Euro-Med Monitor reports of countless civilians killed in the streets and in homes by Israeli army snipers, or targeted by Israeli artillery shells, with their bodies being left on the ground for days or weeks on end. There is also ample evidence and video of boys and men being rounded up, stripped down to their underwear and abused. Every man is guilty until proven innocent and have no way to prove their innocence through the human rights abuses and abuse- including children.
Field executions are part of the horrifying crimes committed by Israeli forces in various incursion zones in the Gaza Strip, along with looting, intimidation, arbitrary detention, torture, threats of rape, and widespread destruction, Euro-Med Monitor reports.
The United States is complicit in these crimes against humanity and war crimes. The White House continues to bypass Congress to arm Israel as it breaks and violates international law.
This Art Activism is part of a daily grassroots movement in Washington DC, organized by activist and humanitarian @hazami. The goal is to bring awareness and action to end the atrocities in Gaza and to inspire Americans to realize their role and power in creating change to Free Palestine. While we will never fully understand what those in Gaza are experiencing, we do all that we can to ensure the impacts are felt in Washington DC.

How Much Does Daycare Cost in 2024? The Stats Are Sobering
Going back to work after having a baby is not a cheap thing to do. The average cost of daycare in 2024 is higher than it's ever been, marking an expensive new chapter in the decades-long childcare crisis in the United States. "Parents are paying exorbitant fees," says Cathy Creighton, who studies childcare costs as the director of Cornell University's ILR Buffalo Co-Lab. For many families, daycare prices are higher than in-state tuition at a public four-year college. If you're getting ready to send your little one to daycare when parental leave is over, buckle up - here's an idea of the costs you might be looking at. The Average Cost of Daycare in 2024 According to a January 2024 report from childcare platform Care.com, which draws from the tuition info of daycares listed on the site, the average cost to have an infant in a licensed center-based daycare is $16,692 a year, or $321 a week. Home-based daycare for an infant costs, on average, $11,960, or $230 a week. For a toddler, the average center-based daycare is $15,236 a year ($293 a week), and a home-based daycare averages $11,388 ($219 a week). For parents of school-age kids, meanwhile, Care.com found the average cost to get an afternoon sitter for 15 hours a week is $15,184 per year, or $292 a week. Of course, costs can vary widely depending on where you live. For instance, the average infant daycare cost in Washington DC is $21,788, while in Arkansas, it's $6,708. Even within a state, there can be a huge difference between the fees in a major city and a rural or lower-income area. Why Daycare Costs Are Rising These numbers are all higher than they were last year, varying between .4 to 13 percent more. And Sean Lacey, general manager of childcare at Care.com, says that fees are only projected to grow further this year. That's partially due to inflation, but mostly because of what's been termed "the childcare cliff": the end of the $24 billion in pandemic-era federal funding that supported 220,000 childcare providers. The aid just expired in September 2023, so we're only starting to see the effects, according to Creighton. "You know, there's a cut, and it'll take a little while for the body to bleed out," she says. "It's going to be quite grim." Without those government funds, daycare centers - which operate on very slim margins - have to either pass that cost along to parents or shut down. Progressive think tank The Century Foundation projects that 70,000 childcare centers will close, leaving more than three million children across the country without care. Meanwhile, many of the daycare centers that continue to remain open are having trouble staying fully staffed, per an analysis from the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment. Classrooms are empty, and wait lists are growing. "There's just more demand than there is supply," Lacey says. The Effects of High Daycare Costs For all but the very wealthy and parents who qualify for a childcare subsidy, daycare is a major financial burden. The US Department of Health and Human Services considers childcare to be "affordable" when it costs no more than seven percent of a family's income. Yet according to Care.com's findings, parents are spending an average of 24 percent of their household income on childcare, and 23 percent of respondents anticipate spending more than $36,000 on it this year. And it's not just their salaries they're using to pay for tuition. More than a third of parents surveyed by Care.com reported dipping into their savings to cover the cost of childcare - and a staggering 68 percent of those families said they only have six months or less until their savings are depleted. At a certain point, parents are forced to take more drastic measures. Cornell's recent research on childcare in New York, released in March 2024, found that 42 percent of respondents who had kids said someone in their household had stopped working to take care of their children, and 76 percent… https://www.popsugar.com/family/daycare-cost-49345724?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=tumblr

Shortwave Radiogram, 19-22 January 2024 (program 338): Dirt-powered digital modes
If you are looking for some winter reading, check out my "Why we need Shortwave 2.0" in the January 17 Radio World. It includes discussion of our Shortwave Radiogram project, to which you all contribute. After a writing drought, I also had a piece on the politico-bureaucratic side of international broadcasting in the The Hill, January 5: "‘Radio Free Everywhere’ defeats the purpose of Voice of America." Read them. They will help you get to sleep. Speaking of droughts, our snow drought in the Washington DC area ended with about four inches (10 cm) on January 16. And there will be more tonight. It's amazing to see the tracks of the wildlife on all sides of our house, including foxes, maybe coyotes, deer, rabbits, and assorted others. I am now keeping gates open to facilitate their movements.  Temperatures here have dropped below 20F/-7C. Chances are it's colder, with more snow on the ground, where you are. A video of last weekend's Shortwave Radiogram (program 337) is provided by Scott in Ontario (Friday 1300 UTC). The audio archive is maintained by Mark in the UK. Analysis is provided by Roger in Germany. You Could Say the Massive Pro-Terrorist Rally in DC Devolved Into an Insurrection
Tumblr media
Hordes of pro-terrorist supporters invaded Washington, DC, to voice support for a ceasefire in Gaza, which will only benefit the barbaric animals that call themselves Hamas. This terror group launched a heinous attack against Israel on October 7, murdering 1,200 Israeli men, women, and children. The genocidal assault sowed the seeds for Hamas's destruction as Israeli forces invaded the Gaza Strip later that month.
The IDF has one goal: the destruction of this terrorist organization that’s dominated the Gaza Strip since 2007. Despite protests from Arab leaders of the Israeli operation, they’re reportedly encouraging Israel’s campaign against the terror group behind the scenes, even going so far as to say Israel shouldn't stop until Hamas is destroyed. Everyone sees them as a domestic threat (via Washington Post):
Thousands of protesters gathered in downtown D.C. Saturday afternoon at a rally calling for a cease-fire in Gaza and a halt to U.S. aid to Israel.  A sea of black, green, red and white flags floated over the crowd in Freedom Plaza, blocks from the White House, as the protesters chanted “Free Free Palestine” and held picket signs with messages such as “Cease Fire Now” and “End the War in Gaza.” Other signs accused the Israeli government of practicing apartheid and charged President Biden with genocide.  The rally was part of a global day of protests that saw similar pro-Palestinian marches in cities including London, Rome, Paris, Dublin, Johannesburg and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Demonstrators, who arrived by the busload and streamed from Metro stations, expressed outrage over the ongoing war and U.S. support for Israel’s bombing campaign that has displaced much of the population and left more than 23,000 Gazans dead and approximately 60,000 wounded, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.  […]  Merveen Adwan said she was born in Gaza, but fled with her three children after a spate of violence in 2000 and now lives in Montgomery County.  “I’ve been living this life since I was born,” Adwan said. “Israel is committing genocide under the eyes of the whole world, with the aid of the U.S., and the rest of the world accepts that. If there is no justice in Gaza, that means there can be none in the whole world.”

There is no genocide, you idiots. And we don’t know the real death toll. Hamas runs the Gaza Health Ministry. The Left has taken a nasty liking to Hamas, which is fueled by virulent antisemitism. Based on the Left’s rules, the terrorist sympathizers fomented an armed rebellion outside the White House:

And this right here is why I couldn’t care less about the so-called pro-Palestinian side. They’re just terrorists:

The R&B singer has announced dates for her “Heart on My Sleeve” tour. The 34-date trek kicks off March 31 in Wallingford, Conn. and travels across North America, with stops in New York, Atlanta, Miami, and Los Angeles, wrapping June 1 in Toronto.
The tour comes in support of her latest album Heart on My Sleeve, which was released in May. A deluxe edition is set for release on Feb. 2.
“The deluxe tracks are some of my favorite songs currently so I’m happy to be able to share them with the world,” said Ella. “I get to bring new life to a body of work that is a year old but remains very close to my heart. Likewise with the Heart On My Sleeve Tour. This is the first time I’m getting to perform some of these tracks live. It’s almost like reading your diary aloud in front of an audience, but there’s no better place for me to be vulnerable than in my music and on stage with my fans.”
This will be Ella’s third headlining tour since 2018. She most recently joined Mary J. Blige on her “Good Morning Gorgeous Tour” last fall.

28-29: 10 Months (March 2019-December 2019)
Occupational Goal(s): Kate finishes her book!!!!!! Gets the editing done!!!!!! Gets it published!!!!! I try to get promoted to an evening director.
Script Goal(s): Try to get a ~basic outline going of what happens in each of the five seasons. Honestly, though, I feel like WFTH should be a priority over ODR at this point. Obviously any work we can do during this time on ODR would be great, but I don’t think it should be at the expense of your other WIP
Living Location: Your Apartment in Frederick/My Apartment in Hagerstown
29-30: 16 Months (January 2020-July 2021)
Occupational Goal(s): Kate gets a job somewhere!!! awesome-ish in Hagerstown!!! (Potentials: Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, The Jonathan Hager House, The Price Miller House (10 minute walk!!!), Hagerstown Magazine, there’s also the library and the theater (both in walking distance) which could potentially be interesting? Hagerstown isn’t a terrible commute to Frederick but I wouldn’t want you to do that daily if you didn’t have to!! As a side note, I did notice that the museums have volunteer positions available which may be a way to get your foot in the door if you are underqualified for the actual jobs. Potentially might be a thing to try before you apply anyway to see how you like working there? I try to get promoted to weekend supervisory director.
Script Goal(s): We get a more detailed outline going for the entire series (Six Months) and write a draft of the first season (1 year)
Living Location: Apartment in Hagerstown (Also this is based on basically the soonest you could probably move in? A is thinking she’d move out sometime in November and honestly you are welcome to move in as soon as she moves out, but I feel like 10 months is a good amount of time for you to finish your book etc. You can also wait, obviously, if you aren’t ready but I though January 2020 was a nice time to shoot for.)
30-33: 3 Years (July 2021-July 2024)
Occupational Goals: I get a job with Maryland Public TV, WBAL, WMAR, CBS 13, or FOX. Somewhere in this period I also stop working for Kathy!!!!! You get a job with the Walters, Baltimore Museum of Art, or perhaps a publisher???? IDK something awesome!!! (or you are just a fulltime author!!!)
Script Goal(s): We write a rough draft of seasons 2, 3, and 4
Living Location: A cute little house somewhere outside of Baltimore OR potentially a nice townhouse downtown especially if we are both working in the city so we don’t have to deal with the commute
33-35: 2 Years (July 2024-July 2026)
Occupational Goals: Get jobs in DC!!!!
Script Goal(s): Rough Draft of Season 5, edit and rework Season 1
Living Location: Somewhere outside of DC/perhaps the cottage if it’s a thing
35-38: 3 Years (July 2026-July 2029)
Occupational Goal(s): Get jobs with NBC and the Met/Publishing House??? /one of the other million options for museums/publishing/writing/directing in NYC
Script Goal(s): Write Final Drafts of Season 2-4 start Networking (ew); Hire a Literary Manager and start shopping around our pilot
Living Location: A cool NYC apartment
38-41: 3 Years (July 2029-July 2032)
Occupational Goal(s): Our script has been picked up by someone!!! We are hired as consultants!!!! I feel like the pre-production phase may take up to three years for something as large and complex as ODR?
Script Goal(s):Finish Season 5/Work on other projects as time/inspiration permits
Living Location: Depending on who picks it up, honestly, but for the sake of this let’s say it is Netflix and we have a charming house by the ocean in LA
41-46: 5 Years (July 2032-July 2037)
Occupational Goal(s): We work as consultants for ODR and enjoy our success. Win a Golden Globe (obviously ;DDD)
Script Goal(s): Work on other projects as time/inspiration permits
Living Location: Potentially still in LA/potentially traveling a lot if we are involved enough that we travel to the sets!!!!!!
46-Death
Occupational Goal(s): Take our money that we’ve made and use it to support us while we explore our next idea. Potentially we already have a pilot written and, given the massive success of our last project, we are getting paid to write it. We set up charities.
Living Location: We’ve retired to England to write. We own a very cozy dream cottage in the country that satisfies all of our wants. We travel frequently <333

AmpliTech Group’s Division, AmpliTech Inc, Unveils Its New KA LNB Unit, Designed For Superior Performance In LEO, MEO, GEO And KA Band Teleport Applications
Tumblr media
HAUPPAUGE, NY, January 30, 2024 - AmpliTech Group, Inc (Nasdaq: AMPG), a designer, developer, and manufacturer of state-of-the-art signal-processing components for satellite, 5G, and other communications networks, including the design of complete 5G/6G systems, and a global distributor of packages and lids for integrated circuit assembly, today announced its AmpliTech Inc Division’s newest product release, a Ka Band LNB (Low-Noise Block Down Converter Unit). Featuring its proprietary AmpliTech LNA low noise technology, this Ka Band LNB was designed for superior performance in small sats, LEO, MEO, GEO and portable or fixed Ka-Band teleport applications.
This innovative new product is part of AmpliTech’s rollout of targeted industry solutions that improve and transform current telecommunications technology. Blending Discrete and AmpliTech’s own Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) technologies, is set to achieve the lowest noise temperatures worldwide, coupled with unparalleled stability.
The LNB acts as a crucial intermediary between the satellite in space and the user's satellite receiver, these are installed in satellite dishes to receive the signals transmitted by satellites in orbit, ensuring that the signals are received, processed, and transmitted with minimal noise and optimal quality for everyday communications. CEO Fawad Maqbool remarked, “LNBs are essential and located in the feed of the dish antennas that we see everywhere (even on rooftops of homes) all over the world. The little box that is in the middle of the dish is an LNB that is responsible for picking up the small signals coming from streaming companies like Amazon, Disney, CNN, and a multitude of other entertainment providers. The higher performance in these LNBs, means less downtime and better quality of signal to your TV or laptop. So, the next time you get a nice clean picture on your TV, there is a hard-working LNB making this possible. AmpliTech is committed to making the highest performing LNBs in the industry for everyone’s viewing pleasure.”
Fawad Maqbool, further stated, “This new product release attests to our constant push to maximize the use of our proprietary low noise technology into products that truly differentiate themselves on performance. This Ka LNB uses our own MMIC & LNA technology, enabling superior performance and opens new opportunities as we target demand from small sats, LEO, MEO, GEO and portable or fixed Ka-Band teleport applications. We are constantly exploring new frontiers, and I am delighted that our research and development team successfully launched this innovative product ahead of our participation in the upcoming Satellite Show scheduled for March in Washington DC. Visit our Booth 2909 to explore this and other groundbreaking solutions we'll be showcasing to the industry."
