Obviously I’m not saying they’re not together just because of them not spending the birthday together but it just adds to the rest. I’m sorry if I “tire you” or “seem 12” but if my boyfriend/girlfriend turned 30 I would enjoy to be with them but hey! that’s me. (Your response and the reply under it is why everyone is tired of this fandom btw! The fact that I asked something completely valid and wasn’t even attacking you and yet you reacted like I was.. just says a lot. You’re all so blinded by this ship that if someone says something that interferes with your beliefs, you get aggressive. It’s not healthy!)

1. How would I know you’re not saying they’re not together just because of the birthday? That’s literally all you said in your message.

2. How do either of us know where Harry or Louis were on Harry’s birthday? How do we know whether or not Harry celebrated his birthday with certain people on a different day? I’m not saying they were together, but we don’t know, so it’s not a detail I use to make a definite decision.

3. If you think your ask where you weren’t “attacking me” is the only ask I get like that in a day full of asks that clearly are attacking me, you’re sorely mistaken. If you saw the state of my inbox on any given day, you’d understand why a question like yours is tiring. If you want to make sure you’re understood, consider the context and the bigger picture of what larries deal with. You act like my irritation is so unexpected and out of the blue because you know your intentions, yet you failed to make them clear to me.

4. “Everyone” is tired of this fandom because this fandom has become a steaming pile of shit, in part, because people act without any common sense when they’re hidden anonymously behind a computer screen. I answer hundreds of anons with more patience than they deserve. I highly doubt people are tired of this fandom because I occasionally get frustrated.

5. “You’re all so blinded by this ship” tells me all I need to know about how friendly your intentions were. I’ve been very clear about where I stand with my thoughts about their relationship. And I’m not being “aggressive” because you’re “interfering with my beliefs.” I’m irritated because the way your question was worded makes it sound like yet another thoughtless, childish comment and I do occasionally get tired of dealing with people who send me messages like that. If you send me a single sentence about a volatile topic, don’t expect me to think you’re looking for a deep discussion.

Normal/Flying/Enigma - or 'Larry is a goddamn Christmas present, and here's what I found when I unwrapped him'

... Fucking Larry, huh? Mad guy. Absolutely unhinged set of pixels. He's got as many interpretations as days in the year - autism, depression, the working man stereotype, 'just a dude', to name a few - but... and I know this is a bold claim, but I think I've got him figured out. I've already meta'd him before on a smaller scale, and concluded that Mister Quiet, Calm and Collected here is actually a secret showman who loves crowd approval, so let's carry on.

Let's work our way under his skin, yeah? You just sit there and eat onigiri king, take a well-deserved break.

Let's start with the obvious: Larry has no clue who he is. He gives you the Facade TM, tells you he hopes you have no need to put on the same front as him, and then during his rematch says this on why he loves Normal types:

... Which is all well and good, right? Fair, valid, pretty regular guy - except oh no wait, hang on, he is literally the least ordinary trainer in this franchise.

This right here is a perfect example of the duality of Larry already, and we've just started. He's a showman, an exhibitionist in the Pokemon arena, and he duel-serves as Elite Four and gym leader.

Just to put that into context for those fans who are newer than my veteran ass, no one does that. Even those who got promoted later - Lance, Koga and Wallace, unless I'm forgetting anyone else - have never wielded two titles simultaneously. And even in their promotions, Lance, Koga and Wallace keep their damn types. They don't master a whole new one, at the highest of battling levels, on a goddamn whim because their boss said to. Whether he likes it or not, by the established standards of this series, Larry is a fucking genius. Even those with mixed teams don't hold type mastery to this degree. Whether or not you personally found him easy or difficult to defeat either time is not the point - literally, no one's doing it like he is. He trains four entire new team members, between his three jobs (because oh yeah, he's got another one), to the late fifties/early sixties in levels and acts like it ain't shit. That's endgame levels to anyone else, the culmination of their eighteen-badge journey or their literal years of training - for Larry, it's fucking LEISURE TIME. Man's doing this in front of Netflix.

... And we're supposed to believe he's NORMAL? And the thing is, I don't even think he's gaslighting us, at least not consciously - he genuinely believes this. This is his normal.

No wonder Geeta sticks him in the gym right next to Area Zero. 90% sure he could solo the place if you gave him a few hours to go and catch the right team. Don't even know what we're doing here, to be quite honest. Might as well go home and hug the Skwovet in my own lounge, the adorable little bastard. What the honest fuck.

My man, take a look in that mirror as you munch those delicious rice balls. There ain't a single thing regular about you. Larry seems to have no clue that his life is anything but standard - he walks around wearing a facade. His penultimate mon, which I've covered the significance of before with Flapple and Hassel (and with Larry himself here), is Staraptor, a lone wolf, who leaves the flock upon evolving to live alone, and yet his ace Flamigo only functions well in a group. Just a quick compare-and-contrast between the dex entries of them both here:

Thing is, right... if he walks around wearing a facade, why does he? In fact, whilst we're on the subject of his team, why doesn't he take his clearly vacation-themed team ON A VACATION?

Look at these guys.

Palm trees, tropical birds, blue skies with clouds, and... well, Staraptor's clearly his favourite. Man's got a holiday-themed squad, which leads us to another core point:

Larry doesn't drown himself in work because he likes it, he does it because he doesn't have anything else.

Logically, Larry must make bank. We don't know what the gym leaders get paid - though for the first time, we know that they definitely do, thanks to this:

And not only does he get paid from this, but he's in the Elite Four - every sensible conclusion says that this man has to be one of the highest-paid trainers in Paldea. And he's got a third job that we don't even know about. Bearing in mind that every other adult NPC in this game seems to get along just fine with one or two jobs, I don't think we need to remotely worry about Larry's finances.

And he doesn't particularly like any of his jobs, so he doesn't do them for love... and if he doesn't take any time off, he must be drowning in potential time to take off...

So, why doesn't he go on holiday? Why does he drown himself in work he dislikes when he has no financial need to; why does he live a lie; why doesn't he find out who he is?

Well, there's only one thing that really connects all that together, isn't there?

Larry's life is a void because he's alone.

When people are lost, they throw themselves into work to find purpose. What's the point of going on holiday when you've got no one to go with? This man does embody a stereotype perfectly, but it's probably not the one you think. It's much simpler - 'money can't buy you happiness.'

He tells you about this loneliness himself, in a way.

Larry has normal and regular interests, in a world where he is anything but, and people only want to be surprised. No one gets him, whether because they're not on his battling level, or because he's too ordinary. And when no one gets you... how are you supposed to get yourself? However introverted we are, we experience ourselves partly through others. He has the Elite Four, who are 100% a found family, but... the problem with that is that they accept him at face value because they love him. Which is amazing and all, we adore that, but it means no one gets under his skin.

And the further problem of that is that he's no happier deep-down. And that's not on his colleagues, not at all. Rika is relaxed and easygoing, Poppy is a child, and Hassel... well, Hassel is drama, Hassel is married. Hassel has his own perfect love story already. Hassel has already seen someone a little bit like Larry before - directionless, depressed, unsure of his own self - and he went and promised him forever anyway. (Hello Brassius, I see you king. Be careful on that windmill.)

... And that... yeah, that's kind of the crux of it all. Larry needs him someone very much like Hassel; someone who sees through every layer of facade, someone who accepts. (... I realise this is me right now, and yes, I do volunteer as tribute. Come here, you beautiful fucking not-normal man. <3)

Essentially, what I'm saying is...

Larry needs a partner... and I don't mean another Pokemon one.

But, as sad a conclusion as that is... he's learning, by the end of your time with him.

(Can we talk about the chef lady in the background, by the way, who is ignoring her TikTok to listen to his conclusion? What a sweetheart.)

We've taught him to open himself up a bit, to start embracing the new and the different. We've started to help this man, and if that isn't the most worthy thing my Nuzlocke son Juan here has done in his adventure through Paldea that wasn't helping a sick dog, I don't know what is.

As much as they annoy us sometimes, happiness is other people. Other people who see your soul, and smile. Perhaps he doesn't even need a romantic partner... perhaps he just needs the world's best friend.

But whatever it is that he needs... let him go on holiday, Game Freak. Let him be him, and very happy because of it. Give him a Hassel who isn't Hassel, and a month off at a certain DLC festival to spend with them. Larry exists in a club of one - he's too talented in the same breath as he's too average.

(Personally, I think he should take Katy, but... hey, that's me and my vanillacupcakes agenda. And the fact her ace is a Normal type who likes dessert.)

Let's break this down into what MCU Loki/Larry!Loki (because like it or not, he's canonically Loki Prime now) needs/would respond to most in a partner, where Sylvie falls short, and where any asshole with a pen or keyboard could've done better.

1- Loki needs to recover from his hideous past family trauma. Every single MCU film he is in, to some extent, adds to his already miles-long list of reasons why he should trust no one in this existence, least of all the people closest to him. In order to fall in love, he has a LOT of barriers to break down, and the TVA has only been seen to break those down via more psychological torture. An ideal partner for Loki would be patient, level-tempered, and someone who can soothe his past pain as opposed to tell him to suck it up, he deserves it. Sylvie ultimately only adds to his trauma by using him throughout the series despite his permitting her to get close to him.

2- Loki needs to be forgiven for his past sins. Yes, he nearly conquered New York City. The films went over all that. He got punished in TDW. He basically received further punishment throughout Ragnarok, where no one trusts him until the climax, when he pulls through with the escape ship. He's long since redeemed himself, and while Larry!Loki hasn't gone through the events of TDW and Ragnarok, the movies still indicate he can and has felt guilt for his past transgressions. In this timeline, perhaps instead of constantly being punished, he could find a forgiving ally who shows him the deeper sides of himself that remain unaffected by his bad choices. Sylvie is further punishment for Loki, not forgiveness. She puts him down, commands him, treats him like an inconvenience, and he follows her subserviently as if paying off a penance instead of moving forward.

3- Loki needs to be validated and loved without compromise. So few people have shown love for him. Real love. Thor does sometimes, but his relationship with Loki is far from consistent. Loki loves his mother, but he's been shown her death at the TVA so now even that's just another bullet wound in his chest. He's never had any consistency or reason to get comfortable with anyone. The show seems to think Loki doesn't need to be given a soft word or a peaceful embrace because of his past penchant for violence. Why not? We don't tell traumatized veterans to 'suck it up' even after being violent in war (or, rather we shouldn't be). Sylvie taunts and orders him around, devaluing him at every turn and sending mixed signals.

4- Loki needs an equal (at the very least!). Loki is still a trickster, a mercurial god of Asgard who would probably find a companion who measured equal-to (but not above OR below) him in terms of intellect and attitude. Why would he be able to fall in love with anyone who makes him feel unworthy, seeing as he places so much value on power and external validation? I'm not sure why the MCU thinks it's anywhere in Loki's MO that he'd be romantically/sexually attracted to being 'beneath' his partner. Wouldn't the opposite be true, given how he LITERALLY TRIES USURPING THE THRONE?? Sylvie is stated outright to be his superior in every way, serving to only further demote Loki's worth in his own eyes.

Characters can be left up to interpretation, but I still think it's messed up as hell to say that Sylvie is perfect for Loki. I sincerely get by on the thought that, odds are, TH hates the character as much as we do. I think it's travesty that all the hype around season 2 implies that we really getting the continuation of the 'true love story' of Loki and Sylvie.

I did think the show was at it's best when it was pushing the rivalry between bird and johnson, and I think the making him more of an asshole in season 1 would have worked better cause it could be from magic's perspective, then he gets fleshed out in season 2, but even then he still didn't get fleshed out as much as he could have been. Also the way they cut that episode where it goes from him seeing his dead dad, to buss romancing the new girlfriend was such a bad tonal shift. They could have cut that and had his mom appear, instead of holding her until the last episode. You don't introduce her with less than five minutes of screen time and then give her a 10 second big emotional payoff, you don't do that with an audience who isn't familiar with the real life people.

Another major issue for me was how they focused way more on the managerial side than the players, to the point that they would cut out a lot of the playing moments to focus on what buss and his family are doing. We know way more about the managing staff than most of the guys who are actually on the team playing basketball. And I think that's best exemplified by the fact that the final episode doesn't end on magic and the team, but on buss and his daughter.

Another thing I noticed, and I don't know if it was just me, but they seemed to continuously undercut the serious tone of moments if they were for characters that weren't the main focus, like that scene I mentioned with larry, them playing good vibrations over jeff mckinney's accident, which are just the ones that I remember really standing out to me as weird to do for actual real life tragedies.

I just think it was badly written overall.

All that said, I do like rewatching all the larry bird scenes.

I think these are all super valid points, and I agree with basically all of it. I understand them trying to focus on Buss because it was about the building of a dynasty, but that doesn't mean that it was compelling at all and it felt like they were interrupting the more interesting parts of the story. Especially in cases like, yeah, cutting from Larry's father's suicide to Buss and his girlfriend. I definitely felt like I had to sit through almost all of the family and business drama stuff just to get to the stuff I actually wanted to see.

Their approach to Larry's mom was really frustrating to me bc it diminished her role in his life a little bit in exchange for the dramatic punch of his father's death, but the fact that she wasn't seen *at all* during the episode they set aside for his backstory was baffling. I think maybe they were trying to have it be like they were saving seeing Larry's soft side to juxtapose it against when he was at his most "villainous" to the Lakers, but that didn't mean having to cut out his mother completely until that moment. Especially since she got so little screen time even then.

Part of me wonders if it was supposed to be just a taste of seeing her influence before presumably showing her hand in Magic and Larry's eventually friendship in the next season (which is now not happening), like they were trying to foreshadow something, but to be honest, I think it's largely the fact that there was too much shit happening in the second season. Literally too many plot threads. So all this stuff got relegated to only a few minutes.

I do enjoy the times when it actually is about Larry and Magic, because that's the most fleshed out/interesting thing that they had, though I do think that there's some interesting stuff about the politics of the team if only they'd approached it right. But they really wanted to make a show about the business drama first, it feels like, which sucks bc it means that the big charismatic people, the players, are second banana to the team owners and the coaches. Also again, I just...I did not care about the family drama. At all. I'm sure other people loved it, Buss is undoubtedly an interesting man, but I wanted to pull my hair out every time it cut to it.

I think they were trying for something that could've been interesting stylistically/presentation-wise, but also it came across as really messy and half-baked at a lot of points. There were moments where it really shined though, but it didn't always work. It's definitely disappointing.

I'm with you on the writing hahaha a lot of deep sighing and frustration on my part while watching. The pacing was so weird, a lot of moments that were supposed to hit felt entirely unearned or out of place.

And also liking rewatching the Larry Bird scenes. As weird and exaggerated as it was, I think you could tell they were having fun with him. If only they'd gotten better wigs and the actor didn't feel like he had to make his own mouth smaller by pursing his lips all the time ahahaha (I still think about how that was gonna be Bo Burnham and I get sad)

Larry’s Facade, Bravado, and Karagenki

Larry’s Facade comment has really fascinated me, and after thinking it over, I realized how it doesn’t make sense at all. I will be comparing the English and Japanese lines for this analysis, but please let me know what I missed/mistaken in the Japanese translations, I am not an expert in any means!

His iconic line in English is “I think it’s time to show you that real life isn’t all just being true to yourself,” before using Facade. A Facade is the concept of an (usually happy or kind) outward appearance made specifically to conceal true feelings. It can conceal any type of emotion, but the dictionary definitions of this word tend to be more negative, seeing facades as deceptive masks that hide hostility and despair.

In Japanese, he says something along the lines of “Let me show you the special move of us working adults” before using からげんき, the romanji being Karagenki. The kanji for Kara (空) means empty, and the kanji for Genki (元気) means energy. So the literal translation of Karagenki (空元気) is ‘empty energy.’

From my understanding, Genki is a very abstract term. To break it down further, 元 means origin or source. 気 means air, spirit, mind, or life energy. So the direct translation for Genki is “source of life energy.” Since Kanji is based on Chinese characters, 気 is also Qi, the life energy that flows in every living being or even the universe. Genki can refer to this vital energy! But it is commonly used as a way to express your health, energy, and mood.

It’s interesting to me that 気 literally translates to air. Was this another sneaky foreshadowing Larry being a Flying Type Elite Four member? Maybe not, it’s just kanji haha. But there’s the possibility!

The actual definition of Karagenki is akin to ‘false cheeriness, health, or energy.’ It’s pretending that you’re fine and happy when you’re not, which is very important skill to have for work. It is often translated as Bravado, but accuracy of this word depends heavily on the context. Bravado is the concept of putting on a brave or confident face to impress or intimidate others. Karagenki can also be translated as “Dutch Courage,” the courage you get when you are intoxicated…but this is a game targeted toward children haha

The Pokémon move Facade/Karagenki makes a lot of sense because it deals double the base power when the Pokémon is paralyzed, poisoned, or burned. The Pokémon is putting in more effort despite suffering from status ailments. Larry states he does his best work when it’s crunch time. The connection between the Pokémon move and his worklife is so brilliant for his characterization!Additionally, Larry’s Staraptor has the ability Intimidate (Ties in with Bravado). I would say case solved, but there’s this slight dissonance between his dialogue and these definitions. Karagenki is his special move- but does he use truly use it?

Larry is extremely upfront at how he doesn’t like his boss, that he’ll get a pay cut, that he just wants to get the battles over with, etc. Larry just dumps all of this to a 10 year old without much regard for appearances, he doesn’t pretend to be happy or motivated at all. He even says that Geeta, his boss, won’t catch him doing his work for fun! He doesn’t shield his personality and true feelings behind a Facade- he’s very forward about his own values. The only moment he looks somewhat happy is when he’s eating onigiri in our gym badge photo.

It’s also implied that he wouldn’t have Terastillazed in the gym battle if it weren’t for the encouragement from the restaurant crowd. Additionally, his gym leader blurb states “he helps run the Pokémon League,” but “is not the best rated worker.” He puts in the bare minimum in his work and has no pride in it (valid).

Some people say that everything Larry was before the Elite Four reveal was his facade. That being a gym leader and an office worker was his “disguise.” But I don’t think is the case. After examining the dialogue, I believe that Larry was a Gym Leader first, then became an Elite Four member. He was told to use a different type other than his Normal Gym type after all. Plus, Larry has no personality change or satisfaction with the E4 reveal. To the players, we are shocked because we never would’ve expected to see him. But to him, despite the extremely impressive accomplishment of being an E4 member, it’s just another job and routine.

So looking this over, what in the world is Larry’s Facade? As usual, I’m not sure. I think the closest answer is that he’s forcing himself to work despite his lack of energy (Karagenki). But this doesn’t entirely line up either. His English line is interesting because it implies that he isn’t being “true to himself” in some way, just like what a Facade is. I also understand it from the point of view that he just wants to eat good food and relax without having to work. He is based off the stereotype of the overworked Japanese salaryman after all. But I’m still conflicted, because his lines give the impression that he’s a workaholic. He was strictly told by someone to cut down on his overtime hours, likely by Geeta because it sounds like it wasn’t his decision to make. He overworks himself despite already having three jobs.

Edit: there’s a really good comment regarding workaholism in the notes! Sometimes a person’s/character’s actions aren’t as logical as we’d like them to be, and come from unhealthy habits and cycles of guilt. It’s entirely possible that Larry also just developed this habit of overworking to the point he can’t really stop himself.

The game is keeping its secrets for now, but this is very cool for any personal theories/headcanons you have for Larry. Autistic Larry is real haha. Jokes aside, I think the complexity of dialogue and behavior is really fascinating. So much can be revealed about a character in well-crafted subtleties. But what do y’all think about this analysis? LARRY 3000 GENDER ANALYSIS

I've been wanting to do this for such a long time so AHEM. Here's how the Dr. Freud episode (because of course it's that episode) may suggest Larry is Transgender™ in one way or another.

This analysis is mostly based on one aspect from The Island of Dr. Freud: Larry's dream. It appears in the beginning and comes back around to tie the plot together when he recounts his nightmare to Freud so he can start analyzing dreams like he's supposed to. I believe it's been sort of... overlooked by everyone? Or maybe I'm just insane.

As a preface, I'd like to say that this is a purely queer reading of Larry. One could argue his sense of 'otherness' comes from being a robot (something he is actually teased about in the show) but considering this is set in the future where robots are commonplace, as shown in the Recruitment Ad, I don't see it as very likely. Another non-queer interpretation is that Larry's 'otherness' comes from being too sensitive or simply feminine, which is totally valid. That being said, I think anyone who's even a little into Time Squad knows that Larry is anything but straight. But without further ado, let's' begin this analysis.

Larry's nightmare/dream goes as follows:

"I'm in this dark room, all alone…

Suddenly, I notice a table.

I move over to it and take a seat."

"In front of me is a delicious ambrosia salad.

I'm very excited about enjoying the salad…"

"However, when I reach for my fork…

...instead, in my hand, I hold…"

"A shoe.

A SHOE!

NOT A FORK, A WRETCHED SHOE!"

(WHAT DOES IT MEAN, DOCTOR?! WHAT DOES IT ALL MEEAAANNNN?!)

Now, usually, if you had a dream like this you'd think of it as something absurd and nonsensical, which is exactly what Freud thinks when Larry tells him, but it goes deeper than that. According to the start of the episode, he's had this exact dream multiple times, almost like a constant reminder. One could then argue that it's a part of his subconscious trying to tell him something. That's why I think analyzing his dream is worth it.

Back to the end of the episode, Otto takes note of Larry's despair and does a little analysis of his own, assigning things from L's dream to aspects of his life:

"The dark room clearly represents the world, and the ambrosia salad is society. And the shoe… the shoe is you! Never quite fitting in. Don't you see, Larry? You just want to be loved."

We'll get back at the parts I marked in bold later. For now, with the help of Otto, let's look back at L3K's dream with these elements in mind:

Larry finds himself in a dark world (the room), all alone. This has both a literal meaning, as Larry's first 9 years were spent in a warehouse, and a metaphorical one, where he's found himself without anyone that really understands him. Sure, he's close to certain folks like Otto, Buck or XJ5, but there's something that keeps Larry from entirely connecting with them.

He then notices a table and takes a seat. It's hard to define what exactly it could mean, and it doesn't appear to be significant to his dream's message, so I feel it's best not to try and find a meaning where there is none.

Here's where this analysis' most important element comes into play: The ambrosia salad, the one Larry is "very excited to enjoy". His wording is crucial here; he doesn't just want to 'eat' the salad, he's looking forward to savoring the experience. He has high expectations of what society will offer him and how he might be able to fit in. It's also very important to note Larry's special connection to food -there's an entire analysis dedicated to this- as he calls the salad "delicious" merely by looking at it. He finds the idea of fitting into society interesting, or at least desirable in some way.

Unfortunately, Larry is the shoe. When he reaches for himself, for an identity that allows him to enter society, he finds... that something is very, very wrong with him. He's supposed to be a fork, but he turned out to be a shoe. Something wretched, horrifying, something that directly tells Larry he could never fully integrate himself into society in any way, shape or form.

Here's where Otto's final thoughts come in: Try as he might, Larry will never be able to quite fit in. All he wants is to be loved unconditionally by those around him, without the need to put up a show of sass-lip and snootiness. But alas, until others can put aside their differences, Larry is a shoe and will continue to be a shoe.

What does all of this amount to? In simple terms, Larry's nightmare is his subconscious telling him that he is a misfit thrown into a world that doesn't think, speak or act like him. He can't relate to anyone for some reason, but what is that reason exactly?

Anyone who's questioned their gender identity knows how alienating the world can be, even before realizing they're transgender. It's the same "otherness" I talked about earlier, the knowledge that you're different from everyone else. Larry is definitely aware of this but he can't pin down why. He's scared of what the world thinks of him. After all, he's not "just a robot", he's THE Larry 3000. Can robots suffer from social dysphoria rooted in being seen as machines without feelings? I'd like to believe so, demonstrated in other shows like Jenny from MLAATR and Robot Jones from WHTRJ. Larry falls into this category too, clearly displayed in his fights with Tuddrussel:

He wants to be more than just a robot, but he doesn't realize he already is. Larry refuses to follow anyone's orders on what he should be, and instead chooses a path of his own.

Hi! Do you think that either of them still want/need support from us as they seemed to do in the band? They both seem to protect their private lives way more now. And I guess that’s part of maturing and changing how you see the world and how it sees you. I mean, other than Louis shouting “him” in his concerts, he’s much more subdued now. Louis and Harry both do live very different lives with very different careers these days. We aren’t seeing them interact at all, and it can be frustrating to still believe in it but barely see any of it as a comparison of the 1d days. And yes, they certainly did need our support more back then, because they weren’t used to the closeting. They were young, didn’t understand why their love could be seen as so wrong, and we’re struggling under the pressure from their team, including constant tours and albums etc., ya know? So I think they relied on our support so heavily to get them through, particularly with RBB and the Big Gay War.

But coming out, no matter who you are, but particularly if you’re coming out to millions of people and you can face severe backlash, is super terrifying. Their careers will be affected, their privacy gone, and trying to navigate that while touring and stunting and dealing with contracts from even the 1d days still hanging over their heads, would just be so tricky. It’s a huge plan and timeline they will need to work through, as to not crash and burn and fuck over people who quite literally hold their careers in their hands. Unless they get sick of it and just break one day and don’t care who will sue them and what will happen, then it’s gonna be a long process.

But throughout this long process, they’re gonna need us. They’ve needed us from the very start, and still to this day they see what we say and our support online and I’m sure they love that we’re still fighting for them, even though they haven’t been on the same bloody continent for god knows how long. They still see us loving them for who they truly are, and not lapping up their public personas like the rest of the GP. It would certainly feel very validating.

When they come out, boy they’re gonna need us. Shit is gonna hit the fan. The fans are gonna fight like crazy and it’s gonna be absolute chaos, which is probably another thing they understand could be very bad for their careers right now. But we’ll be supporting them and we’ll be here til the very end.

A lot of larries have left since the hiatus, because they felt they didn’t need to bother supporting Larry anymore because there wasn’t any content between them to support. They entirely blanked each other (except for a few mentions in interviews) and so people gave up. Felt like they were wasting their time on “guys who didn’t want to come out” and all that. So it’s pretty heartbreaking, but it can be very hard to stick around and show support for something which you aren’t actually seeing. It’s really sad, and I hope those true larries will support them throughout their coming out.

And wow, that must’ve been tricky being so far away from your partner for so long, but being with someone for 20 years definitely shows your love, understanding, patience, and acceptance of each other, which is truly beautiful. And it does seem similarly to Harry and louis now that they’ve been together for over a decade. They’re doing their thing now, whatever that looks like to them, and it’s kind of become pretty normal, but they’re making it work. They see us, and we see them.

In short, I think they still definitely want us, but the way they need us has probably shifted slightly. Not more or less, but they now need our support for them in different ways now that they’re solos and we aren’t seeing their love every day anymore. They’re probably shocked we’re all still here tbh hahahaha. The patience larries have is undeniable.

So I've noticed that in the NATM fandom alot of people like to centre angst and injury around thr exhibits. This is very valid and honestly there are some amazing works of art and fanfics out there,but it makes me think about how none of it would really be possible???

Like for instance Jed in the hourglass in NATM 2,surely if he did infact get buried in sand he would be fine the next night??? I mean for one he is literally plastic, but also the tablet brings people back to life????Ahkmenrah is literally a prime example of that?

Therefore the only person that's every in real proper danger to their health is Larry.(and Nicky in some cases)

He's one of the only humans(alive) in the franchise and many scenes where he did almost die could've gone so much worse if it wasn't for pure luck.

The current take in fandom is that HL want to be closeted. That their behavior indicates that they have no intention of coming out any time soon. And tbh I can definitely see how people are coming to that conclusion. What I'm struggling to understand is that if Harry and Louis truly want to be closeted and for the Larry rumors to die then why are things still the way they are. What I mean by that is why is there still the signalling and the obviousness from them both. Louis didn't have to act the way he did for the beginning few weeks of his tour last year, being very blatant about Larry stuff. Their stunts could look more convincing if they truly wanted them to. So sometimes I struggle to marry the idea that they want to be closeted with their actions that sometimes say otherwise. They literally could go completely silent in regards to any and all Larry for like a solid year and I am sure the rumors would die down a little bit if the fans were not being fed anything. So why continue to do it? I guess maybe they like having that support and people seeing them for who they really are but then that takes me back to having people see them for who they really are sort of defeats the purpose a closet. Well, to me, them „coming out“ individually or together really is for the GP, not for me. Like, I know already. We know already.

We joke about Harry having come out a million times, but he kind of has - to us. Both of them are queer coding, which is to signal to the queer community and find support in them without having to go through public scrutiny which isn’t a safe space.

To me, they’ve found a good way to communicate with us, find support in us, show us they are just like us, and it finds the people that are in the community themselves, and I think that might be enough for them for now, to know they’ve got the support of the people that are important to them. I don’t see Louis having the need to come out to potentially homophobic people.

So to me it makes perfect sense. They’ve found a good balance of keeping up the communication and finding the support in their fan base, while enjoying the privacy that the closet allows them (at least rn). To me, they’re not signalling „Larry is real“ with the goal of „just wait a little longer, we’ll come out soon and proof you right“ but as a „we see you seeing us for who we really are, thank you for the support and loving us the way we really are,“ as a way of everyday life, not leading up to something. I’ve made my peace with the very real possibility of them never coming out. Makes my experience and recognition of their queer coding any less valid. To me it’s a „I see you and you see me and we witness our truths together in this life and that’s all that matters.“

For Harry, I can see that he might want to come out, for himself and for others, but that’s unlinked from Larry coming out.

So yeah… I don’t see the „not coming out“ as something negative, as long as it seems they’re content with it. I also see that it used to be different, and that there certainly was a time where they wanted to come out.

In the end, for me, it is most important that they are navigating their closet and their potential coming out happens exactly how they want it to happen. Their control over the entire situation has been taken away so much, so that’s my #1 priority.

If the only way for you to see Taekook's bond as anything special is to tear down Jikook's and how it's perceived then you're basically admitting that your ship can't stand on its own and needs comparison to seem superior.

You compare how they spend time together, how they support the other, how they travel together, what they show or don't show, and you have double standards and put minimal to no expectations on Taekook because you've already made up ypur mind that they're a couple. So it doesn't matter if one doesn't show up for the other's birthday, it doesn't matter if one doesn't support the other publicly, it doesn't matter if one has a whole ass girlfriend. That can all be explained in a way that revolves around the concept of Taekook being a couple.

It'd be less embarrassing if you at least say they might've broken up. And you'll still keep shipping Taekook even if they end up like Larry because that's how you operate, you set yourself up for failure by believing in non-existent couples then make excuses for anything that doesn't fit your already existing narrative. And even if you don't actually hate Jimin now, believe me, someday you will. Because Jimin will keep being a thorn in your side and you'll find yourself hoping him and Jungkook stop being friends altogether no matter how much you try to convince yourself that their friendship isn't any danger to your precious Taekook. That's the unfortunate fate of every Taekooker and there's proof of it happening countless times before. The Taekooker-to-Jimin-anti pipeline is very real.

I do shade Jikookers though, because let’s be real.. you aren’t exactly nice to me are you? Your ask isn’t even the worst I’ve gotten. I really don’t care much, but I will throw shade because of it. You may think Jikookers stand synonymous to Jimin and Jk’s bond, but that is not how I see things. To me you are the ones misinterpreting their friendship.

But what can we expect from a Larry/Taekooker? Louis has a whole child and Harry keeps jumping from girlfriend to girlfriend but you still think there might be a possibility it's all a PR play and they're secretly dating instead of just accepting that you might've been wrong. It'd be less embarrassing if you at least say they might've broken up. And you'll still keep shipping Taekook even if they end up like Larry because that's how you operate, you set yourself up for failure by believing in non-existent couples then make excuses for anything that doesn't fit your already existing narrative.

Going for the big guns I guess.. I’ve actually stated that I’m not sure Louis and Harry are together now (read my blog if you’re so pressed). What did Louis and Harry end up as though? Succesfull artists? And from my perspective, you are the one believing in a non-existing couple.

And even if you don't actually hate Jimin now, believe me, someday you will. Because Jimin will keep being a thorn in your side and you'll find yourself hoping him and Jungkook stop being friends altogether no matter how much you try to convince yourself that their friendship isn't any danger to your precious Taekook. That's the unfortunate fate of every Taekooker and there's proof of it happening countless times before. The Taekooker-to-Jimin-anti pipeline is very real.

You have such a negative perspective. I won’t think badly of Jimin, because there is no reason to. Nothing will happen to give me a reason to hate him. I know Jikookers are expecting some great Jikookery to happen, but come on.. nothing much has actually happened has there. All your grand moments aren’t that to me. If I don’t hate Jimin now (with all your Rosebowl and GCF proof and whatnot) what could possibly happen to make me hate him. Jimin and Jk are friends. Tae and Jk are friends… i will see only friendship. And that would never make me hate anyone.

Anon, do yourself a favor and don’t visit my blog. You clearly get upset because of my words. You don’t need that in your life. I’m sure there’s many Jikook blogs that you can talk to. You and I just aren’t a great match.
