Blog Post #19!

Dear Kathryn,

I hope all is well! I just finished listening to some podcasts that I think you may find interesting. Let me tell you about each of them!

The first podcast that I listened to was hosted by Cait Duffy. Cait discusses tinnitus and some of the research behind it. Cait gave some examples of what tinnitus is, what it sounds like, research behind it using a lot over very scholarly sources in her podcast. Cait also discussed Music Therapy and how it can be used to help treat tinnitus. I think that you would love this Podcast because it contain’s a musician’s experience with tinnitus and how if affected him. I also think that it would be interesting to do another podcast where she interview a Music Therapist who has worked with a tinnitus patient and ask them about the process of therapy for tinnitus.

The second one that I listened to was hosted by Kaitlin Jacobson. This podcast overall has a very positive meaning behind it. Kaitlin gives ideas and tips to beat boredom and stay positive everyday, with a current focus in quarantine. She also talks about how music is beneficial for children with special needs, and provides a YouTube channel for people to look at who may benefit from learning more about this topic. She gives examples and answers some commonly asked questions, asked by her sister, in her podcast which provided some insight that could be beneficial in your future classroom. I think Kaitlin should do a future episode where she interviews a participant and the director of a Penguin Project show, so we can hear how it affects these different individuals. Overall, Kaitlin’s podcast left me feeling happy and very positive, and I definitely think that you should give it a listen!

I hope that you give these a listen and learn something new!
