The Gaang and what their favorite horror movies are

This is just my opinion but also i feel like I’m right

Aang: Okay, so Aang hates horror movies. He’ll watch them, because his friends like them, but he can’t STAND THEM! He hates gore, he hates psychological things, he hates all that stuff. Which is why his favorite is It (chapter 1) He likes seeing all the friends hang out and defeat the evil clown but if asked if he prefers the remakes vs the original TV movie he’ll say he likes Tim Curry’s Pennywise better because he didn’t have to actually SEE him eat Georgie’s arm. Also if someone even suggests Pet Sematary or Cujo he’ll go home

Katara: Aliens 100% she adores the movie and she thinks sigourney weaver is a badass. She has gone as Ellen Ripley for halloween once but it was before her and Aang were dating because now she just does couple costumes with him. But yeah, she saw Aliens at a young age and was first pretty freaked out by it, but after watching it again when she was older she fell in love with the story and how a badass woman survived all that shit. But like, in the same breath as she says her fave horror is Aliens, she says she can’t watch Coraline because it creeps her out. And also fuck Aliens Resurrection

Suki: She loves the cult classics of any variation. She’ll sit down and be the one to suggest things like Ice Cream Man, Reanimator, Slumber Party Massacre etc. However, if you even THINK about suggesting Nightmare on Elm Street she’ll take the suggestion and RUN WITH IT. She has a finger knife replica she keeps on display in her apartment. She has been Freddy for halloween three years in a row. And if she’s not Freddy, she’s a character from Dream Warriors. She has a specialty drinking game for watching Freddy vs Jason

Toph: She changes her answer every single time for the sake of chaos, choosing worse and worse *worse is relative* movies each time they’ll ask. One time she’ll say the Leprechauns franchise. Then Halloween 2 (the one that is barely apart of halloween canon) Killer Klowns from outer space, Demonic Toys, what have you. Nobody knows her actual answer. But that’s because they didn’t believe her when she said it was Suspiria, the remake not the original, because of how much of a sensory overload that movie is (but that’s exactly why she likes it because the sound design makes it obvious as to what’s happening even without them turning on the audio description)

Sokka: You can’t look me in the eye and tell me this boy doesn’t love SCREAM and Scary Movie. Will say “Cindy this is a skeleton! This is bones!” at any given chance. The deeper into the franchises the less he’s into them, but he still knows almost every line. Other than those two series though he has a hard time with horror movies. He doesn’t admit that they genuinely do freak him out sometimes. But after every single horror movie night he always gets caught up in debates with Suki or Zuko about how realistic they are and the logical chance of them happening. Which is why he likes Scream so much because it’s just two dudes he could fight off. But with spirits and aliens he’s not into it. He has to watch comedies after horror nights so he can sleep after

Zuko: “What do you mean you don’t think the Lighthouse counts as a horror movie?” and “Vertigo is a fucking classic. It’s a Hitchcock movie, we’re watching it” Zuko likes psychological horror or classics. And when he says classics he means CLASSIC classics. Body horror doesn’t really phase him, but his friends always check in if fire is involved. He likes The Shining on principle because he feels like he’s supposed to (although he liked the characterization in the book more) Any movie night he always picks art house horrors and has made them watch Only Lovers Left Alive on three separate occasions. He was banned from picking the movie for two weeks because he talked Aang into watching A Page of Madness and the poor kid couldn’t sleep for a week (neither could Sokka but he apologized to him in a different way). He won’t touch American Psycho with a ten foot pole though. The only one who knows Zuko’s actual favorite horror movie is Sokka and it’s because Zuko makes him use his turn to suggest it. “We should watch the Zombieland movies back to back”
