Republican Congressman Chip Roy of Texas (one of the worst MAGAts) told the press in frustration “we’re supposed to be portraying him as having dementia but every time we meet with him he eats our lunch.”
This is where experience comes in and experience comes with age. Biden and Pelosi are master politicians. The Republicans have nobody on par with Biden. Anyone with ageism comments needs to shut up or well end up being ruled Trump who’s only three years younger or Nikki Haley who is a puppet of literal Neo-Nazi oligarchs.
I’m not going back to being ruled by MAGA Republicans! I’m not going back to the cruelty and chaos of right-wing Republican fascism.

Kevin McCarthy owes his long-desired Speakership to a group of 21 holdouts finally caving, all of whom have been rewarded for flipping with plum committee assignments.
McCarthy made no secret of his ambition to be Speaker, apparently no matter the cost, and the California Republican made us all sit through 15 agonizing votes before finally making enough deals to win. But it seems that the many changes to the rules package were not the only concessions he made.
Representative Lauren Boebert kept her seat on the Committee on Natural Resources and received a new post on the powerful House Oversight Committee. She is joined there by Scott Perry, Anna Paulina Luna, and Paul Gosar. Gosar was previously stripped of all committee assignments after he shared an animated video showing him killing Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking President Joe Biden with swords.
Andy Biggs and Matt Gaetz who, along with Boebert, were some of the most vocal McCarthy critics, will keep their seats on the House Judiciary Committee, along with Chip Roy and Dan Bishop. Byron Donalds, who at one point ran against McCarthy for Speaker, will stay on the House Oversight Committee and has joined the House Committee on Financial Services. Many other McCarthy holdouts will keep their committee assignments.
McCarthy also rewarded his allies: Jim Jordan, who consistently voted for McCarthy even when the holdouts nominated Jordan for Speaker, is the new Chair of the House Judiciary Committee.
Marjorie Taylor Greene spent months allying herself with McCarthy and urging her colleagues to back him. She, like Gosar, was stripped of committee assignments by Democrats for her inflammatory social media posts. Greene now sits on the Oversight Committee and the Committee on Homeland Security. Problematic king George Santos voted for McCarthy every time, and not only has the new Speaker refrained from condemning the freshman congressman’s many lies but McCarthy also gave him two committee assignments.
James Comer is the new Chair of the Oversight Committee. Mike Rogers threatened to withhold committee assignments from the holdouts and even nearly came to blows with Gaetz for refusing to vote for McCarthy. He now Chairs the Armed Services Committee.
The White House slammed the assignments, with spokesman Ian Sams telling Axios, “It appears that House Republicans may be setting the stage for divorced-from-reality political stunts, instead of engaging in bipartisan work on behalf of the American people.”
“Republicans are handing the keys of oversight to the most extreme MAGA members of the Republican caucus who promote violent rhetoric and dangerous conspiracy theories,” he said.
Ritchie Torres, former Vice Chair of the Homeland Security Committee, tweeted he was “horrified” by Greene’s assignment to the group.

Newsroom Odisha: Two African-Americans fight for House Speaker's post as Kevin McCarthy loses bid
Newsroom Odisha: Two African-Americans fight for House Speaker's post as Kevin McCarthy loses bid.
McCarthy, who pledged to bring an impeachment motion against President Joe Biden and probes against the latter’s son Hunter Biden for his China trade links, found he had chinks in his armour as 20 extreme right-wingers from the deep south frustrated his bid to get to 218 to hold the gavel.
The Congressman did not meet their demands in the House earlier on: putting their members in the Ways and Means committee that controls funds, health care and taxes, Appropriation committee that monitors and controls the flow of cash from the treasury.
It was endgame for McCarthy as Texas representative Chip Roy nominated Donalds to hold the Speaker’s gavel against fellow African-American Hakeem Jefferies of the Democratic Party, as the latter stood united throughout six ballots of voting, all 213 democrats voted as en bloc against the Republican.
But who is Donalds, why was he nominated is what the US media and the general people are asking.
Hard-right Republicans nominated Donalds of Florida to be House Speaker on Wednesday night, making it the first time in history that both major parties nominated an African-American to lead the lower chamber of Congress, media reports said.
“Byron is a dear friend, a solid conservative but most importantly a family man who loves dearly his wife, Erika, his three children; has a proven track record as a businessman, public service in the Florida legislature and now as a member of the United States Congress,” said Ro, who put him up to end the stalemate caused by the rebels.

On January 6, 2021, when Capitol Police evacuated the House chamber, McCarthy went to his office, accompanied by Bruce Westerman, a Republican congressman from Arkansas. Once the rioters breached the building, security officers took McCarthy to a military base, where he joined Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer. Westerman, who stayed behind, grabbed a Civil War sword from a display in McCarthy’s office and hid in the Minority Leader’s private bathroom.
Of the top four leaders in the House and the Senate, McCarthy was the only one on regular speaking terms with Donald Trump. Members were texting McCarthy, begging him to tell the President to call off the rioters. When he reached Trump by phone, the President reportedly said, “Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are.”
Before the insurrection, McCarthy had told his members that the vote to certify the election would be a “vote of conscience”: there wasn’t a party-line position, so no one would be punished for how he voted. But this also meant that members were on their own at a time when many of them were receiving death threats from constituents. The only member of the Republican House leadership to take a strong stance against the President’s lies was Liz Cheney, of Wyoming. At first, McCarthy refused to clarify his position and wouldn’t answer when members asked him for direction. The factions weren’t clearly divided along ideological lines. A group of fierce conservatives, including Chip Roy, a congressman from Texas and a member of the Freedom Caucus, thought it was a bad idea to oppose certification. When another congressman asked McCarthy how the leadership saw the vote, he responded sharply, “You want me to give you your voting card?”
On January 3rd, McCarthy made his position clear—and went a step further. According to “Unchecked,” by Rachael Bade and Karoun Demirjian, he allowed staffers for Jim Jordan—a former nemesis from the Freedom Caucus, a rabid Trumpist, and a vociferous election denier—to set up a special area next to the House floor to recruit votes against certification. When House moderates and some of McCarthy’s own staff objected, the journalists write, he “dismissed their concerns out of hand.” (McCarthy’s office denies this.)

The U.S. House of Representatives started a two-week recess on Friday, but not before a series of events that provoked fresh declarations of what has become a familiar phrase over the past few years: "Republicans in disarray."
Before leaving Capitol Hill, House members passed a spending package intended to prevent a partial government shutdown that could still occur unless the Senate acts. Fewer than two dozen Democrats and over 100 Republicans opposed the bill. Democratic opposition was largely related to Israel's war on the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, far-right Republicans like Texas Congressman Chip Roy have made comments like, "Everyone that I know and trust about the border, about overall spending, see it as a complete and total failure and a capitulation by Republicans. And leadership worked the deal, so it's on leadership."
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) not only opposed the package but also filed a motion to vacate, hoping to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.)—which would only require a simple majority if it came up for a vote.

US Congressman Chip Roy proposes to rename Texas to Ukraine
A member of the House of Representatives has condemned the Senate after it passed a bill to give $95 billion to Ukraine and Israel without border security provisions.
According to Chip Roy, the bill is an “abomination” and the 22 Republican senators who voted for it “should be ashamed.” He said:
I think I might submit a bill pretty soon to rename Texas to Ukraine. Then maybe this administration and senators will work on securing the border of the United States

Congressman Chip Roy previously aligned with the George P Bush clan and called for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to resign , thereby showcasing his ideological alignment with the professional republican apparatus who constructed a completely fabricated political hit against Paxton. As a consequence, it does not come as a surprise to see Representative Roy align with the professional…
