It wasn’t that cold when you and Dallas left your shared apartment for the evening. After nagging and bothering you for what felt like hours Dallas had finally won, he was getting you to go to the annual start of summer bonfire. A tried-and-true greaser tradition. It wasn’t really your scene, most of the time. But at the mention that Darrel Curtis was going to be there you’d changed your tune rather quickly. Dallas knew of your little crush on the eldest Curtis brother. Because of course he did. He wasn’t dumb. Quite the opposite really. He caught your longing glances for Darry pretty early on. Your cute crush only got slightly concerning for Dally when he started noticing Darry throwing the same looks your way.
Dallas might’ve used Darry as the excuse to get you out of the house. See, Dallas had never taken school seriously, but you always have. He was worried you were spending far too much of your limited time studying or doing homework instead of being an actual teenager.
As you and Dallas strolled through the dimly lit streets toward the outskirts of town where the bonfire was blazing, you couldn't shake the feeling of nervous excitement that ripped through your body. Dallas, your favorite charismatic troublemaker, seemed to sense your nerves and threw an arm around your shoulder, giving you a rough but reassuring squeeze.
"So, kid sister, what's got you all wound up tonight, huh?" Dallas smirked. His eyes gleaming mischievously in the faint glow of the streetlights.
You shrugged, trying to play it cool. "Nothing, just looking forward to hanging out with the guys, I guess. Haven’t seen them in a while is all."
Dallas shot you a knowing look, his eyebrows raised in amusement. "Uh-huh, the guys sure thing. Are you sure it’s not one guy? Don't think I haven't noticed those puppy-dog eyes you've been throwing at Darry lately." He had a habit of calling you out on your bullshit, even if it made you uncomfortable.
Your cheeks flushed at that comment. You stuttered in protest, but Dallas just laughed, his voice rumbling with amusement. "Relax, kid, ain't no crime in having a crush. But who knows, maybe tonight's the night you finally make a move." He winked knowing that was a load of crap. You’d never make a move on Darry, wouldn’t even dream of it. In his eyes you were Dallas’ baby sister. He could never see you like that.
You rolled your eyes, though you couldn't deny the flutter of excitement that bubbled in your chest at the mere thought of it. Darrel Curtis was everything you found attractive in a man - strong, dependable, and with a heart of gold hidden beneath his tough exterior. The idea that he might feel even a fraction of what you felt for him sent your pulse racing. But you knew better, knew better than to get your hopes up.
The two of you approached the bonfire, the familiar sight of your friends greeted you. The air was thick with the smell of smoke and the sound of laughter, with the occasional burst of music from someone's battered radio. It felt like home. You and Dallas had finally found it after years of moving and running.
Dallas led you through the throngs of people, his boisterous laughter mingling with the chatter of the others. Until you finally caught sight of Darry standing by himself next to the fire. His gaze was fixed on you with an intensity that made your heart skip a few beats. You swallowed hard, suddenly feeling acutely aware of every movement, every breath. Dallas nudged you playfully with his elbow, a knowing smirk playing on his lips as he gave you a not-so-subtle wink before sauntering off to join the other greasers.
Taking a deep breath to steady your nerves, you squared your shoulders and made your way over to where Darry stood, his eyes never leaving yours. And as you drew closer, the crackle of the fire seemed to fade away, leaving only the pounding of your heart echoing in your ears, “Hi.” You smiled up at him once you got within ear shot.
He smiled right back at you. His annoyed face melted away once you got close. “Didn’t think we’d see you tonight. What a treat.” He smirked loving the little game the two of you shared when it was just the two of you. He wasn’t sure when it happened, but he had developed a not so innocent crush on you. Dallas Winston’s little sister. Probably the worst girl to have a crush on. But how could he not? You stepped up and helped him in ways he could’ve never imagined after his parents passed. You pulled Pony and Soda along right with you instead of letting them drown in grief. You were an angel. His angel.
Despite the lively atmosphere, you couldn’t shake off the chill that seeped into your bones. You cursed yourself for forgetting your jacket, but with the comforting heat of the fire so close, you hadn't noticed the cold until now. Darry glanced down at you once you were standing next to him, sensing your discomfort. "Are ya’ cold, Y/N?"
You nodded, teeth chattering slightly. "Yeah, just a bit."
Without a word, Darry shrugged off the leather jacket he had on. "Here," he said, draping it over your shoulders. "You shouldn't be freezing out here." While it fit him it was about three sizes too large for you. Not that you minded.
You blinked in surprise as Darry's jacket enveloped you, radiating warmth and carrying his distinct scent. Grateful, you offered him a small smile. "Thanks, Darry."
He nodded, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Anytime, Y/N. Don't want you catching a cold."
As the night wore on, you huddled closer to the fire, Darry's jacket shielding you from the biting cold. Despite the flames eventually dying down and the group dispersing, the memory of Darry's protective gesture lingered, a comforting presence in the darkness of the night.
In the dim light, you caught Darry's eye and offered him a silent expression of gratitude. He returned it with a nod, silently promising to always look out for you. Feeling a warmth not just from the jacket but also from his concern, you find yourself drawn to him. "Thanks again, Darry. Dallas rushed me out of the apartment. You know I’m not usually so forgetful." you say softly, your voice carrying a hint of flirtation you can't quite suppress.
Darry's lips quirk up in a half-smile, his eyes holding a glint of amusement. "No problem, Y/N," he replies, his voice low and gravelly. "I’m sure it’s not easy being Dally’s sister."
You chuckle at his teasing tone, enjoying the banter that flowed so effortless between the two of you. "You could say that again. Guess I owe you one though," you say playfully, nudging him with your elbow.
Darry's smile widens, and he leans in a little closer, the warmth of his presence sending a shiver down your spine for an entirely different reason. "Oh, I'll be sure to collect on that debt," he murmurs, his gaze intense yet tender.
Your heart nearly stops at his words, and you find yourself blushing despite the chill in the air. Maybe forgetting your jacket wasn't such a bad thing after all.
Just as you're about to respond to Darry's playful banter, a familiar voice interrupted you from behind. "Well, well, what do we have here? Little sis all blushy-cheeked and heart eyes on our very own Darrel Curtis?" Dallas's voice carries a teasing edge, his smirk evident even in the dim light. He knew how much you not so secretly liked the oldest Curtis brother. You may not have said anything to him, but it was evident in the way you looked at him. Dallas knew eyes couldn’t hide much. That’s how he also knew the oldest Curtis brother felt the same about you. So, he did what any older brother would do, tease the shit out of the both of you.
You turn to see Dallas walking over, his usual cocky demeanor in full force. But something about the way he looks at you, a mixture of amusement and something else you can't quite place, makes you more nervous than ever. Darry stiffens slightly beside you, his protective instincts kicking into overdrive. His jaw clenches, and you notice a subtle tension in his shoulders.
"Easy there, Darry," Dallas continues, his grin widening. "I'm just messing with my kid sister. No need to get all uptight Curtis." He had a full-on grin now not realizing the damage he was causing between the blooming relationship that had yet to begin.
You shoot Dallas a playful glare, hoping to diffuse the situation. "Ignore him, Darry. He's just being annoying, as usual." You turned back to the man standing beside you, closer than you remember from just moments ago.
But Darry's gaze remains fixed on Dallas, a silent warning in his eyes. "Nothing’s happened Dallas.” The joyful tone in his voice from moments ago had vanished sending you into a minor panic as the two most important men in your life stood there staring at each other.
Dallas raises his hands in mock surrender, his smirk faltering ever so slightly. "Alright, alright, no need to get all serious," he says, taking a step back. "I'll leave you two alone. Doing whatever you were doing.”
As Dallas walks away, you feel a pang of disappointment wash over you knowing that something was suddenly amiss. You glance at Darry, hoping to see his usual warmth and playfulness, but instead, you find him distant, his gaze fixed on the ground. He was thinking and thinking hard at that.
"Hey, everything okay?" you ask, reaching out to touch his arm.
When he pulled away from you sharply you tried to hide the disappointment evident in your gaze on him. Darry looks up, his expression guarded. "I’m sorry. I just... I can't do this. Not with Dallas being your brother," he murmurs, his voice barely above a whisper.
Your heart sank as Darry's words hit you like a punch to the gut. You had hoped that maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for something more between the two of you. But now, faced with his rejection, you felt a wave of embarrassment and hurt wash over you. You tried to hide the sting of tears threatening to spill from your eyes, forcing a weak smile as you withdrew his jacket from your shoulders. "I understand," you replied softly, trying to keep your voice steady despite the ache in your chest. "It's okay, Darry. I-I didn't mean to make things awkward." You handed him the too big leather jacket back. You didn’t miss the disappointed look in his eyes as he took it back from you.
But before Darry could respond, you turned on your heel and began to walk away, the weight of his rejection heavy on your shoulders. You could feel the eyes of the other greasers on you as you made your way through the crowd, their whispers echoing in your ears like a cruel reminder of your own vulnerability.  You were halfway down the street when you felt a hand on your shoulder, stopping you in your tracks. Startled, you turned to find Dallas standing there, his expression unusually serious. "Y/N, wait," he said, his voice soft yet urgent. "What happened back there?"
You tried to brush off his concern, plastering on a fake smile. "It's nothing, Dallas. Just a misunderstanding, that's all."
But Dallas wasn't buying it, his gaze piercing through your facade. "Bullshit," he said bluntly. "I saw the way Darry was looking at you. And I saw the way you looked at him." He grabbed your arm, stopping you in your tracks.
You felt the tears welling up in your eyes once again, unable to hold them back any longer. The floodgates opened, and all the pent-up emotions came pouring out, overwhelming you with their intensity. Dallas's grip on your arm softened, his expression shifting from skepticism to concern as he watched the tears stream down your cheeks.
"Y/N, what's wrong?" he asked gently, his voice laced with worry. “What happened?"
You took a shaky breath, trying to compose yourself enough to speak. "It's Darry," you confessed, your voice trembling with emotion. "He doesn’t want me because... because he's worried about what you'll think or something."
Dallas's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, his grip on your arm tightening ever so slightly. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.
You swallowed hard, mustering the courage to explain. "I don’t know. It was fine then it wasn’t," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "You were teasing us, and he... he thinks you don't approve. I don’t know Dallas he didn’t give me a reason. Just said he couldn’t do it."
Dallas's eyes widened in realization, a mixture of guilt and frustration flashing across his features. "Shit," he muttered under his breath, running a hand through his hair in agitation. "I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I was just messing around, you know?"
You nodded, feeling a pang of sympathy for Dallas's distress. "I know, Dallas," you said softly, reaching out to touch his arm. "But sometimes things don't turn out the way we expect them to."
Dallas's shoulders sagged as he let out a heavy sigh, his usual cocky demeanor replaced by an air of vulnerability. "I'm sorry, Y/N," he said sincerely, his voice thick with remorse. "I never meant to hurt you or Darry. You know that, right?"
You nodded, feeling a lump form in your throat as you fought to hold back the tears threatening to keep spilling from your eyes. "I know, Dal," you whispered, your voice choked with emotion.
Without hesitation, Dallas pulled you into a comforting brotherly hug, wrapping his arms around you and holding you close. You felt a sense of warmth and security wash over you, knowing that no matter what happened, you had Dallas by your side, always ready to support you through thick and thin.As you leaned into his embrace, Dallas's protective instincts kicked in, his mind buzzing with thoughts of how to fix the situation. But before he could voice his intentions, you pulled away slightly, a pleading look in your eyes.
"Dallas, please," you said softly, your voice tinged with embarrassment. "Don't do anything rash. I don't want things to get any more complicated than they already are."
Dallas's expression softened as he registered your plea, his gaze filled with concern. "I just can't stand the thought of Darry hurting you like this," he admitted, his voice laced with frustration. "He's being so damn thick-headed, and it makes me want to sock him one right in the jaw."
You shook your head, a firmness in your voice. "No, Dallas, no fighting with your brothers," you insisted, your tone leaving no room for argument. "We'll figure this out without anyone throwing punches. Let's just leave it be for now, okay? I don't want anything to happen when everyone is emotional."
Dallas hesitated, his jaw tense with the effort of restraining himself. But as he looked into your eyes, seeing the conviction in them, he relented. "Alright, Y/N," he conceded, his voice quieter now, but still edged with frustration. "We'll do it your way. But I swear, if he keeps hurting you, I won't be able to hold back."
You gave him a grateful smile, appreciating his loyalty but relieved that he agreed to your terms. "Thank you, Dallas," you said, reaching out to squeeze his hand. "For respecting my wishes."
Dallas nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Always, kid," he replied, his voice softening with affection. "Now, let's go inside and take a breather. We'll figure out our next move when we're all thinking straight."
As you followed Dallas into the apartment, a sense of relief washed over you, grateful for his support and understanding. Exhaustion weighed heavily on your shoulders, and you couldn't fight the urge to collapse onto the couch, the events of the evening catching up with you all at once.
Dallas lingered nearby for a moment, watching over you with a protective gaze. He hesitated, torn between staying by your side and his burning desire to confront Darry. Eventually, with a heavy sigh, he made his decision.
Quietly, Dallas slipped out of the apartment once you were fast asleep on the couch, leaving you to rest, and made his way towards the Curtis house. Determination fueled his steps as he navigated the dimly lit streets, his mind focused on one goal: to talk some sense into Darry.
When he finally reached the Curtis house, he didn't bother with niceties. Instead, he pounded on the door with a forceful urgency, his knuckles rapping against the wood in a demanding rhythm. Soda was the one to answer the door, his expression shifting from surprise to concern as he took in Dallas's agitated demeanor. "Dallas? What's going on, man?"
But Dallas didn't waste any time with explanations. Without a word, he brushed past Soda, his eyes scanning the living room in search of Darry. He didn't care about being polite or waiting for an invitation. All he cared about was finding the one who made his sister cry. Soda called after him, his voice tinged with confusion and concern, but Dallas paid him no mind. His focus was singular, his determination unwavering as he sought out Darry, ready to have a long-overdue conversation that would hopefully set things right.
Dallas's footsteps echoed loudly as he made his way towards the backyard, his heart pounding with a mixture of anger and concern. He found Darry leaning against the wall, a cigarette dangling from his lips, while Ponyboy sat nearby, a troubled expression on his face. Without preamble, Dallas stormed over to Darry, his eyes blazing with intensity. "What the hell is wrong with you, Darry?" he demanded, his voice thick with emotion. "You made my sister cry, and for what? Because you're too damn stubborn to see what's right in front of you?"
Darry looked up, startled by Dallas's sudden outburst. "Dallas, what are you talking about?" he asked, confusion evident in his tone.
Ponyboy, sensing the tension in the air, glanced nervously between his older brother and what felt like his second one. "Guys, what's going on?" he asked tentatively, his brow furrowing with concern.
"What's going on is that Darry's being a complete idiot," Dallas snapped, his frustration boiling over. "He's too blind to see that Y/N cares about him, and he's pushing her away because of it."
Darry's expression softened, his defenses crumbling under Dallas's relentless barrage. "Dallas, it's not that simple," he protested weakly, but Dallas wasn't having any of it.
"Not that simple?" Dallas echoed incredulously, his voice rising with every word. "You think you're doing her a favor by pushing her away? You're just hurting her, Darry. And you're too damn stubborn to see it."
Ponyboy watched the exchange in silence, his eyes darting between the two brothers with a mixture of concern and apprehension. He knew better than to intervene when Dallas was in one of his moods. Finally, Darry let out a heavy sigh, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "I didn't mean to hurt her, Dallas," he admitted quietly, his voice tinged with regret. "I just... I don't know how to do this. I'm not good at this stuff."
Soda, who had been observing from the doorway, stepped forward with a smirk playing on his lips. "You got that right, Darry," he interjected, his tone teasing. "You're allergic to pretty girls."
Ponyboy couldn't help but chuckle at Soda's remark, a small smile breaking through the tension that hung in the air. Darry sighed, shaking his head at Soda's comment, but there was a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Thanks for the reminder, Soda," he said wryly, his voice tinged with self-deprecation. "But I guess I'll just have to figure it out."
Dallas leaned back against the wall, his arms crossed over his chest, a smirk playing on his lips as he listened to Ponyboy's words. "Yeah, she's got a heart of literal gold, man," he chimed in, nodding in agreement. "I've seen it. She's too kind for this world sometimes."
Ponyboy nodded fervently, his eyes reflecting admiration. "Absolutely. Remember that time when she stood up for Johnny when those guys were picking on him? She didn't even hesitate. Just marched right over there and gave them a piece of her mind."
Soda grinned, his eyes sparkling with fondness. "And she's always nice to everyone, even those stuck-up Socs who don't deserve it," he added, his voice full of admiration.
Darry sighed, running a hand through his hair. He couldn't help but smile at his brothers' words, despite himself. "Yeah, she's something else, that's for sure," he mused, a hint of pride creeping into his tone. "But sometimes, I worry she's too good for her own good."
The room fell into a thoughtful silence for a moment before Soda broke it with a chuckle. "Well, Darry, you might just have to deal with it," he teased, nudging his brother playfully. "After all, love's got its own way of figuring things out."
Darry rolled his eyes but couldn't suppress the small smile that tugged at his lips. "Yeah, you're right Soda," he conceded, his gaze drifting off into the distance as he thought about you. "I just hope I can keep up."
The brothers shared a knowing look, a silent understanding passing between them as they contemplated the impact you had made on their lives. Dallas leaned forward, his expression turning serious. "You know, Darry, you gotta give yourself some credit too," he said, his voice carrying a rare sincerity. "She sees something in you, man. She wouldn't stick around if she didn't believe in you."
Darry shifted uncomfortably, his gaze dropping to the floor. "I know, Dallas, but... I've messed up so many times," he admitted, his voice tinged with regret. "I've let her down more times than I can count."
Ponyboy reached out, placing a reassuring hand on Darry's shoulder. "Hey, we all make mistakes," he said softly, his eyes filled with empathy. "But what matters is how you learn from them."
Soda nodded in agreement, his expression serious. "You gotta show her, Darry," he chimed in, his voice firm. "You gotta show her that you're willing to do whatever it takes to make things right."
Darry sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair. "I know, I know," he muttered, his voice heavy with guilt. "I just... I don't know if I'm capable of being the person she deserves."
Dallas shook his head, his eyes locking with Darry's. "You are, man," he insisted, his tone unwavering. "But you gotta start believing it yourself. You gotta start believing that you're worthy of her love."
The room fell into a contemplative silence as Darry let Dallas' words sink in. And as he sat there, surrounded by his brothers, he couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope stirring deep within him. Maybe, just maybe, he could find a way to make things right with you. Maybe there was still a chance for them after all.
Dallas let out a gruff laugh, a hint of his usual tough demeanor creeping back into his expression. "Alright, enough of this mushy crap," he declared, straightening up and running a hand through his hair. "I swear to God, if this gets back to her or you say some soft shit, I'll kick all your asses."
Ponyboy chuckled nervously, shooting a glance at Soda and Darry. "Got it, Dallas," he replied, trying to suppress a grin.
Soda raised his hands in mock surrender. "Hey, no worries, man," he said with a smirk. "Our lips are sealed."
Darry nodded in agreement, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Thanks, Dallas," he said sincerely, his eyes reflecting gratitude.
Dallas gave them all a nod before pushing himself off the wall. "Alright, I’m out out of here before I start feeling like I need to hug it out or something," he quipped, striding towards the door with his usual gate. He hoped you had stayed sleeping on the couch as he made his way back to your shared apartment.

The next day, Darry found himself restless, pacing back and forth in his room as he wrestled with his overwhelming sense of guilt. Every step he took felt heavy, burdened by the weight of regret that had settled like a stone in his chest. He knew he had hurt you deeply, and the thought churned his stomach with unease. Despite his usual stoic demeanor, Darry couldn't shake off the nervous fluttering in his chest as he clutched the bouquet of flowers tightly in his hand.
Darry found himself seized by a sudden determination to make things right with you. He knew that a simple apology wouldn't be enough – he needed to show her just how much she meant to him. And that's when he remembered the little details about her that he cherished.
With a sense of purpose driving him forward, Darry made his way to a nearby flower shop. The bustling streets seemed to blur around him as he searched for the perfect bouquet, his mind focused solely on one thing: your beautiful smile that brightened his day. He rifled through the colorful array of blooms, his heart racing with anticipation as he sought out the flowers that would convey his heartfelt apology and adoration.
And then, amidst the vibrant sea of petals, he found them – sunflowers. They stood tall and proud, their golden faces turned towards the sun, just like Y/N's radiant spirit. Darry's heart swelled with certainty as he reached out to carefully select the most beautiful blooms, knowing that they would bring a ray of sunshine to your day.
But as he stood at the checkout counter, a sudden doubt crept into his mind. How did he know that sunflowers were her favorite? Had she ever mentioned it to him before, in passing? Or was it just a gut feeling, a subconscious knowledge born from the countless hours they had spent together? For a moment, Darry hesitated, his brow furrowing in uncertainty. But then he remembered the way your eyes had lit up the last time you had passed a house that was growing them, how you had exclaimed with delight at the sight. And in that moment, he knew – sunflowers were your favorite, and he was determined to make sure you knew just how much you meant to him.
As he made his way to your apartment, each footfall echoed with the rhythm of his racing heart. The short journey felt like an eternity, his mind filled with worry and doubt. What if you were still upset with him? What if you didn't want to see him? The uncertainty gnawed at him, threatening to consume him with fear. He couldn't bear the thought of facing your disappointment, knowing that he was the cause of your pain.
With trembling hands, Darry finally reached your doorstep. He took a moment to steady his nerves, drawing in a deep breath to calm the storm of emotions raging inside him. But no amount of preparation could ease the knot of anxiety tightening in his chest as he raised his hand to knock on the door. Each rap of his knuckles felt like a thunderclap, reverberating through the silence of the neighborhood, and echoing the tumultuous turmoil in his own heart.
For a fleeting moment, Darry hesitated, his hand hovering uncertainly in the air. He couldn't help but worry that you would be furious with him, that you would turn him away without a second thought. The thought made his pulse quicken with apprehension, his palms growing slick with sweat as he grappled with his fear of rejection. But deep down, he knew he couldn't let his fear hold him back. He had to face you, to confront the consequences of his actions and make amends for the pain he had caused. With a silent prayer on his lips, Darry squared his shoulders and knocked once more, steeling himself for whatever lay ahead.
As the door swung open, revealing your surprised expression, Darry felt his heart almost stop. He could see the shock flicker across your features as you took in the sight of him standing there, a bouquet of sunflowers clutched tightly in his hand. But then, to his relief, your expression softened, your eyes lighting up with warmth and affection.
"Darry?" Your voice was soft, filled with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. "What are you doing here?"
Darry swallowed hard. His throat suddenly dry. He extended the bouquet towards her, his hand trembling ever so slightly. "For you," he managed to choke out, his voice barely above a whisper.
A smile spread across your face, brightening his mood with its warmth. "These are my favorite! How did you know?" you exclaimed, your eyes sparkling with delight as you reached out to accept the flowers. You pushed the door open letting him in as your searched for a vase for your sunflowers.
Darry felt a weightlifting off his shoulders at your reaction, a sense of relief flooding through him. Maybe he hadn't completely messed things up after all. "Just a lucky guess," he replied with a shy grin, though deep down, he knew it was more than just luck. He had been paying attention, learning the little things that made you happy, and he was determined to make it up to her.
Darry watched as your smile grew wider, and he couldn't help but feel a rush of happiness seeing you so pleased with the flowers. "I'm glad you like them," he said, his voice soft with sincerity.
You wrapped your arms around him in a spontaneous hug, and Darry felt his heart swell with warmth at the gesture. "Thank you, Darry," you whispered, your voice filled with genuine gratitude.
The embrace felt like a balm to Darry's soul, soothing the lingering doubts and fears that had plagued him since last night. But as he held you close, he knew there was still something he needed to address, something he couldn't ignore any longer.
"I need to apologize, Y/N," Darry began, his voice tinged with regret. "I was a jerk last night at the bonfire. I shouldn't have dismissed you like that."
You pulled back slightly, looking up at him with a furrowed brow. "Darry, it's okay," you reassured him, though there was a hint of hurt in your eyes.
But Darry shook his head, his gaze earnest. "No, it's not okay," he insisted, his voice firm. "You deserved better than that, and I'm sorry for treating you like you didn't matter."
Your expression softened as you listened to Darry's heartfelt apology, and a sense of understanding washed over you. "I forgive you, Darry," you replied, reaching out to gently caress his cheek. "I know you didn't mean to hurt me."
Darry felt a wave of relief wash over him at your forgiveness, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to make it up to you somehow, to show you just how much you meant to him. As he looked into your eyes, he could see the depth of your care and affection reflected back at him, and it filled him with a sense of gratitude. He realized in that moment just how lucky he was to have you in his life.
A mischievous glint sparked in Darry's eyes as he felt a surge of confidence coursing through him. "You know, since we're both feeling so forgiving and all," he began, a playful smirk tugging at the corners of his lips, "how about I make it up to you by taking you on a proper date?"
Your eyes widened in surprise at his suggestion, a smile spreading across your face. "A date?" you echoed, a hint of excitement in your voice.
Darry nodded, his grin widening. "Yeah, a date," he confirmed, his tone filled with determination. "How about we go to that fancy restaurant downtown? The one with the candlelit tables and that amazing carbonara dish you love. I know it's your favorite."
A delighted laugh bubbled up from your lips at his suggestion, and Darry felt a surge of pride knowing that he had guessed right. "You remembered," you said, your voice filled with warmth.
Darry shrugged nonchalantly, though his heart swelled with satisfaction at your reaction. "Of course, I remembered," he replied with a wink, his flirtatious side coming out to play. "I pay attention to the important stuff. You're the important stuff."
And as you laughed and agreed to the date, Darry couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building within him. Maybe this was the start of something new, something wonderful – a chance to show you just how much you meant to him, and to make up for his past mistakes with little moments like these.

~ “You dont ever think” he cuts in with a tired sigh, attempting to not raise his voice. “Darry, you gotta be fucking kidding me, I think more than anybody in this house there is no way your saying that to me”. “I am and I mean it, you need to be more careful and stop worrying–” you interrupt him quickly stepping closer to him and sticking as finger up. “Darrel Curtis don’t you raise your voice at me like im one of your siblings”. Darry groans loudly throwing his hands up obviously not letting this silly argument go easily. “I just wish you would—” you lift your shirt up flashing Darry silencing him immediately. Darry walks over to you his calloused hands sitting on your waist, “Darling this conversation isn’t over even when you try and distract me” he looks at you smugly with his eyebrows raised. You reply with the same smugness bringing a hand to the back of his neck to pull him inevitability closer, “worth a shot though”.
~ definitely doesn't let arguments go easily , but he definitely loves that mini distraction and some stress relief (ifykyk).
Steve Randle (Goofy ass mf)
“Steve I don’t know why this is a big deal to you honey” you say in a calm and settle voice trying to calm him down. To your dismay he is still not happy about the situation at all, “No you can’t just throw stuff out like that, what if I still wanted it? Then what?”. You rub your hands down your face unamused by his ridiculous behavior, “Steve that shit has been sitting out for days now, I would’nt of let you eat it anyways”. Steve starts pacing back and forth in the kitchen thinking of something to say to “win”, then a new idea comes to mind which will end this banter once and for all. “Are you still mad Steve?”, he turns around abruptly “of course im still mad—”. Your shirt is lifted up giving Steve a good view for a few more seconds before you drop the fabric down, “how about now?”. Steves lips are parted still looking in the same direction where your breasts were once on full display, he glances up, “what you say baby?”. “Come here Steve”, Steve walks over his hands grabbing your face about to kiss your lips, “I’ll make you more ok?”. Steve pecks your lips a few times before replying, “Ok baby”.
~ he will probably purposely start arguments so you can flash him more often, obviously you'll catch on and ignore his attempts.
Dallas Winston (mama im in love with a criminal)
Dally pulled you into his room at Buck’s obviously pissed over a encounter downstairs. “Why the fuck didn’t you call me over, I could’ve easily handled that fucker” he says holding onto your wrist you guys nearly face to face. You pull back from him forcing him to release the grip he had on you, “He was just having  a conversation with me Dallas. Whats your problem?”. Dally runs his fingers through his hair while backing up instinctively, “ That motherfucker was practically undressing you with his eyes. Let me see him even glance at you again I swear y/n”. Dally turns around and slams his hands on his dresser with his head down. Your fed up, Dally is fed up why not end this right now, you walk up behind him and tap his shoulder. “What?” he says still not looking at you, quickly you throw off your shirt as well as your bra, “Dally can you look at me baby?”. Dally sighs but complies none-the-less, a smirk graces his face beautifully as his hands make contact with your chest. “Trying to cheer me up doll?” you kiss him deeply making Dally stumble back a little. “Im always yours Dally not some random guy”.
~ poor thing is always so jealous and protective over his girl.
Sodapop Curtis ( I want to be that towel)
You canceled plans on Soda, work asked you to stay late, the more hours the better especially because some of that money is going toward Sodas family. You walk into the empty Curtis house where only the shower is running, Sodas clothes are laid on the couch. You sigh and drop your bag down, taking off your shoes and getting into comfier clothes. The water stops running, you walk over to the door and knock on it softly, “Soda? Can I talk to you honey?”. The bathroom door opens showcasing Soda with just a towel wrapped around his waist, “Sure hopefully you wont cancel our conversation next”. He walks past you and into his room rifling through his drawers for socks and a pair of boxers, you tread behind him leaning on the door frame. “I took the extra hours so I could help you and your family” Soda groans because he knows he shouldnt be upset over it. “I know but I can still be disappointed, we havent been able to be alone for weeks now”. You smile lifting your shirt over your head about to ask him to turn around, “Come on Soda can you at least look at me?” you say walking up closer to him. Soda turns around sighing, his eyes widens and he stutters over his words a little at the surprise, “Baby, you look..gorgeous”. Soda hold you by the sides and smiles, “Wanna spend some alone time with me y/n?”.
~Sodapop definitely values quality time

You watched the boys goof around with a smile on your face, as you brought out the burgers and fries. Setting the platter of food down, you chuckled as they acted like a pack of wolves, grabbing the food quickly.
"Thanks for keeping the diner open late for us Y/n." Pony said with a smile at you.
"It's no problem Pony, I always like seeing you guys."
"And you prefer when we come in when the diner is empty so we don't scare off the other customers." Two-Bit said with a laugh.
You rolled your eyes a bit. "I never said that."
"But your dad did." Soda added.
"Yes, he did. And you're lucky I was able to convince him to allow you guys in at all."
"Lucky, and very thankful." Darry broke in as he smiled up at you.
You felt your breath hitch as he did, and smiled in return, unable to speak. "Holler if you want anything else." You said quickly to the group before turning and waking off, cursing your sudden shyness that always came when Darry was around.
The boys smirked to themselves and each other, having always noticed the change in demeanor. Soda nudged his elbow into Darry's side, giving him an amused look. Darry reached over, ruffling his hair and pushing his head down. His eyes followed you as you disappeared in the back, his own heart beating rapidly.

"Bye Y/n!" A cacophony of voices called out as the boys all began to leave the diner.
You waved at them with a smile. "Make sure you pay for the drive-in this time!"
"Never!" Two-Bit yelled back, making you laugh.
Looking over at the tabled the boys had occupied, you let out a huff of breath. 'I love those boys, but jeez are they messy' You thought to yourself as you walked over to the tables, bringing a small trashcan with you. Pieces of burger and fries littering the trays and table. The chairs were moved around, one knocked over after Steve and Two-Bit got into a playful wrestling match.
As Darry began to head out of the diner, he looked back at you, and noticed for the first time, just how much of a mess they made. He felt his gut clench.
Looking back at the others, calling out "I'll meet you guys later!"
What came in return was a mix of teasing comments and whistles, he shook his head with a roll of his eyes before walking back into the diner.
As you crouched down to pick up some napkins from the floor, you jolted as a hand appeared beside you, picking up trash from the table.
Looking up, your eyes met Darry's familiar eyes. "Oh, Darry, did you forget something?" You said as you stood up.
"No, I just thought I'd help clean up."
"Oh, that's kind of you, but you don't have too, really."
He smiled widely at you. "It's the least I can do after you stay behind late just feed us. Plus look at this mess, I really gotta teach those punks some manners."
You smiled as you watched him take the trash can and started dumping stuff in it. "Aren't you gonna miss the movie?"
He shook his head softly, "It's alright, I've seen it." He looked up at you, seeing you quickly picking up the chairs, avoiding his gaze. He smiled to himself as he fixed the other chairs.
Turning to him you smiled softly. "Thanks again. I'm just gonna go get a couple rags to wipe the tables down." Turning, you walked back towards the kitchen, away that Darrel watched you go. You felt heat crawl up your neck and ears.
Darrel turned, looking around the rest o the diner, his eyes stopping on the nearby jukebox. Walking over, he started to look through the songs. Hearing you walk back in, he looked over his shoulder at you, watching as you quickly began to wipe down the tables and stack the chairs.
As you did so, you tried to distract yourself from the thought of being alone with Darrel. You started to hum to yourself, not thinking it was loud enough for him to hear, but loud enough to divert your own thoughts.
Darrel smiled as the tune you hummed met his ears. He recognized the song, and noted how sweet the tune sounded coming from you. Looking back at the jukebox, he began to flip through the songs, before he stopped on one. Looking back once more at you, he smiled to himself before he put in his change and selected the song.
As music started playing across the diner, you paused in your actions. Looking over at the jukebox, you saw Darrel turn back towards you, a smile on his face. It was the song you had been humming, making you aware he could hear you. You felt your face grow hot as Darrel walked over to you
Put your head on my shoulder Hold me in your arms, baby Squeeze me oh-so-tight Show me that you love me too
As Darrel stopped in front of you, he smiled and reached out his hand. You stood up straight, and stared at in in silence before meeting his eyes, a questioning gaze on your face.
He grinned at you. "Dance with me."
You looked at his hand again, and your heart was beating rapidly. Meeting his gaze he let out a soft chuckle. "Come on."
Put your lips next to mine, dear Won't you kiss me once, baby? Just a kiss goodnight, maybe You and I will fall in love (you and I will fall in love)
Reaching out, your hand hesitated for a moment before you set your hand on top of his. Wrapping his hand around yous, he smiled softly at you before he led you into the open floor space.
You could feel your heartbeat pulsating in your ears as it pounded heavily. Your breath hitched as he pulled you closer to him, and lightly set his hand on your waist as you began to sway to the music.
People say that love's a game A game you just can't win If there's a way I'll find it someday And then this fool will rush in
A small smile sat on his face as he looked down at you, "I want to thank you again Y/n, for being so nice to my brothers and the other Greasers."
You smiled in return, shaking your head a bit. "They're nice to me, why wouldn't I be nice in return? Besides, I never let anyone else's opinions on people effect my own."
"It's rare to find someone like you Y/n, I really hope you don't let anyone's opinion about how you treat us effect that."
You shook your head. "I don't."
Put your head on my shoulder Whisper in my ear, baby Words I want to hear, tell me Tell me that you love me too (tell me that you love me too)
His smile widened a bit as you continued to rotate around the room. Your eyes locked, and you found yourself unable to look away, as the tension grew.
Slowly, Darrel pulled you closer, your chests touching. Your breath hitched as he gently brushed his nose against yours, all the while he kept his eyes locked with yours.
Realizing the two of you had stopped dancing, you took a breath, taking your hand out of his, watching as he slowly inched closer. He put his other hand on your waist, holding you gently. Just as his lips brushed against yours, you felt yourself pull away, as you laid your head on his shoulder, almost in shame.
Put your head on my shoulder Whisper in my ear, baby Words I want to hear, baby Put your head on my shoulder
Darrel only smiled to, before leaning down and pressing a kiss to your head. He spoke softly into your ear, "You don't have to be afraid to me."
Looking up quickly, you met his eyes and shook your head "I'm not afraid of you Darrel." You said softly, a sad tone to your voice.
"Then why wont you let me kiss you?" He asked, a soft smile playing at his lips.
You opened your mouth to speak, but hesitated. You thought for a moment before replying. You looked down, "You can do so much better than me Darrel."
He furrowed his brow after you spoke. "You're wrong." Slowly, you looked up again, meeting his eyes. He continued. "I've never met anyone like you, I could never find anyone better than you. If anyone could do better it's you."
You felt your face grow hot again, feeling bashful again, you looked back down at your feet. The diner was now silent, as the song finished. A moment passed before you felt him hook his fingers under your chin, making you look up at him.
As your eyes locked again, he brought his hand up, gently caressing your cheek. You saw his eyes flick to your lips again, and you took a breath, you would not pull away this time.
Slowly, he leaned in, and you tilted your head up to meet him. Your eyes fluttered closed as his lips gently met yours. His palm cupped your face as he deepened the kiss.
Pulling away a few moments later, breathless, your eyes fluttered open, locking with his grey ones. You smiled softly, and his smile widened. Suddenly, he stepped away, and you looked at him with mild confusion. Watching him, he went over to the jukebox, and a moment later the song began to replay.
Walking back over to you, he reached out his hand. Smiling, you took it, no hesitation this time. Pulling you close to him, you smiled at each other as you began to dance again, forgetting the time, or where you were, and even what lead up to this moment. You were lost in each other's presence, and eyes, never wanting this moment to end.
xx End xx

It has almost been a month without your fiance. Darry had been booked for every single day, and suddenly nurses had become extremely needed everyday for your hospital. You were riled up and upset that your shifts hadn't matched up with Darry's which ended up in only seeing him passing in and out of the house. You were the night shift, and Darry had been the morning shift. You took care of the gang when Darry couldn't, becoming the casual mom of the group when you were around.
As you shift the small ring around your finger, tapping against the table as the clock clicks closer to your shift ending. As soon as it hits twelve, you jump up, grabbing your bag and Darry's jacket and run out of the hospital while saying goodbye to your coworkers. The air is cold as it nips at your nose. You open your car door and turn the car on, the cold air hitting you as it attempts to start up with a rumble. The radio plays quietly as you start to feel giddy at being able to see your boyfriend after a month.
The car ride isn't long, but not very short. After twenty-five minutes of no traffic and long, twisting roads, you pull into the driveway of Darry's house. His truck is sitting next to your car, and the lights are still on the inside of the house. Grabbing your stuff, you run into the house and shut the door quietly behind you. Two-Bit and Steve are asleep on the couch, snoring as Mickey Mouse is playing on the television.
You smile at them, shutting off the television and lights. You walk to the kitchen, hang up your keys on the hook, and set your bag down. Your stomach rumbles after hours of being unable to eat due to the rush on the hospital. You pull out some food and heat it up, and bite into it and moan out. Darry’s cooking was always amazing, after years of practicing after the loss of his Mom and Dad. While you're eating, strong arms wrap around your waist and pull you into his hips.
With a gentle kiss to your neck, you smile and twist your body around to be in front of Darry. He's smiling widely, his tongue darting out to like his lips. “Oh, Darry..” You mumble out and he pushes you against the counter and his hand falls underneath your thighs as you follow his movements with your lips. Your hand runs up his shoulders and to the back of his head and you grip onto his messy, ungreased hair. He smells like aftershave and his minty shampoo and conditioner.
You're mumbling out his name every time he pulls away from your lips to let you breathe. “Not here, love. Bedroom c’mon!” You're whisper-shouting, as he picks you up off the counter and carries your bridal style to your small, shared bedroom. The bed is messy and fluffy with blankets as you try and beat the November weather that was attacking Tulsa. The television is on and plays a random show that Darry had liked, but you didn't understand it half of the time.
You crawl onto the bed and pull on the waistband of his pants and he falls on the bed on top of you, not crushing you with his thighs taking his fall. You're wrapped up in the kiss you've been waiting for, deep and full of delicious passion. His lips slide from your mouth to suck against your neck, kissing and biting gently. His name is a prayer as it falls from your lips as you slide against him, his hand tickling against your waistband.
You pull his shirt off and throw it on the floor, staring at his delicious muscles and abs that stretch and pull in every time you touch his warm skin. “Missed you so much.” Darry gasps when you pull him up and push against the wall.
When you wake up the next morning, your legs are sore and your back achy. The bed is cold and alone with Darry's side is put together and cleaned up. Your side however isn't as you get up from bed. You're in a big t-shirt of Darry's with a pair of underwear. You grab a pair of shorts and put them on. You stretch out your body and crack your hands. You fix up the bed and straighten out the sheets and fix up your hair. You put your slippers and rub your eyes. When you look at the mirror, you see all of the purplish and dusty pink bruises that litter your neck and down to your collarbone.
You grab a big hoodie and pull it on and it covers most of them up, but it would be impossible to cover all of them. You open the door to leave and you hear the boys that are somehow rowdy at eight-thirty in the morning. Two-Bit and Steve are ones that you can pick out, teasing Darry and Ponyboy about something you couldn't hear. You walk into the kitchen and you feel people's eyes on you. “Well! Well, how-dy here!” Two-Bit teases and taps against the maroon bruise that's underneath your jaw. “What’s that lil ol’ thing, Y/N!?”
You cover your neck and start to get embarrassed. Darry immediately pulls into protective mode and pulls you into his arms. You smile at him and he kisses the top of your head. You're forced to follow him around to stay in his arms. “Did you fight something last night? What's all over you—oh ew Darry!” Ponyboy says before covering his eyes and gagging. You laugh at him and serve him a plate of food. “Oh hush you too!” Darry shouts when Two-Bit and Pony start to giggle and conspiring about what happened last night.
You kiss Darry and he deepens it softly. “I’m off work today. Charles was being nice by not scheduling me.” You tell Darry and he smiles at you, letting his hands naturally wrap around your waist. You lay against his chest as you both fall into a natural sway. One thing about Darry is he didn't have two of the same feet, he was an amazing dancer and naturally would always be moving gracefully somehow.
You're both lying like that until Ponyboy says he's ready for school. You smile at Darry and hand him the truck keys, giving him a long kiss and twirling the curls around his neck on your finger as he walks out the door. You're smiling at the door when you hear the sound of the refrigerator opening, clicking of glasses, and two pops. “Really Two-Bit!? Beer at nine in the morning?”
“Hey young-lady! We both had fun, you got it earlier than I did. Now, let me enjoy this!”

Operation Wingman
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Darry Curtis x F!reader
Word count: 1271
Description: Y/N is a new employee at Jim’s burger joint in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ponyboy and Sodapop have been on a mission of helping Darry find a gal.
Authors note: heyyy. so, i’ve been gone. for like a whole year. my bad g. but anyways here’s part two when i publish it -
You push through the swinging door into the kitchen of the small but homely neighborhood diner, Jim's Burger Joint. The smell of fresh beef and fries hits your nose. You almost wince at how pungent it is, but then remember the smell of your other diner job at the Dingo. That place was the most rundown diner filled with robbers and pedos left and right. You couldn't go a day in that joint without something being stolen from you, whether it was your wallet or your innocence. You would have stayed if it wasn't for the never ending impending doom and soulless labor that they put you through. A dinging sound and the sound of shuffling boots pulls you out of your thoughts. You roll your way out of the kitchen and to the front counter.
“Come on Pony! Just one fresh soda and then we can go, I'll even get you a milkshake.” Says a chipper young boy with a wink, flashing a bright smile.
“But the movie starts in 30 minutes, Soda.  Johnny will be waiting for us . I don't want him to be alone. And why can't you just get a coke at the movies?” States an even younger boy.
“Because, child, their coke isn't as… crisp as this fine establishments.” The accentuation on the word crisp really pulled it all together. By the looks of them you had to guess they were Brothers. The slicked greasy hair, the soft eyes, the sibling banter.
“Fine, but if Darry gives us shit about not being where we are supposed to, I'm blaming you.” The boy pouts. Both of them walk over to the end of the counter and take the last two seats. You quickly deliver a few burgers to the men at the bar counter. Each one looks at you, winks, thanks you, then digs into their oily fries like they haven't eaten in days. You make a face of disgust then smile when they notice. You roll your way over to the two young boys.
“Hi there, sorry about the wait, what can I get for you boys today?” You say pulling out your pad and a pen, you click the pen as you wait for the boys to give you their orders. As you look up you can see the youngest one staring at you. He sees you notice and looks down at his lap. The other boy is still looking at the menu of drinks. You can see the thoughts pondering in his mind, he was acting like this decision would be his last.
“Hm lets see here, a nice Coca- Cola sounds good, but i haven't had a Dr. Pepper in a while…” The boy continues to contemplate his decision. Your shoulders slump in boredom as he takes what feels like years to decide. You can feel your eyelids get heavy until you are interrupted again by his loud and excited voice. “Ok i will have one large, no, medium. No wait! Large, Dr. Pepper!” You jot down his drink and turn to the other boy.
“And for you?”
“Just a chocolate shake please, Ma’am, Thank you.” The younger boy says. You smile at them and nod as you skate off to back to grab their drinks.
“She's new here, right? Have you seen her here?” Ponyboy says turning to Soda
“Nope haven't seen her til’ now. Hey, she's a pretty good looking gal” Soda says with a smirk on his face. “Wanna pull the good ol’ operation wingman?” Pony gave soda a disapproving look. Operation wingman was Soda's way of saying ‘Hey! That's a cute girl! Lets harass her into giving her number to their older brother because he's just a grumpy, lonely, muscle man that needs a loving gal in his life.’ Has it ever worked? No. Is that gonna stop him? Absolutely not.
“I don’t know Soda… The last time we did it we got in huge trouble, I mean, Darry got slapped. Can you imagine what would happen if it goes even worse?” Pony mentioned.
“First of all, Slapping her butt wasn't the original plan. I just HAPPENED to mention it to Two-Bit. He did it, then Darry paid the price. In all honesty I thought it would work.” Soda rebuked
“Really, that was your plan. Wow you are quite the genius.”
“Hey woah man now don't get ugly on me.”
“Soda, I don't know. Shouldn't we let Darry find love for himself?”
“That workaholic is never gonna find a date. He goes to work, comes home, showers, reads his newspaper , and then goes to bed. No gal finds that attractive. He needs major help. I mean, the last time he talked to a woman was Mrs. Crawly down the road asking if he could get her cat down the tree.” Soda rants on. If Darry were here he would say otherwise. ( but yes that is the last time he had a conversation with a lady).
“I don’t know Soda, she's new, I don't want to scare her off already. And maybe she's a soc.”  Pony fights back.
“Oh come one man. Believe in something. Believe…” Soda looks at Pony with a pleading look. He knew that he was just trying to help his brother. But Soda wasn't Darry. Darry was a charming guy, but not like Soda. Soda had a natural effect on women and never struggled. So when he sees his brother struggling to get anywhere in life romantically, he plays cupid… more or less.
Pony looks at the window through the diner to the kitchen, catching a glimpse of you. You were a pretty girl and from the sounds of it you were nice as well. Welcoming customers, smiling at them. You had just a nice smile overall, a very bright and kind one. Pony knew Darry needed someone like that. Almost on cue you started walking out with their drinks
“Fine, but we are doing it my way this time.” Pony whispers to Soda but quickly shuts up before you get there.
“Alrighty boys here you go! Is that all for you today? You say pulling out your pen and pad.
“Yep, Thank you Ma’am. Um, but do you know when you guys close. Me and my friends were planning on coming in later.”  Pony takes a long swig of his shake. “And I-I mean this is the best shake I have ever had. If you are here tonight, would you be able to make me another one?” Ponys' request was sly and smart. Asking the perfect questions, all while keeping it subtle. You couldn't help but smile at the compliment. ‘What a weird thing to say’ you thought to yourself.
“Well lucky you, I'm actually closing today. The best time to come is 10. After rush, but before all them truckers come in. Guess I'll be seeing y’all tonight then” You smiled and handed them the bill and walked off to help another customer. Ponyboy looked at Soda with a smug look. Soda then looked at the clock and panic spread over his face.
“Shoot Pony we gotta go! We're gonna be late!” Soda yelled as he hopped off the bar stool and pulled out enough to cover the bill and a dollar as a tip. Pony and Soda ran out the door of the diner, But Pony hesitated and ran back inside.
“What's your name Ma’am!” Pony yells in, grabbing everyone's attention. You whipped your head back.
“Y/N!”  You yelled back. Ponyboy nodded and ran out the door again. You shook your head, and thought to yourself ‘what a bunch of funny kids’.

day 13 of Kinkmas: Christmas Eve With Darrel Curtis
pairing: Darrel Curtis x fem!reader
warning: unprotected sex
Tumblr media
Y/N’s POV
It’s Darrel and I’s first christmas eve together and I want to make it special! I bought this lingerie from Victoria Secret and I thought it looks really sexy to me. (Pretend that VS is around in the 60s bc they opened in the 70s!)
“Babe, you wanna open presents?” Darry says while waiting for me in the living room.
“Yes but can you open mine first?” I say.
“Of cour-.” Darry says when I entered the room with the lingerie under a light pink robe.
“w-what is this?” Darrel says.
“Your present baby.” I say while I sit on his lap.
“Does this present involves the bedroom?”
“Yes sweetheart.”
Darrel picks me up in bridal style to our bedroom and I just giggled when he puts me on our bed. He starts to take his clothes off and I just look at his body.
“Y/N, you okay?”
“Y-y-you’re huge.”
Darrel just smiles and starts to kiss me slowly. I start to moan and tries to deepen our kissing.
“Oh Darry.” I moaned while Darrel kisses my neck and probably gave me a hickey.
“Do you want me to take this lingerie off hon?” Darrel whispers in my ear.
“God yes Dar.”
He gets off of me and I get out of bed and Darrel tries to untie my lingerie and I just giggle.
“Y/N, you ready for a long night?”
“I’m ready.” I smile.
He turns me around to face him and picks me up and lays me down on our bed and makes out with me.
“Make love to me Darry.”
Darrel smiles and starts kissing my neck again and giving me love bites on my sweet spot.
“Ahh” I moan.
“I’m so glad that I’m yours baby.” Darrel says.
“Ah Darry, fuck!”
Darrel fucks me just right at my g spot making me scream.
“Darry faster ahh!”
He goes a little faster but he hears me whimpering and stops and says “You okay baby?”
“I’m alright Dar, that was amazing.” I said while heavy breathing.
“Merry Christmas baby.” Darrel says while pecking on my cheek.
“This is the best Christmas I’ve ever had.” I giggled.

so high school
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ in which you run into your high-school sweetheart, darrel curtis.
( a/n : this isn’t my best work but not every piece has to be my fave! hope u cuties enjoy nonetheless, sorry i have no idea how to write darry )
Tumblr media
his brown eyes met yours from across the classroom for the first time since grade 12.
your heart sank. you thought darry would’ve left by now, started his career as a successful football player or something even better, but he was standing in your classroom, still in tulsa.
your entire teenage years flash before your eyes — running on the field to kiss the quarterback, playing kiss marry kill, driving to parties, meeting his family. he looked the same.
darry’s eyes widen as he sees you. he elbows ponyboy. “you did not tell me that y/n l/n was your geography teacher.” he whispers.
“you’d of freaked if i had told you, man,” ponyboy whispers back.
tonight was parent-teacher interviews. one of your best students was ponyboy curtis, little brother of your high-school sweetheart. they were greasers, and you were a soc, but that never stopped you from going over to their house everyday, back when you were bittersweet 16.
“darry curtis,” you say softly, smiling gently. “long time no see.”
he avoids your gaze, his cheeks glowing pink. “yeah, nice to see you, y/n.”
“feel free to take a seat,” you offer, and they sit in front of your desk.
you begin talking about ponyboy — his incredible grades, your insistence on him participating more, assuring darry that ponyboy has a high chance of getting into a good post-secondary school.
you look at darry again. you have to address the elephant in the room — it would be weird not to. “this is weird, isn’t it?” you ask, voice soft. “i mean, we met in this school, and now i’m teaching your younger brother.”
“yeah, i guess so,” he agrees. “i honestly thought you would’ve left this dump by now, you always talked about wanting to move to new york city or toronto or somethin’.”
“yeah, plans changed.” you shrug. “i thought you would’ve moved by now, too.”
“plans changed,” he repeats, quoting you. you smile at him.
“what have you been up to since high school?” you ask him. “still play football?”
“i roof houses.” he answers. “but yeah, sometimes i fool around with football. not as much, though.”
“you were good,” you compliment.
“thanks,” he answers. he is never this awkward, what is happening? “you still into reading and history and stuff?”
“yeah,” you answer. “i mean, ponyboy can tell you, i never shut up about it when i’m teaching. always got a new book to talk about.”
and there we go. the conversation is back to ponyboy. “oh, that’s nice. pony only talks good about you. just never pieced together that it was you.”
“yeah, well, guess you thought i would’ve been gone by now.”
“guess so,” he agrees. “glad you’re not.”
you smile at him.
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
the following weeks, you’d notice ponyboy talking to you a bit more whenever he could in class, talking to you about darry. and when you walked into the DX, sodapop asked if you were “darry’s chick,” and you had no idea how to respond.
flowers started blooming at the local park in your neighbourhood, so you decided to take a walk and pick some to decorate your classroom and decorate them for spring.
everything reminded you of him — you walked past a small punch of pink tulips. he got you tulips for your grade 11 semi-formal. he got them for a discount at the gas station, it was all he could afford. they were beautiful.
while you were walking, you spotted a gang of greasers. darry was with them, he was the tallest and stuck out like a sore thumb among the pink and yellow flowers and blossoming trees.
sodapop and ponyboy spotted you instantly, catching your eye and then telling the rest of the gang that you were here. they all excitedly started pressuring darry to go talk to you. you overheard the giggles and you couldn’t help but smile to yourself.
darry walked up to you after a few moments of resistance. you looked stunning — your hair gently waving in the warm breeze, a handful of wildflowers in your grasp. and you were smiling at him!
“hi darry,” you greet. he starts walking beside you, leaving his friends behind.
“hey, y/n,” he says. his voice is deeper than it was when you knew him. “it was real nice seein’ you at ponyboy’s parent-teacher thing.”
you agree, and then he speaks again. “i just, uh, wanted to talk to you about something.”
“what about?” you ask with a tilt of your head.
“okay, so i know we dated back in high school and stuff,” he starts. “it was real fun. we had some good times.”
“yeah, we did.” you agree.
“do you want to try again?” he asks you. his muscular body and his intimidating looks would be nothing if you heard how he was speaking now. it felt wholesome, shy, like how he asked you out in high school.
you take a second to think. you remember how you felt when he took another girl to prom 3 weeks after you broke up, you remember how that hurt you and how you wanted to kill him. but you remember watching shows with him on saturday nights, you remember kissing in the backseat, you remember his mom, mrs. curtis, kissing you on the cheek the first time you met her. you remember cheering when he got a touchdown, you remember him kissing tears off your face when he got hurt in a rumble. you remember the good and the bad. and when you look back up at him, you feel so high school.
“yeah,” you say softly. “i would love that, darry.”

Do It Then
Darry Curtis x GN! Reader
Tumblr media
Darry had come home late, he was tired and looked incredibly grumpy and much to his dismay there were far too many other people at the house that certainly didn't need to be there, you being one of them.
Dinner was being served, Pony, Johnny, Soda, and you were in the house, eating dinner, Dally and Two-Bit were on the floor watching television, and Steve was on the porch drinking. Darry came in and headed straight to the bathroom, not saying a word to anyone.
"Darry wait." You say stopping him, you lick your thumb and wipe off some of the dirt from his cheek before kissing the now clean spot.
He was still a little annoyed but what you did certainly helped, he held your hand up to his lips and kissed it.
When he came out of the shower, you put his plate fresh from the microwave onto the table re heated, Johnny and Pony were helping you clean up while Soda went in next for the shower.
Darry hugged you from behind and placed a kiss on your head before going to eat, you knew he was just tired but it didn't stop you from worrying.
"(y/n)?" Johnny timidly asks.
"Yes Johnny?" You reply gently.
"When are you and Darry gonna get married?"
Darry spat out his water and Pony looked over at him and started laughing, both of your faces were bright red. Which caused everyone else that was inside to laugh.
"We..." (Y/n) said trying to find their words. "Well technically that's up to him, traditionally he has to pop the question."
"Why does it gotta be me?" Darry asked with an annoyed tone. Dally gave him a shocked look before looking down at his very interesting almost empty plate.
"I can do it." You tell him crossing your arms, "I'd be more than hsppy to."
"Do it then." Darry challenges, not believing you're actually gonna do it.
"Want me to wait for Sodapop to get out of the shower?" You ask with a smirk.
"No, no, go right ahead."
Pony rushed to the bathroom door and yells to Soda.
"Get out here! (Y/n)s gonna propose!"
Two-Bit runs outside and grabs Steve pulling him in the house while telling him what he's missed.
The shower cuts off immediately and Soda comes out with a shower wrapped around his waist, Johnny and you laugh.
You search your jean pockets and sigh, nothing. You go over to your backpack laying on the couch and pull and smile before pulling out a small black pouch.
Darrys face drops he didn't actually think you had anything let alone carried it with you. Two-Bit starts laughing covering his mouth, Steve's got his jaw to the floor and Dally's hiding a smile
"(y/n) wait." Darry said getting up.
"Nope not a chance." You say going towards him. "Now's actually a perfect time, most of the families here and you look absolutely perfect-"
"(Y/n)." Darry states, he grabs both of your hands and stares you down. "Let me get mine if we're doing this."
Your mouth is left agape as Darry runs upstairs, the boys are literally screaming at this development. Darry comes back down a few minutes later with a gold wedding band, you pull out of the bag a silver band.
"Holy shit." Johnny says.
"Do we both get on a knee then?" You ask laughing.
"I don't know." Darry says smiling.
"Here," you say getting down on a knee, "I'll go first."
Darry looks down at you and can't stop laughing, his entire face is red as a cherry.
"Darrel Shaynne Curtis Jr."
"Not the full name." Soda groans out, the group laughs and you try to continue.
"I have loved you since Middle School, yes I know it's horribly embarrassing, and you are the most kind hearted, caring, loving, stubborn, brave, and the man of my dreams."
"Cheesy!" Two-Bit calls out. Steve elbows him in the side, making him yelp.
You laugh despite the tears filling your eyes;
"You introduced me to the best family I've ever gotten to know and I love you, your brothers, the entire gang with my entire soul and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, through every bit of bullshit, and every fight, and every incredibly perfect moment."
Darry laughs, taking one hand away to wipe a tear away from his face.
"So," you ask. "Will you marry me?"
"Say no." Two-Bit whispers, another jab from Steve despite Two-Bits chuckles.
"Yes." Darry says blushing, the entire gang cheers and Darry picks you up to kiss him, you give him the ring and he slips in on.
"Hey!" Soda yells, "I don't remember being asked for permission!"
You and Darry part still smiling.
"I asked y'all last week if you were cool with it." You say laughing.
"You asked if we were cool with the idea." Soda says.
"Same thing!" You counter.
"Hold on!" Two-Bit says we gotta check out the ring.
The entire gang gets up and moved you aside so they can inspect the ring, if Darry wasn't laughing he'd probably push them out of the way to get back to you.
Dally holds out the hand and everyone inspects it.
"Where'd you buy this from?" Steve asks.
"I had a friend show me out to make them."
"Bullshit you didn't make this!" Dally says.
"That's how I got this fucking burn scar!" You say pointing to your right hand.
Dally goes over to inspect the scar thinking that it will plainly tell him if you're lying or not.
"Yeah That's real." He says letting go of your hand.
"Ok, ok." Darry says moving out of the crowd and going back over to you.
"I thought you said this happened at work." He picks up your hand and inspects it.
"I lied." You say shrugging. "I promise I won't lie to you again, I just didn't know how to get past it."
Darry presses several kisses to the now scared area of your hand, and then kneels down taking both of your hands. You laugh as he pulls out his ring for you.
"(y/f/n)-"
"Yes." You say automatically.
Darry laughs and opens his mouth to continue.
"Yes." You say again.
"Will you let me finish?" He asks laughing.
You laugh and finally let him finish.
"I fell in love with you in Highschool, I remember the exact day I noticed it, you were at one of our games and we had won, everyone was in the field and you ran right into me and apologized before fixing my helmet."
"Oh God not that one." You groan out.
"Your face grew red just from talking to me, and I thought to myself; "How long have I thought they were that cute." And after our first date that weekend, I didn't want to envision a future without you in it."
You started to cry and laugh at the same time.
"I wanna marry you, I want to grow old with you, I want you, every bit of you, for the rest of our lives, because I love you and everyday you show me that I love you a little more than the day before."
"So, (y/n)."
"Say no!" Pony and Soda yell, "He didn't ask anyone for permission like you did!"
"Will you marry me?" Darry asks.
"Say no!" Dally yells.
"Yes!" You say.
Darry smiles and you tackle him to the ground, leaving kisses on every possible surface of his skin you can kiss.
You can hear the boys either catcalling or booing.
"You can do better (y/n)!"
Darry flips them the bird ashe pulls you in for a kiss, then he takes the ring and slips it on you. When you two part and get up, the boys gather around you to see the ring.
"I would've said no." Two-Bit says, "Yours was much better and your ring was hand made, this ain't nothing compared to yours."
"Oh absolutely!" Soda says, "I can't believe he didn't even ask us if we were ok with him marrying you. Very disrespectful young man, are you sure you want to go through with this?"
Darry pulls him back and Soda runs off laughing, Darry chasing after him, before tackling him nesr the door.
Dally pulls you into a hug which at first shocks you but then he says:
"If he doesn't treat you right we'll fix him for you."
When he lets you go, Pony holds you next.
"You alright Pony?" You ask.
"Better than alright." He says, "Thought Johnny and I would have to hide the ring for you to find."
"You two planned this did you?" You ask laughing.
He nods and you grab Johnny and pull him into a hug with you and Pony which he eagerly accepts.
After giving and receiving hugs and congratulations from the gang, somehow you find yourself being pulled outside by Darry into the bed of his truck.
He kisses you under the stars in every place possible (without taking off your clothes), until you're both out of breath and even then he still wants more of you.
"I love you." You whisper to him.
"I love you too." Darry says and goes back to kissing you. "I love you (y/n)." He whispers against your lips, your hands, your cheeks until you're both giggling and starting to get a little cold.
Someone knocks on the trucks bed hard enough that you both jump apart and catch Two-Bit laughing as he runs away for the evening.
Darry helps you out, Dally and Steve aren't in the house, Johnny and Pony are on the couch talking.
"Johnny," you say coming in. "You wanna stay here tonight?"
"...If it's alright." He says.
"Of course it is." You say going to get the spare pillow and blankets.
"Do you want any jammies?"
Pony laughs and Johnny hides his red face in the couch.
"Love," Darry says kissing your shoulder. "They're teenagers, they don't say: "Jammies" anymore."
"PJs?" You ask but it somehow makes it worse.
Pony hands him some comfortable clothes for sleeping and you and Darry head upstairs to go to bed. You pull Darry close to you, his arms circling your waist, you can feel his smile as he pressed kisses into your hair.
"Thank you." You say into his chest.
"For what?' He asks, you look up at him and smile.
"For making my life a dream come true."

headcannons of the boys dating a soc!reader
by- sandy
the outsiders x gn!reader
warnings- a bit of language, lowercase intended, not proofread, and some fluff
word count-
request- Headcannons on dating each of the greaser boys, as a soc??
a/n 💌 - ahh finally finished! i apologize for the long wait, this longer than expected.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
darrel curtis-
-oh my my, darry usual is strong but he was weak knees for you my friend. he has known you since the diapers, growing up together, learning and exploring together has created such a strong bond between the two of you. nobody can take that from you two, nobody.
-you may have different lifestyles, bank numbers, and lived on opposite sides of the town but that has never stopped you two. high school sweethearts, the golden couple, then couple that was going to go places. unfortunately due to the death of mrs and mr. curtis, there was a halt in darry's plans. you were more than willing to help out and change your plans completely but darry insisted that you go to college. you gave in, unwillingly. you live at the curits estate and feel more comfortable there than you ever had in your own home.
-you guys love going on dates together but recently it’s been a while since you two have had a night to yourselves.
-he sometimes will randomly being home flowers for you (most likely roses). even through his busy schedule he still makes time for you because he doesn’t want to lose you because you mean so much to him. -your parents would have preferred you had ended up with a soc but they love darry and know he is gonna go places.
-overall your “social status’s” don’t change anything between you two
sodapop curtis-
-you and sodapop are one of the cutest couples out there, this boy worships the ground you walk on. you are everything he has ever dreamed off, the perfect s/o.
-at first you thought he was too cheery but you hav grown to love that side of him. your parents we’re not keen on him and still aren’t especially since he is a dropout.
-when he told you he was dropping out…you needed a second. it was only fair, i men’s he just threw it on you but you knew he was the one and didn’t let this stop you from being with the love of your life.
-you help with some schoolwork if he wants but you don’t force it on him because he left school for reasons that are valid. you always say you can help out with money but he always declines, he doesn’t like taking peoples charity. (a canon i have for him.)
-i do think at times he thinks about your future together at you which consists of two ending up married and having kids but he fears he won’t be able to provide for you and get everything you ever dreamt of. and though that may be true…all you have ever wanted is him. you have to remind him constantly.
-he does fear you might leave him for someone more intelligent and more wealthy but deep downs he knows that you would never think of that. you belong to him as much as he belongs to you…this definitely isn’t one-sided love
-overall i do think he worries he won’t ever been enough but you always change his mind.
ponyboy curtis-
-he knows he is too young to start thinking about your guys future but that doesn’t stop him. his feelings about the future are a mix of his older brothers…at times he worries he isn’t worthy of you but other times it never bothers him.
-your parents, though ponyboy is from the north side, have taken quite a liking to him. he is smart and is going places.
-he wants to take you to the city and help you reach your goals and dreams. he wants to achieve your guys dreams together and get outta town together. he wants his kids to already be at a place where they don’t have to leave to gain their dreams.
-he wants to be enough for you, he doesn’t want to lose but if it’s for the best for you…he will let you go. he wants you to do well in life and get everything you deserve…even if that means he isn’t right there by your side.
-he thinks your worthy of the entire world, he secretly thinks your the most amazing person to ever walk to planet. unlike sodapop, he keeps it to himself. -part of the reason he studies so hard is so that he can prove to everyone (including himself) that he is worthy of calling you his. -though bank numbers don’t mean anything to you and sometimes him. he wants to be able give you everything you look at and like. he wants to give you your dreams.
johnny cade-
-this poor boy is worried about everything, that your going to leave him, that he won’t ever be enough, that he might accidentally make you run away, that he will mess this up. he wish life was simpler. but it isn’t (sorry johnny)
-you always try your best to prove to him that your happy with him but it never works. he is nervous that your gonna leave. -he spends a lot of time at your house because it’s one of the only places he truly feels safe. your mom adores johnny and always checks up on him. she knows about his living situation. your dad on the other hand isn’t so fond of him but you seem quite happy and all he wants is for you to be happy, and i mean what harm could being with johnny do? -he can be quite a worry wart and nervous wreck, you really are the only person who can calm him down. you have to be super calm around him when he is anxious or scared and you can handle that. he loves you inside and out would never ever hurt you the way his dad does to him but gets scared he might get angry and accidentally hit you. you always say he can come live with you and your folks but he always declines. he doesn’t want to be a burden.
-i think one of his biggest fears (beside you leaving and him hurting you accidentally) is that he will pull you down, that you won’t be able to achieve things with him around. he doesn’t want to leave your side and won’t realize that he is pulling you down and that you won’t say anything because you don’t want to lose him either. that you will end up miserable and it was all his fault. -i think that he feels like you could do so much better then him partly because you have the choice of many options and opportunities. people at school i think make fun of you two being together and he lets it get to him…they make fun of the top of you because johnny is a poor kid with an unstable family while your a rich kid with a happy white picket fence family
dallas winston-
-at first he was totally against the idea of you two being together, i mean dallas is infamous for hating socs but slowly he began to fall for you and everything about you. at first you decided to keep your relationship a secret and oh was it the time of your life. sneaking around and giggling at night, looking at each other form across the room at bucks and him slipping dirty little notes in your backpack when your heading to your car after school (he picks up johnny- a canon i have). it was like a mission not to get caught.
-but then at some point you got tired of the fooling around, you wanted something serious and you wanted it with dallas. i am not going to lie, this scared the shit out of him. he has only ever fooled around, it’s all he knows. he probably ghosted you for a bit (i am sorryyy) and this shattered your heart. he saw your vibe had completely flopped ever since he ghosted you and this made him feel terrible. “you did this to them, you , you asshole.” was all he could tell himself when his eyes woudl laid on you.
-at some point he couldn’t handle it anymore and said that he was ready for a serious relationship, you guys most likely had an argument about how he completely ghosted you and then out of nowhere cam up to you and said he was ready. you guys sooner or later began dating, serious dating. -when he met your parents they completely disapproved of the tall brunette due to many thing one of the main things was of his criminal record. he probably tried his best at the dinner (look at my meet the parents post for a kind of play by play of what it might be like) to be a gentleman but then one of your family members got to him and his true colors showed. i think you guys probably had an argument.
-overall i think it would be to much pressure for our dallas, he would feel the need to be perfect 24/7 and that would get to him. it wasn’t the fact that you two were in a serious relationship it was that he could handle getting judged for every action he made that he had made before he met you and they weren’t judged. i don’t think the relationship would survive more than a year before dallas broke it off. but later down the road after dallas had matured and cleaned up his act, you had changed and grew as person, soon enough you two would find your way back to each other and this time your relationship would survive.
keith “two-bit” matthews-
-at first it was just fooling around, i mean you could never picture your future with him, but the farther down the road the more you could picture it. and soon enough you found your daydreams and dreams being about you and his life together with kids and the perfect house, the whole package.
-you never said anything about being a serious couple but he felt the same way which was odd for a character like him. he pictured him and his kids eating chocolate cake for breakfast every morning and you lecturing them how it’s not good for you as he took a sip of beer. he always smiles at the daydream.
-when you guys eventually got serious, you wanted him to meet your parents. he tried his best to clean up himself and his act when he met your parents. he made your dad laugh more then once, your mother thought he was childish but your dad loved him. which was a shocker to you and two-bit. you walked out of that house beaming like a million suns.
-overall i think you and two-bit would make it with your looks and his sense of humor…you two fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, at times he may doubt his worthiness of you but he doesn’t like to focus on the negative…he wants to put all his focus on you
steve randle-
-to be honest you guys probably met because you car needed to be fix and since he works at dx, one thing lead to another. he was the one to fall first by far, he was in awe of your presence. a lot like soda he probably worships the ground you walk on but not as much as soda would. no one can.
-i think that steve probably thought that he was to immature for you and undeserving. you are an angel and he doesn’t deserve you, is what he told himself. you refuse to let him think like that. to you his other dream guy.
-i think he would get along with your dad if he is in to cars but other than that probably not. he is a bit childish if i do say so myself so people don’t always love their child going out with someone like that, if they want to be together in the future. your mom most likely isn’t fond of him because unlike your dad who likes cars equaling he likes steve, she has nothing in common with him.
-i would like to think that steve spoils you a bit, he doesn’t want you thinking you deserve less just because your dating some guy on the north side. you deserve the world and he knows it.
-overall i think you and steve would make it because he had won over your dad. your mom grew to love him and you were the happiest person in town, beside steve of course. he still at times thinks you deserve the world and then goes but everything he can and gives you it. sometimes it can be really random stuff like a pan or a fish bowl which you don’t need either but you love it. you still have a drainer he got you once in your room. and you guys got a fish together so the fish bowl was put to use. you never don’t use the stuff he gets you because it means a lot that he buys it for you.
tim shepard-
-this guy could care less about statuses with you. he doesn't care if your the most hated person on the planet or the most beloved person...the richest or the poorest. to him your just you, a perfect human being that he has the gift of calling his. he is super protective of you, nobody can touch you but him.
-your parents hate that you are with him but know that they have no control. they think he is a bad influence.
-you most likely are a maternal figure in curly's life. he looks up to you and goes to you when somethings wrong, something that he thinks tim wouldn't understand. honestly you love being able to give curly that kind of support and care.
-i think tim would definitely try and get you to see that he is a bad guy and that you deserve someone better, someone that can give you everything you could ever dream of, someone who can provide. it didn't work, he was what you wanted not some egotistical ass from the south side. you wanted tim shepard.
-he would secretly worship you. he knows he has caught a good one and isn't gonna let you go. he doesn't want to seem lovesick, it ruins his street credit guys come on. deep down though he would do anything for you, if would make you happy and means he gets to see that life-changing smile of yours...then he is going to do it.
-overall, you and tim would be endgame. he just wants you to be his. he doesn't care about the bank numbers or what people think, and neither do you.
curly shepard-
-curly shepard was definelty intimadated when he first saw you, for sure. your beauty and riches made him feel like he had no chance with you. little did he know that you were pinning for him.
-i think the reason your parents don't approve of him is because of his record other than that they think he is sweet boy.
-i think he would feel like that he is never enough for you. that you need someone steady and mature. to him he is neither and he feels that is what you deserve. he would never dare to break it off because he wouldn't be able to handle the pain of losing you and he wouldn't be able to handle knowing he was causing you pain.
-curly unlike his brother does care about the numbers and statuses because it makes him see that he doesn't deserve for which some reason empowers him. he wants to be better for you meaning that he is trying his best not to get in trouble, to do well in school so that he can have those big numbers and statuses for you. a lot people think its stupid, his curly shepard. how is he gonna make it out of tusla with his record, but you believed in him and thats all that mattered.
-overall, curly is head over heels for you and you bring out the best in him. what's in it for you? well you get good cuddles and a sweet boyfriend who loves you for you nothing else.

could you maybe possibly do like.. darry x motherly sweet reader? I js love darry sm omg
A/N: THIS IS SO CUTE STOPPP😩💗💗
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ever since Darry met y/n in high school he knew that she was gonna be the one and only for him. She was so sweet and loving towards him and this brothers it felt almost to good to be true. When mrs. Curtis first saw her, let’s just say she was the daughter she never had<3 Even before the incident happened with his parents, y/n still stuck by Darry’s side, helping out with rent and made small pastries for the gang when they would come over. Anything to at least make them feel safe. But even though she’s a total sweetheart, she can go into mommy mode REAL QUICK.
“Two-bit stop touching the chocolate cake!” Y/n swatted at Two-but with the spatula on his hand.
“Why? It’s gonna get eaten anyway!” He argued trying to grab the glass platter the cake was cooling off on. “I said no! Now go and watch Micky Mouse or something.” She said and huffed stepping in front of him to prevent him from getting the cake. He huffed and walked into the living room and sat on the couch with Steve and Soda. Johnny and Ponyboy were sitting on the ground playing poker, ever since they got back from hiding in the church they’ve been more fond of playing with the cards more often.
Y/n glanced back inside of the living room and couldn’t help but smile. She was glad everything worked out for Johnny and Pony, lord knows what could’ve happened to Johnny or pony in that happened in that church. She looked back at the table and grabs the homemade chocolate frosting that was mixed inside the bowl, and grabbed the frosting knife and got a good amount of chocolate on it and began to ice the cake. Few minutes later she was done with the cake, the sweet chocolate smell filling the house up deliciously!
“Ok, ok! get your plates ready.” She said finally with a little sigh still smiling. Two-bit and Steve race to the cake first, Ponyboy and Johnny wait until they’re done acting like a bunch of kid fighting for a toy before they would get there slice of it. Once They all got a piece a few people left due to the time, or they had other plans for tonight, which left Y/n, Soda, and Ponyboy at the house. They heard the car rumble outside the house of the familiar sound of Darry’s run down truck echoing. Y/n just finished washing the mess of dishes and bowls she used for her cake. She quickly was drying off her hand feeling slightly tired. The front door knob shook before it opened to Darry’s tired form walking through the door with a heavy sigh before his brothers welcomed him home. “Smells good in here.” Darry said tilting his head to the kitchen. He walked into the small kitchen and leaned in to see Y/n smiling and quickly walking up to him. His hand falling on their usual resting place on her hips. Pulling her in with a grin on his face.
“Hi, darlin’” he says with the sound of love lacing his voice, making her weak in the knees. “Hi, Darrell.” She said, her hands traveling to the back of his head, her nails massaging his scalp slightly and pulling his head against hers, both of them excepting comfort from each other. “Missed you s’much.” Y/n mumbled quietly her eyes shutting trying to keep the intimate moment for longer. “Missed you too.”
After Darry got ready for bed she got into pajamas y/n had already stored inside Darry’s drawers. This being one of the days that you can stay over at the Curtis house, for the weekends. She finished getting ready, she got under the covers turning on her side to turn off the lamp on the bedside table on Darry’s side of the bed and let out a soft sigh and glanced at the open door that showed Darry, and Soda talking in the living room. Before she thought about it more, she pulled the warm covers over her body, immediately relaxing at the warmth of Darry’s blankets. Y/n closed her eyes for a moment too long, and felt the bed dipping beside her making her jolt awake again. “Sorry, sweetheart.” Darry said turning his head back towards her, and brought his hand to her face gently. “It’s f’ine.” She slurred tiredly. He smiled softly at her state, and sat up slightly trying to wake herself up fully. He used his hand to bring her back down to the bed again. “You don’t need to get up.”
“Well then, get into bed faster!”
He wanted to finish getting things getting finished inside the house, but he knew that he would be exhausted in the morning but with a job well done. “Don’t overwork, please.” She said almost like he was an open book. “Come on-“
Y/n pulling him down towards her, bringing him into a much needed kiss. Lips moving against each other going deeper each time. He relaxed into the soft and gentle embrace from her, making his whole body into putty.
“Just relax tonight, yea?” She broke the kiss, looking into his blue-ish green eyes, convincingly.
“Jus’ tonight, Darlin’.”

One
The Curtis household felt like it was holding its breath, each tick of the clock a solemn reminder of Ponyboy's absence. Darry's footsteps reverberated off the walls like a steady drumbeat, his broad shoulders weighed down by worry, his usually composed demeanor strained under the weight of uncertainty. His brow was furrowed, deep worry lines etched into his forehead, a testament to the sleepless nights and restless pacing.
Soda, usually the embodiment of youthful energy and charisma, sat slumped on the worn couch, his vibrant spirit dampened by the heavy cloud of uncertainty that hung in the air. His hands fidgeted restlessly, tracing invisible patterns on the frayed edges of the cushions, his gaze fixed on the floor as if searching for answers in the worn wood.
And then there was you, standing in the doorway watching the two solemn brothers. With determined steps, you crossed the room, your movements purposeful yet gentle, as if afraid to disturb the fragile peace that hung in the air. The creak of the floorboards beneath your feet barely registered against the backdrop of tension that encased the room.
As you drew closer, the lines of worry etched into Darry and Soda's faces became more pronounced, the worry lingering in their eyes like a shadow refusing to fade. But in your presence, there was a glimmer of hope, a promise of comfort and solace in the midst of chaos. Your unwavering support was a silent reassurance, a reminder that no matter what challenges they faced, they were not alone.
And as you stood before them, a pillar of strength and resilience, the weight of their worries seemed to lift ever so slightly. In that moment, surrounded by uncertainty and fear, they found solace in your presence, knowing that as long as you were by their side, they could weather any storm.
"Darry," you said softly, your voice steady despite the turmoil swirling around you. "We'll find him. Ponyboy's smart, smarter than any of us, he knows how to take care of himself."
Soda glanced up at you, his eyes reflecting a mix of fear and gratitude, like flickering flames in the darkness. His usual bright spirit seemed dimmed, overshadowed by the worry that gnawed at his insides. "Yeah, Pony's tough," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper, as if afraid to give voice to his deepest fears. "But what if... what if he's hurt, or..."
You moved to sit beside Soda, the worn cushions of the couch sinking slightly under your weight as you wrapped an arm around his shoulders. The warmth of your touch was a comforting anchor in the sea of uncertainty that threatened to engulf them all. "We'll find him, Soda," you reassured him, your voice soft yet resolute, a steady hand in the midst of the storm. "Ponyboy's resourceful. And if he needs help, he knows we're here for him."
Soda's shoulders sagged with relief at your words, the tension easing from his frame ever so slightly. In that moment, your presence was a lifeline, a reminder that no matter how dire the situation seemed, they were not alone. With your unwavering support, they could face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that together, they were stronger than any obstacle they might encounter. In your embrace, he found comfort and solace, a brief respite from the turmoil that threatened to consume him.
Darry ran a hand through his hair, the strands falling back into place with a tired resignation. His gaze seemed fixed on the window, as though he could conjure Ponyboy's figure with sheer force of will. "I just can't shake this feeling, Y/N," he confessed, his voice a raw mixture of regret and anguish. "I should've been there for him. I should've been a better brother."
The weight of his words hung heavy in the air, a tangible reminder of the self-doubt that plagued him. You watched him with the burden of responsibility pressing down on his broad shoulders. For once, he seemed so vulnerable, so achingly human, and your heart burned for him.
Reaching out, you gently grasped Darry's hand in yours, the contact a silent reassurance of your unwavering support. "You're a great brother, Darry," you insisted, your voice soft yet firm, determined to break through the walls of self-doubt that threatened to engulf him. "You've done everything you can for him. Sometimes things happen that are out of our control. It got a little heated. But he knows you love him. I promise you that."
Darry's gaze flickered to meet yours, his eyes searching for solace amidst the storm of his own emotions. In your forward gaze, he found a sliver of hope, a reminder that even in his darkest moments, he was not alone. And though the weight of guilt still lingered heavy in his heart, for the first time in days, he felt a flicker of light amidst the darkness.
Darry's eyes met yours, gratitude, and relief flooding through him like a tidal wave. In that moment, as you stood by his side, offering him strength, and understanding, he knew without a doubt that you were his person. You were the one who could ease his troubled mind, who could calm his fears with just a few words.
As you enveloped them both in a comforting embrace, Darry felt a sense of peace wash over him. No matter what challenges they faced, as long as you were by their side, they would get through it together. At this instance, surrounded by uncertainty and fear, Darry realized that he never wanted to spend another day without you by his side.

Two
After the rumble, the weight of exhaustion settled like a heavy fog over the Curtis household. You sat by Ponyboy's bedside, tending to him as he lay weak and feverish, your heart heavy with worry for his well-being after the rumble.
Meanwhile, Darry and Soda hovered nearby, their usual composure shattered by the recent losses of their friends. The absence of Dally and Johnny cast a palpable shadow over their already heavy hearts, each moment weighed down by the gravity of their grief.
Ponyboy's condition only added to the tension in the air. His fever raged unchecked, his breaths coming in shallow, ragged gasps. You could see the fear in Darry and Soda's eyes as they watched over him, their concern laced into every line of their faces.
In the dim light of the bedroom, the silence was suffocating, broken only by the occasional cough from Ponyboy's bed. Darry paced back and forth, his brow furrowed with worry, while Soda sat with his head in his hands, his shoulders hunched with the weight of his sorrow.
Despite their best efforts to hide it, the pain worn into their features was unmistakable. They were both nervous and sad, grappling with their own emotions while trying to stay strong for Ponyboy's sake.
And as you continued to care for Ponyboy, offering him comfort and solace in his time of need, you couldn't help but feel the weight of their grief pressing down on you as well. In that moment, surrounded by so much sadness and uncertainty, you knew that you were all in this together, bound by love and loss in equal measure.
Darry, the sturdy rock upon which they all leaned in times of trouble, now stood crumbling under the weight of his emotions. His usually stoic facade shattered, revealing the raw vulnerability beneath as tears threatened to spill from his eyes. Each breath seemed to come harder, as if the weight of his grief pressed down upon him like a suffocating blanket.
With each memory of Dally's fiery spirit and Johnny's quiet courage, Darry's heart clenched with pain, his chest tightening with each beat. He had always been the one to hold them all together, to shoulder the burdens of their troubled lives with unyielding strength. But now, faced with the harsh reality of their losses, he found himself drowning in a sea of sorrow, his usual composure shattered by the enormity of their grief.
His shoulders, once squared with determination, now hunched with the weight of his sorrow, exhaustion evident in his demeanor. Every movement seemed labored, as if the simple act of breathing had become a Herculean task.
And yet, even in the depths of his despair, there was a flicker of something else within him – a fierce determination to honor the memories of those they had lost, to carry on in their absence with the same strength and resilience they had shown in life. It was a silent promise, whispered in the darkness of his own anguish, to never forget the sacrifices they had made, to never let their memories fade into the void.
And so, with tears streaming down his cheeks and his heart heavy with grief, Darry stood as a testament to the power of love in the face of loss. For even in his darkest hour, he knew that their bond was unbreakable, their love eternal. And it was that love that unwavering devotion to each other, that would carry them through even the darkest of nights.
Soda, typically the heart and soul of any gathering, sat in somber silence, his usually lively demeanor overshadowed by the weight of his own sorrow. His hands shook as he reached for a cigarette, the ember casting a faint glow in the dimly lit room. The smoke curled around him like a ghostly veil, a silent testament to the heaviness that hung in the air.
Despite his efforts to appear composed, the cracks in Soda's facade were evident to those who knew him best. His eyes, usually bright with mischief, now held a haunted look, a reflection of the pain that gnawed at his soul. With each drag of his cigarette, he sought solace in the fleeting distraction it provided, a brief respite from the relentless ache of loss.
And yet, even in his scariest of moments, there was a quiet strength in Soda's resolve, a determination to honor the memory of his fallen friends. Though his spirit may be dimmed by grief, his loyalty to those he loved burned brighter than ever, a guiding light in the darkness that surrounded them all.
As you sat by Ponyboy's bedside, tending to his fever, your heart felt heavy with the weight of multiple burdens. The physical task of cooling his fevered brow and offering him sips of water seemed almost insignificant compared to the mental load you carried.
Your exhaustion was palpable, each movement weighed down by the weight of their sorrow. Your own grief mingled with theirs in a tangled web of pain and loss, making it difficult to distinguish where one ended and the other began. But still, you soldiered on, driven by a fierce determination to offer whatever comfort and solace you could to those you loved.
In the early hours of the morning, as the world slept on, you remained vigilant by Ponyboy's side, your weariness evident in every weary breath. The events of the past few days weighed heavily on your mind, the memories of Dally and Johnny's deaths like a knife twisting in your heart. The loss felt so raw, so overwhelming, that it threatened to take you entirely.
As the first light of dawn filtered through the window, illuminating the room with a gentle glow, Darry's tired eyes fell upon you, still faithfully tending to Ponyboy's needs. It was then, a wave of gratitude washed over him, mingling with the sorrow that still clung to his heart.
Watching you, exhausted yet steadfast in your care for his brother, Darry felt a profound sense of admiration and appreciation wash over him. Your dedication, your selflessness, spoke volumes about the depth of your love not just for Ponyboy, but for all of them.
In the soft light of dawn, as the lines of weariness formed into your features softened with a faint smile, Darry knew with a certainty that resonated deep within his soul - you were his rock, his anchor in the storm. Your unwavering presence, your boundless capacity for love and compassion, had seen them through the darkest of nights.
And as he watched you, a silent vow formed in his heart - to cherish you, to protect you, to love you with every fiber of his being. For in that moment, as the first light of dawn cast its gentle glow upon the room, Darry knew without a shadow of a doubt that you were his, now and forever. Together, you would face whatever challenges lay ahead, united in your grief and your love for each other, a bright light amidst the sorrow that surrounded them.

Three
Months had passed since that tumultuous night, yet the memory of your unwavering support continued to linger in Darry's mind. The morning sunlight spilled through the kitchen window, casting a warm glow over the room as you bustled about, preparing lunches for Darry and Soda. Darry leaned against the doorway, his heart swelling with affection as he watched you move with effortless grace, a vision of domesticity and love.
As he observed you, a smile tugged at the corners of his lips, a silent acknowledgment of the happiness you brought into his life each and every day. "Morning, darlin'," he greeted, his voice soft with affection.
You turned to face him, returning his smile with one of your own. "Morning, Darry," you replied, your eyes twinkling with warmth.
Just then, Soda bounded into the kitchen, his energy infectious as he ruffled Darry's hair in passing. "Morning, you two lovebirds!" he teased, flashing a grin before helping himself to a slice of toast.
Darry chuckled softly, his eyes alight with affection as he watched Soda's playful antics. "Morning, Soda," he greeted, his voice warm with brotherly fondness.
Soda winked mischievously at Darry before turning his attention to you, his grin widening as he took in the sight of you bustling around the kitchen. "Y/N, you're a lifesaver," he declared, grabbing another slice of toast from the counter. "I don't know what we'd do without you."
You laughed softly, the sound like music to Darry's ears as he felt a swell of pride for the woman he loved. "Just doing my part," you replied with a playful wink, your eyes meeting Darry's briefly before returning to your task.
As you continued to work, Darry couldn't tear his gaze away from you. With each small gesture, each tender smile, his love for you swelled within his chest, threatening to burst free. It was moments like these, the simple, everyday interactions shared between the three of you, that filled Darry with a profound sense of gratitude and contentment.
Surrounded by the warmth and love of his family, Darry knew with a certainty that resonated deep within his soul – he wanted to spend the rest of his life by your side, cherishing every moment, every laugh, and every small gesture of love that you shared. And as he watched you move about the kitchen, his heart overflowed with love and adoration for the incredible woman who had stolen his heart.
And then, as if on cue, Ponyboy entered the kitchen, a furrow of concentration marring his brow as he pored over a math problem in his textbook. Sensing his frustration, you approached him, offering a reassuring smile. "Need a hand, Pony?" you asked, your voice gentle and encouraging.
Ponyboy looked up, relief flooding his features as he nodded. "Yeah, I just can't seem to figure this one out," he admitted sheepishly.
You leaned in closer, studying the problem with a furrowed brow of your own. "Ah, I see where you're getting tripped up. Let me show you a trick that might help," you offered, your voice a soothing melody in the quiet of the morning.
As you patiently explained the concept to Ponyboy, Darry felt that surge of pride and adoration. The way you broke down the problem into manageable steps, your voice soft and reassuring, spoke volumes about your patience and compassion. In that simple act of offering your help and guidance, Darry saw the depth of your kindness and the strength of your character. It wasn't just about helping Ponyboy with his math; it was about the genuine care and concern you showed for him, for all of them. As he watched you with a sense of awe, he knew deep within his soul that he wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of his life by your side, cherishing every moment, and building a future together filled with love and laughter.
As Soda finished his toast, grabbed his lunch, and prepared to head out the door, he leaned in close to Darry, his voice barely above a whisper amidst the morning bustle of the kitchen. "You know, big brother," he said, a mischievous glint dancing in his eyes, "we couldn't do it without her. You gotta marry her."
Darry blinked, momentarily taken aback by Soda's sudden seriousness. He met his brother's gaze, seeing the sincerity in his eyes mirrored by the weight of his words. For a moment, the playful banter faded, replaced by a shared understanding of just how much you meant to them all.
A swell of emotion rose within Darry, a mixture of gratitude, love, and a hint of apprehension at the thought of such a monumental step. But as he glanced back at you, effortlessly moving about the kitchen with a grace that never failed to astound him, he knew with a certainty that settled deep within his soul – Soda was right.
With a silent nod of acknowledgment to his brother, Darry watched as Soda headed out the door, his words lingering in the air like a gentle breeze. And as he turned back to you, a newfound sense of purpose filled his heart, a determination to show you just how much you meant to him, not just in words, but in deeds.
Amidst the chaos of their everyday lives, Darry knew that there was no one else he would rather spend the rest of his days with than you. And as he caught your eye, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips, he silently made a promise to himself – to cherish you, to protect you, and to love you with every fiber of his being, now and forever.
After Ponyboy left the kitchen to get ready for school, the room fell into a comfortable silence, leaving just the two of you alone. Darry's arms enveloped you, pulling you close in a tender embrace that spoke volumes of his love.
"I don't know what I'd do without you," Darry murmured, his voice soft with emotion as he pressed his forehead against yours.
You smiled, feeling the warmth of his breath against your skin. "You'd manage just fine," you replied, your voice barely above a whisper. "But I'm glad I can be here for you, for all of you."
Darry's gaze softened, his eyes reflecting the depth of his feelings. "You're more than just my girlfriend, Y/N," he whispered, his lips brushing against yours in a gentle caress. "You're my everything."
Tears welled in your eyes, overwhelmed by the intensity of his words. "And you're mine," you breathed, sealing your love with a soft kiss that spoke volumes of the bond you shared.
As you stood entwined in each other's arms, you knew that no matter what trials life threw your way, you would face them together, united in a love that knew no bounds. And as Darry pressed another tender kiss to your forehead, you silently vowed to cherish each moment with him for eternity, grateful beyond measure for the love that filled your heart.

The Proposal
As the evening sun painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, a sense of anticipation filled the Curtis household. Tonight, was no ordinary night – tonight, Darry had something special planned, and he had enlisted the help of Ponyboy, Soda, Two-Bit, and Steve to make it truly unforgettable.
Ponyboy, with his earnest enthusiasm, had insisted that you wear something special for the occasion. He had spent the afternoon rummaging through his meager wardrobe, determined to find the perfect accessory to complement your beauty. Finally, he emerged triumphantly with a delicate silver necklace that was his mothers, a small pendant shaped like a sun dangling from the chain. "I thought it would bring you luck," he said with a shy smile, his cheeks flushed with excitement.
Soda, ever the romantic, had taken it upon himself to choose the perfect spot for the proposal. He had spent hours scouting locations around town, searching for a place that was as beautiful and special as you deserved. Finally, he settled on a secluded spot by the river, where the water sparkled in the moonlight and the stars danced overhead. "Trust me, this is the perfect spot," he assured Darry with a grin, knowing that it would be a moment you would never forget.
Two-Bit and Steve, always up for a bit of mischief, had taken on the task of setting the scene. They had decorated the proposal spot with lights and candles, creating a magical ambiance that would set the stage for Darry's declaration of love. Two-Bit leaned in close to Darry, a mischievous twinkle in his eye as he surveyed their handiwork. "We wanted to make it extra special for you," he explained with a grin, his voice laced with excitement. "You know, to really sweep her off her feet." He nudged Darry playfully, knowing that their efforts would add an extra touch of romance to the evening, making it a moment that neither Darry nor you would ever forget.
As the clock struck seven, Darry took your hand in his, a nervous yet determined smile playing on his lips. Together, you began to walk, the soft glow of the evening sun casting long shadows on the pavement as you made your way towards the proposal spot not too far away.
With each step, Darry's mind drifted back to the memories you had shared together, the moments that had brought you to this point. He pointed out landmarks along the way, each one holding a special significance in your relationship.
"Do you remember the first time we walked this path together?" Darry asked softly, his voice filled with warmth as he squeezed your hand gently. "It feels like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?"
You smiled, the memories flooding back as you walked hand in hand with him. "I remember," you replied, your voice tinged with nostalgia. "It's where we shared our first kiss."
"Those were some of the best moments of my life," you continued, your voice soft and filled with nostalgia. "Just being with you, sharing our dreams under the stars... it's something I'll always cherish."
As you walked hand in hand, each step carrying you closer to the proposal spot where your future awaited, you couldn't help but feel a rush of gratitude for the man beside you. In his simple gestures and heartfelt words, you found a love that was pure and unwavering, a love that filled your heart with joy and anticipation for the journey ahead. And as the echoes of your laughter mingled with the evening breeze, you knew that this moment would be etched in your memories forever, a testament to the love that had brought you to this beautiful place.
As you reached the river, the soft glow of lights and the flickering of candles cast a romantic ambiance over the scene. Darry's heart pounded with nervous excitement; his palms slightly clammy as he took in the sight before him. With each step, the weight of the ring box in his pocket seemed to grow heavier, but the love and determination in his heart only strengthened.
Taking a deep breath to steady his nerves, Darry turned to you, his eyes alight with affection and anticipation. The gentle glow of the lights seemed to dance in his gaze as he reached for your hand, his touch sending a shiver of excitement down your spine.
"Y/N," he began, his voice filled with emotion, "from the moment I met you, you've brought so much light into my life. You've been my rock, my confidante, my everything." His words were like music to your ears, each syllable filled with the depth of his love for you.
Tears of joy welled in your eyes as you listened to his heartfelt confession, your heart swelling with love for the man standing before you. The love and support radiating from him and the familiar faces of Ponyboy, Soda, Two-Bit, and Steve filled you with a sense of warmth and comfort, making this moment even more special.
"And now," Darry continued, his voice trembling slightly as he dropped to one knee, presenting the ring box with a flourish, "I want to spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you've made me." His eyes never wavered from yours, his gaze unwavering in its sincerity. "Y/N, will you marry me?"
Your breath caught in your throat as you gazed into his eyes, feeling as if the world had stopped spinning just for this moment. The weight of his words hung in the air, charged with emotion and anticipation, as you searched for the right words to express the overwhelming love and happiness that filled your heart.
With a trembling voice and tears of joy streaming down your cheeks, you nodded emphatically, unable to find the words to convey the depth of your love for him. "Yes, Darry," you whispered, your voice barely above a whisper, "a thousand times yes. In every single lifetime it’s a yes."
A radiant smile broke across Darry's face as he slipped the ring onto your finger, sealing your love with a tender kiss. Cheers and applause erupted from your friends, the sounds of their excitement mingling with the beating of your hearts as you embraced, knowing that this moment would be etched in your memories forever as the beginning of your journey together as husband and wife.

won yourself a date
As my trip to Tulsa Oklahoma is getting closer and closer. WHY NOT POST SOME MORE OUTSIDERS CONTENT.
(My favorite character) Fighter! Darry Curtis x Reader
yea im switching it up and making AUs for mine and yalls entertainment.
Tumblr media
After his mother and father died he had to get a job quickly to keep the bills paid and his siblings feed. A friend of his, Dally, offered him an ‘underground job’ that would earn him enough money to pay bills. He isn't a bad fighter at all being a jock in high school gained him most of his experience in fighting. The fights mainly took place in the town next to Tulsa, with more room, and less familiar faces. Only Two-Bit and Dally knew about the fighting, sometimes they would even indulge in it, betting their money on fighters including Darry himself. The money was good but he needed a job to put on paper for taxes so the boys wouldn't be taken away. He got a second job roofing houses and that's how people saw him. Just a hard-working boy who was taking care of his siblings with a ‘well-paying’ job.
Your upbringing was much different. It wasn't uncommon to have alcoholic parents that only kept you around for personal benefits. But when you turned 18 you got out of that house, packed your bags, and ran around for two years. You settled down in Tulsa Oklahoma nearing the edge of town. Working during the mornings wasn't really your thing. you considered yourself a night owl so you searched for work that peaked at night. That's when you found the underground club with “help wanted” signs plastered outside by the entrance. Your boss David gave you the job after some flirting and flaunting. Your job was to walk across the ring with signs sexily, to get the crowd riled up. The job was good pay, and the tips were damn near plenty. You weren't expecting much out of this job except money and maybe a few hookups at most. It wasn't in your plans to meet him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
”I'm betting on you man. Don't fuck it up” Dally says flicking his cancer stick out of the passenger side window as they get closer to the building. Two-bit pushes himself between the two seats, from where he is sitting in the back of the truck. “Yea you better KO his ass Darry,” Two-Bit says chuckling as he punches Darrys shoulder. Darry glares at him through the mirror before turning his attention back toward the road. “Sit back Two. Aint trying to get pulled over now”. Two-bit just rolls his eyes at the man but still sits back at his request. Darry pulls around back hopping out of the truck and grabbing his bag from the backseat. It's loud like always people screaming, jumping, and fighting just to get to see the fighters before the big fight. Darry always gives the crowd an awkward hand wave before going off into his room to prepare for the fight. Two-bit and Dally don't do much other than collect the money people have bet on him, and talk to girls they find. Darry on the other hand doesn't really indulge in that, other than the occasional small talk, but that normally has Darry walk away from them. The girl's small talk isn't really small talk, all they want to do is bed him.
Darry steps out of his room with his silk robe on covering his bare chest and muscles, he steps into the ring sitting on the stool in his designated corner. This fight will get him a lot of money if he wins. People have been looking forwards to this fight for weeks because of the known history between Darry Curtis and Paul Holden. And today's the fight of the year, rematches are normal but the first fight is the most important. You walked out of your dressing room in a similar fashion, a robe wrapped around your body covering your exposed skin. Obviously, you aren't top-less but some would say the wardrobe provided to you could be considered, ‘half naked’.  You walk to the side of the ring no one batting an eye at you till you rid yourself of the robe. You lean down and grab the first board, you slip it under the ropes before climbing into the ring. Everyone is preoccupied with their own stuff not noticing you until you rid yourself of the robe, throwing it over the ropes. Your heels click on the floor as you walk to the middle of the stage, the sign now sitting by your feet waiting to be held up. Rhythmic music starts to play and somehow the crowd gets even louder when the spotlight hits you, signaling the start of the show. You swing your hips looking around before announcing names. “Everyone please give it up for... Darrrryyy Curtisssss”. The crowd roars when you announce his name, he stands up taking off his robe and rolling his shoulders back while looking at you. You nod at him and then turn your gaze back to the audience to announce his opponent, “And going against Curtis we have, Paaauuulll Holdeeeennnn”. The crowd reacts in the same manner when Paul stands up but unlike Darry, he drinks in the praise for the crowd throwing his hands up. He turns towards you clicking his tongue and sending you a wink before jumping up and down ready for the bell.
You bend over to pick up the sign at your feet, you hear a wolf whistle from a few men in the crowd and from Paul in the corner. You lift the sign above your head before striding across the ring and exiting from under the ropes. There are 11 rounds in big fights such as this one. You really pay no mind to the fights until the three-minute timer is up and you have to get back in and show the next round. In the fifth round, you strut onto the stage in a new wardrobe swaying your hips again for dramatic effect. You walk with the sign above your head to Holden's corner, muttering “good luck” to him before moving to Curtis’s side.  You wish him “good luck” in the same manner glancing over at the other two men in his corner staring you down. “You want to catch a movie sometime doll?” Dally says confidently his arms slung over the ropes behind Darry. “Sorry sweetheart, your not my type,” you say maneuvering between the ropes again before sitting down. Darry and Two-Bit snicker at Dally’s confidence that flattered after being turned down so quickly. The match passes by like normal, one guy getting the upper hand while the other guards. The tenth and eleventh matches normally prove who the winner is.  But neither of the men fighting are looking too great. Darry has a busted lip and discoloration along his abdomen. Paul has a black eye but nothing too bad on his face, you can tell he let his guard down because of the red on his ribs. People on both corners are looking a little jittery for these next two fights, but the most you can do is walk the sign across the stage and wish them the best. You walk across the stage holding the number “11″ above your head before making the last announcement. “They are all tied up. This is the winning round boys” the crowd screams when Paul stands up and bangs against his chest for dramatic effect.
Fights are flying, along with spit when one of them lands a blow. Paul got the upper hand nearing the middle of the 3-minute round. Darry is keeping his guard up with the encouragement of his friends but they are also urging him to make a breakthrough. And that's up Darry did, he dunks out from under Paul’s swing throwing him off guard. That was the end of the fight, Darrel Curtis knocks him out a won the ungodly amount of cash. You step back into the middle of the ring again for the last time for the night. You grab Darry’s hand and throw it up in the air declaring his victory, he lets a small smile slip at this motion. You pat him on the back after letting go of his hand and slipping through the ropes to walk away to your dressing room.
You hear quick feet head towards you and a small push from behind you. You turn towards the man whose mouth is open as if he was interrupted before being able to speak. Darry looks at you examining your features, “You looked great up there tonight”. Your tongue swipes across your bottom lip and your eyes narrow at the man trying to figure out his true intentions in talking to you. You rest your hand on your hip, “thank you. I could say the same for you” you say to him giving him a polite smile. “Ahhh thank you. Would you like to get some dinner sometime soon?” Darry says shooting you an award-winning smile looking nowhere but your face. You lean to the side a little to look over his shoulder at his friends for a reaction, a giveaway that this is some kind of joke. Though the pair looks just as surprised as you are at the confrontation. You turn your attention back to Darry sweat rolling down his face, “yea ok dinner sounds nice”. You exchange numbers before parting ways, but Dally throwing his arms up in disbelief was something else. Dally looks at you again confused, you just blow him a kiss before walking off laughing at the boys.

"Thanks again for walking me home Dare, I appreciate it." You spoke softly with a shy smile. Your heart was pounding so heavily you thought he might be able to hear it.
He looked at you with a grin, his hands shoved in his jacket pockets. "Don't worry about it. I hate the idea of you walking home so late anyways."
"It's not so bad, as long as those jerks from the west-side leave me alone." You said with a soft, half-amused laugh.
"They bother you?" You noted a hint of anger in his voice as he spoke.
You shrugged. "Mostly they just catcall me, ask why I hang out with greasers and not "real men"" You rolled your eyes.
"And what do you say back to them?"
You smiled "I tell them to let me know when they find any."
Darry chuckled shook his head. "Just be careful, you know how bad some of them can be."
"Yeah I know." You nodded, thinking back on a few years back when Johnny got cut up by some.
You felt your heart jolt when the sound of a roaring engine sounded from down the street. You got a bad gut feeling and looked back into the darkness of the street behind you.
Darry looked back, noting your sudden discomfort. "It's alright, I think it was a few streets over." He said softly.
You nodded and smiled lightly at him, but took a step closer to him. You felt safer the closer you were to him. Darry smiled at this, noting how his heart thumped when your shoulder brushed his arm.
You walked in a comfortable silence for a few moments, before you heard the sound of approaching footsteps. You came to a stop when you saw some figures come out of a street in front of you. For a moment you thought it was maybe Two-Bit, Soda and Steve, but when a familiar whistle sounded from the darkness, you stopped in your tracks.
Three soc's you recognized stepped into the light under a streetlamp. The one in the front, who you knew was called Tommy grinned at you. "I thought I recognized you Y/n. Hard to tell out here in the dark."
You felt a shiver run up your spine, but it faded when you felt Darry rest his hand on your back.
"Who's this? Your greaser boyfriend?" Tommy asked, as he eyed Darry.
You looked from Tommy to Darry, wondering how he couldn't know who Darry was. Tommy was fairly new to town, but surely he knew who Darrel Curtis was. But you noted that you and Darry were shrouded in darkness, maybe he couldn't see him fully.
"Hey Tommy, I think that's-" A soc from behind tried to warn Tommy, but was cut off by a raise of Tommy's hand.
"I'm sure I can show you a much better time than this hood rat." He sneered as he took a step forward.
"Yeah right." You said with a glare.
"I think it's time you boys went home don't you think?" Darry warned, his voice low.
Tommy simply scoffed, laughing at him. "I'll decide when I go. And I think-" He paused as his eyes shifted to you. "I'll go when I get what I came for."
Suddenly Tommy lunged forward, reaching out and grabbing you with a laugh. "Back off!" You yelled out as you stomped you foot down directly onto his.
"Hey!" He yelled in anger before he stumbled back as Darry pushed him.
"Back off! I'm warning you!" Darry yelled.
"Yeah? And I'm warning you." Tommy sneered as he pulled out his switch-blade.
Reaching over, you grabbed Darry's arm, your heart racing in panic.
The two other soc's stood behind Tommy with worried looks on their faces, as they looked nervously at you and Darry. Obviously they, unlike Tommy, knew who they were threatening.
"Tommy, come on, lets go." One of the soc's said.
"We'll go when I say!" He yelled back at them. "I gotta teach these two greaser rats who they're messing with."
Suddenly, Tommy lunged towards Darry with the blade. You gasped as Darry rushed in front of you. You watched, frozen in place, as they grappled for a moment, before you heard the clinking of the blade hitting the ground.
Darry swung out, hitting Tommy directly across the face, making him stagger back. Tommy began to retaliate, but you saw him hesitate for a moment as Darry stepped into the street light. Now he recognized him.
The other soc's grabbed Tommy and pulled him back, whispering panicked words in his ear. Tommy grabbed his knife but stayed back. "I'm not done with you two!" He said with a hoarse voice. A threat you knew to be empty as he and the other soc's ran back down the street they came from.
You let out a ragged breath as you reached for Darry. "Darry are you alright?"
He nodded his head. "Yeah, let's just get you home." Reaching back, he took your hand in his as you began to rush down the street, towards you home.
"Idiots." You said in an angered whisper. "What were they even doing out here anyways?" You asked.
"I think he was looking for you." Darry said, his voice laced with anger. "I'm definitely not letting you walk home alone after this." He said in a slightly softer tone, making heat rise up your neck and ears.
After rushing down a few more blocks, you stopped for a moment, panting, trying to catch your breath. Darry looked at you and gently tugged at your hand. "Are you alright?"
Looking at him, you took a deep breath and nodded. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, you stepped forward and hugged him. "Thank you Darry. I don't know what would have happened if you weren't there."
Pulling away, he smiled down at you. "I'll always be here when you need me."
You smiled, feeling yourself melt with the way he smiled at you. Forcing yourself to look away, you looked around, noting you were still pretty far from your house.
"Wait." You said, as you looked around. "If we got this way we'll get their quicker." You said, point to a nearby street.
"Alright." Darry said as he began to walk forward. Suddenly staggering, he let out a light hiss as his face curled with pain.
"Darry?" You asked, concern lacing your voice.
"I'm alright." He said with a strained voice, as he tried to walk again, before his legs seemed to give out.
"Darry." You whispered as you leaned down. As Darry fell to his knees you grabbed him to hold him up. Looking closer, you saw he had his hand on his stomach, from between his fingers, you saw blood seeping through.
"Oh God, Darry!" You said with panic as you looked around. Seeing a nearby phone booth, you made Darry sit down. "Keep pressure on it alright? I'm gonna go call an ambulance!"
After calling 911 you rushed back to Darry, finding him lying on his back, his eyes still open as he stared up at the sky. You knelt down beside him, placing your hand on top of his and pressing down.
He let out a soft groan. "I'm sorry, but you gotta keep pressure on it."
You weren't aware you were crying until a tear fell from your face and landed on Darry's cheek. You wiped your face and he looked up at you.
"Hey, don't cry." He said softly. "It's alright"
You shook your head. "I got you stabbed Dare." Tears were now streaming down your face.
"No, no." He shook his head. "This isn't your fault Y/n, don't you dare think that."
You shook your head as you looked down at his side. Your hands were warm and wet with his blood. You let out a soft sob as you gripping his hand. Hearing sirens nearby you looked back at Darry. "They're almost here, you just have to stay awake okay? For me?"
You saw the ghost of a smile cross his face as his eye fluttered. "Anything for you." He said softly, his voice a whisper.
You brushed his hair from his face as the ambulance grew closer. Darry kept his eyes open and locked them on yours. Keeping the there until the paramedics came to your side, moving you from his view.
You stood nearby, watching them, tears still drenching your face. Looking down at your hands, you noted the blood and felt you gut twist.
Hearing yells from nearby, you looked across the road to see a group of people walking closer. You felt your chest tighten as you saw Soda, Pony, Two-Bit and Steve walking up.
When they spotted you, their faces changed from curiosity to horror as they ran towards you. Running towards them you held your hands out, forgetting the blood covering them. "Stay back guys!"
They stared at your hands in horror. "Who's blood is that Y/n? Are you hurt?" Pony asked as he reached for you.
A sudden sob escaped you as you shook your head. Pony looked over your shoulder, and you saw his face change from worry to terror. "Darry?" Pony said his voice soft.
"What?" Soda asked as he pushed past Pony. "Darry!" He yelled out.
You tried to keep them back, but they rushed towards the ambulance as they began to put Darry inside. You watched with dejection and guilt as they were held back by the police.
"What happened?" Two-Bit asked as he came back up to you.
You shook your head and spoke with anger. "A group of stupid soc's. They were after me." You felt another sob escape you. The others looked back at you when they heard that. "He got hurt protecting me." You said as you looked at Pony and Soda.
They could see the guilt and pain in your eyes and stepped towards you. "It's alright Y/n, it's not your fault." Pony said, wiping his own tears.
"But it is. I'm sorry." You said as you shook your head.
Soda grabbed you, pulling you into a hug as he started consoling you but you heard nothing. You were too overwhelmed with your own thoughts to think of anything else.
-----
Darry winced as he opened his eyes, the hospital lights shining down on him. He tried to sit up, but groaned as a pain pulsed through his abdomen. Letting out a sigh, he took hold of his surroundings. The steady beeping of a machine beside him. The firm hospital bed underneath him.
Looking around, his eyes caught on something in the corner of the room at the head of his bed. Craneing his neck, he saw you, curled up in a chair, asleep.
Darry smiled softly at the sight before the memories of what happened flashed through his mind. Looking closer at you, he saw you had a bag at the side of the chair, multiple books on the table beside you. And the trash can nearby was full of wrappers and trays. How long had you been here? How long had he been here?
Turning, he pushed himself up into a sitting position, letting out a hiss of pain. Hearing shuffling beside him, he looked back over to see you sitting up, your eyes watching him carefully.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." He said softly.
Rising from your seat, you were by his side in a second. He could see the worry in your eyes, but the smile that spread across your face told him all he needed to know. "You're awake. Are you okay? Do you need me to call the nurse?"
He shook his head. "No, I'm alright. I feel okay."
You let out a breath as you sat on the edge of his bed. You began to fidget nervously with your hand. "The others have been in and out to see you. They wanted to stay but I made them go to work, and made Pony go to class, I know you wouldn't want them to skip out."
Darry smiled. "Thank you Y/n. How long have I been here?"
"Two days."
Darry nodded his head. "Tommy got arrested, after I told the cops what happened. Hell he even admitted to it." You let out a soft humorless laugh.
"Are you okay?" Darry asked as he reached over, placing his hand on yours to stop you from fidgeting.
You met his eyes. "You're the one who got stabbed Darrel."
He smiled softly. "Yeah, but I got a feeling you're the one who's hoarding all the guilt for it."
You looked down at your hand, now covered by his. "Why didn't you tell me he stabbed you? We should have gotten help immediately, not ran around half the town."
Darry shrugged slightly. "I wanted to get you home so that you were safe."
You stared at him for a moment, your face blank. "Well, you're an idiot you know that?"
He let out a soft laugh "I am entirely aware, yes."
You smiled for a moment before it faded, and you shook your head. "I'm sorry Darry. We shouldn't have been out there at all."
"Hey- hey" He said gripping your hand. "Don't. This was not your fault. It's Tommy's for getting all gung-ho with that switchblade. Now look at me." Slowly, you met his eyes. "Hell, it's more my fault than it is yours. Not that I regret what I did. I didn't know what they would have done to you, and I sure as hell wasn't gonna find out. I would have done whatever I needed to to keep you safe, I love you, and I need you to be safe. That's all that mattered to me, you were all that mattered to me."
Darry watched as your face changed from guilt-ridden, to shy, to surprised.
You opened your mouth and spoke hesitantly. "You...love me?"
Darry was silent for a moment as panic rushed through him. He spoke so fast he didn't think about what he was saying. Not that it was a lie, it wasn't, but this wasn't how he was planning on saying it. But at least it was finally said.
He took in a breath and smiled at you. "Yes, Y/n, I love you. I think I have since the moment we met."
You swallowed and took in a shaky breath. "I didn't know. I mean, I- I never thought you would see me like...that. That you could ever...love me."
"Why not?" He asked in a whisper.
You met his eyes and let out a soft laugh. "I- I don't know. I just thought I wasn't your type I guess."
He smiled pulling your hands closer to him. "You could never compare to anyone else Y/n. And I'd get stabbed a thousand times to prove it."
You let out an alarmed chuckled. "Please don't."
He chuckled, "Well alright, if you insist."
"I do. I definitely do."
His grin faltered a moment as his eyes landed on your lips. "There is something you could do for me."
You sat up a little straighter, wondering if he needed a nurse, or water, food maybe. "Anything."
Moving his hand up your arm, he began to pull you slowly towards him. You felt your heart pick up speed as your face grew hot.
Stopping a few inches from his face, he spoke softly. "Kiss me."
You felt as though your whole body was on fire, as butterflies rampaged through your stomach. Holding your breath, you slowly leaned in, hovering or just a moment before the two of you met in a kiss. His hand left your arm and cupped your face, his other hand taking yours and squeezing.
Hearing a familiar chorus of voices down the hall, making there way towards the room, you pulled slowly away from each other. Your eyes stayed locked, as you both smiled at each other, a silent understanding between you. This was the beginning of something wonderful.
xx End xx.

“Darrel, right? I’m Y/n,”
“Yeah, you ready for me to show you around?” Darrel asked, Y/n nodded curtly, showing him a shy smile. “I can show you the library firs-”
“Darry!!” a young voice calls from down the hall, the two turn to see a small boy running towards them, “Soda you know you’re supposed to be at recess right now,” Darry scolded him. “I came inside to go to the bathroom and I saw you. I wanted to give you a hug,” the boy whined, reaching his arms out to him.
Darry sighed before reluctantly opening his arms for him, Soda accepted the invite and jumped into his arms. The young boy squeezed the crap out of him, Darry having to peel him back off of him.
“Okay okay, you need to head back to recess. I have to do something right now,” the older brother said, Soda looked over at Y/n. He looked her up and down before turning back to Darry.
“Oh I see what’s going on,” he said. Y/n and Darry shared a look. Soda turned around to walk back to recess, “Trynna avoid me so he can hang out with his girlfriend,” he said, rolling his eyes.
Darrel was floored, his jaw on the floor in shock. Y/n giggled.
“S-s’rry ‘bout that, I don’t know where he got that from,” Darry said, clearly embarrassed. “It’s ok Darell, I thought it was cute,”
Darry shoved what his brother said to the back of his head, and continued his tour. Y/n trailed next to him, taking in the conversation, and the details of the boy. Like how when the sun is in his eyes, there’s more green than blue.
“That’s everything,” Darry said, breaking Y/n from her trance, “Do ya’ have any questions?”.
“Nope, thanks Darrel,” Y/n smiled,
“Call me Darry, everyone else does,” The two smiled at eachother, before heading back to class.
Present
“Y/n! Thank you for coming!”
“No problem Mrs. Phoebe! Thank you for hiring me for the job,” Y/n smiled as she walked into the lady’s house. “So which dress is it that you wanted me to alter?” Y/n asked, “This one right over here,” Mrs. Phoebe led her over to the long emerald green dress draped over her dining room table.
“Oh my, its stunning!” Y/n gasped, the morning sun hitting the sleek fabric just right. “I got a few months back, but its too loose at the waist. I need it by thursday for an event,”.
Mrs. Phoebe lived on the west side of town, so there were many charity events she attended with her husband. Y/n admitted that she wished that she were like her, she would love to afford such a nice house, go to formal events every week, and not have to worry about whether the gang is getting jumped at all. But she did love her life, the boys added such a spice to her world, and she wouldn’t know what she would do without them.
“It’s no problem Mrs. Phoebe, I can get it back to you by tomorrow,” Y/n smiled,
“You are a lifesaver dear,” Mrs. Phoebe exclaimed, “Say, how have you and Darell been? I saw you two on a stroll together last week,”.
“We’re not together if that’s what you’re asking,” Y/n sighed. “Yet.” Mrs. Phoebe said, “My husband took years to finally admit his feelings towards me, and if I know anything, I know Darell looks at you the same way my husband did to me,” Mrs. Phoebe smiled gently towards her. Y/n’s face flushed. “I better get going Miss, I-I still have your measurements from last time,” Y/n gently picked up the dress and folded it into her bag. “Have a good rest of your day dear!” Mrs. Phoebe said, winking as Y/n left the house.
-
Y/n walked her way to her house. She had finished her shift and her study session with Cherry. The session was extremely productive, Cherry had picked up on every tip to help her with her upcoming midterms. Y/n’s heels clicked against the sidewalk, her old blue house coming into view.
Shoes tapping against the fron steps, she could see through the screen door that there were two extra pairs of shoes in the entry.
“I’m home!” she yelled out, slipping off her shoes as well. She could hear the soft sound of cartoon music, the noise getting louder as she walked to the living room. A head of brunette and a mop of jet black hair sat on her couch. “Dally, Johnny, how long have you guys been here?” she asked, leaning over the couch to see them. “Not long Ma, just ‘bout an hour or so,” Dally said, eyes still glued to the TV. Johnny however, looked up to greet Y/n. “How was yer day Ma?” he asked softly.
“Good, thanks for asking. I have a quick fix-up for a dress I have to do, so I won’t be here for long,” she said, giving him a smile. Her hands pushed her up and she started walking to her bedroom. “I made cookies last night, feel free to eat as many as you want,” she yelled out, opening her bedroom door and closing it behind her.
As she predicted, the dress fixup was simple. The only task required was to take in the waist. A few minutes later, she was done. Y/n packed up her stuff, grabbed a sweater, and started to head out. Not before saying goodbye to Dally and Johnny beforehand. “I’ll be at the Curtis’s to make dinner, so stop by if you need anything,” She said, finally getting Dally to look over, along with Johnny. Y/n noticed the blue bruise on the side of Dally’s face. “Dally did you get into another fight?” she scolded, reaching out the touch his face.
Dally allowed her to do so. “Yeah, that damn soc got what he deserved,” he said, “Stupid socs think that they own us,”. Y/n accidentally hit the sore spot on the bruise, Dally flinched and pushed her hand off of his face. “I’m fine Ma, don’t worry about me,”. Y/n sighed, “Just try to be more careful, okay? You just got out from the cooler,”.  “Yeah yeah, I’ll be fine,” Dally said, moving his eyes back to the TV.
-
Darry brought his hand up to wipe the sweat dripping from his forehead. He sat on top of a roof he was reshingling, the sun had been beating down on him relentlessly for the last four hours he had been working.
Hands calloused, sweat soaking his shirt to his torso and chest leaving little to the imagination. Darry was proud of his build he had accomplished from years of hard work. He knew the effect he had on women, he noticed the looks they sent him, no matter how subtle they try to be. Nothing compares to when Y/n’s eyes are on him though, sometimes he stretches a certain way while he knows she’s looking at him. Through all the work the two of them have, and looking after the gang, he hasn’t found the time to tell her how he feels.
“Almost done,” He said to himself, breaking out of his thoughts.
-
Y/n swung the Curtis’s door open and let herself in. She swung by the grocery store to grab some veggies since lord knows that there isn’t any in the fridge here. Checking the clock in the kitchen she noted she had a few hours till Soda got home. He was always the one home first, but with him would be Steve and most likely a few others.
Scouring through the cupboards, she grabbed a cutting board, a pot, and a knife and got to work cutting. The chopped veggies were tossed into the pot where they gonna get cooked down. Y/n stepped out of the kitchen to toss on a record and tie up her hair. Flipping through their collection she decided on a Beatles album she’d been able to sneak in. Yeah yeah, the boys thought the Beatles weren’t tuff enough, Y/n adored them. Especially that George.
Swaying to the music, she went back to her cooking. Y/n heard the door open and close. “I’m home,”, “Hi Darrel,” She responded, opening up the spice cabinet and searching for the bay leaves. Her eyes scanned the bottles until she found what she needed. Only thing is that it’s on the top shelf. ‘No problem’ Y/n thought as she reached as high as she would to try and reach it.
“Here Ma, I got it,” Darry said, reaching over her. Y/n could feel the heat from his day radiating from him as his body leaned against her, his large chest pushing against her back.
“Bay Leaves?” he asked. “Y-yeah Darry,” she said, face starting to flush.
“Here you are,” Darry said, his body pulling away from hers, placing the bottle in her palm. “Thanks Darrel,” Y/n says smiling up at him, face still pink. Darry smiles back at her, admiring her lovely smile. “No problem, Y/n,” he says, turning back to change out of his work clothes.
Y/n leans against the counter and inhales a deep breath, processing what just transpired. My, did Darry have a toned body. Y/n shook her head and stared into the pot, watching the veggies bubble as the butter sizzles beneath them.
Realizing the the rest of the gang is coming back soon, she grabs a pan from under the stove and starts on the chicken, rubbing in the appropriate spices and laying them into the now heated pan.
-
Darry walks down the hall and back to the kitchen after changing into more comfy clothes. He leans against the wall and crosses his arms, admiring the beauty in front of him. He watches her focused eyes as she flips the chicken breast over and stirs whatevers in the pot. “Whatcha cookin’ Ma?” Darry asks, moving to lean against the counter next to her. “Chicken soup,” she responds, briefly looking up at him, then back down to the food. “How was your day Dar?” Y/n asks. Darry looks up, thinking of how to respond.
“Hot.” he says, staring at his burnt arms and are still hot from the sun. Y/n chuckles a bit, “I bet. I wasn’t even moving around that much and I was working up a sweat,” she jokes, leaning on the counter next to him. “How about you Ma?” Darry asks, “How was your day?”.
“It was okay, I didn’t do anything special,” Y/n says, sighing. The two fell into a comfortable silence. The only sounds in the room being the sizzling of food and the chirps of birds outside.
-
“Ma! Whatcha cooking? It smells amazing,” Soda yells, opening the door. “Chicken soup!” Y/n yells back, stirring the pot. She heard a few sets of feet following Soda’s. “Hey can one of ya’ll flip the record?” Y/n called out.
Johnnie walked over to the record player and stared at the record. Steve looked over his shoulders to check the album. “Ah, Ma! What’s this trash?” Steve yelled out grabbing the record sleeve. “The Beatles?!” Soda groaned.
Y/n chuckled as she turned around to face the gang, “Yeah I love them,” she shrugged, still smiling at them. “We gotta get this trash outta here,” Two-Bit said, grabbing the album.
“Alright boys lets calm down,” Darry calls out, swiping the record from Two-Bit. “If Ma likes the Beatles, she’s allowed to listen to ‘em,”.
The boys groaned, walking over to the sitting area and plopping down. “When’s dinner done?” Soda asked, lighting a weed. Y/n took a look at the pot, “Mmmm, almost done. But no eating till Pony gets home,” she said firmly. Another round of groans hit her ears.
-
“I’m home!” Pony yelled at he slipped his shoes off and set his bag down. “Finally!” he heard Steve yell, then a large hoard running to the kitchen. “Okay, okay. One at a time boys,” Y/n said, handing each boy a bowl.
“Ma what’d you make? It smells great,” Pony comments walking over to the rest of the gang. “Chicken soup! You’re favorite,” Y/n winked, handing him a bowl.
Various ‘thank you’s’ filled the room as the boys walked back to the living room. “How was your day Pony?” Y/n asked, filling up a bowl for Darry. “It was ok. Math’s gettin’ tougher, but it’s not too bad yet.” Pony said. Y/n nodded, “Well you’re a very smart boy, I know you’ll be able to get through it,” Y/n said, patting his shoulder. Pony shyly smiled at her, “The soup’s real good Ma,” he said. “Thank you Ponyboy,” Y/n smiled, handing the bowl to Darry.
-
After all the boys finished up, Y/n flipped on another Beatles record, ignoring the groans of protest from the gang. ‘Twist and Shout’ came on and she excitedly turned around, eyeing Soda. “Soda, do you know how to dance?” she asked, smiling widely. “No, but you can definitely teach me,” he said, jumping up. Y/n laughed as she grabbed his hands. Soda twirled her around as the boys whooped and hollered. The two of them danced around hand in hand, unable to stop laughing.
Y/n looked around and made eye contact with Ponyboy. “I think Ponyboy wants a turn,” Y/n said as she pulled away from Soda. Soda laughed and sat back down next to Steve. “C’mon Pony,” Y/n smiled, grabbing his hands. Pony groaned, but let out a shy smile. “We can square dance,” Y/n smiled. “C’mon Ma,” Pony sighed, reluctantly putting his hands on her waist.
‘And I Love Her’ came on, and the two swayed back and forth. “Come on Pony, twirl the lady!” Two-Bit called out, the boys laughing at the two of them. Pony stiffly lifted his arm and twirled Y/n around. Y/n laughed loudly as Darry pulled her away.
“Alright alright, calm down everybody,” he said. Darry looked at Pony, “Don’t you have homework to do?” he asked sternly. Pony looked down, “Yeah,”. “Then get to it kid,” Darry said, watching him grab his bag then head to his and Soda’s room.
Y/n slapped Darry’s chest lightly. “Let the boy have some fun Dar,” she said, “He’s a good boy, he deserves to take a break every once and awhile,”. Y/n shook her head and pulled away from him.
“Ooooooo,” the boys whooped, laughing at him. “Shut up,” Darry mumbled. Walking over to Y/n.

Papa Bear Dar(ry)
Summary: Not only are you at the end of your pregnancy, but you’re also at your wit's end with Darry’s overprotective nerves. Pairing: Darry Curtis x Reader Warnings: Pregnancy talk
A/N: This request took much longer than I intended, but here it is
Tumblr media
“Whatcha doing?” Ponyboy asks curiously as you look through the storage closet. “Trying to find the holiday decorations. “But it’s only November.” He points out. “And it takes two weeks to get the stupid lights untangled since nobody ever stores them properly.” You huff; you’re so deep in the closet looking past the various clothes and crap-filled boxes, you miss the sound of Darry’s truck pulling up.
“Why aren’t you helpin’ out?” Darry questions as soon as he walks into the house, looking at the guys scattered around the living and dining room. “She didn’t ask us to help.” Two-Bit answers. “And she doesn’t need our help.” Dallas adds. “Of course she does.” Darry scolds. “She is right here in earshot.” You butt in, stepping out of the closet with one of the boxes and giving your husband a look. “I don’t need their help, Darry. I’m perfectly capable of getting the decorations out.” "You’re having a baby in a week. Your doctor said you need to be on total bed rest. And I know he also said no heavy lifting.” He says, taking the box of lights out of your hands and setting it on the floor. “The neighborhood stray weighs more than that box.” You mutter with an annoyed huff.
“The doctor said you shouldn’t be doin’ much of anything, you need to get off your feet. At least sit on the couch.” Darry tries to reason. “I’m perfectly capable of walking around and doing things, Darrel. I’ll have time to rest when I spend a week in the hospital.” You say firmly. Steve snickered quietly and mumbles “someone’s in trouble.” “No one is in trouble.” Darry tells him. “She called you ‘Darrel’, you are definitely in trouble.” Two-Bit points out. “I am not.” Darry scoffs. “You will be if you try to make me get back in bed.” You warn.
“I can’t wait for this baby to get here. You’re gonna lose your mind doing everything, Darry.” Sodapop says with a laugh. “Superdope already went nuts baby proofing the entire house.” Steve mutters with a laugh. “Well, excuse me for not wanting my baby to get hurt.” Darry grumbled sarcastically. “All you did was make it impossible to open the toilet when we’re drunk!” Two-Bit jokingly shouts. “Consider it a wake-up call.” Darry counters without missing a beat. “Absolutely not.” Two-Bit scoffs.
You watch them go back and forth for a few minutes before trying to pull Darry onto the porch, an attempt that yields no results when he doesn’t move an inch until you ask him to. “No eavesdropping!” You warn them before closing the front door behind you. “I’m just tryin’ to keep you from overdoin’ it.” He tells you. “I know you have good intentions, Darry, but I’m already home all the time now, and I can’t stay in bed all day. I’m going stir-crazy! You need to let me do things and trust that I won’t get hurt-I’m not some infirm old lady who’s gonna break at any minute. I’ll be okay. We’ve still got plenty of time before anything else happens.” You explain, continuing “I know you’re nervous about this, I am too, but keeping me bedridden isn’t gonna do anyone any good. I’ll already have to stay in the hospital for a week. I’m trying to do things while I can before I’m too tired or stressed. So please, will you stop being such an overbearing, overprotective papa bear?” You plead. “Alright, darling, I’ll try to back off.” He promises. “Thanks, hon.” You smile, giving him a quick kiss.
“Little one’s doing okay, though, right?” He asks nervously. “We’re both completely fine, Darry.” You reassure him with a grin. The two of you headed back inside and, with his help, you took a seat on the floor to begin the long, frustrating process of untangling the string lights. “I’ve been thinking more about names, Dar.” You hum quietly, messing with your lights. “What do you think about Elena or Eilene for a girl?” You ask. “Elena Curtis, Eilene Curtis; I think they both have a nice ring to it.” He says with a smile. “We still don’t have a boy’s name figured out.” He points out. “Because everyone here wants the baby named after them.” “Except me.” Two-Bit says with a grin. “I don’t want any other kid being punished with the name Keith.” He grumbles. “We know, Two-Bit.” You and Darry say simultaneously. “I still think we should name a boy after you and your dad.” You add. “I don’t know, Darrel Shaynne Curtis, III sounds... intense.” He says thoughtfully. “Well, we have about a week to figure this out.”
“I still think it’s a girl.” He hums, put a hand on your bump with a grin. “Feels like a girl to me,” he jokes. “It feels like a five-pound weight sitting on my bladder.” You grumble. “Speaking of; help me up, Dar?” You ask with a small pout. “Sure, darlin’.” He beams, hopping up and gently pulling you up to your feet. “Thanks, baby.”
