okay i know logically that hals fathers flight jacket would be an a1 model most likely (as it is MOSTLY, tho not always, depicted in comic) BUT i have a love for the naval aviator g1 jackets soooo…

in order for it to be a g1 (aka the model i like more) ive decided that martin jordan was originally a navy aviator, which earned him the g1 that eventually became hals, but moved from navy to air force (uncommon but not unheard of) before becoming a test pilot. basically just gives me a reason to draw hal in a g1, even those are traditionally naval pilot coats, not for ppl in the air force. idc tho lmao.

also hal has one of the more modern air force jackets as well and a a1/a2 air force jacket, and he wears those as well! but if you see him in the fluffy one? thats his dads
