Ship Bias for Taiga
Send ‘Ship Bias’ and I will share up to 5 Ships I have a bias for for my muse! / Accepting! / @multianime
Tumblr media
Kagakuro ( From the moment I watched this show, Tetsuya practically proposed to him lol. Light and Shadow. They just get each other even without words which is so beautiful. Both of them helped each other to grow so much. )
Saya Otonashi Yes that is my muse ( I also associate Saya with tigers and both of them have red eyes, red theme, and fiery energy aside from being big eaters! I can see them eating burgers and meat in general. )
Hana Shirakami ( @sportbaes showed me a picture of Hana's face claim and her husband does look like Taiga! I took it as a sign. Both of them are also big eaters and she dresses elegantly and elegant girls are his type! )
Shinoa Evans ( I just threw her at him one day and they met while his legs were still recuperating and he was skipping practice. She encouraged him. My Taiga once told Rose's Ryōta Kise that he would respect whoever can lift him up and she absolutely can! She's also elegant. Plus, they were raised abroad and can cook together. He had to get over the fact she's into poly and has other boyfriends but it will work out! )
Rei Hino (I have no expectations I'll ever get to write this out since Rei is distrustful of men, but she is elegant and aside from the fire and red theme, my Taiga also has connections to Shintoism as in my headcanon, the Kagami's are descended from a tiger spirit that tasted the blood of the Fire God, Kagutsuchi. In that same headcanon, his paternal grandfather owns the Kagami shrine and is head priest since his father didn’t inherit his role. They're both from wealthy families and athletic since Rei does archery. )

aeri reviews “7’sCarlet”
Tumblr media
—DISCLAIMER—
whatever you read in this post, take it as a personal opinion of a single individual. in other words, only you can form your own conclusion about what you thought of this game. also, this might look like an informal review more than anything (or rant bruv), so there’s that lol
images used in this post came from their official website (as a promotion) or their official X account
now that’s all said, i’ll get started:
—DESCRIBE WHAT THE GAME’S ABOUT—
so there’s our main character named ichiko hanamaki who’s wondering where her older brother— and i squinted suspiciously, yes— could be as he disappeared one year ago— yes, you read that right, like why did it take so long— when he went to a place called okunezato and her childhood friend slash best friend named hino kagutsuchi proposed that they should investigate behind it, and thus begins a premise of mystery and questions— a scooby-doo otome, finally?
—INCOMING SPOILERS AHEAD—
—HINO KAGUTSUCHI—
Tumblr media
hino, oh hino— another childhood friend, and why yes, i did had red laser eyes on this dude from the beginning because i couldn’t count on fingers how many times have childhood friends acted trashy towards MC? well, if you played long enough, you can sympathize with me, ig?
but surprise, surprise— he’s alright, fine, sane, and normal LI— if you’re thinking, “eh, maybe he’s an ass towards MC”, but nope, i couldn’t call that ass since he’s just bantering towards ichiko, and funny asf too in other routes, especially his banters with isora— but unfortunately, i didn’t feel anything special with this route, i was like, “yeah, this is mid”
—ISORA AMARI—
why? i dunno, maybe because no spicy plot reveal yet or he’s not my choice on ichiko or those two mashed reasons altogether lol
and him being inconsistent in other routes is just so jarring??
Tumblr media
this dude— like this dude— i really want to finish this route quick because it’s insufferable
now, now, about the “insufferable” word that i used, it’s not that bad as you think— like there’s countless of garbage you can think of that’s trashier than this dude pls this dude’s not at least harming ichiko in every route possible— unlike poyo-poyo, tomomori, yang, sanan, toma, etc. coughs, but why though?
simple: i’m not fan of his character— weeps, when will you voice a cold and blunt LI again, tetsu-kaki— his backstory is so?? i had enough of a childhood friend plot again, like tf— and i’m not sold on why he’s a controlling and possessive freak with anger issues all of a sudden— it doesn’t make any sense— i mean, maybe you can argue that he lost his father and he saw their restaurant fall apart ig, but i’m not sold lol— he feels like a lifeless food that you can get in the convenience store— which i find ironic since he’s a chef lol
a totally forgettable trash LI, that’s for sure
—TOA KUSHINADA—
Tumblr media
an LI where he had a reverse charm to him? yes, baby, bring it on!
yes, he’s that kind of LI— and i’m shocked that happened because i never saw that coming— at all
he’s this dude that’s like everyone and their moms bullies in school or whatever place there is because he’s a weirdo in their eyes— socially awkward, scrawny, clumsy, and maybe unattractive to their eyes, again, charismatic aura is also a game changer in terms of becoming a famous person besides being attractive— and surprise, surprise, who would’ve thought the loser is an idol— yes, you read that right
i was also like ichiko’s reaction— i couldn’t believe it
i love his backstory and how his good experience with ichiko just erased the bad experiences he’d been through with his bullies and that actually helped him to be a better person, in his own will
... and yeah, about the true route— ahaha, let’s pretend this didn’t happen, yeah?
what it feels like to play the true route if you’re a toa fan:
Tumblr media
—SOSUKE TATEHIRA—
Tumblr media
ngl, i’m not interested in him, although his appearance nailed exactly what’s attractive in my book— glasses, raven hair, and oceanic blue eyes lol— i dunno why
but as i went with his route, i became interested— i siked myself there for a moment lmfao
he also has a reverse charm to him, not exactly too gap like toa’s but it’s present there— in the general route, he’s all aloof— you can even describe him as a jerk, but i believe this is just him being logical, and that’s not a bad thing when he first met ichiko— and talks like a walking encyclopedia lol and it turns out that he must be all that busybody to the point he never had experienced fun in his life— which at first, i find ridiculous ngl, but looking at his backstory, it makes sense, really— and ichiko going through his life made his world upside down— su-weet lol
—YUZUKI MURAKUMO—
Tumblr media
i think newcomers would 100% think that he’s an ass at the beginning, and tbf, i agree with it lol
he’s much closed off more than sosuke, like at least sosuke instantly warmed up with everyone, but what about yuzuki? he remains an enigma, truly making me curious about what goes on with this dude
well, ofc, as expected, it turns out that he cares a lot about things more than what meets the eye— his backstory is fantastic as well— he guards his heart well, but ichiko succeeded in trespassing that lol
the amount of times he goes “HUH??” with ichiko’s words or action is so hilarious— daaaawg
yuzuki’s sealed it for me as my favorite 7’sCarlet LI thanks to his BE#3, well, it’s more like a continuation of NE, or an alt NE—
PLS I FIND IT HOT THAT HE LOST CONTROL OF HIMSELF SINCE HE BECAME A REVENANT WHILE ICHIKO’S FINE WITH THAT AS LONG AS IT’S HIM 🥵🌶️
PLS HE WAS SO DOWN BAD WITH ICHIKO
i want this ending too since both of them were shish-kebabed in the hands of ensepulchers while hugging each other— it’s better than ichiko herself would survive alone without her LI </3
—SECRET ROUTE—
unfortunately, i can’t paste the secret route’s image here because duh, a secret’s supposed to be a secret lol
i’ve already raised an eyebrow towards ichiko’s motivations of going to okuzenato, and knowing how oniichan mostly had an infamous reputation in this niche genre, i was bracing myself to remove my brain in case brain-dead stuff happens— which to my shock, that didn’t happen, or it wasn’t bad, and i find it good
still, i won’t blame others if they go full: “wtf???” at this route since there are still moments that would go people like (myself included):
Tumblr media
but i’m a fan of plot where a character is an immortal being and then develops feelings for someone— in the case of this game, others might criticize its writing, and i don’t exactly blame them because it feels like it’s rushed, well, i just think it’s all a flashback to the secret route’s perspective since secret’s explaining to ichiko, not exactly diving into the past fully
i still think it’s pretty neat that the true route foreshadows this one
the ending’s so bittersweet, and realistically, people would find ichiko and the secret route weird (or even immoral) to be together since she knew the secret route as her oniichan ever since she was a kid, plus ichiko would move on to hino as her romantic interest instead— even the secret route relied on hino to take good care of her hihi—
but there’s hint that secret route might be coming back, like it’s up to our interpretation ig
—SYSTEM—
since this is a visual novel, of course, choosing choices is the staple gameplay of it, but i’d like to point out the beautiful background/s since there were times that it was dynamic and that sound effect whenever there’s revelation unfolding makes me jump ngl lol
—OVERALL THOUGHTS—
Tumblr media
ichiko might be criticized of “wtf girl??”, but i’d say she’s not that bad as what people tend to say (just take their opinion with a grain of salt, ALWAYS), but i think she shines the most with hino, sosuke and yuzuki’s route because she’s funny and has comebacks of wits lol
the game’s really good at foreshadowing what would happen in the next route, like a lot of it, if you pay attention
however, i still find how the game is written odd, that’s all i have to say
not a smooth experience, that’s for sure, but i didn’t regret playing this game even though it’s not the very best out there since i finally satiated my curiosity about it— and shinichiro miki and showtaro morikubo and me and my rotted braincells thinking of only hakuoki thoughts lmao

Tumblr media
A throaty gasp for air woke Hino up from his deep, yet restless, slumber.
He was choking, feeling frantic and nervous. His heart was ready to tear right out of his chest. Frantically looking around, he spotted her softly asleep on the her living room couch, the book she was reading thrown over her face, and so he started to calm his breathing.
It had only been a nightmare, but it was one he had often. As Hino took in her placid sleeping figure, flashes of the night terror entered his mind.
It was always the same one where Ichiko was on the ground, screaming desperately for help. The serial killer... Well, Hino usually pictures him as Mr. Tsukuyomi, the photographer they met while they were staying in Okunezato, on his mind’s eye for some reason. The serial killer had her under some sort torture, cutting her up with a knife.
She was crying and shrieking his name, but he was always too late. Crimson floods of blood always flowed in a gore scene and her teary violet eyes lost their light right before him. Her last words to him as she died in his arms were always "Hanate could have saved me. Why couldn’t you save me?"
Hino looked over her slightly parted lips and peacefully shut eyes in almost religious wonder. He trailed his hand on her button-up shirt, feeling her chest rise and fall very slowly as she breathes.
It was Autumn once again, and they were back from Okunezato. They could not find any hide or hair of Hanate’s anywhere out in the mountains, and so they held a small memorial for him on the banks of the river to pay their respects and say their goodbyes. Life is for the living, after all, and so they returned to Tokyo, to their collegiate careers, and so the petty dramas related to it emerged again.
His girlfriend was comically inept in History, while Hino himself was quite apt at it, and so he tried to help her to come up to speed, but to no avail. Alas, where some lesser man would feel very frustrated, the boy was more than happy to explain the same damn aspect of Taisho society over and over again, because while she grumbles in frustration, she is safe.
Ichiko was safe and alive here at Tokyo, here with him, where they both actually belonged.
She was with him, she was where he could see her and touch her, where his mind finally could be at ease, where he could protect her. She loved him, just as much as he loved her, and he loved her a lot.
Suddenly, as he pulls off his hand, her body tenses up and her breath becomes shallower. Her sleep was disturbed, and Hino remembers she is not much of falling to deep slumbers, especially in such uncomfortable position.
"Hino?" Ichiko groaned, waking to his fixed stare. "What happened? Why are you here? What time is it?"
“It’s late. It must be very late. We were studying History again, but we drifted off eventually.” He responded. “I’m sorry, I have woken you up. I just…”
The dishevelled, nervous boy pulled her into a deep hug, pressing as close to she as he possibly could.
"I love you." Hino lovingly kissed her fair cheek, colouring immediately as he places his lips on it. "I love you so, so much. I’ll never be able to tell you how much."
"Oh! I love you too." The brunette giggled drowsily, even if slightly confused with the whole situation. “I love you, too, Hino.”
The affection was quite sudden, even for someone as overt as her boyfriend, but she could not find in herself to complain. She sat up to cup his face and kissed Hino delicately. He rested on her lap, body relaxing as he stared up at her sleep-ruined makeup, thinking she was as beautiful as she ever was.
"May I please play with your hair, Hino?" She snapped him out of his thoughts suddenly, a jolt of awareness passing through his relaxed spine. “It really relaxes me.”
Hino's heart filled with giddy, teenage love and he nodded softly, fluttering his eyes shut to enjoy the sensation. Instantly, Ichiko took her fingers to his coarse, black hair and ran her hands through the long, cowlicked strands falling on his bloodshot eyes. It was an art, almost, how her rather short nails scraped his scalp softly and toyed and twirled with sections of his hair around her fine fingertips.
This was when Hino was at his happiest. Uneventful nights, alone with Ichiko at an otherwise empty house, her parents away to some weird trip overseas as they often are, with her hands in his hair lovingly and drifting off to sleep laid on her lap. To him, it was the picture of pure peace, and it was a wonderful feeling.
"Ow!" Hino flinched, yelping suddenly and standing back straight.
His girlfriend, the so-called artiste of hair-playing, had accidentally tugged too hard, and had the audacity to start laughing quietly at his misery.
"You pulled my hair…" The boy by her side grumbled, grouchy.
"I’m sorry, honey." She yawned, nonchalantly. “You had a mean knot over there, I just had to untangle it.”
"You are so lucky you are cute." Hino pointed out, yawning now, too, and laying back on her inviting lap.
Shared laughter met the eventual sleepy cuddles and Hino knew that he was the lucky one in this relationship, that he took more than he gave. Because he was the one who lucked out with the girl that he loved more than anything holding him so softly in her arms, lulling him back to a state of utter relaxation, and, as if Ichiko was his personal lucky charm, he slept without a single other disturbance that night.
Even if it happened that he woke up the next morning with a bad case of cotton mouth and his back aching.

Hino my beloved son...
A lot of otome romances are hit or miss for me and a lot of routes have like. Ah okay that was sweet or Well that was a nice line of dialogue. But Hino over the course of the entire game, over all the routes, is the only character I can think of that actually made me feel a punch to the gut and want to adopt him. Like it’s one line of dialogue in the game that after you’ve played it all.... just WOW. Made me feel really emotional. I wanna replay this game so badly where is my Vita copy.

[Drama CD]   7′Scarlet Limited Edition Bonus CD: According to the candy in the skull Translations
*Commissioned by @melynir, Thank you! *Spoiler free: Translations under cut
Commissions are still open!
Who is it…? Hurry and name yourself!
I can’t believe it...There’s a murderer among us?
Don’t do this, please! It’s not good to be suspecting each other like this...I can’t...I can’t stand doing this!
You can’t be joking, right? Are you serious? And in the first place…
Yeah. I’m dead serious. There’s certainly someone here among us who’s a murderer, wearing the facade of a human; an undead who has returned to the living.
7’Scarlet limited edition drama CD: According to the candy in the skull.
Undead…? I do know that there’s been a story being passed down around this place that dates back to a long time ago. But...are you...are you seriously saying that it’s true?
That’s right, Kushinada-san. Look. Look closely at the eyes of the owner. He doesn’t seem like hes joking in the least bit now, does he? And he’s the one who brought it up…
Do you think I’d joke about something like this!? If you’re going to continue fussing about this and being in denial, Isora, I’m going to write you off as the undead himself!
Wha- Why!?
Calm down, both of you! How about you look at Kagatsuchi instead? It seems like he has somehow come to a conclusion about this matter.
R-Really!? Hino-kun!
...Well, I guess.
There’s no longer any need to withhold any information back. Now, Kagatsuchi. Will you tell us exactly what it is that you’ve figured out?
Ngh!
Very well. I’ve actually felt that something was off for quite some time now, but I simply shrugged it off, thinking that it was just my imagination. However, after watching his actions and behaviours for some time...that feeling only got stronger.
Enough of the long-winded talk, Kagetsuchi. Just point the guy out already. Who’s the undead? The murderer not of this world!
I’ll leave the explanations for later then. I’ll tell you who this murderer who’s been making the death toll increase here in Okuzaneto! The worst murderer of this generation! Are you all prepared?
Y-Yes, I am.
Yeah…!
Of course.
The undead...is you!!
What!?
Isora, you say!?
Heh. Hahahaha!! There’s nothing I can do now that I’ve been found out. I’m the undead that has just been introduced by yours truly…
Argh!! Wait a minute--! I really don’t want to act as the undead anymore! I don’t wanna!!
Hey! Isora! That line wasn’t written in the script!
It doesn’t have anything to do with the lines! I can’t help not wanting to do what I don’t want to! I don’t like it! Why do I have to be the undead!?
It’s a role that has to be filled!
You lost at rock-paper-scissors!
Just accept it already.
It’s not like I can, either! I’ve never died before, so I don’t understand how the undead’s supposed to be feeling!
Isora-kun...If your words are true, then you won’t be able to act. Acting, you see, is to express and show something that can never happen; to bring something that you;ve never experienced into reality. Actors who cannot act without having prior experience before will never make it far in this world and they’ll never be able to score a big job either!
You know...It’s not like I want to be an actor in the future or anything.
What? Neko-megane! You seem awfully knowledgeable about these things?
Ah! Could you, perhaps-!?
Urk! O-Oh no…
Could it be that-!?
Please, Hino-kun. Don’t go on any further…!
You’re an only child!?
Ah...That’s all?
Kagutsuchi...You should stop that habit of yours of immediately assuming any and everything. Plus I’ve never heard you assuming anything else about him, other than him being an only child.
I can guess his blood type too!
K-Kagetsuchi! If I may please hear more about that?
I don’t care about his status as the only child or his blood type! Can someone else please take the role of the undead!? It’s not for me. It’s not like I’ve ever acted before. I’m not really good at it and I don’t aspire to be an actor in the future either!
Isora! There’s no need for all that! The only question here is, will you do it or not?
He totally took Isora’s words as if he was just talking to himself…
It’s one thing to make Isora feel that strongly about something, but in all honesty, I’m not one to be putting up with this farce either. Besides, why do I, of all people, have to act in something like this? I am THE Yuzuki, you know?
It’s not like we have a choice either. We’re lacking in manpower. Plus, we only roped you in under the Owner’s orders via Yuki.
Honestly, for crying out loud...Right, someone go fetch Yuki here. I bet he’s the one who came up with the casting and the scenarios. I’m going to make him amend everything before my very eyes!
Yuki says that he’ll only be back late because he has some stuff to wrap up in a meeting regarding a live tomorrow.
A meeting, you say? So he’s off having tea with some idol while I’m stuck here being an embarrassment on his whim?
Well...But he said that Eito-san won’t be participating, despite being the lead. So everyone brought up the question of whether a meeting can really be held without the star.
But, she said that “I cleared my schedule the day before the show so I can give it my all when the live comes!”
Oh? Really? Wait, Neko-megane!? You’re awfully knowledgeable about Eito-sama…
Ahh!! Now, could you perhaps-!?
O-Oh no!!
Enough of this turn of events; we’ve heard it plenty.
This act of ours is supposed to come before that live, right? Why is this even required?
Seems like everything was set up according to Eito’s wishes! And Yuki whipped up a script real quick after having received the job.
Yuki seems really taken with Eito. I’m sure he went all “Leave it to me! I’ll pour all of my heart and soul into coming up with the script!”
I’m kind of indebted to him…
Even still, why did you have to drag all the people staying in this inn right now? Can’t you just leave this to the high-schoolers or something?
That was also because of Eito’s request. Am I right, Neko-megane?
“Yes. Hanamaki-san would be happier about it if that were the case. And I wanted to join too…”
“I wanted to join too?”
“No, I wanted to play the role of an adult once!” So, Yuki-kun said.
He was the one who wrote this script...but who would’ve thought that it would be centered around the undead. Isn’t this going too far?
Well, I think he also wanted to do something Okunezato-esque.
But it’s not all that unusual to do a play based on old myths and legends either, right?
Even after all that, this is still a piece that has quite a bit of suspense in it so we need actors with an adequate amount of acting ability.
How ridiculous. We’re not actors, therefore we’ve got no responsibility nor obligation to be acting in this.
Well, I don’t disagree with acting itself. It’s pretty fun, actually. Oh! Or is it that the Owner’s embarrassed to appear up the stage alone while acting?
Don’t be stupid. I’ve already gotten used to appearing alone a long time ago. Speaking off...I dare say that my acting skill is the best out of all of us here. I may look like this, but I’ve received the best pity acting award during my time in school when I had a part to play in the school’s play!
The best pity...acting...award? Isn’t that bad?
In any case! I’m taking my leave from here! I’m not signing to act like a bunch of monkeys under the farce of a play.
Wait. Don’t be so quick to come to a decision, Owner. Yuki-kun went through all the effort of writing the script! Are you sure you want to put all his hard work to waste? He, who managed to pen all of this down during his free-time even though he was all so busy? The script is one thing, but it must have been hard for him to set everything up like this. Adding all of the time he might have spent on this, just how much effort do you think he put into this?
...You’re actually counting them all?
It is said that the average pay is 50,000Yen. Which means that he should have netted about a hundred or so Yen per shift.
Has Sousuke-san gone stir-crazy…?
But he hasn’t sought payment as if he were working a shift. He was simply doing what he needed to be. Therefore, I think that he has to be repaid in some way, even if it’s to bring what he was working on into reality. Don’t you think so?
Ah...Someone should stop him.
Besides, if we’re so ready to blindside how much work a girl’s putting in, then perhaps we should make the men drop the amount of shifts they’re taking and-
Err, in other words, he’s trying to say that we should do it since Yuki had put so much effort into it. He’d be sad if we don’t so won’t you help us out here?
Amari! That’s just it! That was exactly what I wanted to say!
Seriously? All I just did just now was to wing it-
For Yuki’s sake…? It’s kind of unfair for you to be throwing such a lowball, but...I’ll do it.
Ehhhh? He accepted pretty readily!?
Only this time. And I have a condition.
What is it?
Change the script. It’s not good to be fooling around like that with a script revolving around the undead. It goes against the very will of Okunezato. No matter how much effort Yuki has placed into this, I won’t allow something like that.
After acting along with us this far? I wonder why you’re saying this only now, all of a sudden?
Owner...he must have remembered all the lines by heart. I mean, he’s the only one who didn’t bring a script with him…
Right!? I’m sure he prepared before coming here!
You all...Are you pretending not to have heard what I just said?
No...I understand where you’re coming from. But in all honesty, it’s also pretty hard for me to call this scenario that Yuki has written up to be a job well done.
Really? I think it’s pretty interesting, though.
And just which part exactly are you referring too?
Which part? Well…
The part where the undead opened his mouth and spewed fire, burning everything into ashes! That was impactful!
I don’t really know about that, myself. I mean, destroying the stage? That’s a recipe for disaster.
That’s why we need it to be re-written! So no accidents and woes happen!
It’s fine, isn’t it? It’s just fiction! It’s just a corpse, anyway. And the ending was great too! Everyone breaks out into a dance after the undead being is defeated!
Were you already prepared to break out in dance…? REWRITE!
I suppose rewrite it is...But what will we do about the script? The act’s slated for tomorrow and there’s no way we can write up a new one now.
Simple! We just have to have an original story to base it off. If we are to use an old legend and myth like we’re doing right now, there are tons of it out there!
Ahh...I see. Then...How about Momotaro?
It’s lame but It’s been turning up in commercials lately so it wouldn’t be that odd of a story to be replacing it with. The era, though…
Okaay! It’s decided then. Who wants to be Momotaro? Whoa, wait a minute! 5 people can’t be playing Momotaro!
So you say, but you’ve got your hand raised too.
I’m glad to see that everyone’s enthusiastic about this.
Way too enthusiastic, don’t you think!? Even the Owner has his hand up!
Okay, okay! 5 people acting as Momotaro’s just plain impossible!
Really? I heard that some other place had everyone acting as Momotaro though.
There’s no need to compare to them now, is there? Plus, if everyone’s playing Momotaro, then where’s the bird, the monkey and the dog!? And even if we did make it to the island, there wouldn’t be any Oni.
It’s certainly interesting, but don’t you think this would be hard to act out? If we add the old man and the old woman...5 people wouldn’t even be close to enough.
What if we ask Tsukiyomi-san and Karasuma-san?
The declined.
They...declined…? There was an option of declining!?
He turned it down immediately, thinking of it as simply being a gag prank.
Ugh! I totally thought that I absolutely had to participate in this no matter what…How could I have foreseen this…!?
You know, I’ve always wondered about this ever since I was a kid, but Momotaro must really be one lucky guy to not have died after the Old woman opened the peach as she did. I mean, she sliced it cleanly into half...Oh! How about we have a suspense scene for that? A Momotaro murder! The catchphrase...right! Who killed Momotaro!?
The perpetrator’s the old woman, isn’t it?
To hide the evidence of the act she committed, she closed up the peach and sealed it back up.
And the Old man came back from the mountains, only to be roped into her own conspiracy…
I really can’t see the old granny doing that though...but...I’m kind of interested to hear what comes next!
...Enough. Anyway, we should really think about an act that includes all 5 of us, each in different roles.
Then...How about Urashima Taro? You can be Otohime-sama, Owner.
Rejected! Next.
Then Kintaro! No girls appear in there so it’s settled, isn’t it?
Okaaay! Who wants to be Kintaro? Wha- NOBODY!?
Kintaro...he ends up naked after all.
I...Being naked’s NG for me.
Like hell I’m going to bare my chest for all to see just because of this! REJECTED. Next!
Then, Chikarataro!
No, no, it should be Monogusataro.
Sannetaro!!
Enough of the Taro series! Move away from it! Taro, taro, taro..Enough of it!! Isn’t there anything else!? Something simple! Something that everyone knows!
How about you suggest something then? You were the one who wanted a change of the script, so shouldn’t you suggest something!?
It’s not like I can help it now, can I? Let’s go about this logically. There’s not enough time right not to make an entirely new script. Therefore, it’s only plausible if we go for a story that all of us know; all five of us. In other words, there’s only THAT story.
What’s “that”?
Shakespeare!
Shake...-!?
There’s no way we can go wrong with this. It’s not an exaggeration to say that the entire world knows of his works. It may be embarrassing to act his works out, but there is no easier play to enact in this world than shakespeare. All of his stories are famous beyond famous. So even if we’re only capable of doing a patchy job...Hm? What’s wrong? You’re all being so silent!
Ah!? My…!
Ah...Shakespeare, you say?
Indeed. Which of his stories would you prefer? I’ll let you have the option of at least that much.
Ahh, anything’s fine! Right?
Y-Yeah…! That one’s fine and that one too! Right, Kushinada-san!?
Ah...Yes! The tearful one might be good! They say that nothing’s better than a sob-story, right?
Hm…? Kushinada? Which story are you talking about…?
Ah…That one. You know, the one where someone dies…?
Hm...That’s hard. Most of Shakespeare's works end in tragedy. It’s hard to pin-point which one you’re talking about unless you’re more detailed about it. Isora, which work is he referring to?
Ehh!? W-Which!? The emotional one! You know where the main character dies...or not...or so!
And, you know…! Where the main character falls into despair...or not...or so!?
I...see?
A UFO...UFO!!!
You guys...are you saying that none of you know of Shakespere? Is this how it is, Kagutsuchi?
Urk...I don’t know! Goddamnit! I do know of at least Romeo and Juliet though! But something famous beyond famous!?
S-Sorry...it didn’t really feel like I could deny it...There’s nothing but Shakespere, yeah...actually, Shakespeare, who?
It’s finally out now! I don’t know and it’s hard lying about it like that! Having everything out in the open like this feels much better, right? Right!?
No, all of you were pretty interesting. I never thought that he’d take all of you so seriously when you were all just pretending to have understood whatever he had been going on about. I suppose this is truly what ad-lib acting is!
Sousuke-san, you know about it?
Of course! It would do you good to remember the 4 great tragedies at least! Macbeth, Othello, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet. They’re all also famous beyond their time!
Huh? Amadeus? Learlo? Riaju?
It’s all muddled up, you know.
But! I know at least Romeo and Juliet!
Ahem! “Oh Romeo! Where art thou Roemo!”
Enough! Anyway, Owner. Anything Shakesperaren is out of the cards! It’s simply an impossible undertaking!
Isn’t there anything easier? Something with simple enough lines that all of us know about!?
Kushinada, suggest something.
M-Me!? Then...how about Cinderella or-
Blergh! Don’t you think it’s a little disgusting for all the actors to be men for that?
I don’t particularly mind.
Y-You don’t!?
Ahem! “Cinderella! Please finish cleaning the house up before we return home!”
Hey, Kagutsuchi! Don’t go off starting it all on your own like that! And why in the world are you voicing all the female roles!?
“Oh no! The seams on my dress have come off. Fix it for me!”
Did something like that even happen!?
Well then. “I’m going to the ball! I’ll be leaving the night shift to you then~!”
Aren’t there way too many of her mean sisters here?
“Allow me to magic up this pumpkin…!”
Kushinada…! The fairy godmother has appeared even though Cinderella hasn’t made a debut. Isn’t this bad!?
Hurry, Owner! Cinderella! You’re Cinderella!!
You mean...you’re making…me. Me! You’re making me participate in this...farce?
So, say something?
“Ah...I want to go to the ball too…”
CUUUUUUUT!! Owner! You’re way too despondent about this! Are you even putting your heart in this!?
Don’t turn the tables on me! You had other choices, didn’t you!?
Ehh? But it was proceeding on pretty smoothly!
Kushinada...You haven’t really read Cinderella before, have you? Your fairy godmother seems like it came right out of ‘The man who made flowers bloom’!
Seems like we went a full circle from Momotaro and back again to these old tales.
Did not!!
Argh!! We can’t seem to be able to decide anything at all! And look at the time! Can we really settle this and come up with something new before tomorrow!?
And we said that we’d think of something to base if off since it’s impossible to re-write a script now...but our Cinderella’s practically the original one.
Talk and talk, we did. But we still didn’t decide anything in the end…
Enough. Let’s just stick to the undead story…
That’s right! All we can do now is to do our best with the lines that we’ve already memorised!
Humph. In other words, we were all thrown for a loop...only to come back to the original story about the undead. I suppose there’s nothing we can do about it. It was a mistake to attempt changing out act on such short notice. So let’s go with the undead story. However, let’s change at least the ending.
The ending? Oh! You mean the dance part?
Yes! There’s that too, but this entire story’s ending is way too big for my taste. I’d rather it end off properly, you know?
Then, can’t we just end it off when the undead disappears into the forest? Everything else along with the dance should only come after that.
Right! That’s precisely it! We can’t change too much, else it’ll become a flop.
Let’s do that then! We’ve all already memorized our lines anyway so we’ll only be writing off the big celebration and dance.
What a pity~ The dance was pretty interesting too!
I don’t mind the dance...not really, anyway…
Really!?
Hmmmmmmm? You seem to have all your lines down to pat. Now, now, Yuzuki-sama…?
Did he perfect his dance too!?
I...It was only my responsibility, having taken up this job.
That’s amazing, Owner! I admire actors like that with the hardworking trait! They don’t only remember their own lines, but they also go out of their way to remember everybody’s!
I don’t have to?
Amazing! Owner, you’re a blessing from the gods! A natural-born actor!
No, he’s just a veteran.
The celebration’s a no-go but the dance gets a pass! Alright, once more from the top!
I’ll follow after you, Owner!
Scene 18: Flurin Cafe, start!
Who is it? Hurry and name yourself!
I can’t believe it...There’s a murderer among us?
Don’t do this, please! It’s not good to be suspecting each other like this...I can’t...I can’t stand doing this!
You can’t be joking, right? Are you serious? And in the first place…
Yeah. I’m dead serious. There’s certainly someone here among us who’s a murderer, wearing the facade of a human; an undead who has returned to the living.
Wait, hold up!
What is it now, Isora!? Why are you stopping us again!?
Thinking it through, nothing’s been settled at all! I don’t want to act as the undead! I don’t want to!
You were the one who lost at rock-paper-scissors!
What a sore loser…
Um...we’re repeating the same pattern again..
You have it good, Hino-kun. You have a line that goes “YOU are the undead!!”. I have it pretty hard on the other hand...I mean, what is this line!? “Hehehehe. There’s nothing I can do now that I’ve been found out. I’m the undead that has just been introduced by yours truly, Isora!” This isn’t a vow in a marriage or anything like that!
No good...This doesn’t seem like it’ll get itself settled anytime soon...

Calling on anyone with knowledge of Japanese mythology
I am trying to find which gods were born when Izanagi decapitated Kagutsuchi. I know that at least Take-Mikazuchi was born from the blood that dripped from the sword, but what about the other ones. I’ve heard that there are eight kami that were born from the blood.
Can someone help me find out what the other Kami were?

There is just...so much fire.  I assume with a lot of Shinto symbolism that things take seemingly weird, intricate, arbitrary shapes for specific reasons.  So I’m worried about changing a pose or fudging a shape, because maybe it was supposed to be a kanji or something.  But it’s hard to tell what anything really is on Hino Kagutsuchi, so I rearranged things for my own sake, to keep track of it easier.
Like the Greco-Roman gods, these Shinto gods get Light and Dark evo branches, as well as an Awoken form that Reincarnates.  All of them are much more snarly than the base form, showing off big snake fangs.  I like them, even if the fire effects around them are a bit too busy.

7′sCarlet #1 (Hino, Isora)
I have no idea how to say this game’s name. Is it 7′s carlet? 7′s Scarlet? 7′ scarlet? No idea.
I have been playing it for the last few days, and been following  NerdyBirdyx’s guide. I was looking forward to it since I’ve finished Steam Prison (replayed Adage’s route, as I said I would) and have been lacking for something else to do. I went into it without knowing much or what to expect. The only thing I knew is that it had a mystery, which fitted me nicely since I had liked Steam Prison and Amnesia a lot. So, you can expect such heavy/tense vibe, although it didn’t look like as violent as Steam Prison.
As it says in the guide, the characters’ order was...
Hino -> Isora -> Toa -> Sosuke -> Yuzuki -> True Ending -> Secret Character
Next I will talk about my journey through the first two routes (Hino and Isora), as well as my thoughts on them and its characters. Oh, I apologize for any stupid mistake in grammar, specially when writing something’s name (places’ and people’s), I’m not sure why but I’m having trouble getting it right.
Spoilers to follow. You’ve been warned.
Hino Kagutsuchi
Tumblr media
Hino is the classic childhood friend who has feelings towards the heroine. He is an overall nice guy who likes sports but has to deal with his own feelings of inadequacy.
I must say I liked him from the start, and at first glance, he was the one who talked more to me... I also have a weak spot for childhood friends’ romance, so, yeah...
Hino’s route is full of sweet moments, but still without losing focus of the plot of trying to find your brother. It had a nice balance between these two moments: the tension of Okunezato, and the sweet and fluffy romance, which can be a hard thing to achieve. I liked to see his hesitation of crossing the line of friendship and confessing his feelings towards the heroine. I also liked seeing his weakness as he often fears he is not good enough.
One thing, though, that bothered me is how often he talks about replacing MC’s brother, which made it sound... just weird.
We never have the chance to see MC’s brother or how was their dynamic. The only hints you’re given of the former was Hino’s speech, and by that, I don’t have a good impression of the brother or how he related with MC or even Hino. The flashback of the haunted house too, gave me a bad feeling.
Other than those things, I liked the romance’s development. It was fast-paced, but not in a way that felt rushed. The CGs were pretty, and their interaction was sweet and concise.
I can’t say I’m annoyed at MC, too. She wasn’t too dense. It was understandable how she was a little confused about her own feelings at times, or even hesitant, given that her brother’s disappearance was taking most of her thoughts. But, one thing that bothered ma about the Happy Ending was how they kind of force the “love at first sight” thing, specially when it comes to MC’s feelings. It would’ve been believable when talking about Hino, but the MC... it just didn’t feel right.
However, I must say... all the case of Okunezato and it’s mystery left me confused a lot of times. At that point I had some theories, but I was more lost than anything; at first, I didn’t understand if the mystery was a supernatural thing or it had some sort of logical/scientific explanation. The game strongly suggests the former.
Karasuma was kind of a mysterious character too, I wasn’t sure what he was up to, but still didn’t believe he was a bad guy. The manager was confusing, it felt like the game wanted me to distrust or suspect him, but I couldn’t do it when it didn’t give me any proof or reason whatsoever. It was heavily hinted that he was involved with MC’s brother’s disappearance, somehow. To be honest, I thought Yasu was the most suspicious one... all that “stupid” attitude seemed forceful -- a facade -- and it looked like he had some kind of connection to Yuzuki’s family. More than them just being childhood friends.
It was unclear if the cat man was one of the characters we knew, or someone else entirely. No questions about the Okunezato’s mysteries or even MC’s brother’s disappearance were answered, which was disappointing.
Nonetheless, the romance was nice and the route was still fun. I was at the edge of my seat many times, just wondering when any of them was going to be attacked. Every time they went to investigate the disappearance, I got tense.

Isora Amari
I was writing this one as I played his route (different to how I did Hino’s), so my comments and views come as I move forward, this is not a view of someone who had already finished the route. The reason for that is that as I finished writing Hino’s part, I felt that I left out lots of thing that might’ve been important, so, writing as I played made it more my thoughts more clear and dynamic. However, it made the text way longer, so I apologize from the start.
Tumblr media
From the beginning I must say something didn’t ring right to me about Inora, I’m not saying he was exactly a suspicious character, but just his personality just bothers me a little bit. He is not a bad character per se, but the way he talks, all that joyful and carefree is not my cup of tea.
Inora constantly hints about having met the heroine before, which makes you wonder about MC’s memories (or lack, thereof).
I was a little hesitant as I started his route, because... well, you came to Okunezato with Hino, you were going to investigate with Hino, so I was curious and somewhat afraid of how they would handle him in Inora’s route. The first few scenes/days he just vanishes, kind of... he doesn’t even speak with MC in the festival (nor meet her), which would be understandable given how she didn’t show up after his invite. Throughout the next day, as you go to town with Inora, he also is left to the side until the night, when you meet him and everyone in the Cafe.
During the Cafe meeting (to which Sosuke doesn’t show up), Yuki suggests disbanding the Club due to the countless dead bodies showing up... which sounded weird, because so far there have been only two deaths. I know, it is concerning, specially given the city’s size and all, but as the first one was approached as an accident, and not murder, it felt overly exaggerating. Not to mention, it was not like the Club was going around town and its forbidden places to investigate anything whatsoever. Less than that, the Club had done nothing at all except a little party and barbecue, so...? It felt like pointless drama.
Damn, that Inora’s snap the next day when the heroine and Hino go to the cafe was just... ridiculous. It made me like the character even less, specially when he came with the jealous type and wanted to force the MC to eat the strawberry tarts. Big red flags here.
Well, the cat that Hino gave the tart to turns up dead, so...
At that point I started suspecting everyone. We never learned why Yua was down the day of the festival, and during Hino’s route there was a day when you came to the cafe with him and everyone was acting weird... so I guess everyone had their own secrets going backstage.
Things then start to escalate quickly... Yuki is kidnapped, you’re attacked... Isora supposedly saves you and takes you to an underground warehouse, where he keeps you (Touma vibes, anyone?) for who knows how many days. He snaps when the heroine suggests leaving to wash her clothes. Their relationship becomes very abusive and concerning.
In the end, the man in the mask appears and try to kill the MC, but is saved by Isora. It turns out that Isora and the heroine had known each other for a long time, as she had spent a summer in Okunezato as a child. Also, the masked man says he is the one who poisoned the tarts and attacked the MC, so there was that.
Honestly, it was relieving to hear that Isora wasn’t at fault for those things, but he still confined the heroine in the warehouse, which is just as bad. He isn’t a good character, in my opinion, as he tends to snap a lot and his relationship with heroine isn’t a healthy one.
Another thing was that Yuki came back safe and sound, supposedly the Murakumo family had abducted him to scold him... like, what? Who does that
I didn’t enjoy his route. What made me mad was that his actions were overlooked in the end, just because he saved the heroine’s life. The Murakumo’s decision to abduct Yuki was also ignored, which just doesn’t ring right. Inora did recognize his fault in the end, BUT he never said anything about wanting to change, nor trying to. Worse than that, he says he might do it again! What!?
It was a sacrilege to go through his route, specially trying to get the happy ending. You have to be complacent to all he does, not talking back or else. My mind was screaming for me to run everytime, but I was forced to play along, which made it tiring. He is a big no-no for me.
Leaving all that to the side, the only thing you learned from this route was the fact that the MC has lived in Okunezato, which means that her brother also did (probably?), so... they probably have more unexplored or uncovered ties around the town. Not to mention, it gave a place for her brother to stay in while he came back, a year ago.
Oh, another thing is that the masked man was unmasked when he attacked the MC, and she says he was a guy, although she couldn’t see his face. I don’t doubt that he might turn out to be her brother.
One last thing, as I was going for the low affection ending and refused to ride the boat, Isora talks about his father’s passing. He said one day (after passing away), his father reappeared, called his name and a black figure appeared behind him. He later says it must’ve been a dream, but it left me wondering... maybe his father was resuscitated by the flower, and the black figure was the cat-masked man. So, maybe the reason that the cat-masked man is after the MC is because she is dead, and was brought back to life with the flower.
