — he loves it very much and would spend an entire day in the arms of his partner if his schedule allowed it.

Signs that he's in love besides openly flirting LOL? (jk him blurting out flirty lines like how he is in Book 4 is not "love"). But seriously: Simply wanting to spend more time with whoever he has his eyes on, making sure they're having a good time with him as well as he can. Honestly, he'd probably be caught daydreaming about them when he's not with them because when he's actually in love (aside from physical attraction) he's a bit more inward and self-reflective with it until he's positive his feelings are reciprocated — then he'll be more vocal about it, test those waters.

Hell no, he can't cook or bake LOL. He had the means of not just ordering food itself, but also ordering people around, all his life basically, so why would he try to even attempt to step foot into a kitchen.

As his goal is dissolving the monarchy, he does have thoughts about how life would be away from the throne. Where is he going to live? Will he still have the support he does now? Will he still have the money that supports his current lifestyle? Should he start learning how to cook for himself? So on and so forth. Though due to the pace it's currently going at, he does wonder if it'll happen in his lifetime.

BACKSTORY.

hadis had always believed she would live and die in the true north, a life destined for so many like her. the fifth child of twelve, two brothers lost to the raids south of the wall. another one lost climbing it. one sister who died of sickness, another in childbirth. the north was harsh and could be wicked, but it was all she had ever known.

she was stolen away at seventeen, fought tooth and nail, and lost. married into a clan who enjoyed their raiding more than their wives, not that hadis was complaining. her husband of six months died in the south, and hadis quietly moved on. she continued her role as a spearwife in the clan; learning, training, fighting, and killing.

the idea had been hers, a quick quip about knowing when it would be best to attack. she had been ignored and heard. but eventually, someone had entertained the idea, and she was sent to the other side of the wall. she gathered her resources, planned for the right moment, and left. she knew she might never come back, and yet she gladly got on the boat that sailed her to death.

the timing was perfect, chaos of ended war masked her entrance. she traveled the new land with directions from previous raids. spent months in the woods until she stumbled upon the mountain clans, who looked more wildling than the rest. they welcomed her and made a show of hospitality. and soon hadis found a place to stay, it helped keep her hidden under a disguise. close enough to know the workings of the men on the other side.

marriage soon was proposed, one that hadis hesitantly took. she had been with the clan as a woods witch, healing wounds with medicines of the earth, bringing babes from their mothers' wombs. older men often believed every word from her, believing her words were visions of truth. hadis was married after a few months with clan harclay. a year later, hadis had her own child, one that she never wanted. a boy named ras.

NOW.

hadis hadn't expected all that has conspired over the three years since she sailed around the wall. with the tensions of the realm, she still hasn't been able to gather all she wishes to share with her fellow free folk. she feels that she needs to get closer in order for her mission to be a success, and has been given the opportunity to do some as a lady in waiting for princess cassana stark.

A Response to Jason Schreier’s “How Anthem Went Wrong”

For those who are unaware, on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019, Jason Schreier published an article that detailed the production history of Bioware’s newest IP, Anthem. This has been very controversial amongst the fans of Bioware, and, before reading my response to it, I recommend that you read Schreier’s article for yourself.

In truth, I’m surprised by the fan response to the article. I’ve seen many people on Tumblr, Twitter, and Reddit seemingly eager to defend Bioware, to pan Schreier, and to suggest that the article contains falsified information. I understand why this article has caused great agitation: it contains information that may be quite shocking, and the fact that response has been so strong shows that people truly care about Bioware and its staff. 

For this reason, I implore fans of Bioware: if you care about this studio, look beyond the finger-pointing, the name-dropping, the production drama—what’s done is done, and Anthem has shipped. Instead, bring your focus to what I believe is the more important piece of this article: the Bioware staff are suffering for their work. To pull the quotes I found the most heart-wrenching from the article: 

“One former BioWare developer told me they would frequently find a private room in the office, shut the door, and just cry. ‘People were so angry and sad all the time,’ they said. Said another: ‘Depression and anxiety are an epidemic within Bioware.’” 

Here’s another: 

“‘I actually cannot count the amount of ‘stress casualties’ we had on Mass Effect: Andromeda or Anthem,’ said a third former BioWare developer in an email. ‘A ‘stress casualty’ at BioWare means someone had such a mental breakdown from the stress they’re just gone for one to three months. Some come back, some don’t.’”

How comfortable do you personally feel in supporting the content of a company whose people are going through intense emotional trauma and stress in order to perform their jobs? Can you honestly enjoy something that has brought others that level of pain? Unfortunately, cases like those we are hearing about at Bioware are far too common in the gaming industry; Bioware is just one more studio whose method is clearly broken. When we complete a game that we love, watching the credits roll is a time to reflect on the people who worked together to bring that game to its final version. I cannot imagine the pain felt by those who cannot feel proud of the hundreds to thousands of hours of work they contribute to such a massive project, knowing how much stress it caused in their lives. It will likely take these developers who experienced a “stress casualty” months, or even years, to fully recover.

There is no one person who is at fault for Anthem’s difficult production and the subsequent effects it had, but, at this point, as the majority of the studio is shifting its focus to the next major production (the unnamed Dragon Age game), Bioware needs to learn from its mistakes. I cannot see anything constructive that can come from defending Bioware’s management and its failed projects out of love for the studio. If you love Bioware, I feel it is important that we show that love by expressing that we care about the health and happiness of the developers and that they are shown respect in the workplace. I cannot stand by another Dragon Age title if it comes at the expense of those who made it. Bioware needs to change, and the gaming industry needs to change with it. As fans, we can stand in solidarity with those who have been harmed by the flawed practices of these gaming studios; blindly defending them now will only do more harm in the long-run.

So, once again, I implore you: take your love for Bioware and support them by showing that you care about its employees. No matter how long the next game takes, we should be content if we know that its developers are pouring their passion and expertise into a project that leaves them with satisfaction and pride.

As Wu is currently working on spreading democracy across the Earth Kingdom States, this is the most that he's ever traveled in his life. Obviously he made a big move from Ba Sing Se to Republic City to attend Republic City University, but I never really imagined him traveling too much before college.

This type of travel is not... his ideal reason to travel since it's of course for Work™, but he would love to travel more for recreation. Since he's had a lot of personal growth, being able to witness and absorb cultures for the sake of actually learning and appreciating them — versus only seeking out luxuries and comfort (if he were a modern day influencer, for the 'gram, if you will) — would be more in the forefront of traveling.

If anything, he's glad that the Future Industries updated the rail system between Republic City and the Earth Kingdom.

I would say his preference is to be with people when traveling, ideally because it's nice to share the joy of traveling and he's also extremely extroverted, so he thrives in the company of others, but I think it's more so he's used to always having someone with him due to needing protection as a royal.

It feels a little silly to say Republic City is his favorite place to travel because he lived there, but since it's such a hub for a blend of cultures and whatnot, he loves it a lot.
