CHECK "FINALE WEDDING" off the Telenovela Bingo!!

All joking aside I think its pretty obvious Lupe's is suffering from some form of Stockholm Syndrome, which is sadly quite common in people involved in TOXIC AF relationships, Chino has hurt these two so much I honestly can't really root for him on any capacity anymore at this point. I hope Lupe gives herself a chance at happiness and an actual healthy relationship, she's been trough so much shit she truly deserves some peace at this point, same goes for Juls obviously.

So apparently everyone remembered phones exist on this EP?

Juls (as usual) is planning some shit, and by that I mean going to confront her dad on her own about him STILL tormenting her and her mom, and as much as I applaud her for it, he's still a fuckin' violent crazy ass Hitman? So Gurl...A for Courage but there's 1 EP left so ...CAN YOU NOT!?

They make each other so fuckin' happy UGHHHH. I'm pretty sure Val wants to tell Juls everything about Jacobo being her dad and obviously be a flirty mess around her as usual, Im just REALLY hoping that whole "car accident" some people seem to be freaking out about is just as real as the Costa Rica plot line at this point. There's gonna be SO MUCH DRAMA already, please let them be happy for a bit?

Just let them go out and buy some ice cream and relax for a change? ;) lol.

OMG ...Val's has NO fuckin' clue...I think that's even worse for Lucia, to KNOW these people still LOVE her and TRUST her so much, and to know that to a certain degree she DOESN't deserve it? ANGST LEVEL OVER 9000.

I saw some slightly spoilery things around the Internet, and Telenovelas are NOT (usually) into Tragic Endings, but Lucia's REALLY got me wondering if this could be an exception, this show's been all about breaking the mold so maybe they could pull it off? I guess we'll see.

People give Juls a LOT of shit, she's a woman of few words, but when she says something, SHE MAKES IT COUNT, look at her spelling it out for her asshole ignorant dad. *SLOW CLAP*

Beltran I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you but honestly, Boi BYE. He better not try some last minute shit I SWEAR TO GOD...

I really think they haven't announced anything due to the very cliffhangery nature of the latest EPs?

I'd be incredibly surprised if they didn't expand on such a successful show and Juliantina has reached such MAINSTREAM appeal and success it would be a no brainer to ANY studio really, also Maca seems to be about to implode every time she talks about the "Surprises" (yep with an S) lol. Renata's actress posted some interesting stuff, the producers and THE WRITER engaging and encouraging people about the Spin Off/Season 2? ...C'mon XD.

Wait for the show to actually end before freaking out, just sayin'.

Amar a Muerte-Not so Perfect

So in my last posts about Amar a muerte and Juliantina I praise a lot what they did with the project. However, that doesn't mean that there's things on the novela that could be better or they could go in another direction (at least for me). So I decide to list those things and explain why I believe those things bothers me  a little. This is one of the post that is made just by my own opinions; so if you're not interested, please ignore it.

1. Mostly, what bother me most was the pace at the end of the novela. They left so many things to work at the end and then they put all of that on 3 episodes; a lot of things were push and another stuff were ignore.

2. Juliantina doesn't get a final kiss. After all of the things they experience in the show; is horrible that they don't get a kiss at the end of the novela. yeah both scenes at the end were perfect but the resolution of the relationship need a final kiss. Is more important if you realized that the last kiss juliana had is with Sergio. At least we have the spin off and the movie for fixing that.

3. Killing Lucia Borges. For those that watched the novela. They know that Lucia wasn't the best character. But still, she had a lot to improve; and in general was a kind soul. A lot of things happened to her (like her own mom made her a prostitute when she was young). so she deserves to live. Also mostly she died for the sake of Jacobo´s character; which is not the best probe. We didn't get to see her transmigrate; just the flower path. Lucia deserves better.

4. Eva Carvajal´s end. I think I'm gonna make another post just for this; but Eva´s ending was bittersweet for me. While I love the fact that she was the one that went to jail for her own choice; there's another factor that made that a little less enjoyable for me.

5. Not tme to heal. This is mostly my first point; but we really need to see Juliana and Valentina healing for all the things that happen to them. I mean, what juliana experienced at the end of the novela was to much; and she never had the option to deal with that.

6. Fucking Sergio. I HATE his character so much. I think I'm gonna make another post just for that; but yeah. Give me Luchos, Armentas, Jhonnys and Alacranes; but not give me Sergios. Those characters that pretend to be nice and kind but in the end are the worst really make my blood boil. 

7. Juliana doesn't get anyone else. Juliana got so much at the end, but at the same time we never see more than Valentina and Lupe in her life. Not even Panchito. Belchino got to be a little less bad parent but what we understood at the end is that what he was gonna give her is not bothering her anymore. But that's not enough. Juliana got two siblings with Panchito, and one with Belchino. It could be nice to experience that. Mostly because she was so alone for the most part of the novela. Also, we never saw her connect with Renata, which seeing that both were almost in the same situation it could be nice.

8. Belchino doesn't pay his debts. The fact that all the bad things that el Chino did wasn't payed is horrible. He got to be a good parent, a good husband, and a family that love him, without to have to experienced jail or something like justice. I know he was a main but still.

9. Plot holes. I'm not sure if they planned for season two, but there's a lot that they left open. Where is Leon´s Body? where is Beltran Camacho´s soul? Lucia´s soul transmigrated to who? How the hell Juliana got to be the new coming designer in two years if she didn't finish high school yet?

10. Death doesn't interact with Juliantina. The fact that death herself ship juliantina; that she knows that they're meant to be, and one of the parts of her plan was to put them together; is huge; so why she just look at Valentina once, when she was looking for answers about her father? I really hope we get to see her interact with the girls in the new projects. Maybe Juliana having doubts about their relationship and she shows up and encourage them?

Those are mostly the things that bother me about Amar a Muerte. I'm not sure if you think the same or would you add another ones.

ok as someone who just watches the juliantina scenes with English subs: this show is so much more complicated than I thought what the hell, why does everyone keep saying jacobo/leon

Oh, anon. 

Okay, so the show starts with Leon Carvajal, the older gray-haired rich guy, Val’s father, being assassinated at his wedding to Lucia, Val’s stepmom, the pretty blonde lady. At the same time, El Chino, Juliana’s dad, a hitman with dealings with a cartel, is executed. And a third guy, a professor, that tall mustachioed guy, Beltran, is killed in a car accident.

Leon’s body totally dies but his spirit goes into El Chino’s body. This entity now, El Chino’s body holding Leon’s spirit, calls itself Jacobo and goes and gets a job at the Carvajal house and keeps an eye on everything there. That’s why all those moments between Jacobo and Val are so significant. It’s also why he’s trying to avoid Juls, since she knows that body as her deadbeat hitman dad. 

El Chino’s spirit goes into the professor Beltran’s. That’s why he saved Lupe in the hospital and paid her bill and he had those weird reactions to seeing Juls at the hospital. 

Beltran’s spirit passed on, apparently he didn’t need to be redeemed. The point of these people coming back is to use this as a second chance. They have a butterfly tattoo on the back of their necks that starts to bleed when they go back to their shitty old ways. 

There’s obviously a lot more to it, but it’s imperative to know that the show centers on Leon (and Lucia, Val’s stepmom) and El Chino. So their daughters…Leon and El Chino’s, they connect everything.

Yeah, I’m disappointed that there was no kiss. But the thing that irritates me the most is the double standard we blantently saw in the episode with seeing Jacobo/Lucia having a softcore porn level love scene, Beltran and his wife having a makeout session, and Gullie and Renata having at least 2 kisses this episode. It’s just seeing that contrast and how far we have to go for equal representation that is the most frustrating.

Granted, I wouldn’t have wanted Juliantina doing what Jacobo/Lucia did bc that would have just made me feel super awkward on Barbara and Maca’s behalf. But, just a quick kiss or something would have felt at least a little more inclusive. Here’s hoping this story will be the jumping off point for less censorship of gay stories in the future.

When you think about it... no one really got a true tenelovela happy ending... tenenovelas happy ending is fairytale happy endings... live happy for everafter... here we have, leon heart broked, lucia dead, eva in prison, mateo with her wife in prison taking care of a kid that might no be his, beltran/chino sort of happy but worry about real beltran, leons body missing, renata saying no to guille even tho they seamed happy, did lupe even marry panchito? Juls and vale got a better happy ending than many, and yess kisses are nice but, juliantina out there touching people, and saving lifes, thats what this is really all about

Hello!! Potatanon here. It seems as though there’s some discussion about Juli staying because of Valentina with Lupe in the preview. Others I’ve seen some other stuff that makes it seem like she goes back and starts packing again. Usually there’s like 9 previews floating around. As we’ve discussed we know Juls will always respect Val’s need for time/space etc. Thoughts on will she decide to stay for Val or leave to protect Val. With just a little time left will she dip or will Lucia intervene?

That Lucia (actual victorias secret angel) Borges entrance completely made me rethink how I thought this would go down, spuds tbh. Cos I am now speculating that Lucia would think that the Valdez’ are conspiring against them or extort some cash since Jacobo pulled the Leon card and Juliana is Vale’s (just) friend. It just got super personal for Lucia. She might take offense on what Jacobo did and lash out on Lupe and Juli. Another part of me thinks that she would first ask Lupe if she knew about Jacobo/Leon happening. If Juli finally find out about this, she would most certainly stay and scooby gang the whole truth. 

good middle ground tho: They leave chivis’ place, still stay in the city, scooby gang the Beltran/Jacobo/Leon plot, and make out in somewhere because mutual pining would finally eat those two up.

Episode 80: A Really Reconciliatory Recap

*Grabs MEGAPHONE*  

Attention PLEASE....The Suegra has boarded the Ship...I repeat, The Suegra has boarded the ship!

I always knew that Lupe would come around, and do you know why? because she LOVES Juliana more than anything, and thats what you do when you love someone: you ACCEPT and SUPPORT them for who they really are.

I personally found Lupe's (and Eva's) initial reactions quite baffling, I would NEVER treat someone I care about like that but I KNOW its a reality for many people sadly.  I hope the Lupes and Evas watching the show can see themselves (and their kids/loved ones) in these characters and that It can help them understand and bridge the gap and realize that as clichè as it sounds, LOVE is LOVE.

This show is really out there changing lives for the better and I think it’d deserve all the accolades just for that (even tho the whole show is pretty amazing anyway lol). Humans learn through tales and stories and if Juliantina can make a parent change idea on homophobia or give hope to a kid that his/her parents will eventually come around and accept them then mission accomplished. Slow clap for all involved really, you’re making the world a better place,

One Lupe at a time.  

I hope that as we move forward more and more we can all respect and treat each other as HUMANS and understand that in the end we all love the same, there's just more than one way to show it... AND THAT's OK.

I honestly think Val pushed Juls away out of self preservation only, since she doesn't wanna risk getting burned (again) by a NOT-SURE-I-WANNA-DO-THIS-Juls. 

I think she's just waiting for her to actually go ALL-IN on the relationship and leave all doubts and drama behind, which I believe IS Juls intention anyway, she just has to fuckin' SHOW IT lol. Lupe's OK will definitely help with this IMO.

You can literally see the moment her heart sinks (and shatters into a million pieces) UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. No One does ANGST like a Telenovela you hear me? ...NO ONE.  

Is that Val and Tears I see? WHAT A SURPRISE!....Here's the Give-Val-A-Break edit, I knew it was bound to happen soon anyway lol.

Also Mayela ...keep that wine away from Valentina ...and while we're at it stay away from Valentina and that alberca as well, you hear me!? You're already making shit awkward for Guille and Renata and there's literally only a week left gurl ...AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT lol.

Beltran is fully into this redemption arc and all I can say is good for him, and that whole choose one wife/family path? ...Listen, Panchito can take it from here so yeah, the choice is quite simple if you ask me, just saying.

Lucia showing up to Chivis House ...Well shit. I think she could end up helping them honestly? Once Lupe tells her about Beltran and confirms the whole transmigration thing is real, and also she KNOWS Valentina cares about Juliana so I think she could end up doing the right thing and lend them a place to stay as well.

We've reached the "All IS LOST" part of the plot, which means the climax and resolution are right around the corner, this last week is gonna be WILD, I’m REALLY curious to see IF (and HOW WELL) they are gonna be able to stick ALL these landings, I haven't been much disappointed this far so hopefully they'll end on a high note, fingers crossed.

Also next EP is (the now infamous lol) EPISODE 81, normally I wouldn't pay much attention to a passing comment on an interview ...BUT this is Maca-The-Spoiler-Supreme we're talking about, So MAYBE they elope, have 3 kids, and go on honeymoon ...GUESS WHERE...Costa Rica hahahahaha.

I REALLY want to know what you guys think is gonna happen? let's turn this rambling monologue into a crazy-theories conversation, shall we?

So far Valentina was drinking and having a bit of fun until Mayela tried to be a bitch but it backfired on her which was the best. Juliana has to step out for Lupe and Lucia could talk and now she has confirmation that Leon is Jacobo. And Lucia called Juliana a really good friend to Valentina. Eva sent to kill Mateo, bust she regrets and called him to give him a heads up. Beltran/Chino and Leon/Jacobo are possibly dying like a previous transmigrada did who died the same way she did in her 1st life for straying off her path.

Most relatable scene: Juls talking with Lupe in the restaurant. Her concept about family and what she was feeling because Lupe didn´t accept it.

Most annoying interruption: The kiss in el valle house. Because Val basically planned that experience to get more intimate with Juls just the two of them, and that was the start of the angst.

Lupita, Eva, or Lucia: F@#k Eva she should be really amazing in bed / Marry Lucia  We could bond about our past/ Kill Lupe because is just a three option (Can I kill Beltran instead?). Is not fair to do this. Not a single female cast in this telenovela deserve to be choice to kill.

Would you mind giving us a quick break-down of where all the storylines are at going into the finale? Why are people saying Lucia might die? :(

Okay, so all the Carvajal kids and Johny and Lucia now know Jacobo is Leon. Guille and Val are thrilled but he’s taking a tough love approach to Eva because of the trouble she’s put the company in. He wants Eva to turn herself into the police but she’s currently with Alacran who has kidnapped and is torturing Mateo. She’s also, for some reason, told Alacran all about Leon and Chino Valdes, who as you know, he has been trying to chase down the whole show for stealing from him.

Jacobo knows that Eva is with Alacran and has recruited Beltran to help get her back. Jacobo and Beltran are also at the stage of their transmigration where their butterfly tattoos are hurting and bleeding much more frequently, and for no reason now, whereas before it only happened when they were doing something bad. From what we’ve seen before, they’re soon either going to have to fully accept things and lead better lives now or their bodies are going to fully die. We still don’t know where Leon’s real body is, and Beltran/Chino is having trouble with his new family because Beltran’s wife wants the real Beltran back.

Lupe has accepted Panchito’s proposal but still isn’t really sure about it, inexplicably still thinking about Chino, which Juls is frustrated at. She goes to talk to Beltran to tell him to leave them alone, but he just yells at her about being gay and threatens Val.

Val and Juls are back at a good place, though not yet together together, Val is very eager to tell Juls about Leon being Jacobo/Chino’s body. She’s also been very affectionate with and shown her gratitude to Lucia for helping them through the time they all thought Leon was gone, she sees her as another person who loved Leon as much as she did and is now also getting another chance with him. Lucia, though, feels very guilty about it all and also worried, because Leon knows about her and Johny.

Montilla, the cop, has figured out Johny is a bad guy and goes to arrest him but Johny starts shooting at the police.

Now, spoilers and spec as to why people think Lucia might die: the actress who plays her has said that this isn’t the typical telenovela ending and people are interpreting that to mean that that means, unlike other endings where the leads get to be happy, she might die. Also, the promo for the finale seems to have her being shot. That seems such a major spoiler, so who knows if it bears out. We’ll just have to see, the show has surprised us again and again.

I started Amar a Muerte and like I’m so confused and it was only the first episode. Like I can’t tell if Lucía is our protagonist or a gold digging villain. It’s hard to tell since León was old, her young and she was sleeping with Johny. The upper class stuff seemed more interesting to me that the crime stuff. But I haven’t fallen for a character or ship like I do with other novelas.

Hahahah, Lucia is not like other protagonists. :D She is definitely not a good person but has a very tragic past. She is using Leon to have a bright future and she is Johnny’s (Leon’s right-hand man) accomplice. But things get better after Leon’s death. Tbh, I don’t like other plots in the show, the most exciting part is Leon/Jacobo’s revenge. This is just a telenovela, I don’t expect a very good developed story. I skip a lot of parts, especially Beltran’s story is too boring. But even though Lucia is an immoral character, Jacobo’s dilemmas and her regrets are very interesting to watch. :)

And the chemistry between the actors is super good. ;)
