Here's my takes on Kanata's siblings; Benitsuru and Hamato Ando.

First sprites are how they looked like around the time Sdra2 takes place while the second one is Beni at 20 years old while her brother is 41

Hamato is the one that looks the most like their father, he also got Hikaru's kind nature and so tends to want to help whenever he can on whatever he can. He loves his family a whole lot and would drop everything he's doing to go help them, which is what he did when Beni needed him during and after the tragedy.

She was only a baby when that mess started and if it wasn't for their mother hiding her away in their house she definitely wouldn't have survived after the despairs broke in. While Mrs.Ando was dead by the time Hikaru was able to make it back to their house, he found Benitsuru after a bit of searching and from there on out he tried to find his other kid's whereabouts. After they reunited with Hamato (who was looking for them as much as they were looking for him) Hikaru would ask him to stay behind taking care of Beni while he looked for Kanata.

This is what happened when he went to that facility in chapter 6.5 and afterwards Hamato and Benitsuru were brought to the Kisaragi foundation by a group of foundation personel.

Since their father started working as the place's doctor he became very busy, so Hamato spent the next couple years raising his little sister, which obviously led to them becoming super close to one another. Beni would ask him about how their mother and sister were like, how the world was before and generally a lot of other random stuff since she loved hearing tell these stories of the past to her.

It was from hearing her brother and the survivors from the proto killing game speak of Kanata that Beni development a strong admiration for her late sister, which in turn made her sad that she couldn't remember her much. It was then that Beni decided she wanted to be like Kanata when she grows up, even if her main interest was studying world history and not medicine.

When she was about 7 and could look after herself a bit more she started following her father around the foundation and watching him work, meanwhile Hikaru urged Hamato to take some time to focus himself and get back on his studies so that he could hopefully still graduate when things go back to normal (He was an architecture major in college when the tragedy happened).

It was from hanging around Hikaru that Beni started to grow close to her father, since with everything that happened the two didn't know each other very much. It was also there that she ended up meeting Akira, since her mother would bring her to Hikaru for health check ups. While she didn't view Akira as a friend right away, the two became super close and eventually became a couple.

As an adult, Benitsuru works as a doctor's assistant alongside her dad at the Kisaragi foundation. While Hamato went on to work on big projects to rebuild houses and towns that were destroyed during the tragedy.

Lastly, here's a sketch of all 3 siblings from when Kanata was still alive. Hamato was 23 and Beni was 2 years old!

Where did you leave your other kids Hikaru?

Well they should be at the home we were staying at until the tragedy has calmed down, my son is watching my daughter.

Oh so you have other children, then how old are they?

Well, his name is Hamato - he was attending college before the tragedy started while my daughter, Benitsuru is only 3.

While my wife, she uh... she died protecting Beni; she kept her hidden and thankfully she wasn't found until me and Hamato came home...

I'm... sorry to hear that, Mr. Ando...

In a non-despair au(no kg) how do you think beni and kanata would interact?

First and foremost, i feel like Kanata and Hamato's roles on her life would sorta switch around?

Since in a world where the despairs aren't a thing and the tragedy never happened he would have remained in college and become an architect which would make him pretty busy, so he'd really just visit the family every so often instead of being with Beni basically all the time through her childhood. So they definitely wouldn't be as close to one another as they are in the tragedy timeline and Beni would have grown up close to Kanata instead.

While she does have her work as a surgeon and studies in hope's peak i think Kanata would still take time of her day to go talk to her sister and ask how was her day at school and how she's doing, Beni was a very curious kid so i imagine she would sneak into Kanata's room while she's reading/studying and sit beside her. I also feel like in this scenario she would know Kinji too? He was friends with Kanata and liked taking care of the kids from his church so i imagine Kanata would bring him to meet her sister.

As she grows older they'd have longer, more meaningful conversation where they sorta just talk for hours and hours switching from one topic to another. I feel like Beni would ask Kanata for guidance whenever she's struggling with something, also think Kanata would try to help her with her anger issues a bit, tho obviously she wouldn't want Beni to bottle up her emotions or anything.

But the main thing that would change here is that Beni wouldn't have become a medical professional, yeah, she'd still admired her sister a lot but it's Kanata's absence in her life in the tragedy timeline and the fact that she hardly recalls how she was like that made Benitsuru want to become like her as much as she did. So with Kanata around she would have become some kind of historian instead, since that's something she has a real passion for.

#it's not like Beni dislikes medicine or anything #she's just that person that has something else as her main interest in life but went onto develop a career that had nothing to do with it #for one reason or another #so studying world history (documenting the tragedy) is just a hobby of hers #ties into why she goes out of her way to support Akira in her carrer even tho Beni doesn't like music that much #seeing her gf be able to put all her time and effort into something she genuinely adores doing makes her happy #when Akira's first big concert happened she gave Beni (and her family too) tickets to go see it #without pressuring he much since she knows Beni doesn't like loud places. she had in mind that he probably wouldn't go #but wanted her to have the ticket anyway #tho she did end up going. even if her head felt like it was about to explode by the end Beni wanted to be there for Akira's proper debut #it's the only show of her's she's ever gone to #dra #danganronpa another #Benitsuru ando #Kanata Inori #Hamato Ando #Kinji Uehara #oc #original character #hyena ramblings

Akira and girlfriend/childhood friend that she bothers constantly (in a loving playful manner, of course)

Beni is like a cat in the sense that she'll hiss and scratch people when shown affection/hj #you get what i mean #and being a Kizuna spawn Akira tends to show physical affection to the people she likes quite often #tho generally not in a flirty way. she's just hugging and spinning people around and resting her arm/head on their shoulders #what the hell is personal space #anyways #glasses girl is Benitsuru or Beni for short (Akira calls her Clover) #she's not a fankid per say? at least not in the same vein as Akira #she's Kanata's younger sister. as she's stated to have a younger sister an an older bother that are Hikaru's bio kids #she's an year and a half older than Akira and works in the Kisaragi foundation as a doctor's assistant #so she works with he dad there #I'll elaborate on her soon but for now you should know these two are essentially low energy and high energy couple #they met because Kizuna would bring Akira to Ando for check-up when she was kid and Beni was usually around him #so Akira would go talk to her even tho Beni wasn't very interested at first. sorta just saw her like “that kid that talks to her sometimes” #Beni is like. Despite having really bad eyesight Beni only got her glasses when she was around 12-13 years old, so for basically her whole childhood she was tripping over and bumping into things, hence why the bandaids on her kid design.

While Akira was ecstatic to meet a kid her age that didn't bully/pick up on her it took a little while for Beni to consider her a friend. Not because she disliked her, it's just that having only been around people way older than her for as long as she could remember Beni also didn't had friends her age before, so she didn't realize right away that Akira considered her one.
