Feel free to ignore this if you want,but as you're someone who posts your art online and shares your experiences with games for a while (which has been a delight) do you have any advice for people who hesitate to do things (like drawing,playing games etc) bc of mental health or past experiences that can cause trouble (from little to allot) emotionally or mentally?What helps you push through negative thoughts that can be like a annoying fly when you're wanting to do something you enjoy,or for someone that may struggle with heavy association or guilt issues any advice would be really appreciated!
i perhaps dont have the best way to go about things but often i visualize tumblr and posting to be dropping my art and opinions into the void. i tend to not think about things hard or at all once i do so. i posted it and now its gone. onto other things. <- he ignores everything. if i think about my follower count too hard i think ill throw up.
it seems like you might have a lot of mental blocks one way or another, and maybe youre worried about others perceiving you one way or another and being guilty about that? if you want to try to get into posting and break thru the things that give you anxiety, perhaps you need to find the reason youre blocking yourself. maybe start an art blog completely separate from your current blog and just start tossing things out onto it. or if youre nervous about seeing your own art, integrate posting original posts (art or commentary) into your regularly scheduled reblogs. you can "hide" your art posts under reblogs of other posts. sometimes i do this where ill make texts posts or reblog things to bury posts ive made.
but im not a therapist and im not privy to any of the specific traumas youre going thru or working with. i think when i have negative thoughts i try to conceptualize it and often i organize and box it up, post a quick vent, or chew it up in my mouth and spit out some art as im trying to work though things. it might not be helpful but thats all i can think to suggest! good luck friend

People treat me like a kid.
Im in my early 30s. Ive been working since graduation, supporting myself, making my own money,no husband of boyfriend helping me pay my bills.
I am a nurse. Ive seen shit. People died in front of me. I was resuscitating. Ive cleaned shit off people's asses. I have already some health problems.
Yet people treat me like a kid, I just slightly mention Ihave backpain and they go like "from what?" as if young person in their 30s had to be like a robot who is capable of working 24/7,
they force to me eat stuff I dont want, like when Im at a party or some family gathering or work meeting and there is food, I say I dont like that food, but they keep going like "try it youll like it" what am i 5 years old????? You think i cant make my own decision???? Maybe i already ate it and thats how i know i hate it? I even told once i cant eat seashells cos I'll get sick abd those people said "thats nonsense i eat them and im fine"
I dont think that needs commentary. THEY are fine eating them so i must be too. And they force me to try the food, from all sides, like im 5 year old, ive even had people throw that stuff on my plate.
And im trying to say politely to them I dont wanna eat it. Until i literaly explode and say "stop! Im not eating it!" And guess what? Im the bad guy then cos Im shouting and they "just wanted for me to try it". Again. Few even ignored when I mentioned I had allergy.
When Im quiet around someone, just being on my phone, minding my own business or going thru a magazine, I dont wanna talk to anyone cos Im introvert and I hate people, people always try to start convo with me, they are uncapable of reading my body language, that I clearly dont wanna be bothered, they ask me annoying completely useless questions,
and this one even once said (coworker, to another coworker) that I refused to talk to them. Refused? Bitch nobody asked you to start a convo with me. I was minding my own business on my phone, you were the one uncapable to stay quiet.
And if I do talk to people and casualy mention my backpain or something, I am told "from what? Youre young". So why should I talk to people if i get no understanding, just mockery and being put down? Yeah sure. Im 32 and I lay in my bed all day and money pours into my bank account itself.
Or at a family gathering. I go to kitchen cos idk sauce is still not cooked so I go and start preparing it. And some older female relative comes and stands beside me and immediately starts lecturing me how to cook it. As if i didnt know! Im not cooking for the first time! At least if i was doing it wrong but im not! Im roasting onion and that relative starts telling me what to do with it next. Why????? I know what im supposed to do! And btw i brought some food that i cooked and its already on the table and they all love it. So logically if i can make the pork so delicious I CAN COOK A FUCKING SAUCE!
I am a child to people. Despite my age and making my own money with noone's help.
Then they all wonder why I dont go to their birthdays and why I dont visit them etc.
And as i said its not only relatives. Its collegues, patients, everyone. Cos I did have some patients asking for older nurse when I was going to change their catheter.
Fuck people. Fuck everyone.

im thinking of doing some commentary/rambling about these when i post them so bear with me. (under cut)
this one is another sort of style test and i started to mess around with how i draw his hair because i fell like i dont quite capture the M shape he has going on. i also really struggle with suit jackets because ive been ignoring my need to get an actual reference. overall, id say he lacks the sleazy factor here. and eyebrows uh whoops. at some point maybe ill talk less about the drawing and more about this account and my love for mob psycho specifically thru an artistic lens but,, later

i love designing and humanizing characters as its a real fun brain exercise and such, but humanizing the hk characters has really given me a lotta gusto that perplexes even me ?? either way im not complaining its very fun and im glad to elaborate on all (bc its a bit much) the thought that went into these!!

in this post i’ll be talking about inspirations and show off the designs of the knight, hornet, quirrel, thk, the dreamers, and some less polished higher beings designs -- and go over it all with my neverending commentary! everything's under the cut in order to spare y'all's dashes LMAO
one must begin with groundwork. try to figure out what aspects of the character you want to be most important. do you want their silhouette to be immediately recognizable? are you inspired by a particular time period or region, or want to set it in that time period or region? do you want to prioritize colors? are you willing to let go of silhouette / direct visual relatability in lieu of emphasizing personality in the little details of appearance? try to strike that balance and see what is to your taste.
you should also consider how seriously you want to take things. will you consider things down to material and essentially fabricate hallownest's textile economy or do you just want to ball off of vibes? (i like incorporating historical garments and feels into things because i think they're neat, but i do get silly here. maybe i'll bow to my inner desire to ground everything some day and take another stab at, well, all of this.)
there are some things you can easily render turning bug to person (as i love diverse face shapes so you’ll see a trend of pointy in game, pointy here) and some that are much harder. either you can go for what is straightforward and easy for someone to be like “oh hornet head shaped mask! that must be hornet!” or you can not do that! your humanizations, your rules. hollow knight has a very simple, curve and shape-based art style, so you can incorporate a lot of subtle details on that! you can also do any other motif and really lay into it -- if you look at my monomon i have all these that are jellyfish-esque: her gown shape, her choker, her braids, the embroidery on her gown, etc.
or you can ignore all my advice and do what you want! i’m not the boss of you.
so , FIRST THINGS FIRST: aesthetic inspirations ! i did a few passes based on a variety of regions but i decided go with a pre-modern era european influence, largely because of the general influences and vibes i saw in the in-game architecture and appearances for things and places. i decided to land my inspirations anywhere from the 1500s to late 1700s / veery early 1800s, though im just aiming for fantastical with a heavy side of inspiration.
i decided to have individuals from before the fall of hallownest have look inspirations from Later in this time frame with those after being Earlier to get this kind of ‘technology and society has backslid’ idea. that, and because i thought the aesthetics of later monarchist europe -- l’ancien regime and all that, if you will -- quite fitting with hallownest right before its fall. because of this extremely broad time frame (300 years!) and also me just generally not trying to be concerned with ‘historical accuracy’ as this is both non-historical and very fantastical, there’s going to be a mess of silhouettes and such -- though i do love a rich deep dive into history, this is a time for fantasy fun and nonsense :-)
i decided to constrain myself with a few internal rules: one being the inspirations i draw on, and another main one being regarding masks. i decided to restrict mask wearing to as little as possible -- no shade to people who include masks in their gijinkas! i think they look wonderful with them And are lore relevant! but i felt like me, personally, using masks would keep me at times from being at the very top of my design experimentation game. so, as a little sort of fun challenge, i’m keeping away masks as much as possible in these people’s everyday wear. this means it is harder to keep silhouettes, but my priority is less 100% sticking close to silhouettes (though that is something to consider) and more evoking enough motifs and such to where they’re recognizable.
SO LET’S BREAK DOWN SOME DESIGNS!

Image Description: A reference sheet with various views of a humanized Knight. They’re a pale little humanoid thing armed with a shortsword, their skin and hair that same color of off-white, and always maintaining that same wide-eyed, small-mouthed, and neutral (yet almost determined?) look. They’re dressed in virtually rags from neck to boots, and all dark colors - navy blues, greys, dark brown leather, and even the deepest blacks. Charms are studded to their outermost cloak (and there seems to be a pair of vestigial, black-soaked wings under said outer cloak). They have a flat, square face, and a flat, square nose, though their corners are blunted. Their hair should be straight but it has gone long unbrushed; it stops in bangs at their forehead then cascades to their chin, where it hugs their jaw, especially at two points on the left and right where two ticks stick out on each side.
They can be seen also wearing headgear: a chainmail hood with old, yellowed horns poking out at either temple. They are also shown with their hair up in a little bun, or in two pigtails remniscient of their canon horns (one can thank Mato!). There is a little drawing of their exposed arm, showing how all their joints are harshly segmented, as if an insect or porcelain doll. In the corner, their dark shade chases after them. End ID.
an idea i wanted to play with for the knight -- and any of the vessels, for that matter -- is that of the uncanny. they are almost human! (as im approaching these humanizations with the idea of ‘human au’ and less so ‘everyone must be humanoid’, the higher beings are markedly less human here. ill get to that in a bit.) i decided to go for the concept that the knight is a living porcelain doll -- hollow, white, uncanny. they’re probably not shiny -- their surface probably feels like it was once porcelain smooth but is now ever so slightly abraded -- and theyre also not LITERALLY a doll. they do have a crackable exterior, yes, and are hollow, yes, but their segmented joints and such are less ‘doll’ and more ‘insect exoskeleton segments’. thank their dad (though i always thought he was more of a tapeworm / platyhelminth. but that aside--)
them being this humanoid non-human lends to some fun details! this is an example i like but is extraordinarily hard to communicate thru just stylized art: their eyes cannot close as they have been ‘carved’ that way & their pupils are just a hole into their void interior, and thus if you look at their face at an angle or profile you can see a little ridge / rim of the thin layer of their eye-white ‘porcelain’. they are also virtually dressed in rags, though the bottom cloak layer of those rags are wing-shaped, but still vestigial w/o the monarch wings, like in-game. and the two little hair-ticks on either side of their chin are meant to evoke their horns! :-)

Image Description: Various views of a humanized Hornet. She’s a thin, lithe person, with a long thin face wider at the top than the bottom and a thin chin. She has four eyes, and four arms. She has brown skin, with the exception of a patch of pale skin in the shape of her canon head right over her nose, with the ‘horns’ extending up into her scalp. There’s a flash of white coming from her forehead amongst her curly black hair, which is tied back into a bun by a hairtie shaped like two lightly curving pale horns. She has a long and pointy nose with a thin bridge, but it is crooked slightly. She largely has an unimpressed and stern look on her face.
She wears a bright red cloak with three weaverling buttons on the front, and white embroidery on the collar, back, and hem. The design on the back is a heavily stylized spider: a round body of eyes, with floral arms extending out from the junction between the body and the curving leaf-mandibles. Underneath her cloak she wears a white top with gold embroidery down the center (that goes up her neck to the underside of her jaw, and can be optionally decorated or plainly wrapped in white) and a bodice that is black on the sides but gold and white in the center at her torso. Tied to her belt is a silver chatelaine with sewing supplies. She has red puffy sleeves, slitted to show white fabric showing through, and black forearm-length fingerless gloves. There are a few more sketches: one of her with a double-horned hennin (her formal wear, maybe she wore when young), one of her as a child shouting excitedly for her ma, and a tiny her standing unimpressed next to a wide-eyed Knight. End ID.
hornet was kind of difficult, particularly because… of her head shape… but i fired out several solutions! the double-horned hennin (the funny two-cone hat) is from history, though the idea was scrapped as i imagine hornet in the present, as you see her, would not be of a mind to wear such finery. thus, i decided to give her a hairpiece shaped into horns, to evoke that silhouette. much more practical. (same idea goes with her patch of pale skin.)
as i mentioned this is a not-strictly-humans scenario, so i decided to splurge on the weavers and spiders and give them some differing anatomy, ie some extra arms and eyes. as a treat. i havent entirely sussed out (lol) the exact logic of her wear -- turns out making real things fantasy makes them, construction-wise, rather odd -- and is always subject to change. hornet wears things rather simple, for practicality reasons; and though her outfit is highly fictionalized (lmao) her garments under her cloak are somewhat based off of the portraits by cranach the elder. (all weaver clothings generally would feature repeating shoulder puffs. not leg-of-mutton style, but moreso in the image of the 1530s-40s. you'll see this more on herrah.)
the knight is a bit too ’young’ to have these features be quite apparent so they are the exception, but the trend with the ‘pale lineage’ is that of very pointed chins, long faces, and thin long noses. you'll see this on the hollow knight and the pale king, and you almost see this with hornet. she is still somewhat her father's creature, though he was never quite in her life.

quirrel was both easy and hard. to mimic his segments i decided to give him plate armor -- reasons for this are fairly obvious i imagine LMAO (segments!) (though his armor isn’t based on or accurate to any particular armor style. this is because i do not like drawing armor.) for his outfit pre-fall of hallownest, i gave him some breeches and leggings, as is typical for his very regency / turn of the century inspirations, but those give him the effect of white legs. to sort of mimic the black legs he has in-game, i instead gave him black thigh gaiters! i could have gave him long boots (and i imagine he did have a pair) but 1 i liked the gaiters more 2 i forgor :(
a fun little add-on eagle-eyed viewers (?? i feel like a youtuber saying that) may spot is that the brooch on his neckcloth is an isopod shell! in some illustrations i draw this brooch directly on the cloth / above the knot and not on the draped part. no man would wear a stickpin / brooch like that on his tie in real life. i just don’t like drawing knots. younger quirrel also features more teals and greens in his design, along with gold accents, to fit more with the archive’s colors. (even in the present day, hidden under his headscarf, he uses a green ribbon to tie his hair back.)
honestly, he and monomon were the main reasons i decided to extend the period outside of late medieval. it’s their fault! not only did monomon fit really well to the dress silhouette of one of these later decades, but i really wanted quirrel to have a napoleonic / regency feel. this is largely because with the enlightenment there came the rise of natural philosophers and the scientific sorts of fellows, which have become sort of their own iconic archetype in the public consciousness (and in fiction. stephen maturin my beloved.) i thought that would fit him well, and so i went for it.

Framing their face on either side are two slightly shorter bits of hair with three little spikes on each.
As the Pure Vessel, they stand straight and tall, completely cloaked in deep grey cloaks and holding a broadsword in firm gloved hands. Over their cloak is pale silver-white armor, with three-layered spaulders, a cuirass, and a helmet with large horns. Holding the Radiance within them, their cloak is torn and their armor and helmet are gone, with their hair splaying out loose. One of their boots is missing, exposing a segmented leg. Their right arm is gone, and a crack runs down their face down their forehead, into their eye, and down their cheek, exposing a bright yellow light from within. Still, they clutch their sword. In a corner of the image a tiny Hollow Knight looks with wide eyes at an even tinier, shouting Hornet. End ID.
the hollow knight’s design was fairly straightforward as i had figures out their siblings before them. even their armor -- which has been pointed out to be largely ornamental and they do not actually use it when fighting -- was easy to transpose. i was, admittedly, trying to avoid helmets (especially those that completely cover the face, though their’s isn’t) largely because i just dislike drawing them, but i felt i really HAD to with the hollow knight and so i just went for it !
i purposefully gave them a sort of gangly and out-of-proportion feel to them -- i like to think their grace is that of a stick-legged bird, like a heron or flamingo... someone stretched them in taffy help! /j but it also speaks to their true delicacy and fragility - both emotionally and literally. they’re a perfect hollow creation, but could very easily fall... or something like that !
but-- yeah, as i mentioned earlier, their design was a natural conclusion to come to from that of their relatives, so there’s not much new to say about them!
next, let’s look at the dreamers!

Herrah is a tall brown and broad-set, wide-shouldered woman. She has six eyes and an aquiline nose, and curly hair; on her head she wears a horned metal helmet and a dark blue bandanna covering the lower half of her face. From her neck there is a waist-length dark blue-grey cloak that cascades out behind her back. She wears a pale grey-blue doublet with a full skirt; on her arms there are rows of pinched pale fabric to look puffed, and her forearms are covered in dark grey fabric to the knuckles. She has striped grey spanish breeches and black hosen and shoes. One pair of arms is crossed, the other pair of arms rests on the hilt of a thin sword.
Lurien is a short brown man with an upside-down droplet shaped head. He has very short wavy hair and a long straight nose; a large teardrop shaped mouche is placed at the bridge of his nose and between his eyes. He has a navy blue cloak draped over his entire body; underneath he has a white circular millhouse ruff that hugs close to his neck, a black doublet, black breeches, and white hosen. He has two strings of beads: around his neck with a king’s idol, and in his hands -- which hold each other -- with a silver pomander.
Monomon is a tall black woman with an oval-shaped head, a wide nose, and a long, thin neck. She wears a rather unadorned teal gown with a wide, almost bell shape skirt, split down the center. At the top of the bell meeting the waist are two layers of teardrop shapes in light cyan fabric emitting out, similar to those on a jellyfish. At the bottom of the bell are more cyan embroideries, this time of floral motifs in the general shape of jellyfish. Her sleeves can either be puffed (for inaccuracy but design fun) or unpuffed (for accuracy) and then drape to the elbow, and she wears forearm-length white gloves. Her stomacher is green, with lighter green designs: four eye-like ovals, two smaller ones on top of the larger ones, with floral decorations around them. She has a dark blue headscarf, but seen coming out of it are four braids. End ID.
first to clarify: monomon’s braids are floating so you can see her gown easier! it’s not literal :-) second to clarify: in this sort of little half-baked au-thing i decided to make their masks a part of the spell. that is, their mask is one of the seals binding them to their slumber, and all that good rot. this means they follow my no-mask rule when not sleeping AND their masks remain relevant (namely, quirrel taking monomon’s mask to her.)
the dreamers are all based off of different centuries and it is pretty easy to tell with them standing side by side, hah! hell, they even go in order: herrah i largely based on the 1500s, lurien the 1600s, and monomon the 1700s...! that was unintentional.
herrah largely has this kind of puffiness to her body segments in the game, and so my first thought was immediately: 1500s style puffs. the sleeve puffs (as also seen on hornet, and they were often slitted. think the og disney snow white!) and also the very wide and puffy breeches (which i always thought were hilarious). unlike hornet’s hairpiece, i gave her a helmet to show her horns! i felt it fit her more than it did hornet -- maybe it’s just me, but i feel like hornet wouldn’t be one for metal armor. in formal or dressy wear she likely switches the helmet for a headdress like a hennin or escoffion.
however, i am feeling not 100% satisfied with her design as it is right now, though i do think it works on the levels of thought i put into the other designs. i dunno! i’ll change it when i feel like it -- such is the nature of these :-)
ngl i put the least effort into lurien out of the 3 dreamers… sorry king i just don't care much about you comparatively… im pretty content with his design though! i decided to base him off of the more subtle and understated north europe fashions, as i felt they’d fit him. however, the bigass ruff is the biggest staple of this design for me (in my mind at least!) it’s drawn from the period and it also introduces a big round shape into his general design (when his in-game design is literally Round + drapey cloth LMAO)
i decided to have him wear largely black to show status! normally in this time period richer folks would wear black - which may seem odd and plain to us but is rather telling of status as rich, deep black is quite hard to dye. however i still gave him a dark blue cloak to more allude to his ingame design.
i imagine he is devout from the few bits of in-game characterization we get -- hence the idol. he also has a pomander! they were medieval scent-objects thought to keep away miasma, or plague air. (they contained strong scents! it was for the same reason plague doctors stuffed their beaks with herbs: good scents keep away bad air! or so they thought.) i draw people with them a lot -- i just think they’re neat things and one of my favorite medieval objects :-)
as for the thing on his face - a mouche! what are mouches? i recommend you watch mina le's wonderful video on the subject -- she could explain it far better and in a more entertaining way than i.
i had SO MUCH FUN with monomon! (and i think that’s easy to see, hah!) dresses and gowns from the latter 1700s (though not yet regency like quirrel is -- dresses got kinda tube-shaped in regency) really do give the look of a jellyfish bell. a thin waist (comparatively speaking from the wideness of her dress -- though one can also look to the corset) would mimic monomon’s sort of thin neck (??) you see right before the grey-blue cloth in her in-game design. and since she isn't wearing a mask here, i put the imagery of the two pairs of eyes on her stomacher instead! wide puff and then pinching / thin segments is kind of the theme of her entire design - in her dress, in her sleeves (though it's innacurate and also optional tbh), even in her neck and head. sort of bowling ball -esque i suppose! (sorry monomon.)
her braids being similar to her tentacles was an idea i believe inspired by @valdotpng​ 's depiction of her, and it's a great idea ! another allusion to jellyfish is the four little oval shapes i put on the skirt of her dress, to mimic that on jellyfish. (those are, in fact, their gonads.)
i haven’t drawn them, but if you or i were to draw them while in sleep then there would be cloth completely covering their shoulders and up, and the mask over where their face would be. just like in game !
last but not least i have some tentative sketches of some higher beings !

The Pale King is a segmented worm with several rows of arms; he wears a rather simple white robe with embroidered trim. He has a svelte, high-cheekboned face, with a long aquiline nose and long straight hair with some pulled back in a bun -- his entire surface, skin and hair, is entirely pale white. Atop his hair he has a spiked crown. However, that human face is a false magical add-on; this ‘face’ is detachable, with the true head and mouth at the ‘crown’.
The White Lady is a large tree-woman; she has a oval face and delicate, pointed nose, but out of where her hair would be if she were a human extends out innumerable tree branches out in every direction. from the branches and to her face and downward are dignified wrinkles of bark. She is, however, restrained and bound in magical cloth.
Unn is a large hunched woman, her form covered almost completely in water plants that droop down to the lake she comes out of. Amongst the shadows of the fronds peeks a weary smile, though all else is covered. However, out of the plants peeks out two eyes on stalks. She is smiling down at a very small Knight.
The Radiance’s face is entirely obscured in darkness, and long hair flows down from her sun-ray crown. Out of her back come countless moth wings, large and small, each one covered in countless eyes of various sizes, though the lower wings turn into longer ray-like fronds. From under the wings comes a long-nailed hand, which is held up to her hair-covered chest. End ID.
outside of the pale king and mmmaybe the white lady im rather unsure about these...!!! radiance i’ve barely thought about -- so ill have to work on her a bit more ! this is more of a sketch of general motifs and the direction i wanna go in
as aformentioned i wanted to take more non-really-human designs for the gods. they’ve just got a different spin on their in-game motifs, with ‘humanoid’ added to the blender as well. for example-- the pale king is still the rather insectoid-wormoid-wyrm that he is in the original, but what he is trying to do here is appear like that of a man and not a common bug. (an extra thought tidbit: the lines on his face and wyrm body are meant to evoke the seals of binding, though they’re rather simplified here they’d be more detailed in an actual polished picture.)
since they aren’t meant to be human we get fun stuff like literal tree woman white lady, and all that !! it’ll be fun to think some more on it.
NOW, that’s it for the characters for this post! i’ll go over more if people want ‘em lmao but i cant let this post go on forever HAH....
a few more scrap thoughts:
1 there is a common thread amongst Hallownest clothing, despite the decade differences, that i want to keep in mind when drawing these characters, to maintain consistency and believability that they're from the same region. the main thing is embroidery and just general decorative choices! i’ve tried to involve a mix of straight and curvy lines (heavy emphasis on lines in these designs in fact) along with floral motifs. though not a direct inspiration, try thinking about the motifs of real life period decorations, paired with the swirling curves balanced with geometric / curved / straight lines of the ui menus and such in the game !
2 hallownest would still have insectoid iconography in its art and its architecture -- the gods they worship are still rather insectoid, after all. and there is still no reason they wouldn't use insects in their iconography the same way european cultures have historically used bird and mammal motifs. as for what their architecture would be -- i think in game is a perfectly fine, but also i’d tentatively throw the dart at gothic with some dashes of late romanesque.
3 my art, me drawing these designs, is horribly inconsistent. that’s fine with me!! these are all for fun -- i think putting metric tons of thought into these are fun, as much as i think making tweaks depending on how i’m feeling is fun.

The buzzing from your phone invades your dreams until you fuzzily become more conscious. You realized half awake that bees do not vibrate, and therefore your phone -- YOUR PHONE! It's ringing!
You pick up not looking at the time or contact who's called you, "Hello?!"
"Ahh~, you finally picked up. I thought you were ignoring me."
Your voice still thick with sluggishness tries to laugh it off. "Sorry, I was dozing off."
"Eh, you must go to bed pretty early huh? I said I would call, didn't I? Here I thought you valued my time and would wait up for me."
You frown and hold the phone to your ear. "You know I do, Totty. More than anything."
"Then next time pick up on the second ring, okay?" Todomatsu's tone feels lighthearted like a suggestion but his words are more than a command. You feel angry, mostly at him and only a little at yourself for being a teensy - not a lot - bit turned on by him.
After a few seconds of silence Todomatsu charmingly asks in a low voice, "Hm? What's wrong, Y/N-chan? Cat got your tongue?"
The confidence in his voice sends shivers down your spine once more. When you open your mouth to speak you croak softly. You hear Todomatsu laugh at this, "I'm sorry, it's more like a frog in your throat then?"
"You sound so good… " You breathed out the words, not intending for him to hear them. This is between you and Akatsuka-sensei.
"Is that so?" Todomatsu asks and you feel the color drain from your face. "I think your voice is so much better though, I could listen to you all night." Of course with those words your face is back on fire and you want to scream for joy.
You suck in a breath subtly trying not to squeal when Todomatsu asks, "When am I going to see you again?"
"Soon, I promise." Truth be told you want to see this devil as soon as possible but you don't want to seem desperate nor do you have the funds to waste. Rents coming up soon after all.
"How soon?" You scratch your head at this question from Todomatsu, "Umm, after finals?" That should definitely be after rents due! You'll even set aside some money to play around with, you'll call it your Totty budget!
"Aren't finals next week, that's too long from now." Todomatsu's voice sounds strained, "I need to see you sooner than that." The urgency and slight desperation in his voice has your heart twisting excitedly.
You hope to God that his manipulation will always be this sweet.
You giggle oh so nervously and say, "How could I say no to that?"
"I can't have you forgetting about me and getting a boyfriend from school after all."
You want to tell him about the guy you turned down, but instead you deny the possibility of seeing someone else. "I won't!" You cut in with finality.
Todomatsu laughs almost out of breath and you realize how it sounds like he might be walking somewhere.
"So, what were you doing before you fell asleep? Were you waiting for your prince, my sleeping beauty?"
Todomatsu is just too cute!! You're going to kill him, or least take a bite out of his arm to see if he tastes as sugary sweet as his words are.
"I'm studying, or at least was."
"Am I distracting you?" Todomatsu teasingly asks, and your head spins out of control.
Before you could properly articulate yourself your gums are flapping, "Nono! I wanted to talk to you!"
Todomatsu laughs lightly, "Wanted to talk to me, huh? You fell asleep though, Y/N-chan." Todomatsu's still teasing you and you in turn pay attention to every syllable. The way his voice is lower, the way he stresses out each word, the light hoarseness when he spoke, none of it escaped your perception.
You can’t help to stutter out your question, hoping just in your heart that your affections are returned. "Wh-what about you…?" Todomatsu hums out, "What do you mean, Y/N-chan?" You're going to fucking scream!
"D-did you...want to talk to me...on the phone too?" Your eyes are clamped shut and your face is alight with shame and embarrassment. How can somebody as cringy as you get with Todomatsu? You have no shot!
"Yeah I did, you have a nice voice. Plus I wouldn't have given you my number if I didn't."
You sigh in relief, "You're kind of dense, huh?" Todomatsu speaks under his breath.
"I like you, Y/N-chan." You actually gasp and drop your phone. Knowing you wouldn't be directly in Todomatsu’s ear you flap and kick while squealing. Sure you just got a confession a few weeks ago, one you never gave a real answer to, but Todomatsu's admission has your heart soaring high.
You can hear Todomatsu laughing from the receiver of your phone, then it crackles with his voice when he begins to speak again.
"If you like me back that much then let's meet up somewhere right now?"

hi ! thanks for the info , anon !!! when i first received this message i was big yikes tbh , bc female bans in 2020 ?? who even does that . but . . also admittedly , i know how things and misinformation can be spread thru tumblr discourse , so i actually approached the admins of mysticroleplay myself, to ask them for their side and an Explanation of what the 'female ban' really meant , bc . it doesn't Read Well for Anyone involved dfjkndfjnfjn . ANYWAYS , here was their response : ( under the cut bc it’s long , and then i add More commentary at the bottom ) 
 “ So, there’s a lot to unload here… as what initially was presented as a temporary tool in an attempt manage our influx of female characters, had got out of hand and taken out of context >< We hope our explanation below can gain a better understanding as to where we were coming from when implementing this ban, as we know it can come off quite… old school and not at all encouraging of those who disapprove of a gender ban in general. 
 When we started Mystic, we wanted to be a roleplay that didn’t care about ratios, which is why we categorize our characters by ‘stayed, left, new’ (according to our plot). In the beginning stages, we noticed the reputation roleplays were getting for caring about ratios (and ultimately understanding why it was a bad thing), which is why we made that decision in the first place.
As Mystic was growing, we noticed the influx of female characters joining, and didn’t really think much about it. However, slowly, we noticed that we had a handful of non-female desired wanted connections sitting in our tag, and there’s only so much that we admins can do to encourage gender diversity. We were also aware of the pressure a few members (we included) that had male characters felt when interacting with female characters (shipping, and etc), which was also a mildly growing concern behind the scene. As admins, we want to do our best to cater to our member’s experience and because we have encountered a certain feeling (in our own experience as members or admins, outside of Mystic) whenever there’s a heavy gender presented more than others, we couldn’t help but feel concerned. We’ve seen roleplays die when one gender overpowers the other, so we couldn’t help but wonder… should we do something about this? We’re not supposed to care about gender ratios, but our fear of our roleplaying dying due to past (separate) experiences seemingly overpowered that. (And not only that, but we’ve also been approached individually if we would consider a female ban of sorts, as we know *whether it’s a bad thing or not* that there are some people do care about ratios.)
And so, we came to the decision of implementing a temporary female ban, for various reasons. Yes, to balance our ratio to a degree, but to also encourage our members who were thinking of taking on second characters, to think about taking on a different gender. (We were also heavily wary about the backlash this would cause, but under said pressures, in a misguided attempt, did it anyway.)
 That is not to say, we only encouraged male characters in the slightest. Our ban was to encourage both male and nb characters, however, we will admit, we didn’t encourage nb characters as much as we should’ve. We know now, we probably should’ve sent ourselves some anons to put forth the public desire of having gender diversity, but we’re sad to say, we didn’t. We genuinely didn’t encourage (nor do we desire) one gender over the other, but we understand, that not voicing our desire for nb characters outright, could’ve been the reason why it this female ban we implemented was taken out of context.
Within the week of closing our ban (which was only up for about a week), we received anon asking if we’d do the same for nonbinary characters. We weren’t sure what to make of this ask, because admittingly, we were afraid it was a tool someone was using to try and make us (and Mystic) look bad. We know that might sound a bit dramatic, but the three of us are particularly protective over Mystic (as it has taken over two years for us to finally bring this roleplay to light) and we didn’t want a misunderstanding to have all of our hard work go to waste. (We’re also extremely aware of the rpcs of cancel culture, and wanted to avoid that as much as possible.) So, we made the unfortunate choice of not answering it, not for any other reason than being fearful of the outcome. 
 Within the next day, we received an IM from one of our members that it was them who had sent the anon and have expressed deep disappointment towards us for ignoring their query. It was… shameful, and heartbreaking for us to say the least. We loved that member deeply and have grown extremely embarrassed for not meeting their needs, all out of fear. Although they have expressed that they wish to have approached us off anon (as they were aware it came off hostile), they were still disappointed as a whole and we couldn’t blame them.
We did our best to explain why we didn’t reply, and how we weren’t trying to prioritize male or female characters over nonbinary (which is certainly another story within itself), and while we thought the conversation was going quite well and civil, we were met with them ultimately deactivating and we could no longer talk things through. 
 The incident between the three of us and that member was a lot for us. In fact, it still affects a few of us to this day, as we’re continuously fearful of disappointing our members again. We didn’t expect for Mystic to grow this big, nor did we expect to gain traction from the rpc in general. But, through this experience, we’ve learned that we do hold some sort of responsibility for doing what we can to encourage what is needed in the rpc. (Whether we feel as though it’s our duty or not.) We’ve learned a lot from that member, and although we weren’t able to settle things to their likeness, we decided to move on with the decision of implementing a ban for both male and female characters, in hopes of encouraging trans and nonbinary characters to enter Mystic in the near future. We want to look it as taking it one step at a time to be as inclusive and accepting to all as possible, whether we’re fully capable of taking on that task ourselves.
There is a lot more to say upon the matter, which we would be happy to discuss, as we want to lay things out as transparent as possible, but we hope that all of this explains things, enough for you to form a fair opinion about us. Not once did we ever make a decision to purposefully harm a particular community. Between the three of us, we are fully supportive (as well as a part of) the LGBTQ community and have been distraught knowing we have been misunderstood, due to a misguided decision in order to control our ratios. However, that is not to say, that we didn’t harm anyone (intentional or not), and we hope moving forward, we can right our wrongs.

i kinda do understand what they're talking abt . if u've been on my blog in the past few weeks , we've been talking heavily abt playing male muses and how they're ship-chased to no ends , and i do recognise that this is what the admins were noticing in their own rp with female muses coming in, and creating a MASS amount of wanted connections just for males , and chasing the males that were already in the rp . this is smth we've all seen time and time again , and it makes rps die , and ppl just . Click right out , bc who wants to come into a rp thats just 'ship ' 'ship' ' ship' 'ship' ??? thats not fun , and not the environment u wanna foster. 
 do i agree with the Actions per se , of a female ban ? no . not at all . it's very demoralizing and derogatory to female muses who AREN'T there for ships and actually for the Real purpose of rping. but i do UNDERSTAND what the admins were trying to accomplish , in order to break up the amount of ship-chasing they were seeing . 
 after scrolling through their blog , i did see that they were trying , somewhat, to encourage more male AND nb fcs . however, again , of course - this didn't really pan out , because . . nb muses are hardly EVER picked up , as we all know  . should they have pushed MORE for nb rep , and maybe picked up a few nb chartacters themselves ? probably . admins should lead by example , a classic g line . 
 so . the action of them removing the female ban when they had more Males , but not really Considering as much abt the nb-representation ? not great either , but they acknowledge that in their response too , and admit they're Ashamed of how they acted . it's not my place to talk on the nb/trans community's end on this topic . simply put , if that side of the community is hurt and Damaged by these actions , then thats understandable too . 
i think it's at least Slightly commendable that when i approached the admins out of the blue - they were completely 1000% transparent and honest with me abt the situation in general and what had seemingly warranted , to them, a 'female ban ' 
 look , overall. mistakes are made . people own up to them . they apologise , and they acknowledge they’ll do better in the future . that’s SOMETHING . overall, they’re Trying to do better , and i think that that’s something important , and i do appreciate them for that . they did the wrong thing . they admitted it and owned up to it . i can understand where they were Coming from , but the execution , admittedly , was not done Great .

First and foremost I'm really sorry you went through such a dark time in your life. Depression is debilitating and even though you may have worked through that specific moment, it's still a battle. I'm proud of you and I hope each morning you wake up with positive energy.
What really annoys me is when someone says, something is or was a lesson yet they never learn from it. Clearly he hasn't made that effort to learn about why someone doesn't text back straight away. And when he did get an answer he chose to ignore it. The ignorance to say it's to do with vulnerability is sooooo dumbbbbbbbbb. There's hundreds of factor's which can range from mental health and anxiety to personal problems to simply just being busy. This guy has no right to go on a podcast and talk absolute nonsense. His feelings may be valid but his opinion (a lot of podcasts are mostly commentary based on opinions) are not valid!!
Dickheads like him make men look so selfish and immature. Yes, I fucked up and will continue to fuck up on relationships but I'll never have the audacity tell another woman's story or actions through my opinion.
Dude you dodged a bullet with that one. Trust me that guy has so much growing to do. A serious relationship with him would have not only have been an emotional anchor but also a huge setback from you progressing in life with your goals and ambitions. When someone doesn't have the emotional capability to empathise and understand, they need to grow as a person. And they are not someone that you should be fixing either. They have to figure their own shit out instead of finding things to blame on others.

THE WAY I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU!!!! there could be a myriad of reasons why one doesn’t text back right away. it’s so stupid too because one time in November he went through a depressive episode and didn’t text me back. he texted me like a week later and we picked up right where we left off. i was WAY MORE THAN OKAY WITH THAT. like i was so understanding of the situation and was not salty about it at all. but when i do it it’s a problem? it’s just so stupid. i guess i shouldn’t expect others to reciprocate the same kind of energy. these kinds of things are very telling of one’s character.

i completely agree that i dodged a bullet. like after his response to me in December, i felt some type of way. i wasn’t expecting him to show up at my house with cookies because i was sad, but damn you didn’t have to cut me off like that. so naturally i started to lose interest in him. i just won’t tolerate people like that. i kinda figured he was annoyed with me, but never thought he would say that shit publicly. i agree that he has A LOT of growing/maturing to do. i actually suggested therapy more than once to him lol. i know it’s not for everyone but ya can’t knock it til you try it and he had not yet tried it. instead of therapy he started doing his podcast lmfao. but honestly the biggest of fuck you’s to him and i hope he heals.
im not gonna let this affect me any longer because he is CLEARLY not worth my energy nor time. im lowkey thankful because he showed his true colors in his last episode.

Me.trocon 2017 Day 1
This is a diary for future me bc i like to keep my important memories preserved to read abt later n stuff! uh.. feel free to read if ya want i guess or ignore but it’s just me in-depth talkin abt what i did today n what happened to me, negative n positive! okay so i got mcdonalds for brunch at like 1 after i left my house and dad dropped me off to go get registered and all and after leaving registration to go get myself a Schedule, someone stopped me and said “oh my god can i take a pic of you?!” and i was so surprised that someone recognized who i was but i said sureso they pulled out their phone and they had a ku.ro k/iryu phonecase and i was like “!! KURO !!” and i talked w them (they were cosplaying the human lady from the ma.id dragon anime) and they had sooo many en.stars charms on their phone and i was like “oh my god you’re into en.stars” and i asked if they were doing okay in the event and they said their cards were too weak and that they only had 1 five star and i was like dude that sucks! but i had to rush to the UT panel so i said bye to them and they said they were gonna be shinkai on sunday so i’m looking forward to that!
so i went to the UT panel and things were kinda annoying bc some alt. au sans kept asking lots of questions and making commentary tly loudly and sometimes answering questions like they were part of the panel?? i think even the panelists were kinda annoyed of her... and she’d be like “aww un.dyne u didnt do my dare [mutter] but u did theirs!!” but i dont hav much to say abt this panel tbh
so i went to the bl.ack but/ler panel and apparently the original panelists didnt come so a group of bl.ack butler cosplayers (a ciel, seb, alois, and grell) along w two random girls and a Shiro ran the panel but usually the audience was talking over them bc everyone was kind of joking around and thngs were more chatoic and casual than a normal panel but i talked to the pidge abt random stuff and we talked abt their wig (which they took off bc it was itchy lol) and how we both didnt sleep much last night and we kinda became friends n talked a bit 
and then i left the BB panel and had a LOT of freetime so i walked around the dealers room/artist alley (mostly in search of ES merch) and i found a rei cosplayer and i was like “wow i like your UNDEAD itabag- wait ur cosplaying rei arent you?” and they were like “yea, casual rei haha” and i was like “HOLY FUC can i take ur pic......” and we talked abt en.stars for a sec n i was like “im cosplayin tsukasa!” n they were like “i See that” and i told them i was on the hunt for ES merch and they pointed me in the direction of the other side of the dealers room and said there was an idol table that had a box/boxes full of ES merch and the table was blaring idol music so it was Noticable and i was like “HOLY SHIT im gonna go get some charms thnk u” and had i not noticed that the rei n their friend seemed to be semi-busy i probably wouldve tried to talk abt ES w them for a while aa...
SO ANYWAY i found the idol table and there were 3 lil boxes of ES charms/buttons/etc and a box of i/7 charms/buttons/etc so i looked thru them and ALL THE STUFF WAS SO CUTE KRHNRGHB... but it took me abt an hour to look thru everything and pick out a natsume keychain and a mika christmas keychain but while i was there i was like.. bouncing to the loud idol music (they didnt play en.stars music but there was id.olmaster music i think and LL music) and the girl from earlier that took my pic (erin is her name i believe) and her friend and their other friend (?) who was umi came up to me and said hi again and looked at the charms (erin said she got a shu button and a lot of kuro merch tho, and she spent most of her money for the day lol) and i talked to them abt the things in the boxes and en.stars like which boys we liked or not (erin said she found ritsu annoying bc i showed her a ritsu keychain) and i gave erin and her friend lollipops and eventually left (the booth had 3 ES plushies and the 1st ES artbook w the cgs and va comments in it btw but i didt get those) and im debating going back to that table for a chiaki item or midori item.. maybe bc im tryna save up for a pillow or plushie i rly want
so i went back downstairs and saw the ann i first spotted near registration when i got inand i was like “oh!” but i sat down near them bc playing ES and putting my charms on my bag was more important and a lance asked me if i was yuki from tsu.ritama and i was like “nope! En.semble stars” and the shiro was like “OHH!!” and i asked the shiro n matt (they looked like matt but it might hav been a different character) if they were into en.stars and they said no sbut the matt said “all i kno is that eichi is Bad” and i was like “KJRGNRB YEA.. HES EVIL HES BAD YANNO THAT ;BABY BOY. EVIL.’ MEME? HES THE EVIL PART” and the lance kept laughing and i was like “he messed w ppl and kinda maybe emotionally abused someone hes No Good >:0″ but i told em that en.stars has a translation n stuff and then a serena helped me put my natsume on my bag 
and before i left i wanted a pic of the ann and akira but then i noticed there was a Makoto so i wanted to take their pic but after i did the makoto was like “YOURE COSPLAYING FROM EN.STARS ARENT YOU...” n i said yes and they squealed and said they were into ES and i hugged them and they showed me their mao itabag and apparently the ann and akira were into ES as well so we all laughed abt ES and i learned that makoto hates rei bc i said reis one of my best boys n makoto’s friend said she liked rei too and makoto groaned and i said “he’s hot!” and maggie (the friend) was like “yea!” and akira’s fav waskeito n he was like “i’d hug him. i’d kiss him. i’d spicy w him” and they were like “THOSE R GOOD UR VALID” when i said chiaki n ryu.seitai were my favs but apparently they had friends who loved chiaki too bc the akira mentioned it and we all laughed for a sec and makoto and akira said they were gonna be the tori n eichi at the en.stars panel on satudrday and i screeched and ann called over a DAN!akira she spotted (i took a pic of him earlier) and so he joined our lil hangout group and we all spotted a Joker akira so ann was like “...if i yell ‘akira’ ya think hell come over here” so i was like “let’s all yell it on 3″ so ann, DAN akira and i all yelled “AKIRA!!!” in unison and he came over and took some pics w the others n took a pic of me and i took a pic of him then he left but the DAN akira stayed and i gav makoto, ann, and DAN akira lollipops and we all hung out and ann and the umi from earlier (who was apparently their friend) danced to LL songs bc ann started dancing to em for us and before that the akira and makoto left and eventually the akira left until it was just ann, umi, and i w them dancing and i spotted my irl friend lynds so i said hi bc she was playing cards w her friendgroup then i said goodbye to ann and umi bc i wanted to find the wataru they mentioned they saw (erin mentioned it earlier too)
and so i walked around 4 a minute b4 the next UT panel and didnt find the wataru but oh well so i went to the 2nd UT panel and it was still p boring and the annoying chick from earlier was still there and some girl behind me was loud n had a handclapper toy they kept using and i hated it but w/e so after i left that, i wandered around a bit and eventually went to the phantomhive ball and mad.ame red (who was an ichigo earlier in the day who helped the ppl do improv for the BB panel for a sec b4 they had to leave) saw me and we kept talking and i was like “is this.. an actual ball or a Panel” and they said a ball so i was like “oh god” but they were rly sweet to me and tightened my tie and we talked abt our previous cons and who we’re gonna cosplay tomorrow and i also talked w their un.dertaker until the doors to the panel opened but un.dertaker n  stood in the corner n i didnt wanna slowdance so i called dad to pick me up, wandered around the con n played ES, then left at like 10 pm!

so i just finished episode 479 and i have a lot of feelings about a lot of things but im not sure how to rlly talk about them/if its worth making a post about but there is one thing that is bugging me a lot that i do know how to talk about, and its re: the sand sibs in the mugen tsukuyomi
reflection and what i’d have done differently under the cut.. its very long
im specifically irate about temari and kankuro’s mugen tsukuyomi dreams; gaara’s was fine and made perfect sense
but
i feel like Once Again temari and kankuro’s development was shunted/ignored in favor of the “Cooler Characters” and i know realistically from a heavily analytical standpoint that especially w/ naruto’s writing like the writing is already shoddy and glosses over a lot of potential already for the main, most popular characters, like....
the people relegated to being side characters have a lot less of a chance of really being given justice so i See why the sibs didnt get to reach their full potential developmentally and narrative wise, but Boy from a gaara standpoint and from a “person who still loves this ninja shitshow anyway” standpoint, i am quite Peeved
like.. okay.. listen..... temari and kankuro aren’t blissfully unaffected by our dysfunctional family situation wtf.. i wasn’t the only one who went through hardships and has trauma from it?? jesus??? both their.. our.. parents are dead and to be frank, me, their brother, used to be a monster, misunderstood and manipulated by his father or not, and they had to force themselves to be demure around him and put up with him lest he get angry and snap at them and end up killing him like he did their friends and peers in the village, which, yknow, is probably also traumatizing just saying???
are u rlly gonna tell me that their deepest desire isnt Also having.. a functional fckn family... and getting to maybe grow up as happy normal children and not lose their friends and be able to pursue their dreams with the support of loving parents (and their uncle) and without constant looming stress and fear hanging over their heads....
the bond between the sibs did indeed gradually mend after The Naruto Incident but realistically, no one is gonna fckn go, “yeah my childhood was really stolen from me bc of multiple tragic events and stressors on top of the fact im literally a child soldier but hey its fine! everything is good now! no lasting scars or anxieties here!!”

im particularly pissed about temari’s dream bc like...... man, already the fandom acts like shes basically kankuro and gaaras stand-in mother whos always cleaning up after them ((if she’s not doing that she only exists to be shikamaru’s waifu apparently)) like....... you could argue that the root of her dream was her wanting to be respected and looked up to sure but mayhaps there was a better way to display that than her being berated by her little brothers who in that particular universe apparently cannot go without her advice for two whole seconds
and then kankuros was.. silly... thats probably a /dream/ he’d have i mean but like not a /deepest desire/ u kno............. i dont have as much commentary about his (particularly bc U Kno the way temari is treated is influenced by her being a girl) but like w/ temari’s like if what he wanted was to become legendary at his craft then there’d be better ways to show that which would tie in with the sibs’ traumas and pull their narratives together and overall highlight how much fucked up shit everyone has been thru in this series to the point of people’s deepest desires just being like, a functional family with parents that arent dead
but i digress i guess
either way i think in an ideal dream world for the siblings, all the sibs would be happy and temari n kankuro would become respected masters of their crafts (i could see temari maybe dreaming about becoming kazekage tbh) without being overshadowed by gaara or weighed down by familial loss.. they would also be allowed to have an actual proper childhood....
i would’ve been a lot happier if their dreams at least even hinted at that........ but u kno........ im not surprised they didnt bc if someones not in the top 3 popular characters why would we bother to rlly flesh them out and, u kno, Even Then.................
