Did you ever play Valkyria Chronicles 4? It was a stunning return to form after every other sequel to Valkyria Chronicles lost the plot, tremendous recommendation, and it’s typically goes on sale as much as the original. Also the game’s primary Valkyria antagonist Crymaria is Raita’s Most Designed Character Ever.

I did, and while Crymaria and Riley are definitely what I would describe as Raita forgetting to hold back and killing my loins with a single wicked strike, the Superbowl victory goes to Minerva "I literally just don't fucking like you" Victor.

She is not tsundere. She is not playing hard to get. She literally just does not fucking like you.

and the game sticks to that. Minerva does NOT like Claude! Straight up honest to god wishes to not be in the same room! And there's a reason for it, but it's not a huge deep backstory reason, she really just does not like this guy, period, end of it.

And boy howdy is she a ball of hatred and drive, but, BUT, she also has a head with a brain. This is important because the lack of the latter could've resulted in a very different ending to the game.

But yeah I appreciate a character who just straight up does not fucking vibe with your PoV character, also redheads are Yes.

Did you see the Camilla Clone in VC4, if so what are your thoughts?

Crymaria is the video game equivalent of parents giving the child a new pet immediately after the old one (Selvaria) just died. And wondering why we don’t love the new pet and want the old one back even though it supposedly is “just like the first one.”

Except in this case, the “parents” are the ones who killed the first pet and are trying to make up for their massive fuck up.

Valkyria Chronicles 4

The quality of these screenshots is surprisingly low, even for the Switch.  I think it might be because the level of detail in the game graphics just didn’t capture well.  That being said, I still have several posts’ worth that I want to share.  This was my first VC game, so I had no idea what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by the story and gameplay.  I wish we’d gotten a little more with the side characters though.  The one here (Odin) was one of my faves.

Thinking of replaying Valkyria Chronicles 4, which has the Valkyria that channels ice and blizzards. Esdeath as a Valkyria for the Empire, the imperials, would be intimidating. Gallia would really be in for a war. & We all know Es loves bloodshed. And bonus that would support this:
