I see a lot of discussions about whether relationships in the locked tomb are romantic or if it’s platonic, and here’s the thing: it doesn’t matter

that’s kind of the whole point. love is beyond labels like that, it doesn’t need them. it doesn’t matter if it’s platonic or romantic or a secret third thing - what matters is that there’s love, love to the ends of the world, love in carrying someone’s soul, love in making soup of your brain so that you don’t destroy the person you cannot fathom an existence without. love that transcends death.

Sean and the manifestations of his egos except the egos do not regard themselves as real living human beings because they aren’t, they are Sean’s characters and Sean is terrified when they say things like, “whatever fate you have for us is our fate. We are tools and vehicles for your story. Use us in your story in whatever way you see fit,” with a smile before seamlessly going back into character. Even when Sean treats them like humans because it’s hard not to, they will play along in character, but will always remind Sean of what they truly are if he ever finds it hard to choose to hurt them

I haven't found out yet what happened to Randall or any of that, I'm only a little bit into the flashback sequence in Miracle Mask, but there's a really clear throughline that's making me emotional about Kat and her story.

Kat considers herself a world-class puzzle solver and loves them. She learned how to love them from her father, who taught her how to solve them and left it behind with her when it was his time to go

But what we see in MM is how he came to become a world-class puzzle solver who loves them. He learned how to love them from Randall, who taught him how to solve them and left it behind with him when it was his time to go

And that's not the only example of this!

He gave her her top hat, which matches his, which was a gift from Claire. He also taught her how to be an English gentlewoman, like how he is an English gentleman, which is another thing that Claire started.

So much of who Katrielle comes from who her father was, and so much of that comes from those that he loved and lost but still found a way to live on in his actions and character, which made him who he was so he could love his daughter and leave her with his legacy, and all any of us are is an amalgamation of those who loved us, who in turn are the amalgamation of those who loved them, and so on and so forth, and I think that's beautiful.

Is there any conceivable redemption for Cartman in your mind? Not necessarily in mcau, but in general? It's been shown in the show that he can change (in tsst specifically), though it's also easy for him to slip back into himself. Personally I think any chance of him changing for good would necessitate him leaving South Park and the boys (Kyle, mostly), which given how much his sense of self is built around, would possibly be an exercise in futility?

so in general i don’t believe that anyone is beyond redemption, ESPECIALLY when they’re fictional, so if cartman were a character in basically any other source material besides south park i would say that no, he is not beyond redemption! the issue here is that if cartman were to be redeemed, there would be no south park, so narratively he quite literally cannot have a redemption arc. i feel like post covid shows this perfectly, as no one else in their friend group can fully thrive (yes, even rich scientist kenny) at the same time as cartman. it just can’t happen. so, yes, the only way he could POSSIBLY achieve redemption is for him to leave the town and have no contact real with any of the other three, but what is the town without cartman? and also, if cartman is redeemed, is that even cartman?

The irrationality of awakened feelings

Theory: The Empty is little bit in love with Cas.

When The Empty took on Cas's "little thoughts," it became something. It ALSO a la Amara, got a weird connection to Cas.

It...."felt everything that you feel."

And now? The Empty is tormented by its own awakened feelings, and it cannot sleep.

At some points, it knows perhaps that it may be in love with him, but it's ANGRY about that. (Whereas Amara "would never hurt Dean," all the Shadow wants to do is hurt Castiel.)

That's ALSO why it took on Meg's face in the end. (It's cognizant of its own emotions that it's jealous. Jealous enough that it doesn't want to try to BE Dean.)

Because, reasons.

It wants to be an Individual, and well. Meg took on the face and name of another, and The Empty resonated with that aspect.

It doesn't know what to do with It all.

It doesn't know how to be an individual or parse those emotions.

So, it covets. It rages.

You ever think about how in s1 after Seylah realized who Landon was, all she wanted to do was keep him safe and make sure he was okay. So much so that she jumped into malivore to ensure it. And how in s4 after Landon told her that he had a great life, she was okay with leaving him in limbo, not knowing if he would be okay or if/when he would be able to leave there.
