he had no clue what you’d even do on a date so he had to resort to asking sylvain (but that didn’t go so well)

luckily he had mercedes and annette to turn to, and they just told him to be himself

which he didn’t quite understand but he just went with it

anyway..... he’d probably show up to your dorm with a boquet of flowers (lavender ones) but they’d probably be a bit crushed at the stems due to how nervous he was

but he’d hold them out to you anyway & apologise for his nervousness

dimitri’s face is definitely red for the whole day too

he was very desperate to hold your hand (since he’d seen sylvain doing it) but was afraid that he’d crush you

so he resorted to offering you his arm instead

he probably took you on a walk through the forest near the monastery

he wanted to use that opportunity to learn more about you, but it instead ended up being him telling you all about the different types of trees you could see

i bet he knows literally everything about trees and plants ok (thank dedue)

annette and mercedes gave him a little picnic to have with you & dimitri was very excited to show you the cute little sandwiches they made

he’d talk to you about something you’re very interested in (he did a lot of research) and then watch as you rambled on about something he has no idea about

he has the cutest look in his eyes, too full of love

throughout the entire day all he did was make sure you were smiling too, and he was constantly trying to make you laugh

he told a few jokes (probably about something actually really sad) but they didn’t go too well. you laughed anyway though

either way you had a really fun time, mostly because of how cute dimitri was being

DEDUE

dedue has also never been on a date

but he has more common sense than dimitri so obviously he doesn’t go to sylvain for advice

dates with dedue probably don’t go how dates are supposed to go - you guys just hang out together, maybe you kiss, maybe you just hold hands

you quietly sit in the greenhouse together, tending to dedue’s flowers

you’re probably one of the only people he lets touch his flowers, seeing as though he loves you a lot

it would be peaceful & quiet, and the only times either of you would speak would be when you’d ask about a certain flower, or when dedue would tell you about the plant he was looking after at the time

maybe after you both finish watering & weeding all the plants, you’d just sit there in comfortable silence, enjoying each other’s presence

i’m sure chef deddles (love chef deddles) would bring you a small sized version of whatever dish he was working on at the moment

or he’d bring you something he’d made up himself for you to try first

anything he makes or does, the first person he’d show is you

sylvain has been on many a date so he knows EXACTLY what he’s doing

he takes you to a cute little cafe in town

he wanted to take you to a restaurant at the start, but decided against it since he had no idea if you’d like that or not

but everyone likes a little cafe date... right?

since he’s actually bothered to formally ask you on a date & is serious about you, he’d probably bring you one or two of his favourite books

because we all know he’s actually a smarty pants

he’d hold your hand or have an arm wrapped around your waist on the way there, & he’d point out all the places he’s been kicked out of for flirting with the waitresses (or even the owner) because he knows you won’t judge him for that

anyway. when you get there, he insists on sitting on one of the couch chairs (or whatever they had in the 12th century) and at first you sit opposite each other

he likes it that way since you can both talk to each other face to face (and he can playfully tap your feet under the table)

the day is full of jokes & weird stories that sylvain has

somehow he’s met literally everyone and anyone and always has the most wack story for any situation

he also playfully flirts with you - it’s not serious (even though he means it) but it’s so cheesy it’s funny

after a while, when the cafe is quieter, sylvain comes and sits with you on your side of the table

he just wraps an arm around your shoulders using the old yawn & stretch trick

felix is born different. he’s a different breed

he does not have any experience since he’s NEVER HAD A CRUSH. or so he says

and he’s too stubborn to ask anyone for help so he just does whatever he feels like

by that, i mean you guys definitely stay in the training hall for the entire day

if you accepted felix’s feelings you knew exactly what you were getting into, so deal with it

he forces you to spar with him for most of the day but he cares about you too much to overexert you

when you both take a break he sits really close to you for no particular reason other than to sit close to you

this is felix’s romance. sharing sweat (aw)

he also goes easy on you when you’re fencing

not that he thinks you’re incapable of fighting at his level, but that he just doesn’t want to accidentally stab you

sometimes he lets you win & really sarcastically says something like “aw, damn! you’ve won again...!” with this really soft smile on his face

only on the premise that nobody else is around

on the way back he won’t hold your hand or anything but he’ll constantly look back at you with the fondest look in his eyes

he probably looks down at your hands wishing he has the courage to actually hold them too

at the end of the day when he’s walked you all the way back to your dorm, he’ll very spontaneously kiss you right on the lips

he’ll have a very firm hold of your face but all of a sudden he’ll just let go & run off with his face bright red

i was going to say something stupid like ghost hunting but ashe would probably rather die

he’d probably just sit in the library with you and discuss books with you for a few hours, nothing too major

but ashe has a way with words & can tell old tales as though he was there (even if i’m remembering his character wrong, let’s just pretend)

you’d ask him about the book he’s currently reading & he’d tell you the plot of it (without spoiling it obviously) and the way he’d word it would make you want to pick it up immediately

the both of you just sit in the library quietly for hours, reading a book each

the only time either of you would talk would be when either one of you would laugh at something in your book & you’d have to explain the joke to the other

obviously ashe won’t allow either of you to stay up really late (no later than like 7) because the monastery gets dark at that point

and you know what comes out when the monastery gets dark?

absolutely nothing. but it’s funny seeing ashe scream at shadows so don’t say anything

i imagine that your first date goes so well, ashe forgets about the time & you both come out of the library at like 11:00

it’s a wonder seteth hasn’t found the two of you

anyway. your date actually turns out to be a ghost hunting trip (alternate title: ashe runs away from the ghosts while you laugh at him, and neither of you can see where your dorms are)

it’s fun anyway. well, not in ashe’s opinion

at some point you see this really big shadow that’s moving towards you and you both scream thinking it’s a really evil ghost

suddenly a torch is lit on the wall & turns out its seteth

seteth quietly escorts the two of you back to the dorms and it’s really awkward

he eventually leaves you both alone & ashe sighs the biggest sigh of relief you’ve ever heard

he quietly thanks you and, with the most courage he’s ever had, he pecks your cheek & runs off

Do you have anyone that you ship Shiho with?

Can I just say, I love how straightforward you are! And for that, I thank you 😂💛

Ok so there are two Shiho ships that I am honestly obsessed with. They're both not popular, but that's just my opinion...

The first ship would be GinxSherry. Now let me start off by saying this is not a ship I support for the current timeline, BUT it's a ship I think made sense before she escaped the BO.

So many people will disagree and I get it.

Isn't it a toxic ship? Yes.

Isn't it based on extreme unhealthy obsession on Gin's part? Yes.

Isn't it full of betrayal, pain and mind games? Yes.

So how?? Look, I'm crazy and I know it. I'll be honest, one of the reasons I like this ship is because it's different from all the other love plot lines in the manga. They're all lovey-dovey and cutesy, and well, it's over-done. This dark, more adult version is more my style.

There were a few hints and teasings about the GinxSherry pairing being canon but I still need the confirmation because I'm dying to know more. They don't just know each other on a professional level, they KNOW each other very well. They know intimate details about each other; he knows her favourite colour, she knows his favourite car model, he can identify her from just a single strand of her hair and they both can predict how the other will behave in certain situations. Like come on, they know each other way too well for just 'work colleagues'. Also that's another thing I find interesting. She's a scientist and he's an assassin. They work in two completely different departments, yet they know each other so well.

So, yeah I can't help but think they got caught up with each other in a whirlwind romance (as cheesy as it sounds). And there are multiple reasons why I'm convinced they were in an actual relationship before she escaped the BO:

Let's be honest, betrayals hurt way more when the person you love does it to you. And I can't help but sense the palpable bitterness they have between them.

Also his unrelenting jealousy when he thought she is now running away with another man after the Haido City Hotel incident. You can't be that worked up if you were just work colleagues.

His reaction to her 'death' when Vermouth told him Bourbon saw her burn up in flames at the end of the Bell Tree Train arc, was not that of someone finally relieved his enemy was dead. His reaction was underwhelming and it seemed too indifferent.

The suggestive things they said to each other at the rooftop of Haido City Hotel was more that of scorned exes and not ex colleagues.

And finally which is the most obvious, he always imagined her nude whenever he thought of her, soooo they must have gotten intimate at some point.

When I think of this pairing, I can't help but think he thought of her as the light to his darkness. But because they're different people at their core, who share different views and morals, their distrust of one another got the best of them which lead to the tragic end of their relationship. If there's one spin-off, I'd pay to watch, is one that's about their history together. I need to see it unfold all the way to their downfall. Yes, I crave tragedy , don't judge me 😂

The second ship, I've not really been shy about. It is ReixShiho. This ship has sooooo much potential and I've already prepared myself for the disappointment that it won't happen because of the Reishipthatshallnotbenamed is more popular 😒 but anywho 😂

Why do I love it? I spoke about that multiple times but I think the ship I love so much, deserves a proper post so here we are.

First off, if my gut feeling is right, I think they'll have great chemistry. Their personalities would fit sooo well, I just see it. She is calm, cool, reserved, and he is warm, friendlier and more outgoing. And it goes without saying that they're both as some have said are 'intellectual equals' because they're both intelligent.

Secondly, their past experiences are not just connected, but they're also similar. It would be easy for them to understand and relate to what the other is going through as well as find comfort in one another because of the following reasons:

They both know what it's like to lose all your loved ones (she lost her family, he lost all his best friends and idk why but I think he was an orphan since nothing about his family has been disclosed yet).

They were both high-ranking members of the BO. They were forced to do things against their will, so they know how dark and twisted the world can be.

They're both mixed kids who had a hard time when growing up to be accepted by people because of it (she was shunned in the States and was forced to eat alone and he quarrelled with children who made fun of how he looked).

They both feel wronged by Akai who they believe is the main reason for the death of Akemi and Hiro.

All those reasons make me believe they would get along really well. That is not to say she'll welcome him with open arms at first and he'd probably be hella judgey at first but once all is revealed and the misunderstandings cleared, they'd be one badass pair. I know so many Shiho fans are mad at him for planning to sell her out but I already talked about it in a lengthy post. And while I was initially shocked and angry, it all made sense. Also an enemies to lovers archetype...are you kidding me? YES PLEASE!! 😭😭

So, there you have it my friend. These are my thoughts. And whatever happens, all I care about is for her to have closure and a happy ending. It doesn't necessarily need to entail a relationship for her to be happy. She is an amazing character as is with or without a love interest, but if I had to choose, these are the pairings that I like for her.

My 2020 Sherlolly Self Interview

Thanks for organizing this fun activity @sherlollyappreciationweek! 🎉 I’ll start out with a very brief “about me” section-

I live in the northeast area of the USA, I’ve been married for seventeen years, have one teenage son, and I’m in my *gulp* late thirties now. I do volunteer ministry work and also work part time from home. Among other leisure activities, obviously I love writing! I started writing original fiction when I was a preteen, but I’ve been writing fanfic under the pen name “writingwife83” for over six years now. I discovered fanfic and the world of online fandom after becoming obsessed with BBC Sherlock in 2014 after s3 aired. I read The Full House, fell in love with the whole concept of fanfic, specifically for sherlolly, and couldn’t help but give it a go myself. And as they say, the rest is history!

Below the cut I’ll talk about some of the topics and fics suggested by followers/readers. Buckle up cuz it’s a lot lol...

Ok, first up to be kind enough to give me some feedback is @readstoomuch. You said- “what inspires you. Any story (I love them all!). Who do you love writing? Who is hardest for you? And which is that one story that you had fun doing?”

As for what inspires me, first and foremost it’s the show and characters itself. Watching those two on screen, it’s not hard to be inspired! But beyond that, I find a lot of inspiration in music and art, and just generally in other creative works and people. I think for a while I had my own internal inspiration and no lack of it, but as months dragged into years lol, I have found that the rest of the shippers are invaluable in filling the gaps when I lack inspiration and motivation. Some prompts I’ve gotten from others have taken on a life I never would have expected, and that’s pretty great. I honestly don’t think writing works best as a purely solitary activity. I know myself and although there is an aspect of my writing that will always be “for me,” that’s absolutely not all it is. It’s the fun of creating with others and it’s the fun of sharing with others.

As for who I love writing and who’s hardest, I think I’ve always felt pretty comfortable writing the main characters in Sherlock. I probably especially love writing Sherlock himself because he’s fun to break down and really dig deep into his emotions and thought processes. There have definitely been times some of the side characters have overwhelmed me and made me nervous about conveying their voices accurately. For instance, Mycroft can be tough if it involves pulling him out of his shell in a way that still feels believable and true to character.

That one story I had fun doing? Well there’s no way I can say just one. 😆 As far as reader response, there’s no other fic that can compare to the fun of I Told You So, that’s for sure. But as far as the actual plotting and creating, I think the fics I’ve had the most fun with are the multi-chapters I’ve done since becoming good friends with @thisisartbylexie. Having her as a sounding board, plotting buddy, and editor has absolutely increased my creating fun and has definitely also made me a better writer.

Alrighty, @thisisartbylexie, you asked- if there's a fic that you ever wanted to go back to change in some way, which one would it be and why? Which one do you feel "oh wow, did I write that?" in a super positive way?

Idk how to choose just one fic. There are plenty that could use some changing lol! One I’d like to fix though, would be Pleased to Meet You. I know (because I’ve been told) that there’s inaccuracies in that one seeing as I’m not personally familiar with university settings in the UK. I did actually attempt research and I thought I got the idea, but apparently it didn’t work out terribly well. But the plotting and progression of that fic is one I’ve always been happy with, so I guess I feel like it’s a shame if it came off messy in some general ways and distracted from the rest of it. I like how I was able to weave that one into the canon of the show up to that point. And tbh it actually still fits as a uni backstory for them without any conflicts to the canon. As much as I enjoy canon divergence and AU, I also have a big soft spot for fics that simply connect seamlessly to what we’ve already been given.

As for “oh wow, did I write that?” I think one of my proudest accomplishments has been Zephyr. That fic kinda has it all lol. The tropes, the pining, the romance, the Victorian setting...ugh I love it. And there’s a climactic kiss moment in that fic that’s one of my faves I’ve written. I’m so glad I wrote it because of the Sherlolly Remix Challenge in ‘16, and at your suggestion, Lexie. But I will also be forever sad that I had to release that fic all at once on AO3 once completed. That fic would have been great fun to be writing and posting as I went along! And on top of being happy with the fic itself and how it came out, I’m awfully proud of the fact that you were excited enough about the fic to illustrate it, and that @goodshipsherlolly enjoyed it enough to record it as an audio fic. Honestly, what more could a writer ask for? 🥺

@mizjoely, you said you’d like to hear anything about The Queen’s Man. Okey doke, you got it lol!

I actually went back and read through most of that fic when I got this because it had been a long time since I’d looked at it. I gotta be honest that in hindsight...I’m a little surprised it did as well as it did.😂🙈 As some may remember, it started because I saw a magnificent manip and wanted to write something to go with it, and then because that was well received, somehow it just kept going. I did very little world building and development of characters in that fic. It was largely just one shippy, romantic, pining scene after another lol. At the end I did kinda tie it all in and wrapped the story up ok, but it was definitely one of those self indulgent fics where I didn’t feel like doing the hard parts and really just wanted to write the fun stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I loved writing it, and I’m so glad it got the positive reception that it did! But it just kinda makes me laugh because it goes to show sometimes you don’t know what’s going to do really well. You could agonize over clever plotting and world building and character development etc, and be so super proud of the finished product and all your hard work, but then you share and the response is like “meh.” And then other times you legit just throw something together with barely any careful thought, and the crowd goes wild! But aside from all that, the visuals in my head of that AU are just too drool worthy to me. Molly in Medieval royal attire? Sherlock in dark armor with a Purple Tunic of Sex™️ underneath? The two of them lingering in the dimly lit hallways and rooms of a castle and gazing endlessly in mutual pining? Yes to all.

Honestly, this ship is amazing and I don’t think I’ll ever have a writing experience anywhere else like I’ve had here. I’ve seen the other side of things in another fandom now, so I can all the more so confirm that there’s no ship quite like sherlolly. The warmth, reception, and longevity is mind blowing and I’m just awfully happy to have played a part in creating for the beauty that is Sherlock Holmes and Molly Hooper. 💕

I will skip over some planets that are Very slow moving and usually don't talk about you as an individual but refer to your generation as a whole.

I wanna focus on lilith for a sec bc worstie lilith talks about our fears, our more "darker" side that we hide from ourselves as well as the people that we love. Lilith in aries in the eleventh house tells me you might be afraid to take charge, you gravitate towards positions of leadership but you let go on the last second, almost afraid to have too much control, very often self sabotaging your own success. Your anger and you own ambition might scare you, you might be afraid of appearing too aggressive bc under your skin you have a deep rooted anger and rebellion that you wish to relieve but you can't find a good enough outlet, some things soothe it but you always feel like it never leaves. It might be related to some form of resentment that you never truly dealt with and now it sits uncomfortably with you and you just can't get over it and it bothers you. You might have been shy in groups as a child, maybe you talked a lot but it was always from a fear of the silence not always because you had something to say. The eleventh house is that of groups and friends and social awareness, technology and your hopes and wishes for the future, having lilith in this house talks about someone who had a hard time feeling comfortable around people OR someone who wasn't very accepted. You might have desperately wished for friends but have found it hard to find any. Or if you did, you deep down felt very alone. I would advise to learn to accept your anger and deal with it in healthy ways instead of brushing it off and repressing it.

The north node talks about what you need to focus more in your life for example in your case with Gemini in your North node you need to focus more on your communication letting go of anxiety and your relation with other people you need to become more interested in intellectual pursuit and growth. You need to let go off the need to always be right and look more at details instead of focusing on on the bigger picture all of the time. When your North node is is in Gemini then your South node is in Sagittarius which tells me that what you should focus less on is your pursuit of freedom and your rebellion. Be more aware of your words and use them with maturity.

I decided on Blackfoot because their reservation is North of where Hope County is supposed to be set. Idk if that is really that interesting but I just ??? wanted to do it, because not a lot is known about Staci before EG, and I found it as a way to build his character and connect to him more personality. Like, if he and I shared experiences even if they were mundane and small, it would make writing him more real to me?? Idk f that makes sense, but point is that bc of this I created like 5 other FC5 OCs or Other Characters (Wheaty) on my multi who are also Indigenous and I get to thrive??? writing native characters??? Three Mun Facts: ✘ I will go the fuck off about character theories or headcanons for the most minor characters ever. How’d you start: I rped Naruto over texting with my best friend in Middle School. Platforms you’ve used:  I pretty much jumped right into tumblr after that, never did the forums or anything. I think for awhile we used skype :0 but I only really rped over skype, email, facebook, and texting on and off for awhile with her. But I found uuuuuh, a Durarara!! rp group randomly like two years later and was like oh???  Anyway, so I’ve used skype, email, tumblr, aim??, facebook, and I now RP on Discord a lot more. Best experience: honestly hard to say, I think when I just met people I really hit it off with and we just meshed well is always the best. But if I have to be specific uuuuh, I once joined an RP group about Gods or something, and I eventually got my best friends to join which is what got them into Rping. Also through it I met another girl who became like, my best friend online for YEARS after that, from age like, 13 to age 20?? And also bc I was a big gay, I fell in love with her which uuh, didn’t end well but point is that, the best part is just making friends who you love and adore who stick with you even after the group or fandom you were in together dies.  Worst experience:  fuck ok honestly, I had someone who would hound me to ship all the time, and would follow me every time I moved blogs. They would constantly hound me to write smut with them (even tho I was underage) and if I said no they would just be like oh well too bad and would start writing their character doing some shit with mine and get really fucking mean to me if I didn’t reply. Also would constantly bug me to reply to them and guilt trip me, even if I wasn’t home to reply or if I was at school, they would get really mean and vicious about it. And would post horrible shit about me on the dash and stuff when I wasn’t home to reply to our threads.

And they would constantly like, play if off like I was the bad guy and the abusive one and was overall just really toxic and super mean to me and my friends? Pushed away my other shipping partners, forced me to tell my best friend I cant ship with her anymore or else??? And we were all like, 14 or 15 at the time when we met them, and they were like, 36 and had a kid and was married. I didn’t get away from them until I was like, 18 :))) and they had made so many people dislike me and shit because of the dumbass stuff they said about me, so I had to leave tumblr for awhile. Anyway when I came back like, months later a bunch of people had come out of the woodwork who I don’t even remember to apologize to me and be like wow some shit went down and this person showed their true colors and everyone kinda realized they were toxic and a liar bc I guess they tried to do it to some other people. It was wild.

Lol, glad to be of service on the plot detail.  Can not wait to find out precisely how I helped, and congrats on finishing the chapter.  Very, VERY excited for the new one, though if previous experience is anything to go by, it’ll probably show up right about when I have to clock in.  But that will give me something to look forward to during my shift. :D  That game sounds awesome, but so intense.  The other person I know paying it said she only made it about three hours before she had to pause for a while due to emotional overload.  And I’m well used to that authorial tendency towards “sorry not sorry” when it comes to reader reactions. XD

Oh god, I love the idea of them as potentially competing players.  Huge chunks of the unaffiliated/unaffected Houses would get caught up in the rumors and romance of it all.  Chris in the stands getting all kinds of weird looks because he keeps rooting for both teams (uh…no pun intended?).   And yeah, I like Defense Against the Dark Arts and History of Magic for Chris.  Oh god I can see all of them excelling at the dueling club.  He and Noah take Muggle Studies and develop a minor fascination with muggle weaponry.  Ooh, what would their Patronuses (Patroni?) be?  Would Peter be a wolf Animagus instead of a werewolf given their representation in the books?

And I love all the kids reacting to new siblings.  (Jackson will always be the baby, even when he’s not, lol.)  Hmm, I can’t decide if I like the idea of going more fantasy or sci-fi for the nursery (Fables sounds amazing, though, and I feel I need to find some copies.  But perhaps slightly dark for a nursery.)  Part of me feels they could give it sort of Hobbit-y feel, with rolling hills and towering forests, but add woodland characters in from lots of other series, too, scattered throughout the trees (and Ents, and Groots).  Maybe a fake tree in one corner with one or two of those hanging chair things.  But part of me just keeps screaming “OMG OUTER SPACE!!!"  She could paint galaxies and nebulas across one wall.  They could put glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling, and have a mobile of Star Wars ships over one crib and one of Star Trek ships over the other.  Gah, I can’t decide!  And Malia (or Peter) would totally need to make them each one of these wolf lovey blankets.  In the correct colors for Peter’s coat, possibly out of the yarn with his fur, so the scent could comfort them.  I actually found a number of geeky hats, etc, that she could make for them (I may have gotten a bit carried away.  Again.  In my defense they’re adorable.)  Now I’m also curious how the kids set up their own rooms in the new house.  Also curious where Ben’s deductive skills might later lead him.

You are very welcome for that image.  It is a lovely one isn’t it?  And can you imagine some of the poses they’d do for photo ops (especially with how shameless Peter is?)  I also think one of the kids would manage to convince them to go out into the Preserve in those costumes to get some  nicely atmospheric shots for Malia’s blog.  At least one of those ends up on one of the walls of the house (nursery if more fantasy themed, living room/den otherwise)  I just wish I could have found better pics than Google was providing.  I refuse to believe there are that few guys that do Red Riding Hood.  I know I’ve seen it at cons before.

This is the section I changed:

The condom breaking on Noah and Peter had been one hell of a spectacle between the three of them. After what happened with him they’d been on edge and actively trying to avoid another accident. Anu, however, had other plans for them and had caused another pregnancy scare. They could only hope that they wouldn’t have to face reality once again. When Peter had told him he had three heartbeats and his scent had changed, he’d freaked out beyond belief. Merlia had bought him a pregnancy test and Talia had offered to have a talk with his father when it came back positive. He’d declined. He really didn’t want to tell his father that he was currently pregnant. And if Peter and the wolves were to believed, with twins. His father would carve his babies out of his stomach before he allowed him to carry to term. A protective hand rested on his abdomen and he looked up to find Peter staring at him, smiling.

Originally I had written that Chris wasn’t worrying and that he didn’t know he was pregnant just yet. Thanks to our back and forth, I realized, wait a second that’s a really big plot hole and I need to fix that.

I think Malia not telling Stiles was a plot hole as well, but I didn’t catch it on time and it’s not glaring in this case. (I think, I hope.) Whoops.

I’ve finished the game by now and I am very torn on it. On the one hand, I was very emotional but it just got darker and darker as it progressed and we are forced to spend time with a character we don’t like. And the way they wrote that story just doesn’t work for me. Which is really sad because the first game was my favorite game ever. And my Joel cosplay was one of the first cosplays that let me be a dude. I realized I was trans and got comfortable with that fact through cosplay. And Dean Winchester and Joel were fundamental cosplays for this. (I’m also planning a really dope Peter Hale cosplay. I’m so excited. Lemme show you some pics of what I want to do with SFX)

So this game, it’s very intense for me and I couldn’t finish it because of its story. I watched the rest on Youtube and I agree with many that it’s not a bad story, it’s just not likable. And you’re not meant to like it, but when I play games I play them for the story and to know this story is so unlikable. It kinda kills me inside.

But it definitely drives me to write a really good likable story myself. Even if it gets dark, I want people to say yeah, ok. I get it. I understand why these characters did this. But I’m happy this ended well and my favorite characters got a happy ending together. That’s what I want Once upon a Time to mean.

Had a moment of delayed reaction to noticing that Peter says "I've made these", not "I've had these made" (was too excited and reading too quickly the first time), and like, made as in carved himself?

I was wondering why that hadn’t come up yet, hahaha, but I see. And yeah, he carved it himself with his own claws. I thought that had a deeper meaning and that’s where the wood carving headcanon came from.

Ok so this is my problem with this guy

Under read more. Spoilers: It contains some of my anger over cerain blond teenage character of RWBY. I don’t mean it as hate, I’m just tried of seeing this kind of stuff over and over again and I finally need to vent. 

The thing that pisses me off the most about Jaune’s manpain over Pyrrha is that it seems to be post-production mistake fixing. They forgot to develop this romance from Jaune’s perspective, having him ignore Pyrrha most of the time and share like three moments or so when he appreciates or takes interest in her in any way shape or form, while for the rest of the time he chases another. Like really, one moment is where he says sorry on that roof, the other is during the dance tho idk if I should count it as this because the way he framed this ‘interest’ was inconsiderate, but I’ll let it slide for a while. Then we have long long nothing and finally, first-in my opinion- genuine interest in what and how Pyrrha feels ep.8 of vol3 so 4 or so episodes before she dies, and in-universe timeline on the very day she dies. Like really, it took the dude to go and start noticing and showing interest in HOW HIS PARTNER feels this long? And don’t give me any ‘he had to do it earlier’ because apart from that dance scene we don’t get it on screen so as far as we know episode 8 is the first time, or at least first time since the dance. And yet, despite the fact he ignored her, and showed no consideration or no interest in her and her feelings he somehow gets to have most development? he gets her circlet? I understand the notion of ‘you don’t know what you have’ I really do, but with all of the above? It really doesn’t seem like enough to warrant such actions. Especially the circlet. How realising he lost a chance and was an idiot for not seeing what was in front of him, how does that entitle him to her possessions? How does make him more worthy than her parents/mother? He knew this girl for like...few months and for most of this time he couldn’t be bothered to get to know her, care about her feelings or appreciate her. And somehow just because he regrets he didn’t get to know her and make that effort, he is entitled to merge her circlet with her remains into his armour? Does regret over not building or contributing to a bond makes up for that bond or something? I wouldn’t take such an issue with it if he at least asked her mother or waited until they meet her family. It still would have been forced, but he wouldn’t come off as entitled, inconsiderate jerk. Like if he really, really, really, really, really, really HAS to have Pyrrha’s circlet then at least have her mother say she cannot keep it because it’s too painful and that Pyrrha would have wanted him to have it. Having that wouldn’t have made it good but at least it would be just annoying and tried instead of rage inducing. 

And another thing that bothers me about this whole thing is that Pyrrha’s death in vol3 was empowering, she fought well and valiant, she did her best and pulled all the stops, she did it for her friends and whole the world. She died on her own rules, never yeilding to the dark side. It was heroic and tragic and most of all POWERFUL it was sad but somewhat positive and inspiring message. It had some meaning. It wasn’t death for shock value. But volume 4 never mentions that. Pyrrha’s death is not mentioned as this heroic by-her-own-rules thing. No, when it’s mentioned it is to show how sad JAUNE IS, to show how UPSET AND ANGRY he is. Like with those recordings, where she tells him he’s great and wonderful an whatnot and he slices the air with his sword in anger. We have it refferenced after Shinon’s fall when again it is to bring out and hilight Jaune’s pain because Shinon.Jaune says “I am tried of losing everything” everything that is mainly Pyrrha. Then we have it mentioned when Qrow talks to them, and again Pyrrha’s death is not there to show example of heroism and taking things into your own hands and choosing how you die. No, once again her death is there for Jaune to get angry and upset. And heck he even manged to rid Pyrrha of her own free will and of the whole by-her-own-rules thing, because he access Qrow of FORCING HER INTO IT. It also shows a lot about how Jaune views Pyrrha. He doesn’t see a strong young woman who is brave and self-sacrifcing and makes her own decisions. He sees her as this...idk object? that doesn’t have it’s own free will and is just moved around by others. Ok, maybe I’m taking it too far but this is how it at times looks to me. And this is saddening to me, it is saddening that I see, or at least it seems so that Pyrrha’s death is being reduced to manpain. And this brings me back to her relationship with Jaune and generally relationships girls have with Jaune because it kind of follows similar patterns. When she was alive Pyrrha was kind of like Superhero’s Grifriend. Sure she needn’t saving all the time but she was there to be his pillar of strength, to tell him he’s doing good ect. and now after her death volume 4 is doing the same things. Then we have Weiss, whose relation to Jaune was to give him angst over rejection and unrequited love. @sssn-neptune-vasilias pointed out, so very, very well that she was ‘another thing that Jaune wanted’ instead of a person. and now it seems that even Ruby, the protagonist of the show, is being reduced to a prop for Jaune Arc’s plot line. She slowly becomes another Comforter like Pyrrha was, another girl who is there to be his pillar of strength while he has angst while she isn’t allowed to have her own feelings and emotional trauma. She doesn’t get to mourn Pyrrha or ponder over her death. She instead stumbles upon Jaune listening to recordings and watches Jaune with concern and sadness in her eyes because ‘oh, Poor Jaune’. When Shinon gets destroyed and Jaune has another angsty moment, Ruby who too should be distressed and who kinda is over the destruction and dead Huntsman, once again turns to comfort Jaune, and put her hand on his shoulder. Because his angst  again is the most important thing we should focus on. Then we have the talk with Qrow and again Jaune’s feelings and Ruby doesn’t react much when the dude says ‘fat lot of help you are’(it’s not exaxct qoute but it’s basically what he says) because Jaune again has right to act this way Because He Found Out Truth About Pyrrha, so obviously we shouldn’t be too harsh. And then we have parting with Nora and Ren line. Again, despite the fact her uncle is seriously hurt Ruby’s priority as a character is to comfort worried Jaune. Again she is not allowed to have her own emotions and her worries, because Jaune’s are more important and as the only girl left she has to attend to them. And Jaune, just like on that roof with Pyrrha and on that balcony, instead of being thankful or considerate tells her that ‘we don’t know that’, which makes it even more annoying because he again comes off as completely ungrateful; and someone who treats this kindness as either something due to him that he doesn’t have to appreciate. Or annoyance. And it annoys me. I DO NOT HATE JAUNE ARC. I really don’t. He is a good character, but THE WAY THEY WRITE HIM and the way THEY FOCUS ON HIM, the way HIS EMOTIONS ARE MOST IMPORTANT AND OVERRULE EVERYTHING ELSE is what makes me angry. Fine, give some development to the side-character, have them have emotions but please focus on other characters too ESPECIALLY MAIN CHARACTER.

First, I swear I’ll explain about the picture in a minute.

Next, it’s totally okay, I understand completely.  I, too, am prone to being a total space cadet sometimes.  My top skills are remembering/thinking of things when I’m in no position to act on them (composing review questions while at work, thinking of phone call I forgot to make while driving, realizing I didn’t show my mom the sonogram my friend sent me right as I fall asleep, etc.)  Really, I’m just happy finding others to talk about this stuff with who seem to appreciate and enjoy it as much as I do. :D

Omg, I’m SO EXCITED to see the necklace turn up, however that happens!  And as someone who 90% of the time also uses drinkware featuring superheroes and other nerdery for their alcohol, I very much approve Derek’s choices, whether it makes it into the story or not.  I also enjoyed both versions of the chapter flashback, but the first was definitely more “Oh My…”, and the redo more straight up fluffy and adorable. 

And I love all that stuff in the ideas tag!  With Corey there’s so much potential stuff that can be done with someone with those types of powers.  I admit I don’t know too much about exactly how his are supposed to work. his powers are due to genetics and not outside forces in this, could it perhaps be connected to how Gerard has been able to do some of the things he’s done?   (Could the wolves track him while invisible in the show?)  And oh, my God, that is a total Moon Moon moment (resisting the urge to make a comment about why Ian was trying to fit a ball in his mouth).  I choose to believe that Noah and Chris coordinated to trick Peter into doing that and managing to get it on camera.  They threaten to make it part of the family Christmas card.  Peter only agrees if they make it so that all the pictures used embarrass everyone equally.  Which is where some of the BTS type stuff could come in.  (My lord, they are all such dorks.  I mean, I follow Ian, Linden, JR, and Hoechlin on Insta and or Twitter, so we been knew, really, but still. XD )  And I’m all for any plot points or incidents that allow Lydia to showcase just how awesome she truly is.  Also, I will never turn down an idea that involves puppy piles and cuddle puddles.  I’ve been in this fandom too damn long not to have developed a deep-seated love for damaged characters getting the affection and comfort they deserve.

I’m so glad you’re enjoying the examples of my often questionable musical tastes. ;D  I think I first heard that song on an anime music video (for LOVELESS I think, of all things), and I was just like “well this is catchy as hell”.  As someone whose musical tastes are all over the gd place, I like to imagine they all have some genre that they’re secretly a fan of but don’t want to admit to because it might clash with their grunge-y punk image (the other two totally know anyway.)  Speculatively I’d say boy bands for Peter, bubblegum pop/pop-punk for Chris, and classic (read: dad) rock for Noah, but I welcome other opinions. 

And jsyk, it really makes me happy to know that my reviews are helpful for more than just story ideas.  Which partially brings me to the picture I’ve attached.  I work in a pet supply store, and the item on the right is a dog toy we carry and every time I look at it, all I can think of is how much it reminds me of Deucalion.  Like, I can’t not see it at this point.  And nobody I work with would have the slightest idea what I’m talking about, so I finally made this so that I could share it those that might get why it’s so funny to me.  So here it is.  And if you are still in need of things for distractions, here is a list of some random incidents that have (mostly) occurred at my work in the last few days:

1) Someone left a 4 Iron in one of our shopping carts along the far wall of the store.  We have no clue where it came from, we aren’t anywhere near any kind of golf or sporting goods store.  (I checked and there was no sign of blood on it, so no one was ditching a weapon on us or something.)

2) I walked into our warehouse and asked “why does it smell like sparklers in here?”, saw a coworker standing looking out the back door, and walked over to see that there was a car on fire about a block away in another parking lot.  (The fire department was already on scene putting it out, it looked like it started near the front driver’s side tire?)

3) A child ate one of the fancy dog treats we have on display (luckily that one is mainly yoghurt and peppermint extract), and then try to drink from the fountain we have set up for any dogs that come in.  I don’t think mom ever noticed.

4) We now carry a special, highly filtered, and ph-balanced (and overpriced) bottled cat water (no really), that seems simultaneously like a brilliant idea (because UTIs), but also somehow one of the whitest things I’ve ever seen (and I say this as a white person who grew up basically middle-class).

5) One of the smoke alarms in my apartment started doing the dead battery warning beep at around midnight Sunday night.  I unfortunately was out of the size I needed to replace it, so I just popped out the one that was in it.  Turns out it’s also hardwired, so that did nothing.  It beeped the entire night.  I would have gotten worried about my neighbors, but they had one that they let beep for like a week back in Feb, so I decided I didn’t care.  When I stopped to buy a replacement I also ended up buying two bags of candy with the justification that they were on sale and I might need them for the next chapter.

6) Our pet bathing area re-opened, which meant we finally got a visit from one of my fave canine customers.  His name is Jax, he’s an American Akita, and he is a gigantic, sweet, bear of a dog.  Seriously, he comes to about my hip (I’m right around 5'4), weighs around 190lbs, and is a beautiful dark brown/black brindle all over.  He is also one of the most calm, chill dogs I have ever met (he’s been coming in for years), and I love to watch other people react to seeing him for the first time.

7) While searching around my music files and Spotify for suggestions, I got distracted and ended up treating my neighbors to an impromptu concert that consisted mostly of 00s divas and 60s bubblegum pop (oddly, a lot of Herman’s Hermits and Ohio Express has a very similar vibe to Bowling for Soup, to me at least), because I had headphones in, and didn’t realize I’d started singing along for…a while.  I did consider apologizing for that, at least, but ultimately decided to just ignore that it happened.

Anyway, I hope you are feeling a bit better now, and that some of the weirdness that is my life at least provides some entertainment.  And that the therapy session at least feels like something you think will help in the long run, even if it sucks massively right now.  I’m so proud of you for going, and sticking with it (I know so many who need to who don’t, for whatever reason).  It is hard, and exhausting, and I am always awed by those that are determined to see it through.  (Sorry if any of that comes across weird.  My automatic supportive defaults tend to be humor and awkward sincerity, and I always worry that one will come across as the other and vice versa.  Social anxiety is a hell of a drug.)  So, I’m gonna go ahead and wrap up the verbal flailing for now, please enjoy whenever you see this tomorrow (I think?  I’m terrible about keeping track of that sort of thing.  Also, how is most of Europe just one time zone?!  …anyway…)

I definitely toned that scene down, though I kept some necessary exposition where Chris thinks on what happened between them. Might include some teenage raunchiness later, as someone pointed out to me, Peter would definitely be like that, as would Noah (probably). Chris would definitely be more reserved, he barely got a sex education aside from abstinence. ( Because I don’t see Gerard as the type of person who’d give his son the talk, honestly.)  

And as someone who also drinks alcohol in superhero or Halloween glasses and mugs, I had to throw Derek’s very mature choice in there. Batman mug stays XD

I’ll admit, that was exactly what I was thinking with Corey’s power and how I could use it in the story. So I’m curious to see where I’ll go with it eventually, but yeah, that’s on my idea list.

And they are the biggest dorks, I follow Ian, JR, Colton, and Holland on and my lord, they’re such dorks. Definitely following Linden now too though. hehe.

I can see them trying that trick with Jackson, Malia, Ben, and Scott as well. Scott just falls face first and tries to fit a tennis ball into his mouth. Ben just looks at the tennis ball, figures that ain’t gonna fit and balances it on his face instead. Malia opens her mouth, notices the camera coming out, and just poses while smiling at the camera. Jackson though pretends to not understand what he has to do until Chris shows him how it’s done and then Jackson quickly points to Chris and while Noah films it laughing his ass off.

They make an awesome Christmas card with all of them doing something with that tennis ball.

Also, Nickelback for Chris & Never gonna give you up. They're guilty pleasures. I would also like to suggest for Peter, either the Spice girls or like the Vengaboys. Gets him going but only when he’s alone at home and he’s wearing headphones. Because God forbids someone else hears it too. And I kinda wanna say Baby Metal for Noah. Idk seems like that might fit him and it’s hilarious to think about. Some headcanons don’t need to make sense.

I feel like that’s basically toddler behavior. Also, Ben did this at some point. One hundred percent. He walked into the pet section at a store and started eating the dog treats. Chris didn’t notice, Peter did, asked him about it and went; well, it’s probably not toxic for him, so whatever. He did film it. Noah and Chris yelled at him.

That is the whitest shit I’ve ever heard. And yes I’m white too from lower middle class. But still...

I wish I had funny ones really. Only one I can think of is some of my customers I run into as a tech support guy.

Customer calls me to tell me they don’t have internet. I ask, “Where’s your modem and how is it plugged into the network?”

Customer: It’s still in the box I received it in.. it’s wireless..”

Me: 

Cue ten-minute argument on how it’s not wireless like that and how he needs to install his modem... yeah. People and technology...

But anyway, I’ll stop rambling now because it’s 1 am here and I need to go to sleep again.
