#Hyrule x reader

I was wondering if you could do something with reader yeeting a weighted blanket at the chain and their reactions? I got reminded of that weighted blanket trend and thought it’d be funny
A/N:HAHAHA ABSOLUTELY OMG this ask made me actually laugh out loud😭 I have a weighted blanket I use sometimes bc it helps with chronic pain(I have arthritis) and anxiety and such—also I’ve always wanted to do that trend w someone but I’ve been to scared bc I don’t wanna hurt anybody :( anyway enjoy!
The chain and a weighted blanket!
(For simplicity’s sake, we’ll say they have weighted blankets in Hyrule lol)
Tumblr media
Time:
Is a bit confused with the initial throw(I’d be struggling if I tried tbh) like—why is a blanket being thrown on him, but once it hits him, he stumbles back with a groan and a laugh
“What’s wrong with this thing, great goddesses!”
Totally thinks it’s funny
Will be buying a weighted blanket as soon as possible to get Malon with it…also just cause it feels nice.
Twilight:
Catches it
“Hylia, this is heavy, why is this blanket heavy???”
When you(albeit shocked, cause how did he freaking catch it) explain to him that it has sand(?) in it, and what it can be used for, he’s pleasantly surprised.
“Oh wow! Who would’ve thought of such a thing!”
He accompanies you to go get Wild with it.
Wild:
Body folds like a lawn chair
“OGH-“ and a thunk on the ground 💀
But he’s laughing!
Pokes his head out and just kinda lays there. Twilight’s cackling his head off behind you.
“Why?” He asks with a laugh and you just
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Funny is funny, and it’s nice to have a few pranks here and there, both to keep you on your toes and have a laugh.
Sky:
Also folds like a lawn chair
Except he doesn’t like his head out like wild. When there’s no movement and you peek under, he’s asleep
Mans can fall asleep anywhere anytime in a short amount of time. Sleeping is like second nature to him.
“Sky???”
Nothing. Dead silence. You’re actually beginning to wonder if it knocked him out, but no. He’s snoring, and seems perfectly fine. It’s just comfy and he decided it was time to honk his shoos. Go night night for a bit.
Wars:
You throw it at him from behind and he stumbles forward into the stump he was using as a table for planning their next route.
“Agh! Hey!!!”
Was originally upset but when he saw how hard you were laughing, he can’t seem to make himself stay mad
You were too cute, and far too happy. He didn’t want to ruin that.. and it was a little funny
“Alright Alright, You’ve had your fun…. Now go get the vet.” He said with a soft smile. The effect you had on these boys was remarkable
Legend:
Get ready to run, and run fast
Yeah—he’s… pretty much the only one that didn’t take it well.
You threw it on him and he fell forward and cursed
“Y/n what gives?!”
Though when he saw how upset his yelling made you, he softened.
“It was just a joke, I didn’t mean—“
“No. It’s whatever.” He drops the blanket to the ground with a thud and crossed his arms. “It’s fine. Stop looking like that, though. All…sad. You look like a wet dog… or wet blanket, more appropriately..”
That made you crack a smile, and he huffed and rolled his eyes, the corners of his mouth turning up as he turned away.
You can’t figure out if he said the pun with the intention of making you laugh or not, but it worked. (Spoiler alert, yes he did. He’s a softie whether he likes it or not and he has a particular soft spot for you.)
(Totally got the blanket to sleep under it for comfort, but if you told anyone or asked him about it he’d deny everything.)
Hyrule:
“AAH!” He yelled as he flew forward when you threw it on his back.
He’s laughing, which is good.
Like time, he just laughs and holds it out to you, only he’s doing it with a touch of struggle to keep his arms out until you take it.
“That’s so heavy! What the heck! How did it get like that???”
After a long winded explanation, he really likes it!
Definitely asks for it one night, especially after a particularly rough battle.
Four:
Like Wars, he’s a bit upset but laughs it off, because at the end of the day, it is funny
Just make sure to pay attention to when you’re throwing it on him. Make sure he’s not working on any weapons—that’s dangerous ground both in injury and messing the weapon up.
Then, he’d actually be upset(but not for too long. He can’t stay mad at you.)
“Oh cmon!” He laughs, shoving you once he’s out from under the blanket.
Once he gets over his small upset, he’s laughing louder. It starts being real funny to him.
“That’s so dumb, that’s so dumb.” He says through laughter.
Wind:
He goes FLYING
“Hey y/—WAH!”
When you pick it up he’s got the biggest mischievous grin
“THATS CRAZY! LETS GO GET THE OTHERS!”
Thinks it’s the funniest thing known to mankind

"Here. I got you these."
"Flowers? Thank you, Hyrule. They're really pretty."
"Wild helped me pick them out. Since he's good with vegetation and all."
"They're my favorite. How did you know?"
"Um... Intuition! You pick up a few things when traveling for so long. I always saw your eyes linger on them when we traveled through fields."
I stalked you as well. I read through your private daily journal. I realized that whenever you were sad, you and Wind would pick flowers together and make flower crowns. I was in the woods watching both of you, feeling jealous and insecure when you mentioned that those flowers were your favorite. You looked so pretty when Wind put that flower crown on your head, like a ruler, like a god(dess).
"It means a lot that you're so insightful."
A lot more than you would know, love. Just for you. Only for you.

Rulie deserves some pampering time. Make him relax and not lift a finger!! Needs to hear nothing but praise and gratitude for once in his life! (All the Links do tbh but!! Singling our Hyrule for this)
Praising and Pampering Hyrule
(A/N:) I love Rulie sm. He's such a sweetie pie he really does deserve some loving and recognition.
Contains: GN!Reader, the hc that Hylian ears wiggle bc I love it, Rulie being mildly insecure and also doted on
Word Count: 348
Tumblr media
Hyrule blushed immensely, but made no moves to protest as you stroked his cheeks and cooed at him. He was currently buried up to his neck in blankets, and you wouldn't let him get up for anything.
It was...nice.
While maybe slightly smothering, it was nice to have someone caring about him so much. Actually...doing things for him. Encouraging him to rest. It wasn't something he was used to.
Hyrule was usually the one going on errands, doing quests for ungrateful people and offering others a reprieve when they needed. Now he was the one in that position.
It was an odd, unfamiliar feeling, but...he kind of liked it.
Especially because it was you.
You were so kind to him. Always so sweet. So thoughtful. He didn't deserve it.
And maybe he was imagining it, but it seemed like all that attention was reserved just for him. He never saw you doting on Wind, or criticizing Legend's sleeping habits, and he certainly never saw you cooking for Wild.
But you did all those things for him. Sometimes you were like a mother hen with how you cooed over him. But he didn't mind it. Not at all.
He liked being worried about. He liked being taken care of. He liked being loved on.
...And he definitely liked being praised.
"So strong..." You murmured into his jaw, pressing kisses to his face. "So noble, so kind...and so handsome..."
His ears were twitching enough that there was no way you hadn't noticed, and it only made him more red–pink crawling up to the tips of his ears as they wiggled happily.
"I- I'm not..." He whispered shyly, but his resistance was rather weak. Even if he didn't believe such things about himself, he didn't want you to stop saying them. So he wasn't fighting it too hard.
"Hush, yes you are." You smooched his cheek, and pulled his head into your chest. "You're precious and sweet and such a gentleman-"
He buried his blushing face into your chest.
Oh Hylia, you'd be the death of him.

Happy Valentine's everyone!
Here, Valentine's gift from me to you.
Tumblr media
Bargain of A Lifetime
Pairing: Hyrule x GN reader Word count: 2.4k WARNING(S): Heavy amounts of reader teasing Hyrule General info: You were having a wonderful day with Hyrule, enjoying each other's company and making memories together. But then you came across an irresistible offer that changed the outcome of everything as a consequence.
Tumblr media
You laughed and joked with Hyrule as you walked through the bustling town. Smiles on your faces, the satisfaction from a pleasant day evident on the both of you; you had spent your time playing a few games, buying items of interest and a few treats for yourselves. Additionally, you had also learned just how much Hyrule loves sweets, as if that hadn’t already been established much earlier with the way he practically devoured anything the Champion made that contained some sugar in it.
You were currently giving Hyrule more context to the story you were telling, and he was attentive, carefully listening and asking questions when the opportunity allowed for it. Which made it a total surprise for you when you noticed his eyes shift their focus from your face to something behind you and leave them trained on that point as you kept walking. No longer talking, you were intrigued by whatever was it that had caught his attention.
“What is it, Link?” You asked with genuine interest.
His eyes snapped back to you, the brunet spent a few seconds in silence, then he fiddled with his fingers and his cheeks became dusted with pink after you blinked.
“Oh, not much. But I was wondering if you…” Hyrule rubbed his hands anxiously, looking for words that seemed out of reach and only letting out stutters and a few pauses.
“Uh, if you don’t mind- y’know, help me with s-something. But you see-”
One of your eyebrows arched in confusion as he kept talking, and you weren’t even gonna bother in trying to figure out what he was trying to tell you when he had barely said anything coherent enough to give you a single ounce of context or as much as a hint as to what he may be referring to. It was impossible to get a single idea of what he may be trying to say with this little to work with.
“What?” You cut him off and asked him as confusion ran all over you, and it looked like Hyrule could feel it.
He opened his mouth several times only to shut it again when he couldn’t find what he wanted to say. His blush spread a little further, he swallowed thickly and cleared his throat.
“Um, the bakery behind you is…” and that would be it for all the context you were gonna get from him as he would continue to make unsure sounds.
Your body twisted in the direction of the mentioned bakery, and surely enough, there it was. Remembering how much Hyrule liked treats and the like, now it made sense that he would want to enter the building, though you still found it strange how nervous he had gotten from just the simple request of going with you to said bakery.
“Do you want to go there? I can get you something, if you’d like.” You offered with a smile, taking one of his hands and lightly pulling it.
Hyrule gripped you anxiously, body stiff as a statue.
“Just… forget about it. It’s fine.” And his gaze shifted to his boots as if they had suddenly become the most interesting thing.
“Are you sure you really don’t want anything?” You asked, puzzled.
It was not like Hyrule at all to refuse an opportunity like this, and it made it all the more strange when you consider how he had gladly gone with you to almost every corner of the town without a single worry and now he was very fidgety and uncertain about doing something that was common for everyone.
“Well, even if you don’t want anything, would you go with me?” You looked at the brunet expectantly, waiting for his reply.
He didn’t meet your eyes and his face felt like it was burning from the inside from how much blood was rushing to it, which prompted him to hide behind his bangs as best as he could. His single response was to nod weakly, and you took him by the hand with a grin.
Before you stood a small building made of stone, the name of the business in big letters on a sign. But there was another sign to the side of the entrance that caught your attention, almost right in front of you. Reading it, it was revealed to you that there was a special deal for couples; two pieces of fruit cake for the price of one. You took a moment to process the information, an idea in your head. If your theory was correct, then it certainly explained why the brunet acted the way he had.
Unbeknownst to you, Hyrule had been ferociously fighting the urge to run away and find a place to hide for the rest of the day since he saw you read the sign with the special deal. Sweat ran down his face, he wanted nothing more than disappear. Oh but when you met his eyes after reading the cursed sign, he almost prayed to the godessess to perish right on the spot as he averted his gaze yet again. It all started making sense to you.
“Link, I have an idea.” You informed him with perhaps more enthusiasm than he wanted you to.
“...Really?” His voice audible just enough for you catch what he said.
“Let’s pretend to be together so we can get the cake.”
His body tensed and his arms came up as if to hug himself. Eyes were still strictly trained on the ground.
“I-I don’t know…”
You swore you could almost see the nervousness in the air coming off of him. One of your hands rubbed his shoulder in encouragement.
“Come on, it’s not like you have to kiss me or anything. Just hold my hand or have an arm around me.” Part of you was convinced that it would never work and you should have never suggested that in the first place.
But then Hyrule stopped fidgeting and really considered the possibility, with an ‘oh…’ of realization as if he hadn’t thought of the many options you two had to really look like a couple until you suggested them. But you wouldn’t know that as he was quiet enough that you didn’t hear him. The hero took a deep breath, his head slowly rising with a shy smile on his lips.
“I think I can do that.”
He was relieved, he could handle holding your hand or having an arm around you. Probably. Although the thought of getting to kiss you to pretend you two were together didn’t sound like a bad idea to him, but it was unfortunately too intimidating for him.
Wasting no time, you place yourself right beside him, as close as you can. His arm running behind you as you take his hand and place it on your hip, yours settles to rest on his waist. And to fully sell the act, you lean into him, and the grin and blush on your face only aided you in the image you wanted to present. Link felt like he was gonna melt at any second and slip through your fingers, into the cracks from the stone floor. His face looked almost unhealthily red.
There was no need for words as you two began walking forward in agreement, past the entrance to the bakery. Your nostrils picking up on the many sweet scents inside the building, the fruit cake became more appetizing, and a look at Hyrule revealed that he had to be going through the same thought process as you. Behind the counter, an elderly woman greeted you both with a smile.
“Oh, don’t you two just make an adorable couple? Welcome! What can I get for you?" The lady’s smile warm and bright.
Hylia only knew what was going through Hyrule’s mind when he heard the lady imply that you two were in a relationship, if he hadn’t been struggling keep some mental peace prior to this, then he definitely was now. It was all up to you.
“We would like the fruit cake offer, please.” You glanced at Hyrule to find that he was trying to hide his face behind his bangs and his blush had not let up.
You enjoyed that image a bit too much.
“Why, certainly!” The lady reached behind her to get your baked goods.
“See? It wasn’t that hard.” You whispered to Hyrule, which prompted him to finally meet your eyes with a soft smile on his face after everything.
“It really wasn’t.”
“Don’t forget it was all thanks to me.” You teased and jokingly elbowed Hyrule, causing him to avert his gaze.
Back at the counter, the lady was holding your two pieces of cake which you eagerly took then placed in the basket you were carrying.
“Is there anything else I can get for you?”
An idea sparked in your head. You lean closer to the counter.
“My boyfriend is a big fan of sugar, do you have anything you think he would like?”
Behind you, Hyrule’s face bloomed with more red than should be possible. The lady merely chuckled, getting on with your plan.
“My, aren’t you a lucky young man?” Words directed at Hyrule, and he tried to convince himself that he hadn’t heard anything of what had gone on the last couple seconds.
The old woman turned around, going over to where she had an assortment of cookies of several types.
“Oh, to be young and in love again.”
Link wanted nothing more than to be struck down in that moment; didn’t matter what did it he just wanted to forget about everything that had happened since you two entered the bakery. The only way this could get worse is if someone else in the group found out about it, but he suppressed the thought before it could manifest and become a reality.
“It’s a special recipe, the last cookie of its kind that we have left. They are quire popular.” The woman presented a big, round cookie, light in color.
You gingerly packed the treat and put it next to the fruitcake from earlier, the lady subtly winked at you and you winked back as a form of saying thanks for helping you torment Hyrule a little more.
“How much is it?” Your hand about to reach for your pocket, waiting for the lady tell you how much everything costed.
“25 rupees, dear.”
You give her the amount required and lock your arm around Hyrule’s, he nearly jumped at the unexpected contact. Your face looked at his with a smile, ready to go on your way.
“Thank you, young ones! Don’t forget to take care of each other.” The lady waved at you as you walked towards the exit.
You waved back.
“We will!” You replied as you leaned into Link.
Once you were out the building and out of sight from the old woman, you let go of Hyrule and gave him some distance, albeit not too much. The hero scratched the back of his neck, his blush was starting to settle down little by little.
“I think that went well.” You said, as if his face hadn’t been painted with every shade of pink and red back at the bakery.
“Are you gonna be sad that you won’t get to be my boyfriend anymore? You won’t get cookies for some time now.” There was a smirk on your lips as you teased him again.
Not expecting a reply from him, your eyes went to the basket you held, to the most recently acquired goods, much too excited to eat what you had bought. Meanwhile, Hyrule was trying to control the whirlwind of emotions inside him; a part of him that screamed to make his move immediately, and another one that screamed how bad of an idea it was. Cheeks turned pink again, mind set on carrying out this little idea of his.
You were so distracted that you didn’t really notice what was happening until you found yourself encased in Link’s arms. He held you from your waist, eyes sparkly and his face close to yours. Now it was your time to blush and want to hide your face, matching Hyrule’s color back at the bakery.
It happened in the blink of an eye; his soft expression held hesitance, a thousand thoughts a second running through his head, but then his face came closer, and there was a peck on your right cheek.
“What if I remained your boyfriend after today?”
His voice was close to being a whisper and you wouldn’t have heard what he said had you not been so close to each other. Meanwhile, his words had the effect of very sticky honey that firmly held you in place as it delivered a dose of sweet and tender feelings on you.
“I would like that.” You looked at him with a smile, maintaining the eye contact.
His expression softened, and he smiled back at you, his hands never separated from your waist. No words were needed for your next exchange, both of you moved as if you had done this before with each other multiple times.
One of your hands found the back of his head, fingers tangling in his chocolate hair, the other one rested on his shoulder. As for Hyrule, he pulled you in even closer.
Everything else disappeared and was forgotten about, the kiss you shared held every feeling neither of you could put into words. It was long kiss by regular standards, but not suffocating. It was the right amount of soft and meaningful that a part of you ached for more the moment you separated.
“We need to get going. We’ve been gone for a while, but we can do more when we’re alone again.” His hand outstretched for you to take.
The prospect of repeating the kiss from before making you giddy and filled you with excitement. You nod in approval and your fingers tangle with Link’s when you take his hand, but before you could begin walking back to reunite with the group, you stepped closer into his personal space to place a kiss on his cheek.
The gesture made his ears perk up, and a faint blush spread over his face. He looked at you with what was perhaps the widest and happiest grin you’ve ever seen on him and giggle, since you two not only had shared wonderful memories today, gotten some treats to make the moment more memorable, he also had his feelings reciprocated by wonderful you. It all felt as if neither of you had known sadness, both of you filled with a pleasant warmth and joy that would be almost impossible to get rid of.

With all the asks from 👾 I've been thoroughly inspired to write something for Hyrule in the House Husband AU because it now just lives rent free in my head AKSNNXKS (these asks were the inspiration)
Tumblr media
The chain are in my house now which is just lovely, and while it's good to see that they're still safe. it's concerning that they were so focused on finding me that they'd abandon Hyrule for their search. Did they even see if there was a way for them to go back… or do they not care?
But if how Sage's body has reacted to being in this world for so long is anything to go off of?
Then some of the chain might need some time to adap-
"Hyrule!?"
No, no, no. Please let him be alright, he's part fae, of course, he wouldn't handle the lack of magic well. But I didn't think he'd faint on the spot!
"[name]? What's going on!? What happened to the traveller?"
"I'll explain later, just.. help me get him into my bed."
Where do we even begin, Sage doesn't have it this bad and there are no documented cases of magic withdrawal to look at. Would the best thing to do right now be to get him comfortable and keep him stable?
He’s still breathing, even though it’s worryingly shallow and his skin impossibly clammy. He’ll live though.
He has to.
“[Name] please. We all just wanted to see you, we didn’t - we didn’t think anything bad would happen.”
“Wind… It’s not your fault, Rulie’s going to be fine. I’m sure of it. We’ve got to stay strong for him alright?”
Rulie’s almost in my bed to rest now, if we can just get him comfortable then we can deal with the rest of this as it comes. Maybe I should ask…
“Sage, would you mind making some soup while I get Rulie stable? He'll probably need something thin for when he wakes up. Oh come on, you don’t need to pull that face love.”
Calling him that seems to have gotten him to show a little care for the others, even if it's just to get me to call him more pet names. Although the rest of the chain didn’t seem to like me calling Sage that, there are more important things to deal with right now.
Like getting Hyrule to wake up, if he stays unconscious for too long the only option would be to call the hospital, but that isn’t even a safe option because none of the chain has any ID which would cause a few issues, to say the least.
Starting with lowering his fever is a good idea, there should be something around here I could use. There’s a flannel I can dampen in the bathroom somewhere.
“Guys can you stay here with Hyrule and make sure he doesn’t get any worse while I go and get something to cool him down.”
“You’ve still not said what’s happened to him. Do you know what’s happening?”
“I have a hunch. Nothing certain, but we really need to focus right now. I promise you I’ll explain in a moment, Sky.”
Shoving past where they've all gathered in my room wasn't the easiest thing, but the adrenaline from all of this seems to be giving me an edge over the rest of the heroes, because I know if I didn't have that it should have been near impossible to do.
Coming back with a damp towel; laying it on Hyrule; his breathing becoming more steady, making now the perfect time to explain to the chain what’s most likely happening to him. Now I’ve just got to hope that I can think of how best to explain what might be going on.
“You all want to know why Rulie’s like this? It’s a little hard to explain and I’m not even sure if it's right but I’ll try my best to explain.”
No response. They are looking at me with a lot of concern though, more than that as well but it seems their concern for one of their brothers is outweighing whatever else they want to tell me right now. Guess the best action would be to explain what I can then try to answer any questions they might have.
“You probably noticed Sage’s ears right? Something similar has been happening with him, we guessed it’s most likely due to the fact that there’s no magic in this world. Something to do with that seems to change Hylian or magical features to make them fit would be the best way to put it. Hyrule’s part fae, so the lack of magic impacted him far more as well as far faster than it did with sage.”
“... you’re saying that something like this is going to happen to all of us? That we’re going to lose our magic if we stay here?”
I don’t know if I’m simply hearing things or not but Legend sounded like he was weighing that up as an option. I know they were somewhat desperate to be with me seeing as they’ve gone through all of this to be here but to throw away part of themselves like this? Sage didn’t have a choice to be brought here.
Would he have chosen it if he had the chance? How they’re all acting, like this doesn’t seem world-ending to them, like they aren’t sacrificing everything they've ever known. I think he would have decided this in a heartbeat now.
“It seems like that. Unless you have a way back to Hyrule then I think it’s almost certain to happen.”
Rulie looks to be stirring a bit now giving me an excuse to step away from why the chain are acting so concerning; instead focusing on him as he wakes. Gently taking his hand in my own the only real thing we can do is wait for him to get up and then figure out how bad everything is. However long that may take, I’ll make sure to stay here by his side.
He doesn’t need to wake up alone with everything else he’s going through.

One Year, Eleven Months and Twenty Days…
When Hyrule set off into yet another unfortunate journey, he didn't expect a sudden, skittish and nosy you to throw yourself into his life, much less for you to hang around him long enough for him to get attached. He believed he didn't need any company for as long as he lived as the hero, however as you proved him wrong, he started to fear for the possible time limit he could to have around you.
character — Hyrule, romantic.
cw — angst, hurt/comfort, mention of battles/injuries, paranoid behavior, self-blame.
I don't know why I'm starting a long fic, but rulie brainrot took over me, so here we have it. Chapters may not be as regular as I'd like, but I already have the general outline and can say it will be from something in between three to five chapters, so... Yeah, I hope you guys will like it!
Tumblr media
Chapter 1 — Of a lonely hero and a daring traveler
Tumblr media
Two minutes.
It took him less than that to notice that you were injured upon your first encounter, even when you tried to batantly hide the fact with a few poorly timed jokes. He inspected your form from a distance he deemed safe enough, unconvinced by your clear act of amicability towards him. You were just a traveller, just as himself, he happened to stumble upon while running away from yet another village, a very nosy traveller who took upon yourself to help him, the Hero of Hyrule himself, because of his seemingly weak state — he was just a tad tired from the long run, nothing less than usual for him —, while not noticing how poor your own state was, bandage around your upper arm bleeding through your coat.
You were quick to make yourself comfortable on his presence as the two of you had been making way towards the same destination, "Two are way better than one when travelling" you said and while he'd much rather disagree, he didn't do much more than offer a curt nod, accepting of you for as long as you didn't make the first move for a fight.
Fifteen hours.
Was the time before the first nightwatch, the forest far too dark for anymore walking to be productive. You tried to keep watch first, however he disagreed — far too paranoid to let himself be vulnerable on another's presence —, winning the heating discussion with his stubbornness alone. You went to sleep clearly disheartened — you'd take that as your chance to attack, he was sure.
When you woke up to take your turn he didn't offer much complaint, much to your surprise, and went to lay beside a fallen tree, back pressed tightly into it, too afraid to let his back exposed to any lurking enemies.
He did not sleep however, no, of course not. That would be a stupid move when he wasn't clear of your intentions yet, he was sure you were hiding your claws yet, ready to pounce whenever he was the most vulnerable, unable to fight back.
Surprisingly, the night ended peacefully, you dealt with a lurking wolf and even hunt down for breakfast, but made no moves towards his seemingly sleeping form, no glances, no traps, no poisons, nothing.
Three days.
Before the tiredness started catching up to him.
He hadn't slept for the few days your accompanied him, his body slowing down and his reaction time getting worse by the day. If you noticed his state, you made no comments on it, he could see, however, how his workload seemed to decrease slowly, you started walking more slowly saying your injured leg seemed to get worse — a light strain he was sure he had cured the night before as you slept —, you started checking the surroundings before the both of you walked into the next area and started carrying most of the weight around.
The next time he woke up, it must've been at least a days later, his head resting upon your now clean coat, as you sat farther into the clearing, beside a waterbody apparently cleaning down your sword and refilling the water flasks. He could feel the weight of one of your spare hoods on his head, along with a fresh smelling bandage who was poorly wrapped around his head, from this alone he could guess you didn't attempt to take a closer look at his face, which he was minimally grateful for.
In his usual state he'd make sure to go against your action, but in all his tiredness he couldn't bother himself to care enough for it.
It was only a matter of time before he fell down, the workload too much for his system to process. His vision blackening and mind wandering before he could even make contact with the ground.
As much as he wanted to depart soon towards the next city for a restock, your battered state made him hold his tongue. Your sunken eyes were enough of a tell of how much you took care of him in the time he was off. After that he made sure to sleep at least enough during the nights to come so the journey wouldn't be anymore delayed.
Two weeks.
The young boy couldn't even begin to wrap his head around the thought that this money wasn't just yours, but his too. When he tried shaking his hand in disagreement however, he could already see the frown starting to form on your face, stopping before another argument could start, not noticing how lately he seemed to cave in to any of your pleas.
You had reached the first city and he could finally bid you goodbye.
Or so he thought, before you were pulling him through the market, selling off any pelt, spare meat and any shiny object you got your hands on during the short time, the loot he found annoying you took everywhere soon making a hefty amount of rupees he didn't think of before. The most off-putting part of it however was how you naturally turned to him, showing the bag of money to him, while saying " We made so much money this time, all thanks to you" with a big grin.
One thing he could notice that day, was how you were just as awkward as him when it came to human interaction. The moment one of the innkeeper around your age tried asking about your relationship with him, clearly showing a romantic interest in you, you brushed it off with a laugh, running up to your shared room without even looking back, avoiding the attendant eyes for the whole time you spent around there. It was also the first time you had the pleasure to hear him laugh freely, as he made fun of your situation when you talked late into the night.
Two weeks and two days.
The day the both of you departed from the small city, rupee bag noticeably lighter and equipment way more polished, his arrows switched for more durable ones and his sword sharpened — the smith gave him a side glance, however your chattering stopped the man from making him any questions about the unusual blade.
He gave in to the idea that you might accompany him to wherever he was going for as long as he got your attention, also accepting that you were more useful than he thought at first, as you seemed to distract any possible threats by simply existing. He wasn't sure if it was your charisma or if you made other too afraid to question the both of you, but it still made the last two days he spent around other hylians much calmer than he could ever remember being since he finished his journey as the hero of this land, anytime someone as much as made a move to question him about the hood covering his face you started bombarding them with questions about their wares or glared them into silence, getting a pretty big discount as consequence.
It was uneventful enough as your chattered away, sharing with the boy any information and rumor you got from the locals, the few moblins that were found wandering around in strange patterns, the criminals getting more and more aggressive over the last few days and, of course, the newest cuisine that was created in the next town. The last bit you had gotten from a young postman who had to stay for little longer on the last city he visited, as the monsters attacked and everyone had to retreat to safety.
The thought that it may be his fault made him uncomfortable.
Three weeks and four day.
You were getting closer and closer to a dungeon the both of you wanted to explore, for different reasons, but still.
A certain merchant had talked relentlessly about how he could hear Pols Voices getting louder and louder inside a dungeon over the last few days. You didn't seem too keen on helping out until the man said something about a plentiful reward, but still, you waited so the boy could make the final decision. He agreed more out of familiarity than anything, too used to helping others to say no.
It had been some time since he had fought Pols Voices, and he had forgotten how much they strained his throat, but it was enough of a laugh when you prepared to make the first move and he beat you to it, screaming louder than you had ever seen anyone do in you life. Your eyes went wide, as you could do nothing but watch the ghostly monsters dying before they could even approach any of you in the large room.
"How can your voice be so loud when you're so quiet?" You questioned as soon as you got out of the dungeon, still stuffing the spoils into your bag, and he shrugged in answer, to which you pouted.
Upon seeing the merchant waiting for the both of you a little farther on the road, you didn't think before running up to the man, failing to notice the few other shadows that surrounded his figure. A trap.
Fortunately you were quick enough to act when you noticed what was happening, your hands curling around your fellow traveler's own as you fled with a single cut brushing against your neck.
It could've been worse.
Three weeks and five days.
You believed you were already far enough from your chasers.
You were sweating buckets, blood dried over your whole clothes, probably beyond salvation at this point. The boy beside you was unscratched fortunately, and even when he offered to help heal your injury, you denied adamantly. He could do nothing but watch as you clumsily cleaned and bandaged the cut with yet another herbal mixture, probably the same mixture you had used on him before and worked wonder on his body.
The two of you continued your path without your chirpy voice this time, only the few warnings you gave him the few times he tried to eat or feed you something clearly not edible, upon your standards at least.
Your eyes were peeled open ever since that day, barely sleeping at night and the thought that it might've been his fault plagued him yet again that night.
Four weeks and a day.
He should've noticed the signs sooner.
That night you came up with a ferver. Or actually, since the last confrontation you weren't getting any better from your injury.
He saw how restless you were during the nights, tossing and turning with quiet whimpers of pain, however he made the decision to not cure you from your ails, following your wishes.
How stupid he was.
A hero who couldn't offer his help. A hero who was too afraid to even say his own name. A hero who brought more problems than solutions.
Could he even call himself a hero?
That night he was even more scared than the first time he had someone after his head, he couldn't even begin to understand why the thought of never hearing any of your terrible jokes or see any of your stupid life choices made him so restless, however he just understood that if you were like this because of him, the least he could was curing you before parting ways. It'd be for the better.
His powers didn't work.
A month and two days.
It had been five days and you hadn't woken up. Your ferver was still high as he followed the path, your form slumped over his shoulder.
The first day he cried for hours when he noticed that his powers weren't working, but he knew that the longer he spent on the same spot, the easier it'd be for his enemies to find him.
He was quick to change gears and continue his path, even when his mind ran miles a second, he shouldn't let you get hurt again, he should protect you for being the one who put you through such troubles.
It was hard, and his mind wandered sometimes to the first week he spent by your side, how even with his clear distrust, you took care of him, yet never made any complaints when he fell or made any mistakes, covering everything with an easy smile and a wave of the hand.
It was late at night when you first made any sound that wasn't akin to the sharp pain you were feeling, a low "traveler" falling from your lips, before you coughed because of your dry throat.
When he heard the title you used to call him he was quick to drop anything he was doing, running to your side — just now he noticed he had never told you his name.
You tried to laugh at his desperation as he offered you the flask of water, asking if the layers were too cold or too hot, already rummaging through his bag for anything that might help you now that you were awake, but the moment you noticed the tears falling down his hood and into his shaking hands, you shut your mouth, just taking the bottle and gulping down the liquid without a word.
The both of you sat in silence for a few minutes — he wished you'd stay laying down, but you insisted you were healthy enough to sit at least —, but you sighed when he seemed too lost to even make the first move.
"I was poisoned" He flinched. "Fortunately it was nothing fatal, but the side effects can last a few days… or weeks, I already have experience with these things, so it's not like I'll die from something like that."
He felt himself wanting to cry again when he saw that easy smile of yours, the one you always offered when you knew he was a little down, and somehow you always were right.
The hood that covered his face finally fell as he tugged into it, revealing his chestnut hair, curling until right under his pointy ears, much unlike your own, his eyes had a similar color with a forest green undertone that seemed to drawn you in, even when it was bloodshot from his previous crying, his skin glowing under the moonlight, reminding of the tales you often heard during your childhood about the Great Fairy.
He opened his mouth after a few seconds of a heavy silence.
"My name is Link..." He gulped, eyes descending to his fidgeting hands, too nervous to meet your clearly awed gaze as he wondered if it was the right choice, if you'd recognize him and go after his life just like the others. "I'd like to continue travelling with you… Even after we complete this journey."
You stayed silent for a long time, enough so he would look up to you again seeing the warm, real smile you wore.
"Of course! I'd love to, Link!"

Hello Beautiful Beasties!
Smut-tember 23, Day 12: Hyrule x Reader - Lightning
Summary: Lightning can be dangerous and can bring up bad memories, but Hyrule has perfected his lightning spell in a way that will have you wishing he had done this sooner.
Word count: 1,807
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Are you sure this is safe?"
"I wouldn't try this on you if it weren't."
"Wait, you haven't tried it yet?" You only got a quick glance from Hyrule as he pulled out a jar with a yellow liquid inside. "Hyrule!"
"I tried it on myself a few times until it was perfect and even then I practiced it."
"When have you had time to do that? It's not like we get to an Inn that often."
"Just when I can." He shrugged like it was nothing. You let it go with a dramatic huff. When he looked back at you, you stuck your tongue out at him playfully.
"What do you need me to do?" You asked, as he stood from the shared bed.
"Just to undress."
"Couldn't buy me dinner first?"
He saw through the joke. "You don't have to do this if you don't want to."
You absently picked at your nails, a nervous habit. "That obvious, huh?"
"You do jokes, not always good jokes either, when you are nervous." He sat back down beside you, tucking hair behind your ear.
Your cheeks heated with him being so close. You turned just enough to place a few chaste kisses to his lips. "I want to though."
Hyrule snagged your bottom lip, pulling you closer by it. He whispered huskily, "Then get your pretty ass undressed."
You shucked your light layers and laid back on the small mound of pillows Hyrule stacked for your comfort. Naked and nestled into the softness provided, you kept your legs closed and waited for him to be ready. You watched him flutter around the room whispering something that you assumed was his concealing spell for the noise that would be soon filling the room. Last thing you needed was to get everyone else kicked out of the Inn.
He crawled onto the bed, kissing your knees as a silent way of asking for you to open them. Hyrule wasn't one to growl, but he did purr. He purred while watching you present yourself to him, all freshly shaved and clean. He dipped his head down and started licking over your sex a few times, making you feel more relaxed. A cork popped, yellow liquid drizzled out onto Hyrule's fingers. He watched your face as he swirled the liquid around your entrance.
"Why does it already feel like you started?" You asked, taking in the tip of one of his fingers. His thinner fingers always work you open with ease.
"You can thank Wild for that. He found a way to use the electric chu jelly after filtering it so it only left us with a more lube type of substance than the salves we normally use it for. How the other jellies give off heat and cooling, this one gives off a gentle zapping feeling. Plus the spell can be conducted better and stay where I want it."
"I swear, he is the horniest person we all know. I will definitely be thanking him later." Your mouth dropped open a bit more when his second finger slipped inside you, forcing the liquid to go in with them.
Three fingers in, he had you panting and wanting to grind down on his hand. He leaned over you to capture your lips with his own. His lips always tasted so sweet like sugar. Your hands needed to hold onto something while you tried to control yourself. Loosely you wrapped your arms around his neck, fingers intertwined with his curly hair. It was enough to stifle the want to get his fingers in deeper. You two hungrily kissed each other, but your head flew back with a broken scream as Hyrule found you sweet spot and rubbed on it with purpose. He nipped and mouthed at your throat as he continued to pleasure you, but slowed to a stop when your voice rose octaves and you started to shake. Green-hazel eyes looked into your lust filled blues, smirk on his face from how he had just worked you up. “Are you ready?”
“Please.”
“I need a yes or a no, Sunshine.”
“Yes, please please yes!” You rocked your hips while answering.
He hushed you nicely when you whined from his fingers slowly leaving you. “I’m not done with you in there, but I want you to feel it everywhere else first.” He held his hand up, showing the smallest amount of white sparks of lightning dance across his fingers and palm. He made sure you followed his hand’s slow descent back between your legs. His eyes shifted from your face to his own hand that sat inches away from your moist skin. Hyrule let the lighting graze you and you hummed at the tingling feeling it gave you.
Hyrule fully pressed his hand to your sex, stroking and rubbing every part of you. The lightning felt like vibrations, just enough for you to feel and continue to get excited, but not enough to make you want to cum. “More, please, more.” The sparks grew in intensity while you were being fondled. You twitched with a sigh of delight.
“Are you ready to really try it out?” Hyrule asked as he pressed into your entrance once again.
“Stop t-teasing.”
Three fingers pressed back in and you struggled to keep back the wanton noises. The lightning had your breath catching in your throat. How could it feel this good? You were already a panting mess, but Hyrule increased the spell and you could feel the individual streaks of lightning coating your walls, electrifying your nerves. Your thighs spasmed and jerked without your permission every time Hyrule went over specific nerve endings. He spread and pressed his fingers into every muscle that fluttered around his fingers, kissing your inner thighs, leaving marks here and there until he got to your sex, giving a double dose of stimulation.
His fingers and mouth continued to explore, testing out different voltages and speeds to make you call out his name. You could tell he enjoyed the fast paced finger fucking and higher voltage to get you oh so close, only for him to come almost to a stop. “N-no no! Please! Hyrule, please please don’t stop!” You begged, eyes flying open with a lust filled fear that he would actually stop. Your eyes rolled back when he began again, but with less fervor so he stayed in control of when you were going to cum.
“Do you feel good?” Hyrule asked you, breath adding to the overall sensation of simulation.
“R-really good, but ah!” He had hit close to your sweet spot.
“But what?” You could clearly hear amusement in his teasing tone. Hyrule sent a strong spark through you to make you arch into his mouth. Your hips came off the bed a few inches, making him have to press you back down.
“Rulie pleeeease! It feels so good, nng-ah! Hyrule!!” He slowed down, denying you the ability to cum once again. Tears leaked from the corners of your eyes, chin quivering. Every inch of your skin felt like fire was nipping at you. Your mind was so far gone due to how Hyrule’s spell vibrated and electrified your insides, never letting you rest, but also never letting you reach your climax. It was all too much and not enough.
Wet lips cooled the fire on your skin, bringing you back down to the reality of Hyrule's open mouthed kisses up your torso. When he got to your chest, he stopped. "Look at me, Sunshine."
You did as he asked, any other thoughts gone.
"Do you want to cum?" He kissed close to your left nipple, free hand caressing your right one.
"Yes, yes I wanna cum." You sounded so pitiful, but adorable.
"Are you going to cum for me?"
"Mmm, hmph!! Yes." You whined and whimpered from the lack of movement.
Hyrule chuckled as he said, "Good." His mouth locked around your nipple, sucking and biting at it as his hand did similar motions to the other. His hand inside you sparked back to life. He vigorously abused your sweet spot, rubbing and swiping over it. The lightning was stronger than it had been, nearing painful, but gods it still felt so damn good.
Electricity ran through your body, lighting up your nerves, forcing you muscles to clench and unclench. Hyrule's fucked his finger deeper, ramming them and hit that spot that made you want to scream every time. You didn't know how much you could take as the spell heightened once more and you saw the white lines crawl up his arms and across your lower half as you both got lost in the absolute pleasure. Your heels dug into the mattress, hands fisted the sheet next to your head, hips ground down on Hyrule's hand as you begged for more more more. And more you got…
Knowing how you liked to be told when to cum, Hyrule kissed below your ear and demanded you to. "Cum for me, Sunshine. Come on, that's it. Do it… now!"
Your back arched while you screamed out in the greatest pleasure you had ever had, cumming forcefully all over Hyrule's slicked hand. He worked you through your orgasm, slowing to a stop. He kissed the side of your face as you tried to bring air back into your lungs. You wrapped your legs and arms around him, burying your face into his chest. Tears of pure ecstasy flooded your eyes, you trembled and whined, clinging to him as if he was the only thing keeping you from slipping out of reality.
"Hey, hey are you okay? Did it- did I hurt you?" He kept peppering your face with comforting lips, concerned that he took it too far.
"N-no, just, a lot. Need to calm." Words didn't come easily in this state of recovery. He sighed out his anxiety of hurting you into your hair. He thankfully covered you up with a light sheet, allowing you to feel less exposed in the open room.
It took some time, but soon enough you started to breathe easier. Long breaths instead of short puffs blew against Hyrule's dewy chest. It was then that you looked up at his face, kissing under his chin and realized that he hadn't had any attention. Feeling your hand wander to his hip, he snagged your hand, pink across his cheeks. "I uh, kinda didn't need to be touched this time."
You leaned away to see his face clearly, pink turning to red. You gave a giggle, curling back into him. "I take it back, you are the horniest person I know."
"Wild is going to be pissed."
"Well, he will just have to work harder for the title back." You two broke out into laughter, knowing damn well Wild would take you up on that.
Keep it Naughty you Beautiful Beasties!🖤
Rest. (Hyrule x reader)
Hello!!! Welcome to my first fic ever, literally. I’m a beginner writer, never having really wrote a full story. I’ve always had an interest and wrote some poetry, but this is my first ever creative writing story! I hope you all enjoy it. Constructive comments are very very appreciated!
Warnings: reader in pain for like half of it, kinda mean chain???, abuse of the comma, no y/n used, hurt/comfort
Synopsis: reader wants to make the chain proud in a fight but ends up getting their ass kicked a bit. They have to piece them back together, give them a scolding, and try to teach them a lesson. Hyrule caves in though because he loves the reader.
——————————
Everything hurt. Your body inflamed, a sharp needle dug further and further into your gashed arm. A pitiful cry quietly left your lips, only to immediately be soothed by one of the men to your side. It all happened too fast, too quickly for your inebriated mind to process. A raging battle was all that you could remember. Your small, quaint camp ravaged by the beasts that lurked in the depths of Hyrule. It was Time who noticed the imminent danger first. He wielded his blade strongly, alongside his brothers who swiftly leapt to his aide. Despite their best efforts to keep you from harms way, you also jumped to action and gripped your small sword. You held your ground well in the beginning. Like rushing water, you recklessly pushed and pulled against the enemy. Feeling a bit too cocky you got in a bokoblin’s face. Fate and karma sang their tune, and in the climax of their chorus the ringing sound of broken glass was heard. You messed up. You failed to recognize the potion it was carrying, you failed to recognize the beast raising its nasty arm to strike you, and you failed to block its charging attack.
That’s how you got here. Trapped between your party’s limbs and gazes, holding you down. Despite their deep concern, they were also enraged with your carelessness. Did you not believe they had your best interests in mind? The squelching sound of your flesh in the tense silence ate away at Four, who finally spoke up in a hushed tone, “You should really know how to listen better, maybe then you’d stop finding yourself in these situations.” The words felt scolding. They did nothing to stop the onslaught of tears cascading done your dirty, sun kissed face. Guilt ate away at your insides. Four was right, if you listened to them you wouldn’t have gotten hurt. Who were you to be so disobedient to these experienced, hardened heroes? Noticing your distress, Sky grabbed your hand in comfort. “We know you just wanted to help, feel useful, but you can’t throw yourself like that.” He was more tender. Like a worried mother. Pushing through your exhaustion you look up at their faces. They weren’t the kindest. Yes, the Links were always stoic, but this look read pure frustration.
Your gut sank. You swam in the panic, drank the anxiety, and bathed in the shame. It couldn’t be helped anymore, your wails bouncing off the forests dark and dank trees. Like a newborn baby, you were inconsolable. Recognizing your outburst, Hyrule quickly finished his stitches and guided his brothers away from you. Perking up from the sudden sounds, you open your red eyes to see them slowly moving away from you. More red flags shot up in your mind. Did you really mess up that bad? Are you that horrible of a person to where they can’t even look at you? All you wanted was to make them proud, to help them fight. They did so much for you, why can’t you do the same? The prospect of being alone in this moment terrified you, trying to rise to your feet you foolishly use your injured arm to support your weight. More of your cries hit their ears, some of them turning to check on your crumpled form. All you could think of doing now is begging. Begging for forgiveness, for their warmth.
“Please come back, I’m so sorry!” You loudly exclaim. Your bold words gathered the rests attention. The first one to cave was Hyrule. Without a second thought, he ran to you. Grabbing you and helping you to your feet, he sighs. This was supposed to teach you a lesson. Tough love, as Time likes to call it. You were supposed to learn that the party can’t always be there to patch you up despite their wishes. That you have to help yourself sometimes even with the most painful of injury. But he couldn’t stand to leave you in such a state. His hands ran across your back lovingly, whispering sweet nothings into your ear. “Calm down, dearest, don’t get so worked up now.” Lifting his eyes he can see his brother’s irritated gazes upon him. He knows they’re disappointed he ruined the plans, but he couldn’t really find the nerve to care. With his added support you find yourself sitting at a log beside the campfire.
It was all quiet. The only sounds being your toned down hiccups and the men’s breathing. At the sound of you taking a sharp inhale, they all give their attention to you. “Have I been bad?” You timidly ask, voice breaking once more. This was NOT what they intended. It was well known you were sensitive, but they figured you’d get the hint and accept their treatment even if you would be a bit peeved. “No, not exactly,” Time cautiously spoke, “we just need you to learn to take care of yourself.” He spoke softly. With your eyes now fixated on him, he felt horrible. He should’ve been there to protect you. Knowing he had your attention he pressed forward, “You’re always jumping into danger, with us having to tend to you and reaping what you sowed.” The statement was blunt yet it cut deep. Looking around at the others, you tried to find some consolation. Twilight’s face twisted into thought before he spoke up as well, “He’s right, princess, what’s gonna happen when we aren’t there huh?” He was kinder than Time. For about ten or so minutes, the rest of the party softly lectures you. You couldn’t care to listen. The only thing on your mind was how exhausted you were, and the intense guilt you felt. They were all right, you knew it. You relied on them a bit too much despite your best efforts, that’s what sparked your courage to fight today anyways. Maybe you should resign yourself to simply staying out of it.
Without any warning, you get off the log and release Hyrule’s hand. Walking to your bedroll, you were careful not to irritate the fresh stitches. Legend, being as brash as he is shouted after you, “Don’t be so sensitive about it, doll, we aren’t trying to be mean!” His tone saying otherwise. Out of pure spite you push your small cot as far away from the others as you could without being in danger. This display of aggression shocked them. Laying down on the plush cot, you crawled into your thick blankets. It was quiet now. The only sound heard throughout the camp was the crickets in the wet grass below. You watched blearily as the fireflies danced about, acting as mock stars.
With a heavy sigh, Time softly spoke to his brothers, “Maybe we should just let them stew in their juices for a bit, pressing them all at once isn’t going to do any good.” At his exasperation, the other Links communicated through glares and glances. Hyrule was antsy. On one hand he agreed, and thought it was best to just let you blow off steam yourself. But on the other, he wanted to hold you tight and tell you it wasn’t your fault. Everybody makes mistakes. It doesn’t matter if it’s frequent, or rare. You don’t deserve this treatment. Deciding to check on you, he slowly crept away from the campfire. His soft footsteps padded on the damp grass below.
“Does it still hurt?” Hyrule tested. Bracing for a rough scolding, he closed his eyes in a grimace. Instead, you rolled over to face him. Your mouth was dry, but you still spoke just as sweetly, “A bit, it’s not as bad now that you’ve closed the wound…” his eyes widened in relief. The words stumbled out of his mouth, “That’s good! I mean, it sucks you’re still hurt, but I mean it’s good you’re feeling better!” His ramble kept going as you stared lovingly into his eyes. A small giggle left your now chapped lips, the noise working to quiet the flushed man in front of you. Letting the silence linger for a moment, you move your hand to beckon him to lay with you. The blankets shifted as he quickly moved to cuddle with you. Hyrule’s hands nervously raked over your body, not sure where to place them. Peering at him curiously you whisper, “I’m not going to bite, love, you can wrap your arms around me.” Your sentence had his face flushing. For a heartbeat or two he was completely still. Unsure if he really should move to pull you closer. Listening to your slowed breaths, he confirmed that you were indeed comfortable. With this admission he wrapped his arms protectively around you.
You didn’t stir or react to the movement. This had Hyrule worried for a second. Until he came to the conclusion that you had indeed fallen asleep, the exhaustion of the past hours catching you. A smile falls onto his rounded features. He knew in the morning you’d be mortified of your behaviors from today, but that’s not what matters now. What truly matters is that you’re comfortable right here in his arms. And that lone thought was enough to calm his mind. Stroking your messy hair, your breaths lulled him to follow you into sleep.
As the stars twinkled above, the two of you slept soundly. For now, it didn’t matter what the others were feeling. You had your heart right here beside you. And in the end, that’s all you truly need.
reo is not above asking for kisses. in fact, he begs for them.
it’s a little embarrassing when you’re out in public, really. the way he tugs at your sleeve, whining because you haven’t kissed him in forever (you kissed him before you left your apartment.)
embarrassingly enough, it’s also why you find yourself hidden away in an alley more often than not with reo pressing a flurry of kisses on your lips.
“reo-” you turn your head to the side, trying to catch your breath. he only hums in response before tilting your head back to keep kissing you.
(you’re starting to think you’re going to pass out from the lack of air.)
“reo!” you hiss, tilting your head up, his lips landing on your chin before he huffs, his hand coming up again to gently push you head down so you’re facing him again.
“jus’ one more.” he mumbles, pressing his lips to yours again with a satisfied hum. (he’s said that for the past fifteen minutes.)
(you think he’s becoming spoiled.)
you pull away, turning your head to the side, biting back a smile when he whines as you place your hand over his lips. a soft, slightly annoyed huff leaves your lips when he presses a kiss to the palm of your hand.
"reo." you sigh, looking at him with a frown. "we're gonna be late."
he frowns back at you.
"nagi's gonna be even more late than us!" his voice comes out muffled due to your hand. you hum in confusion before he slowly grabs your wrist and lowers your hand, repeating his words with a pout.
you sigh, slightly shaking your head, "even if he is, i don't wanna make him wait too long for us."
reo groans, resting his forehead on your shoulder. you absentmindedly lift your hand to pat his head in slight comfort.
"do we really have to go now?" he pouts, lifting his head from your shoulder to look at you.
he whines when you nod. he sniffles, "nagi's probably not even there yet!"
"doesn't matter," you hum, smiling when he huffs and crosses his arms, turning away from you with a frown as he grumbles under his breath.
you gently turn his head back to yours, a teasing smile on your lips. "i thought you'd be more excited to see your best friend?"
"i am." he pouts, "i just don't see why that means i can't kiss you."
"you can." you blink, "it's just embarrassing when you beg me to kiss you in the middle of the street."
he lets out a gasp, "no it isn't!
"for you, maybe!" you laugh, poking his nose. "wouldn't you feel embarrassed if i suddenly stopped you in the middle of a busy street, just to ask for a kiss?"
"no!" he huffs, puffing his cheeks out, looking slightly offended at the accusation, "i'd feel flattered."
you roll your eyes, "yeah, right."
he huffs again after a beat of silence, pouting before he steps back and sighs, "fine. let's get going, then."
"wait," you hum, a mischievous smile on your lips as you grab his shirt and pull him close to you again. "aren't you forgetting something?"
you laugh when his face lights up, his hands cupping your cheeks as he leans in, whispering, "one for the road."
(it was not, in fact, one kiss. he started pressing a flurry of kisses on your lips again.
he's too spoiled, you conclude. still, you can't find it in yourself to stop indulging him.)
(though, you're both embarrassed by the time nagi's spamming your phones with calls, asking why neither of you have arrived at the café yet.)
Bets were a very common thing amongst the chain. You’ve come to realize this during your time traveling with them. They’re a bunch of boys, after all. It was only commonplace. It was most often between the vet and the captain, as they had a silly sort of friendly rivalry, if one could even call it that. They liked to throw jabs at each other. More recently, though, the traveler had gotten in on it. He and the champion often had competitions of who could find resources first, who could reach the end of the dungeon first, who could balance their swords the longest(that one ended with a few cuts). Today, it was arm wrestling. The champion was, well, a champion at this and the traveler was up to bat next. To be honest, he didn’t have a lot of faith in himself with this. He was pretty strong, he could admit, but in his mind he was nowhere near the champion’s strength—let alone the rancher or smith. He sat on the other side of the stump and took the champion’s hand.
“You ready?” The champion grinned.
“Define ready…” the traveler laughed nervously, sparing a glance in your direction. His face turned red and he looked away, having seen you glued to the scene was a nightmare in his eyes. He didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of you.
“On three, okay?” The champion brought him out of his thoughts. “One, two, three!”
The race was off, both of them giving this their all, and neither of them knowing how to do anything but. The links were always tryhards. Much to his surprise, the competition was swayed in the traveler’s favor, and the back of the champion’s hand smacked the top of the stump. The traveler’s eyes lit up and he jumped up, hands in the air.
“YES! HA!! I DID IT!!!” He jumped around and ran up to you as you cheered and clapped for him, he brought you into a huge hug before even thinking. He let you go almost as quickly as he grabbed you. “Shoot—sorry—“
You just laughed and pulled him back into a hug. “Great job, Traveler. I knew you’d win, I was in your corner the whole time.”
That could’ve melted him. He eased into your hold and wrapped his arms back around you, a dopey smile on his face. If winning felt like this every time, he’d do whatever it took.
A/N: Cause I'm in a soft, gooey mood. I'm thinkin of the Links being married.
Tumblr media
~~ Imagining Wild smiling so softly down at a letter, looking so love-strucked yet yearning at the same time. Of course, one of the boys called out to him in a teasing way, wanting to know what got him all head in the clouds like their fellow skyloftian knight. He huffs softly and replies with a voice filled with longing, "My spouse wrote me a letter, basically wishing me safety and sweet dreams of them to soothe me."
~~ First normally kept to himself about his s/o, wishing to keep them safe during his time in prison for 4 years. Pushing you away from Demise's grasp with one last kiss, as he headed off to fight hard and long til his last dying breath. Only to reawaken in a coffin, tumbling out and wondering where he was.
His first thought after was wonder of if you were alive and kicking. He rubbed his left ring finger in a panic, sighing in relief when the metal met his skin. The impression of your bright, sweet smile soothed him, made his heart beat fast until the sound of a screech reached his ears.
~~ The look on the chain's face when a body slammed into Legend was hysterical yet made him shy under their wide questioning gazes. He wanted to squirm out of your hold, only to halt when those eyes, filled with tears of relief and love made him melt on the spot. He softly sighed and rubbed their head while exchanging gentle words between them.
The ring on your hand made them choke in surprise; so those rings on his hands are for distractions, huh?
~~ Hyrule kept his ring on a necklace under his tunic, away from sight due to conflict. His head was always threaten to be on a pike, didn't help when he carried all three pieces of the triforce on the back of his hand. He was constantly hunted, he worried they would come to find you if they were to ever find out he was married to you. Yet alas, he would be found by Legend with him sitting there, idly messing with the ring around his neck, a far off look on his face and a gentle smile. Of course, the veteran was going to be curious of whom caught the dear traveler's heart.
~~ Four watched you idle around the living room, gesturing a flick of your wrist to who could lay where without the worry of stepping on somebody. He stares with his chin in his hand, smiling softly as you jabbered on about something to one of the Links. The colors laughed when you bickered and bantered with that Link before silencing at the sweet smile you quickly flashed over to him alongside a wink.
He covered his face with his hand, flushing red at the laugh that echoed in the home.
~~ Once again, he had his head in the clouds with a dreamy smile on his lips. Sky clutched the letter close to his chest and heaved a tranquil breath, his ears flapped wildly, almost imaginary hearts fluttered and popped around his head. Some of those groan, while the other laughed and shook their head at the lovesick expression on the skyloftian's face.
He raised the letter above his face, pressing a gentle kiss against the ink on the bottom of the page then one to the ring gracing his finger.
"I'll be home as soon as I can, my love."
~~ He was so giddy to be home. As one could be, he was always the composed and conscientiousness captain, but when given the opportunity to reunite with his love. Warriors is practically floating down the path to his shared home that the group is struggling to keep up with his rampant pace. He can't help himself! He needs to smooch his spouse! It's a crime to him to be away for this long from them.
The look on their face when he entered the house with a flourish yell of their name, made his heart soar.
~~ Time chuckled when you fussed over Twilight, tucking him in before glaring at the male when he tried to protest. His descendant looked at him with a silent plead for help, only to slump when the old man shook his head and made an 'x' symbol with his arms. He knew that butting in would not protect him from your glare too.
He rather walk straight into a pit of lava than face your glare head-on. Though he melts at the passing thought of you tucking your future child in, sternly telling them its bedtime and that rest is important. He makes his way over, pressing himself against your back, lacing his hand with yours and placed a kiss against your forehead.
~~ He was already suckered from the day you first played together when you were both children. From the shy glances to the shared giggles, to the sleepovers and to the shared secrets. Twilight knew he had to have you as his spouse when you jumped into his arms and kissed him without a thought after he saved Hyrule.
Even as he stared up at the night sky during his watch, he could still remember the sight of you walking down the aisle with a shy yet giddy smile on your lips. He rubbed the ring back and forth as the memories took over his mind, making the time go by fast til he was tapped out by the next watch. He falls asleep easily when his head hit his pillow, with a faint smile on his lips.
~~ He felt smug when the chain jaws dropped at the sight of him running towards his spouse yet ignores them as their squeals and giggles graced his ears. Fierce swung them around softly in the air before slowly lowering them in his embrace, holding them by their waist, closing his eyes and pressing his forehead against theirs. He purrs at the hands that cupped his face, sweet yet butterfly like kisses gracing his skin that soothe the ache that grew in yearning for their touch.
He felt them move away the white strands away from his forehead, placing a kiss against the blue 'v' shaped mark there. He retaliates by placing one against the ring on their finger before opening his eyes to them. Feeling himself melting in their ever so loving and gentle gaze, "You still look radiant, my dear jewel."
Tumblr media
To everybody, Link was a man of few words, and to most, he was intense. Never speaking much, and when he did, his words were blunt, curt, and devoid of vulnerability. He didn’t care what others thought of him, only that he got paid fairly for his work. Though there was a side of him that he didn’t show all that much, a side of him that only reared it’s head depending on the situation. He wasn’t secretly a softie or anything, no no, he was worse.
“That was a tough loss.” Link said while inhaling through his teeth, mocking something close to sympathy. You had just finished a racing competition, which wasn’t something you usually engaged in, simply because you were one to get really competitive and you were a sore loser, but you’d never show it, nor ever confirm it out loud, but you were. it was a fact you couldn’t deny. So you ignored Link’s comment, simply ignoring him as you made your way to your steed, walking a bit faster in hopes Link wouldn’t catch up, because if you were being honest, if you had to look at the grin on his face…you’d probably punch it. Though Link wasn’t having it, taking your silence as a challenge.
You sharply turned a corner in hopes he’d just give up his attempts to get you to lash out at him. Moments from the race replaying in your mind, pissing you off more.  The reason he was so amused by your loss is because you’re known to be one of the most talented racers in the kingdom, and you had come second, and Link of course, was in first. He wasn’t going to let you live this down that much is for sure, not unless you were able to rub his ego into the mud…and then stomp on it multiple times…then maybe setting it on fire. If it was possible, you’d consider traveling across Hyrule to throw it into a volcano.
Lost in your thoughts, with your eyes fixated on the cobblestone path beneath you, you didn’t see the encroaching obstacle in front of you until you collided with it. Looking up at a very unpleasant face. Link didn’t say a word, just staring down at you with that stupid smug face, as if you were smaller than him. Physically yes. But in every other aspect absolutely not, but as much as you hated it, you couldn’t help but feel heat rising to your cheeks at the proximity between the two of you. You stepped to the side to leave him behind yet again, though he mirrored your actions holding his expression.
“Can I help you, asshole?” You spat, sounding like more of a demand rather than a question. But much to your displeasure, your comment only inflated his ego as he tilts his head playfully at you.
“Aw don’t be like that.” He teases, causing your scowl to intensify.
“Shut up. Don’t act like you’re not enjoying this.” You retort. Pushing past him.
“You know me well~” He chuckles. The sound making your stomach flutter.
“Piss off.” Eyes focused on the stable that your Loftwing resides in, sleeping peacefully.
“No. I don’t think I will~” He taunts. Unbeknownst to you, he picks up his pace, inching his face closer to yours, whispering into your ear. “I know you like it when I tease you.” Emitting a sharp gasp from you, whipping your head at him with a look of disbelief, holing a hand over your ear.
“No I don’t!” You retort, a little more enthusiastically than you intended, mentally cursing yourself as you see Link puffing out his chest; and by your red cheeks, it only confirms his statement.
“Yeah?” His tone was quiet, as if you’d both get in trouble if he was heard. But as he starts moving towards you, absent-mindedly stepping back as he did, until your back hits the cold stone wall, only then do you realize it’s just you that’s in trouble. “Then why are you so flustered then?” Asking a question he already knows the answer to.
“I’m not.” You stare at him through your eyelashes, trying to intimidate him, though you know it won’t work. This causes Link to tilt his head once more, but his expression is different this time. He’s looking at you like he wants something…needs something. You immediately pick up on this; his hungry gaze, half-lidded eyes analyzing every inch of your face causing your heart to beat rapidly.
You turn your head away from him to hide your red face. But Link wasn’t having it. He wanted you to squirm under him his gaze, lifting a hand to your chin and tilting it up so you’d look at him. He was surprisingly gentle with his movements, slowly pulling your chin upwards towards him but stopping before your lips could touch. The proximity of your faces causing your eyes to flicker to his lips, only for a moment before meeting his eyes again. Though this didn’t go unnoticed by the man in front of you, causing him to look down at you with a seductive glint in his eyes.
“See something you like?” Link teases, adoring how red you’ve gotten. He moves closer, lips ghosting over each other for a few seconds before you can’t take it anymore and finally kiss him, a hand snaking up his neck; fingers lacing between his soft blonde locks while your other hand lays against his ribcage for support. Your boldness causing Link to chuckle into the kiss, sending heat through your body like shockwaves which only intensifies when his hands find their place on your hips, using them as an anchor to push his body against yours, chests pressed against each other.
He pushes his tongue into your mouth, his hand dragging up your body as it settles on your jaw, pulling you even closer. His kiss is heated, rough, and possessive, as if this was his way of claiming you as his, and deep down, you didn’t mind as much as you said you did, indulging yourself in him. Both of you were growing desperate, frantic even, as if you’ll die if you separate, but sadly breathing is a necessity.
You break the kiss to breathe, but before you can even take a full breath, Links lips find yours again, groaning into your mouth.
“Ahem!” A distant voice echoed. Causing you both to freeze, Link pulling away from your lips to turn his head towards the voice, a trail of saliva connecting the two of you. As Link moved his head, you were mortified to see Zelda standing a few meters away with her arms crossed over her chest, looking at you two clearly unimpressed with what she walked in on. “Link, my father wants to speak with you. He insists you meet with him as soon as…” She trails off, eyes flickering to you for a moment, then back to link. “…you’re done with your little rendezvous.” Zelda finished, turning on her heel and taking her leave.
Link looks back at you with a that same stupid smirk, and your just absolutely traumatized that the princess caught you making out with her knight, but Link has a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“Wanna keep goin?” Link said with optimism. Which pissed you off considering you’re probably not the princess’ favorite person after that; the thought far from pleasant as you pushed him away and stormed off.
“Argh- you’re so stupid! Don’t ever pull that again.” A frustrated hand running through your hair, trying to find something to help you forget about the whole ordeal.
This causes Link to let out a low chuckle, watching the way your hips sway as you fade into the distance.
“That’s what you said last time.”
Aren’t you married? (1200 Follower Raffle)
This time first place winner was @my-insanity-is-an-artform
They asked for Warrior in the sense that he didn’t fall into love, more so stumbled into it and didn’t realize it until much later.
Masterlist
Content under the cut!
Link had always considered himself a romantic but after the war he wasn’t sure if romance was in his future any time soon. It was disheartening to say the least but he was willing to let it go if it meant the safety of others (and his own, but he didn’t want to think about it).
When you had first met, it was… a convenience.
You stopped by to check on the soldier during and after the war. You never would have considered yourself a healer or a medic, but you certainly came to heal those wounded from battle. You brought supplies and food and sweets. Sugar was scarce during the war. The boys appreciated your efforts.
You would stop by the medical bay to check in, listen to them, let them talk and vent and rage and you listened. Link watched you flutter around him bed to bed, letting each man take a moment of your time to get something off of his chest no matter what it could have been.
When his turn came, he was speechless.
Literally. Proxi wouldn’t let him get a single word in as she talked to you. He learned much about you then. You talked to the fairy for a long time. You talked about your life and your hobbies, your motivations and dreams. You seem relieved that you could have a more uplifting conversation after all the anger from the soldiers found in the med bay. Link thought it was endearing and listened to you but before he could so much as introduce his own name, it was time for you to go.
Unwilling to let that slip past you, you were determined to get Link to open his mouth and have an actual conversation with you while he was there. You came every week after that.
Sometimes Link would be getting treated like everyone else, other times he was there to support the wounded, not too dissimilar to what you were doing from the start. Just with less sweets.
Whenever he was fine, you stopped to chat with him, Proxi letting him get a word in at last. When he was injured it was another thing. You’d visit him with a disappointed look on your face that Link couldn’t help but shy away from. Proxi would talk over him here too.
Slowly, a good friend and comfortable friendship was born. After the war, he kept in contact with you through letters and the occasional house visit. He’d have to go to your house more often than not because it was hard for you to get into the castle but he didn’t mind. It was an excuse to get out more often than not as well.
You both grew comfortable with each other.
He felt safe with you. He felt as if he could tell you about everything. He saw your humble means of living. Your big heart and your care. You were inherently affectionate. Always hugging him and hanging off of his arms. Patting his head and throwing yourself on top of him. At first he was a little put off by it- but then he saw you do the same to literally anyone you felt remotely comfortable around.
He took it like a badge of honor.
You confided in him. You let him in. You called him out on his bullheaded stubbornness time and time again. You didn’t care about his title or his status. You just cared if he came back. He got bonus points if he came back uninjured.
But then portals started opening up again and the monsters were acting suspicious. He was called to investigate. Effective immediately.
He had to tell you. But he was pressured to leave at once.  Link wrote it in a letter and hoped it wouldn’t be too disappointing that he couldn’t tell you in person. He explained everything he could in the letter with the short window he had to gather his things and head out.
He left.
The things he came in contact with were astonishing. The people he met. The things he saw.
He wrote to you as much as he could, not missing a single detail if he could help it.
The others in the group would tease him occasionally. “Who’re you writing to, Captain?” They’d say with wide smiles. “Who’s got you all soft eyed and smiley?”
“Someone special.” He’d say and leave it at that.
Link spent some time thinking about  if he should be trying to find you something from this journey. Something special. Or maybe something simple enough that he could send it with his letters. He collected a few things that he thought you would like but there was always something off about them. They just didn’t seem to click in the ways he wanted them too.
Link was further teased over his picky nature in trying to find you a gift but it’s not his fault! He really wanted you to like it. And at the same time he hoped it would soften the blow of not being able to say goodbye to your face. The thought haunts him. Worse yet, he knows that it would haunt you. That’s why he’s so persistent in writing his letters.
You need to know that he’s ok.
There was a moment of peace where the group had found themselves in Link’s hometown. After the obligatory greetings to all of his old neighbors and friends, they make their way to the castle. Link is beside himself with anxiety. He knows that he should report to Zelda first after so much time spent away. It’s not as if he was writing to her after all. She knows next to nothing and would most likely like to meet the others as well.
They make it to the castle and this is where the boys in the group expect Link to break down and meet the person he’s kept secret for all this time. But Link knows better. You wouldn’t be here. You have no reason to be. The castle never gave you an easy time entering despite his assurances to the guards.
Zelda comes in and he salutes her as he should. They speak. He introduces the others and can see some of them with “knowing” smirks and smiles. He’s not entirely sure why they’re so sure it’s Zelda that he’s been worried about meeting.
“Link?”
Everyone turns their head to the sound of the voice.
Warrior perks up in an instant and runs to you. You don’t question it and run to him as well.
The sound of your collision is a solid thunk, nearly knocking the both of you off of your feet. Neither of you care.
Link holds you tightly and cards his fingers through your hair. He’s missed this. He’s missed you something awful. He chuckles a little to himself, ignoring the way his eyes get a little wet. “Hey.”
You’re not so subtle with your tears. You pull back and smack his shoulder. “Jerk! You didn’t even say goodbye!”
He winces. “I know. I’m sorry.”
“You just left me a letter!”
“I know. I didn’t have time-”
“Shut up!” You start crying. “I don’t want to hear it! Why didn’t you send Proxi to yell at me? I understand if you couldn’t come… but… but… You scared me…”
Link reaches out to you again and pulls you close. “I know. I’m sorry. Have you been getting my letters in the meantime?”
You nod and wipe your eyes, dropping your head defeatedly on his chest. “Idiot. I woke up one day and read that you could have been leaving forever. I was three seconds from following you. I stormed into the castle and Queen Zelda herself had to talk me down.”
Link kisses the top of your head, trying to ignore his desire to snort at your poor expense. “I’m sure she finally learned what I have to deal with on a daily basis.”
“Idiot.” You say lovingly.
“I got you something.” He says in a low voice, reaching into his pockets. “A few things actually. I wasn’t sure what you would like the most.”
A soft blush dusts itself across your cheek and you reach into the satchel around your hip. “I.. actually had something for you too. That’s why I came to the castle.” You wipe your tears away with an obnoxious sniffle. “I was going to ask Queen Zelda if I could talk to Lana about sending this to you.”
It’s some baked sweets, another letter and more supplies for his journey. Healing potions. Magic potions. Bandages. It’s what you always gave to the soldier when you visited the medical bay and then some. Familiarity tugs at his heart strings and he holds it close to his chest.
“...Thank you…”
“Are we ever going to be introduced?” Wild calls from the distance, one of the boys of the group. Link can feel himself pale slightly. In his ecstasy of seeing you again, he had completely forgotten they were there.
Link takes your hand protectively, stepping in a way that would hide you behind him somewhat. “No. As you were.”
Some of them laugh and Time, the oldest, steps forward. “Would it be so wrong to want to meet your beloved?”
Something in Link’s mind clicks. He’s tempted to let go of your hand but you’re still holding onto him. “....No?... They’re not… we’re not…”
You look up at him. “Are we? I thought so…”
Link pales further. “Wait. Hold on. What? Did you?”
The youngest of the group tilts his head in confusion. “I thought you were married?”
Link shakes his head. “No. I’m not married. What gave you that idea? I’ve been single this entire time…” He looks back at you and then back to the group to amend his statement. “I thought I was single this entire time.”
“Oh by Hylia, the Captain is an idiot!” Legend, his typical ranger, starts laughing so hard he nearly doubles over onto the floor. “I mean this isn’t exactly new information.”
“Shut up.” Link growls, holding your hand a little tighter. He turns around, putting his hands on your shoulders. “Did you seriously think we were together this entire time? I don’t recall that conversation whatsoever.”
You nod, growing sheepish. “Yes. I told you I liked you. You said you like me too. I thought that was that.”
Link stares at you for a moment longer, ignoring the way the group taunt him for his lack of perception. “Seriously?”
“Yup…” You bite your lip, blushing brightly. “Um… I’m sorry. I guess it’s my fault. I assumed and well-”
“Works for me.” Link kisses you, cutting you off before the words could even process in his mind. He cups your jaw and tilts your head to give him the perfect angle. The group behind him seem to only shout louder as they witness this glorious train wreck in front of them. Link doesn’t care in the slightest that he’s caused this kind of commotion.
You’re taken by surprise and are left wide eyed and struck dumb when he pulls away. Link swallows harshly, running his thumbs over your cheeks. “I’ll do better by you… I promise.”
You nod, robotically.
Link… realizes that was incredibly impulsive and slowly feels a wave of shame build up within him. He pulls you in close again to kiss your forehead before he can second guess it.
He had no idea where that came from or where he gathered the drive to do so. However, he knows that it felt right and perfect and that it was long overdue.
Link smiles at you, feeling the need to kiss you again. He drops his hand to your shoulders again and holds you gently. “I don’t know how long I’ll be here, since we’re not done, but we’ll be able to talk in the meantime, ok?”
You gulp and nod again. You bite your lip again as your blush darkens. “Perfect.”
if I was the guide I would try to help link more then just help him with puzzles and where to go next. I would try helping with enemies and bosses by distracting them, help with stealth missions by making noise to distract guards, scavenge for things like rupees, bombs, arrows, food ect, for them, watch over link while he slept,help teach them how to play instruments cuz i doubt they would automatically know how to play, help keep them warm at night, let link vent and not bottle up his emotions,ya know cuz the poor boy deserves some help. Maybe guide reader help teach the links how to fight, cuz time, wind, and maybe legend, hyrule and how to sword fight cuz there's no way time and wind would know how to sword fight when their journeys first began, they were just kids, legend and four might have cuz legends uncle knew how to use a sword and fours grandfather is a blacksmith and in the four swords manga his father is captain of the hyrule knights, hyrule I don't honestly know if the fairies taught him how to fight with weapons, twilight was taught by rusl, sky, warriors and calamity were training/were already knights, wild would definitely have to be re taught how to fight again, and sage already remembered/ relearned how. I don't know how old first, korodai and courage were when they first learned,How would the chain react to that if they remembered? Sorry it's so long.😅
Sorry this one’s been sitting so long! This is going to be a bit of a ramble, but it’ll make sense! Took some liberties!!
Player/Guide!reader is the epitome of comfort to the boys. Much of their lives they have been taught through experience to trust no one —not even their own goddess— lest they get a dagger in the back. And at first they are cautious. A person with no ties to hyrule who is so eerily familiar with the heroes and utterly bewitching? They’re half convinced you are a trick, meant to play on their insecurities and trauma.
Time gathers his recollections first. He remembers your calm voice correcting his form and swings, your encouragement to keep improving— not with the intent of killing, but with only his safety at heart. He’d buried his blade within the thick trunk of a tree and heard your old whispers through his ears, and it all made sense. That even as his bones were cracked and reformed and the threads of time unraveled, you were consistent. Even when he wasn’t the same him that you loved before, you were back again. Protecting him, even if he didn’t need it. You were arms for him to return to and someone to hold and love.
Legend remembered almost on accident. He’d bolted up from the solid earth, rings snagging at his hair as his fingers tugged at the root. His chest rose and fell rapidly, like that of a frightened animal. You’d cautiously found your way in front of him, talking him down from the world within. Your hands massaged his palms easing the tension and removing his hair from his grip. You’d done this many times before, he realised. You were all he had for the months after leaving Koholint, your unconditional love despite his less than stellar attitude was something he felt guilty to forget. But perhaps now he’d be content to make up for it by letting you keep him there, curled up against your chest… even if he’d get some teasing.
Twilight didn’t actually remember on his own. In fact, he’s so stubborn and protective over the ‘pack’ that he likely wouldn’t have if it weren’t for Epona. For a large part, he trusted her judgment. Most animals did have a keener sense for natural disasters, but she always seemed to have a good sense of character. Sure, it was odd enough she ate right out of your hand with a happy nicker, but she just really liked apples. She’s a horse, she’s easily bribed. But even then, he’s not sure how much bribing it would take for her to lay down and let you braid flowers through her freshly brushed mane. It was trust. From all the other times you did it absentmindedly —occasionally even to him— it seems her trust in character was still sharp.
Warriors was actually slightly embarrassed by how he came to remember. Dripping wet from the rain and favourite cloak littered with mud and holes, he was rather cranky. He got showered and changed —thank the three they were at an inn— and decided to leave the stained and worn clothes as a tomorrow problem. That was until his prized blanket scarf found its way into to your mits. He tried to snatch it back, earning some odd looks and the shutter of the sheikah slate. You were frustratingly difficult to catch. It seemed that hadn’t changed. When he was ultimately successful, however, he realised that you’d actually been making an incredibly successful job at washing and repairing it as you’d done thousands of times before. He remembers you my firelight, cobalt swathed over your lap as your needle glided through the fabric. He remembered trying to imitate your stitches. He remembered how he never quite got it right.
He let you finish working.
Four was having a crisis. Do not let his indifference fool you, this man is a wreck. Best believe that beyond his surprisingly stubborn stoicism, the colors are shaking each other by the shoulders and screaming. Red recognised you immediately. His heart was quite literally moulded after your soft words and carefully love, he couldn’t forget you so long as he had a soul. Green being the mediator between them all and heard his quiet utters. The most honest a man could be that his adoration was infectious. It was you who taught him who he was. Blue took a while. So strong-willed in his stance, the he forgot you were the one to teach him to take a stand. He forgot it was you who willed him to fight for what he loved. Vio fell last, what would you expect of the mind. He hardly noticed it. The way his thoughts timed to you, the way he sought your presence and craved your voice. It was you who taught them how to be separate and yet loved them wholly. And such loyalty could only be payed back.
Wind remembered you in fragments. He remembers his parent by oath, who shielded him from the vast world he was so desperate to see. He didn’t understand it at first. But loosing you, especially when his memory wasn’t fully gone like the others, was rough. He mourned and grieved, even if he didn’t realise it. He missed being cared for. Without the looming question of what favor needed done or when it would go away. He missed you. It took a while to heal. For him to feel ok trusting in people again, even eventually curling up next to Wars when he’d try to sleep. He felt guilty, as if he were betraying you when you dug up dead feelings. But it’s hard to be a rebellious rascal when your partner in crime is finally returned to you especially after you were concerned you killed them. It takes him a while to process your back, but he’s back at your side, tugging you along by the hand as he explains his next devious prank.
Hyrule remembers you through his magic. The way your heart stutters as he heals you is familiar, a beat he’s fallen asleep to many times before and the life within it is one he can’t help but feel… connected to. He keeps a close eye out, his ears wiggling at the familiar music of your laugh and his skin unfamiliar without your own to cradle it. You share a spirit with them, a bit of your soul and theirs and a small both of theirs in you. And yet his mind can’t call out to why. It keeps him awake, taunting at him. But he knows his soul yearns for the part with yours. He knows the rush of your blood and song of your soul. He knows he loves you. Even if he doesn’t get why.
Wild takes so long to remember you for exactly the reasons you’d expect. His mind hides away the most crucial parts of itself in plain sight, never to be noticed or recognized until the memories are far too warped and rotten to actually remember anything. Anything of note, that is. But for what it’s worth, he never really perceived you as a threat. You were homey and comfortable, a trait so unfamiliar to his life of travel, he didn’t care if it left a sword in his stomach. Besides, not any yiga could take on an act that long. He took off the cooked eggs and set them onto a separate plate as you sat quietly, Wind strewn over your torso. You hummed softly the same work song he’d sung for years. One for which he didn’t know the origin, not until hearing you for what felt like the first time again. He couldn’t help but hum along.
Sky was cursed to forget you.
I must preface because he is a lover boy first and hero second. He wouldn’t care who Demise was, nor his business, so long as you were safe and loved. He loved you more than each and every star in the sky. And he’d already began to start planning your home. He knew he loved you. He knew he was made to love you. And that was exactly why he was made to forget you. That loyalty was scary to the gods. That one would devote themselves to another for little more than love in return— Hylia could not risk her heroes to stray. But try as she might she couldn’t surpress you. Not when you were already married, souls intertwined through every timeline. Your role varied, a healer, a helping hand, a comfort, a home, a parent, a lover, a souse. But you were always someone to Link. No matter what the gods declared. He remembered you only after all the others had, but he’s alright with that.
