🐌: the whole live action thoughts came from my (kinda sort of) very intense blink roommate talking about jisoo in orv and i had a bit of a breakdown sorry yalls the la cast is still a sore spot for me,,, so anyways i ended up going through a list of rookie actors of 2023 and personally, i think among that list i can see Yoo In Soo as yoon jong, Bae Hyun Sung as lee songbaek,,,,,,, and hear me out for chung myung,,, maybeeeee Yoo Jung Woo could potentially fit?? jo gul might be the hardest idk??? i can only think of Yoon Hyun Soo because his character in "a good day to be a dog" has brown curly hair and if i gaslight myself enough it kinda looks like jo gul
Ryu Seung-ryong needs to play as Hong Dae Kwang this is non-negotiable TO ME lol,,, maybe if he grew a beard and kept his hair long maybeeeeeeeeeee Shin Ha-kyun could play tang gunak...... you know what??? what if we throw in irene from red velvet as yoo iseol for good measure????
IM NOT A LIVE ACTION ENTHUSIAST SO IM JUST GONNA HAVE TO TAKE UR WORD FOR ALL THIS.. i can agree w bae hyun sung as lee songbaek tho i can kinda see a resemblance..

Moon Ga-young X Yoo Yeon-seok, even a date with Jung Dong-jin due to continued coincidence
Tumblr media
Yoo Yeon-seok and Moon Ga-young and continued coincidences overlapped.
Ha Sang-soo (Yoo Yeon-seok) and Ahn Soo-young (Moon Ga-young) met in a place that could have been the beginning of a relationship in the JTBC Wednesday/Thursday drama 'Understanding Love' (played by Lee Seo-hyun, Lee Hyun-jung, director Jo Young-min, production SLL) aired on the 18th. showed regret
Han Jung-im (Seo Jeong-yeon) went to Ha Sang-su's house and talked about Yoon Mi-sun (Yoon Yoo-seon). Earlier, Han Jeong-im learned from a conversation with Yoon Mi-sun, her regular customer, that her son and Yoon Mi-sun's daughter were dating. Han Jeong-im worried about Ha Sang-su, saying, “Do you know what kind of house it is?”, but cheered him on, saying, “I agree with that relationship.
Park Mi-kyung, who learned Ha Sang-soo's heart, met Ahn Soo-young. Ahn Soo-young said, "What's wrong? Your expression looks a bit dark." Park Mi-kyung gave a different answer from her heart, saying, "I'm so happy these days. I'm so good with my seniors." Then, he said, "So I want to know more about you," and asked, "How was your senior? I thought I would know better. Didn't you really date someone? Did you like it or flirt?" When Ahn Soo-young didn't answer, Park Mi-kyung said, "Well, what does that matter? I'm the one I like right now," and she pretended to be calm.
Jeong Jong-hyun knocked on Ahn Soo-young's room and asked, "Can I come in?" Jeong Jong-hyun, who entered Ahn Soo-young's room, apologized, saying, "I'm sorry. I'm such an ugly person." Then, he confessed her inner thoughts, "Still, I like Soo-young a lot. That's why she is here." Jeong Jong-hyun cautiously approached Ahn Soo-young and kissed her. The two made love, but when Jeong Jong-hyeon fell asleep, Ahn Soo-yeong came out of her room and drank her tea, lost in thought.
Ha Sang-soo asked Ahn Soo-young, "Would you like some coffee?", and Ahn Soo-young replied, "No." When Ha Sang-soo was taken aback, Ahn Soo-young replied, "Please change clothes and come out, please ride", making Ha Sang-su laugh. Ha Sang-soo, who came over to get her coffee, saw Ahn Soo-yeong researching her job transition and lent her her own book. At this time, Park Mi-kyung went to work, and Ha Sang-soo approached Park Mi-kyung. Park Mi-kyung asked, “Shall we have coffee?” and Ha Sang-soo answered, “Would you like a cup of coffee too?” and went to the bathroom. In response, Park Mi-kyung looked at Ahn Soo-young, who was drinking her coffee, and she fell into thought.
Jeong Jong-hyun, who failed the test, packed his things at Ahn Soo-young's house and came back in a few days. When Ahn Soo-young saw Jung Jong-hyun, he was angry, saying, "I haven't been able to contact you for several days." Jeong Jong-hyun evaded his answer, saying, "I wanted to cool my head." Ahn Soo-young found out that she was in the pc room while Jeong Jong-hyun left the house, and asked to talk. Jeong Jong-hyun said, "I failed the test. I didn't know how to say it." When Ahn Soo-yeong comforted her by saying, “I can see her better next time,” Jeong Jong-hyun got angry, saying, “I may not be able to see her more.”
Ahn Soo-young and Ha Sang-soo also failed the job transition test. So Kyung-pil (played by Moon Tae-yu) said, “The branch manager did that,” and guessed that the reason Ha Sang-soo failed was because he was angry with Ahn Soo-young.
So Kyung-pil said to Park Mi-kyung, who pretended not to be anxious about the relationship between Ahn Soo-young and Ha Sang-soo, "Thrilling? .
Noh Tae-pyeong (played by Lee Hwa-ryong) asked Sang-soo Ha and Soo-young Ahn to pay his condolences when he heard the news that a VIP customer had passed away. After the condolences, the two people on the return train talked about failing the exam. Ahn Soo-young asked, "I regret it. You fell because of me." Ha Sang-soo replied, “Of course I regret it.
Ha Sang-soo suggested to Ahn Soo-yeong that they get off at Jeongdongjin Station, and the two got off at Jeongdongjin and walked along the beach. To Ha Sang-soo, who revealed his heart subtly, Ahn Soo-young avoided the awkward situation by saying, "I think it's too late. Shall we stop?" While waiting for the train, Ha Sang-soo asked, “Are you happy?” Ahn Soo-young, who had no answer for a long time, said, “Shall we break up? With Jong-hyun.” Ha Sang-soo looked at Ahn Soo-young with sad eyes, frozen as it was.

'Song Hae-gil' found even by Japanese broadcasters
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 'national MC' Song Hae, who has made us happy for over half a century, has passed away. He died at the age of 95.
Songhae passed away on the morning of the 8th at her home in Dogok-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He recently went to the hospital for health problems, and in March his body was debilitating as he contracted COVID-19 at an advanced age. As he met in relatively healthy condition until recently, his acquaintances could not hide their dismay at the sudden news.
On this day, 'Songhae-gil', located in Nakwon-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul was also crowded with citizens than ever before. White chrysanthemum flowers were piled up in front of the statue that saw the Songhae, and citizens on their way home from work stopped their way to pay tribute to the deceased. A reporter from a Japanese broadcasting company also went to 'Song Hae-gil' to interview citizens and capture the mourning scene on camera.
'Songhae-gil', a 244-meter road that leads from Yukuijeon Building to Nakwon Shopping Street, is an alley in Nakwon-dong where Songhae, a native of Jaeryung, Hwanghae-do, opened the 'Elderly Celebrities Sangnok' office and made it his base for over 50 years, and regarded it as his second hometown. In 2011, Jongno-gu was selected as an honorary resident in gratitude for Songhae's dedication, and in 2016, at the suggestion of residents, part of the road was designated as Songhae-gil. It is reported that Song Hae visited the 'Sangnokhoe' office until recently.
In the funeral hall of Seoul National University Hospital in Jongno-gu, Seoul, where her burial place was set up, rooms 2 and 3 were filled with mourners commemorating her deceased.
Yoo Jae-seok and Jo Se-ho were the first to visit the mortuary. The two arrived at the funeral home before the start of the mourning to mourn the deceased. Afterwards, the funeral chairperson Um Young-soo, Kim Heung-guk, Im Ha-ryong, Kim Hak-rae, Johnny-ri, Jo Young-nam, Lee Sang-byeok, Lee Yong-sik, Kim Su-yong, Hong Rok-ki, Yoon Hyeong-ju, and Jang Min-ho, etc. Political figures such as Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Park Bo-gyun, former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn, Gyeonggi Governor-elect Kim Dong-yeon, and National Assemblyman Joo Ho-young also followed.
At the mortuary, there was a harmony sent by former Prime Minister Kim Bu-gyeom, the founder of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Park Bo-gyun, the production team of 'Immortal Song', Kim Tae-ho, Na Hoon-ah, Lee Mi-ja, Yoo Hee-yeol, Taeyeon, and Ma Dong-seok.
In commemoration of Song Hae's contribution to the development of Korean popular culture and arts, President Yoon Seok-yeol conferred the 'Gold Crown Order of Cultural Merit', which is a first-class decoration.
He continued, "I can't help feeling saddened by the news of Mr. Song Hae's passing. As a singer, comedian, and national MC for over half a century, he brought great laughter and emotion to the people," he said. It is very regrettable that we will not be able to see each other again, but the friendly songs and stories of our neighbors who cried and laughed every Sunday day and day with the teacher's friendly society will remain in the hearts of the people for a long time."
In response, Eom Young-soo, chairman of the funeral committee, said, "The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism delivered the Golden Medal of Cultural Merit from President Yoon to Teacher Song Hae. Thank you to all the fans who gave us a lot of support."
Song Hae's funeral will be held on three days as the president of the Korea Broadcasting Comedians Association. Her funeral is at 5 am on the 10th, and a funeral ceremony will be held for 30 minutes prior to this. Her burial site is Songhae Park in Okpo-ri, Dalseong-gun, Daegu, where her wife Seok-oki, who passed away first in 2018, is sleeping. During her lifetime, they are buried together according to the wishes of her deceased.
Meanwhile, Song Hae, born in Jaeryeong, Hwanghae Province, on April 27, 1927, fled to South Korea during the Korean War in 1951 after learning vocal music at Haeju Arts School. He made his debut through the Changgong Music Theater in 1955, and has been the MC of 'National Singing Pride' since 1988, and has been broadcasting for 34 years, receiving much love as 'Sunday Man' and 'Oldest National MC'. In April, he entered the British Guinness World Record for 'Oldest TV music talent show host'.

Parade Celebrates 73rd Founding Anniversary of Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK)
Sept. 9: The parade of paramilitary and public security forces for celebrating the 73rd founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was held in splendor at Kim Il Sung Square.
There was a special entrance ceremony of the combined militant band. Parachutists showed landing skill, covering the nocturnal sky in September with national flags. A column of escort planes flew past the sky above the square and fighters in the form of a fan shot off crackers, revving up the festive mood. The Ensemble of the State Affairs Commission and the Central Military Band of the Ministry of National Defence for playing music for parade took their seats at the square for rendition.
Parade columns of paramilitary and public security forces entered the square throwing out their might all around, to the tune of entrance music. At 00:00 on Thursday, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, came to the platform of the square. The moment, thunderous cheers of "hurrah!" and loud chanting of "Kim Jong Un" and "devoted defence" resounded through and fireworks shot off, presenting fantastic sea of fireworks.
Kim Jong Un extended warm greetings to all the people of the country celebrating the founding anniversary of the dignified country, waving back to the enthusiastically cheering participants in the parade and in the celebrations. Kim Jong Un and cadres of the Party, government and military were presented with fragrant bouquets by members of the Children's Union. Taking the platform were Choe Ryong Hae, Jo Yong Won, Kim Tok Hun and Pak Jong Chon. Taking the platform also were cadres of the Party and the government, leading officials of the Cabinet, commissions, ministries and national institutions, labor innovators and persons of merits who made distinguished contributions to the development of the DPRK. Also taking the platform were leading officials of the armed forces organs. Present at the platform on invitation were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Kim Kyong Ok and Kim Jong Im who worked for the Party and the government for a long time.
The reviewing stands were taken by the participants in the celebrations. There was a solemn ceremony of raising a national flag. All the citizens expressed noble respects for the national flag. There was a 21-gun salute amid the playing of the song "The Glorious Motherland".
Ri Il Hwan, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, made a speech. Then there was an inspection for the preparations for the parade. Commander of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards Kang Sun Nam reported to Jo Yong Won, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary for Organizational Affairs of the WPK Central Committee, that units of parade have lined up to get their preparations checked. Jo Yong Won inspected the units of parade. He courteously reported to the General Secretary of the WPK that paramilitary and public security forces are ready to start the parade for celebrating the 73rd founding anniversary of the DPRK.
The solemn parade of paramilitary and public security forces began. Entering the square first led by the lead car of the commander of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards was the column of the Pyongyang City Division of Party members. They are the creators of feats and fighters who devotedly carried out the Party's policies to win a victory in the campaign for protecting the people as fitting the detached corps dispatched by the Party Central Committee to the sites for recovery from disaster last year.
Following them were the column of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards of Pyongyang City, militia force defending the capital city, led by Chief Secretary of the City Party Committee of the Kim Yong Hwan and the columns of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards in North Phyongan Province and South Phyongan Province, standing guard over the border and the gateway to the capital as an impregnable fortress, each led by Chief Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committees Mun Kyong Dok and An Kum Chol.
They were followed by the columns of the red guards of North and South Hwanghae Provinces, ranks of those taking charge of the agricultural front, led by Chief Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committees Pak Chang Ho and Pak Song Chol. The columns of the red guards of Jagang and Kangwon Provinces led by Chief Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committees Kang Pong Hun and Kim Su Gil showed well the unusual pride and self-esteem of creating the spirit of the times while overcoming grim difficulties before the country and the revolution. Marching past in fine array next were the columns of the red guards of North and South Hamgyong Provinces and Ryanggang Province, being led by Chief Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committees Kim Chol Sam, Ri Jong Nam and Ri Thae Il.
Kim Jong Un sent militant salute to the columns marching past in fine array.
The columns of the Ministry of Railways and the Air Koryo Administration marched past the square. As the column of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex which is the large-scale base of metallurgical industry in the northern part of the country, the column of the Huichon Ryonha Machine Factory that gave an origin of industrial revolution in the new century and the column of the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex which is an arsenal of socialist agricultural front entered the square, the people warmly congratulated the ranks of the heroic working class. It was followed by the column of the Rakwon General Machine Enterprise and the Chollima Steel Complex.
Entering the square following it was the columns of the Ryongsong Machine Complex, the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex and the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill. The columns of emergency epidemic prevention and the Ministry of Public Health were full of patriotic enthusiasm to display the advantages of the socialist system all over the world, while firmly protecting the security of the country and its people from the worldwide pandemic. There were also the column of the State Academy of Sciences, and the column of men of culture and art and sportspersons made up of those artistes, moviemen and sportspersons who contributed to exalting the honor of the country and opening up the efflorescence of socialist culture.
Then there were the columns of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and the Young Red Guards. Following the paramilitary force columns, ranks of public security forces marched past the platform.
Kim Jong Un sent encouraging salute to the parading columns marching past in fine array, displaying the invincibility as the dependable political guard force of our Party and the elite force holding a share of the revolutionary armed forces.
The first column was the cavalry task force column of the Public Security Forces. It was followed by a military dog search column. The mechanized columns of the Worker-Peasant Red guards entered the square, demonstrating the vitality of our Party's military line for self-defence. Following the column of the motorcycles, those in charge of the farm mechanization who were operational in the socialist cooperative fields rolled past the square driving tractors hauling artillery pieces to pound the aggressors and their vassal forces with annihilating firepower in case of emergency. The mechanized columns roared past the square, reminding that our country has turned into an impregnable fortress with a powerful militia capable of carrying out whatever operations and battles independently together with the invincible regular army.
The column of fire brigade of the Public Security Forces was the last one that concluded the parade. At the end of the parade, fireworks shot off again and an evening gala of youth and students began at the square. The spectacular fireworks added to the enthusiasm and optimism of youth and students.
After the evening gala and the display of fireworks, stormy cheers of "hurrah!" for the General Secretary again rocked the heaven and the earth. Kim Jong Un warmly acknowledged the enthusiastically cheering crowds for long. All the participants presented the greatest glory and the deepest gratitude to Kim Jong Un, a peerless hero who is fully demonstrating the new era of overall prosperity of the country and the era of our state-first principle with his ardent love and self-sacrificing dedication to the country and the people.

oop i think i'm late to the party but hi everyone! im eun and this is HWANG TAEYI (26, ‘the yaup’), newly licensed pharmacist and professional faker! aka fallen prince of a short-lived empire that left him bitter and obsessive over what used to be. you can find his stats here and his bio here! i’ll also leave some headcanons under the cut. you can give this post a like to plot and/or slip into my ims! i also have discord so just lmk if you’d prefer that option :’)
HWANG TAEYI, 26, ONLINE STAR, REAL-LIFE LOSER.
the hwangs used to be conglomerate giants in contemporary pharmaceuticals and medical research — until they weren’t. they were quote-unquote “saved” by ryong holding’s, which bought out the quickly dying business and made it a subsidiary. his parents are pretty much satisfied with their quiet lives. taeyi, on the other hand, is not.
because the company went under when he was in the army, taeyi never got the closure that he needed to recover. the move down from the top 1% to upper working class felt catastrophic (esp since his two best friends are still loaded and honestly, it’s embarrassing that he can’t keep up).
as such, here we are now, with taeyi literally faking it till he makes it! rented designer clothing, fake accessories, old cars that take up too much gas to drive, and crushing bills to pay, all for a couple hundred thousand followers on the gram.
okay, in all seriousness, it’s not just about the likes. he’s a complete and total con, posing as the guy from his past. who he used to be. he’s twenty-six, grown up, and still not over an old reflection. mostly because no one ever taught him how to be someone else or how to fill that sudden emptiness.
so it’s no surprise that he’s always a little (a lot) bitter, uninhibited, and selfish. taeyi has ambition that’s too much for his money to follow. he’s a sweet and often charismatic kid who has a wickedly persuasive tongue and is perceptive to a t who feels as if he’s been robbed of all the right resources. no wonder he’s always in a knot.
doesn’t help that choi yong banned him, either! taeyi is going to do everything possible in his power to haul his ass to that event (whatever it is, whatever it takes) bc that’s the closest he’s ever going to get at a chance for retaking his old life and getting himself out of debt hellhole.
for a guy who exudes confidence online, he has pretty low self-esteem hidden under layers of pretend. also has the opposite of commitment issues: gets way too attached. often why he doesn’t try to let anyone in in the first place bc he’s afraid of it all going to shit and being left to pick up the pieces. also doesn’t help that his coping mechanism is just more shopping and ends up exacerbating the whole ‘i’m a con!’ cycle.
+ recently acquired his pharmacist license, which is how he tries to pay for everything! it all seems golden, with his parents having enough savings to let him have his own little shop, except the income barely covers half of what he spends. the other half? if you say the right things, know him well enough, taeyi will supply you, no questions asked. he keeps one hand in the black market and one out of it and he likes to keep it that way.
sometimes he’ll take part-time modeling jobs, but doesn’t try to get too deep into it bc 1) too easy to get caught with all his fake shit and 2) doesn’t want to make the impression that he needs that kind of money. also bc friends of his ten-years-younger sister fawn over him and that’s just weird.
some quick plot ideas!  (+ i’m more of a brainstorming/headcanon-ing person but just to get us started!)
broadly speaking, def some people from his past that knew him before all of this shit went down! could be friends, could be ex-friends, could be rivals, enemies. maybe you’re one of those people who look at him with fake sympathy. maybe you don’t care. maybe you’re secretly glad about the hwang’s demise. anything!
and some specifics! i’d love to have maybe someone in his life that tries to help him out aka get over what happened to his family but he keeps pushing away bc 1) again, scared that it’ll all go to shit, and 2) also scared of showing vulnerability. but god knows he needs the help and he needs you
exes, one-sided crushes, give me all the angst! a few ideas: an ex that left him after his social demotion, which left him super scarred (+ most likely why he can get so mopey and clingy now); someone who used to like him a lot in hs or college and he totally rejected but is now interested in you and now he’s just like, well, fuck my life; his first same-sex romantic experience that finally made him think and admit wait, am i bi????; that one ex that has become an old habit and even though you have little to no feelings for him, he keeps coming back to you and you let him bc idk maybe you’re bored or you just like having him in the palm of your hand; the list goes on and on!
he’s not really the type to do fwbs bc again, will get attached, but maybe he tried it out once and it backfired and he learned that lesson from you
maybe one or two people suspicious of his activity?? maybe they see him doing something, maybe they’re neighbors and they realize shit, he’s never really home, maybe they blackmail him, maybe they like to buy him things, et cetera
maybe you’re a fan of him and follow him on social media and everything and you’re keen on helping him getting into yong’s favor and onto that party list
clients for his side job as a supplier! you see him regularly and at a high price, taeyi keeps his mouth shut about your... unhealthy habits bc boy got bills to pay

A page from anonymous Joseon novel “The Legend of Lady Park,” based after the 2nd Manchurian Invasion.
Synopsis of the story:
During Injo’s reign, Lee Shi Baek, (fictional) son of Deputy Personnel Minister Lee Deuk Chun, marries the eldest daughter of a certain Scholar Park from Geumkang Mountain, at the age of 16. This happened because before having Shi Baek, Deuk Chun met Scholar Park while sightseeing at Geumkang, fell for him and promised that their children will marry.
On the groom’s first night, he finds that the bride has an ugly face, 2 cysts hanging from her shoulders and a foul stench. Lady Park is left lonely from the first night, and is made to live in a detached house, named the Pihwa (”Avert Misfortune”) Hall. However, she is talented, well-learned, and extraordinary at Taoist magic, and uses all of this to get Lee Shi Baek first in the civil exam.
Her father Scholar Park visits on a cloud, emits a crane’s cry and sheds Lady Park of her hideous skin. He tells her that she looked like that until now because of some unresolved karma from her previous life. Upon seeing that she’s now beautiful, Lee Shi Baek apologizes to Lady Park, and he advances to Governor of Pyeongan, and eventually the Minister of War.
Meanwhile, the Gadal (fictional Jurchen tribe) covet Joseon, and Lee Shi Baek accompanies Im Gyeong Eop himself to suppress them. Qing’s emperor uses his daughter Princess Gi Ryong Dae and Wonju courtesan Seoljungmae to assassinate Lee Shi Baek and Im Gyeong Eop, but Lady Park finds out beforehand and prevents them. Also, when Tatara Ingguldai’s brother takes 30,000 troops to invade Hanyang and Gwangju, she uses her magic to repel them.
Through these merits, Lady Park is titled Lady Chungryeol Jeonggyeong (highest rank attainable by a married noblewoman outside of the Palace), while Shi Baek becomes Chief State Councilor, a mentor to the Crown Prince and high ranks for his children and grandchildren.
