Hawker Sea Fury | Classic Warbirds

The Sea Fury had its roots in the Hawker Tempest Mk III, which would become the Hawker Fury to meet Specification F.2/42, then to meet a revised Specification F.2/43. The Royal Navy were also interested in the aircraft and the design was modified to meet Royal Navy Specification N.7/43. Hawker would work on the Royal Air Force design, named the Fury, while Boulton Paul would work on the naval version, the Sea Fury.

Six prototypes had been ordered by the end of 1943, with one kept back to be used as a test airframe. Two would be powered by the Rolls-Royce Griffon engine, another two powered by the Bristol Centaurus XXII engine and the final prototype would have the Bristol Centaurus XII engine. The 1st September 1944 saw the first of the prototypes fly, when the Bristol Centaurus XII engined version made its first flight. This was followed a couple of months later by one of the Rolls-Royce Griffon powered prototypes which flew on the 27th November 1944, with a Napier Sabre VII engine replacing the Rolls-Royce Griffon fitted to the aircraft later on.

During April 1944 production contracts were placed for 200 Hawker Furys for the Royal Air Force and 200 Hawker Sea Furys for the Fleet Air Arm, of which Boulton Paul would build 100. As the Second World War (1939 – 1945) ended the RAF cancelled their order, but development of the Sea Fury carried on. The first Sea Fury prototype flew on the 21st February 1945 powered by the Bristol Centaurus XII engine and featured an arrester hook. It wouldn't be for another eight months until the first fully navalised Hawker Sea Fury prototype flew when, powered by a Bristol Centaurus XV engine, it took to the skies on the 12th October 1945.

During January 1945 the Boulton Paul contract for 100 Sea Furys had been cancelled which left 100 on order. Half of these were completed as Sea Fury Mk Xs, with the first example flying on the 7th September 1946, and the third aircraft was sent to HMS Victorious (R38) during late 1946, early 1947 for trials. Powered by the Bristol Centaurus 18 engine the Sea Fury Mk X had a top speed of 465 mph, range of 710 miles with a service ceiling of 36,000 ft. Armament was four 20mm cannons. The Sea Fury entered service in August 1947, when No. 803 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Canadian Navy received the type to replace their Supermarine Seafires, with Nos. 778 and 787 Naval Air Squadron of the Fleet Air Arm receiving theirs the next month.

The Sea Fury FB.11 was the next variant and was the most produced. Powered by a 2,480-hp Bristol Centaurus 18 engine, it had a top speed of 460 mph, range of 700 miles and a service ceiling of 35,800 ft. Armament consisted of four 20mm cannons, twelve 3-in rocket projectiles and 2,000lb bombs.

The Hawker Sea Fury, along with the Fairey Firefly, would provide the 'heavy attack' element for the Royal Navy and would be used during the Korean War (1950 – 1953) and a Sea Fury shot down a MiG-15 on the 9th August 1952. One of the few piston-engined aircraft to shoot down a jet aircraft.

By the time production ended 860 Hawker Sea Furys had been built and it was the last piston-engined fighter to serve with the Fleet Air Arm, staying in service until 1953. A number of aircraft were also converted to Sea Fury T.20 two-seater trainers during 1950.

Buruh yang tergabung dalam KSPI (Konfederasi Serikat Pekerja Indonesia) Jatim kembali ngeluruk ke Kantor Gubenur Jatim,  Gedung Negara Grahadi dan Pengadilan Negeri Surabaya, Rabu (8/12/2021). Demo buruh kali ini kaitannya dengan paska adanya Putusan Mahkamah Konstitusi No. 91/PUU-XVIII/2020 dalam perkara Pengujian Formil UU No. 11 Tahun 2020 tentang Cipta Kerja (UU Cipta Kerja) terhadap UUD RI 1945. Demo akan diikuti sebanyak 700 orang massa. Mereka datang dari Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Gresik, Mojokerto, Pasuruan, Probolinggo, Jember dan Tuban. Masa aksi mulai bergerak dari titik kumpul utama di depan Mall Royal Plaza menuju Pengadilan Negeri Surabaya sekitar pukul 11.00 WIB. Hiện nay vẫn rất nhiều người, đặc biệt là nam giới ngại tập cho thân dưới vì nhiều lý do như là tập chân sợ lùn, tập chân sợ mệt, tập chân sợ...to. Đủ các thể loại lý do để trốn tập chân. Nhưng bạn có biết là tập chân có nhiều lợi ích hơn là bạn nghĩ hay không ?

Nhiều huấn luyện viên thể hình thường khuyên các học viên của mình tập trung vào 1 số khu vực ở thân dưới như là cơ hông (với bài deadlift) hay là khớp gối (squat) và 1 số bài dạng bước như là lunge.

Đây là bài khởi đầu khá tốt cho việc tập luyện thân dưới nhưng nó không hoàn toàn đầy đủ cho 1 chương trình tập cho thân dưới đầy đủ.

Để thân dưới phát huy được sức mạnh tối đa thì bạn cần phải có thêm nhiều bài tập khác nữa.

1. Có bài tập mở rộng hông từ ngắn đến vừa

Squat, Deadlift, Lunge và những biến thể của chúng là những bài tập rất tốt cho cơ mông khi chúng ở 1 pham vi kéo dài nhưng nó lại không tốt khi ở phạm vi ngắn.

Nói cách khác thì Squat, Deadlift và Lunge tạo ra áp lực lớn cho các cơ hông và mông khi hông bạn uốn cong phần mông dưới nhưng có rất ích áp lực cho phần mông trên khi bạn mở rộng hông về vị trí cũ.

Vì sức mạnh chiếm vị trí quan trọng nên bạn cần phải thực hiện nhiều động tác cô lập (islation) như Hip Thrust, Reverse Hip Extension, Hip Lift, 45 Degree Hip Extension, 45 degree low cable RDL để tập cho cơ mông nhiều hơn trong các phạm vi ngắn khi mà hầu hết các bài tập như Squat, Deadlift và Lunge bỏ qua.

Vậy bạn sẽ nghĩ còn bài Cable Pull Throughs thì sao đúng không. Tất nhiên là bài tập này cũng tác đọng vào hông và mông của bạn nhưng do nó có cách tập không tự nhiên lắm và cũng không dễ tập với nhiều người nên tôi thích các bài ở trên hơn.

Với Cable Pull Throughs bạn không bị giới hạn về mức tạ bạn có thể kéo mà bạn bị giới hạn về khả năng giữ được bao lâu mà không bị kéo về sau, điều này liên quan đến trọng lượng cơ thể bạn nhiều hơn là sức mạnh của bạn.

2. Bài tập Hip Abduction và Hip Adduction

Phần lớn các bài tập dạng Hip Adduction như là Hip Thrust, Squat, Lateral Band Walk với 1 sợi dây co giãn ở giữa là một cách tập cho thân dưới hữu ích mà bạn nên áp dụng.

Các nghiên cứu với những người chơi Hockey chuyên nghiệp nhận thấy rằng nó có khả năng bị áp lực gấp 17 lần nếu sức mạnh của cơ đùi trong (adductor) thấp hơn 80% so với sức mạnh của cơ đùi ngoài. (1)

Một nghiên cứu khác cũng cho thấy rằng chấn thương ở háng có liên hệ mật thiết với sức mạnh của cơ đùi trong (2).

Nói cách khác, nếu bạn tập cho đùi trong mà không tập cho đùi ngoài và ngược lại thì nó sẽ tăng nguy cơ chấn thương hơn.

Đây là lý do trong các lịch tập gym bạn cần phải có những bài tập cho cả đùi trong và ngoài như là Seated Hip Adduction Machine, Standing Hip Adduction, Side Lying Hip Adduction, và Copenhagen Hip Adduction.

Bài tập Copenhagen hip adduction đã được chứng minh là một bài tập rất hiệu quả (3, 4) và nó cũng là bài tập yêu thích của tôi để đánh vào phần đùi trong. Dưới đây là cách thực hiện.

Một vài huấn luyện viên có thể muốn bạn thực hiện các bài đa khớp với 1 chân như là Wide Stance Squat, Lưng, Single Leg Squat để tập cho đùi trong. Tuy nhiên EMG cao nhất của Squat và Lưng, Single Leg Squat không cao bằng các bài tập kể trên. (5, 6). Do vậy các bài tập cô lập cho cơ đùi trong sẽ tối ưu hơn so với Squat và Lunge.

3. Bài tập duỗi đầu gối

Mỗi tuần, bao gồm các bài tập tập trung duỗi đầu gối như là Stability Ball Leg Curl (1 hoặc 2 chân). Nordic Hamstring Curl, Glute Hamstring Raise và Leg Curl Machine (ngồi hoặc nằm).

Một số nghiên cứu đã cho thấy chương trình tập sức mạnh có liên quan đế bài Nordic Hamstring Curl có thể làm giảm đáng cơ nguy cơ mắc bệnh về gân kheo (10, 11, 12).

Các nghiên cứu về bài Leg Curl cũng tương tự. Một nghiên cứ với các cầu thủ đá bóng chuyên nghiệp thì mặc dù 2 nhóm tập giống nhau nhưng nhóm được tập thêm các bài về đùi sau với Lying Hamstring Cirl Machine thì giúp họ tăng tốc chạy nhanh hơn cũng như là giảm nguy cơ chấn thương gân kheo tốt hơn (13).

Điều này cũng phù hợp với nghiên cứu khác về Lying Leg Curl (chuyển động từ khớp gối) đã tạo nên sự kích hoạt tốt hơn cho thân dưới so với bài Stiff Legged Deadlift hoặc Romanian Deadlift (chuyển động từ khớp hông) (14).

4. Bài tập mở rộng chân (Leg Extension)

Với những nghiên cứu ở trên thì các bài đơn khớp cũng cung cấp tích cực vào cải thiện hiệu suất và giảm nguy cơ chấn thương và còn nhiều thứ nữa.

Một chương trình tập cho thân dưới hiệu quả cần phải có 1 1 bài tập chuyển động ở khớp hông (như Deadlift) và 1 chuyển động ở khớp gối (Leg Curl). Điều này giúp cho các khu vực khác nhau, đặc biệt là đùi sau có thể nhắm được nhiều mục tiêu hơn vì mỗi bài tập sẽ bổ sung hiệu quả cho nhau.

Nghiên cứu cho thấy bài Leg Extension tạo ra nhiều sự kích hoạt hơn ở cơ rectus femoris so với tập Squat (15), đó có thể là lý do tại sao các nghiên cứu cho thấy cơ rectus femoris phát triển tốt hơn với những bài đơn khớp bằng tập mở rộng khớp gối hơn các bài cho cơ đùi trước.

Ngay cả không cần biết tới các nghiên cứu thì chúng ta cũng đủ biết các cơ bắp phản ứng (sức mạnh cải thiện) với việc chúng phải chịu áp lực. Đó là nguyên tắc cơ bản trong tập luyện.

Trong khi bạn xuống điểm thấp nhất khi Squat hoặc Lưng (khi cơ hông và gối đang ở vị trí co) thì cơ rectus femoris sx có gắn duỗi ở đầu gối nhưng sẽ ngắn lại ở phần hong và cuối cùng là giữ nguyên chiều dài.

Sau đó, khi bạn đứng lên (duỗi hông và đầu gối) thì cơ bắp lại cố gắng kéo ngắn lại ở đầu gối và kéo dài ở hông rồi cuối cùng là giữ nguyên chiều dài (17).

Nói cách khác thì để cải thiện sức mạnh của bạn trong các chuyển động như chống lại chuyển động tới trước, giảm tốc độ để đổi hướng hoặc xuống cầu thang, xuống dốc thì những bài như thế này sẽ là lựa chọn tuyệt vời cho những hành động như vậy.

Nhiều người không đồng ý về việc thực hiện các bài tập co duỗi ở gối ở người khỏe mạnh (không tính những người có vấn đề về khớp gối) là không có cơ sở và thiếu sự nhất quán về mặt logic (9).

Chưa kể là khi nói đến việc tnawg sức mạnh cho đùi trước, có vô số nghiên cứu cho thấy cơ đùi trước sẽ phát triển tốt hơn (ngay cả đối với người bị bệnh ACL) khi kết hợp với các bài tập  Leg extension cùng với Squat, và Lunge (18)

Yoga: It can help to tighten muscles which are controlling the urethral sphincter and it can provide benefits that are similar to Kegel exercises. We know that yoga is good for relaxation and it can give you a relief from depression and anxiety caused by urinary incontinence. There was one study which was done in 2014 and it was found that a six week yoga therapy program helped to control urinary incontinence in women who have stress incontinence [3]. Women who have taken part in this yoga program have said that they have experienced an overall 70% reduction in the frequency of urine leakage. To control the urine incontinence, you should try yoga poses like Squat Pose (Malasana), Triangle Pose (Trikonasana), Chair Pose (Utkatasana) and Root Lock (Mula bandha). Vitamin D: This vitamin can be used as natural treatment for urinary incontinence because it can help to maintain muscle strength. We will give you a simple way which can help you to locate your pelvic floor muscles: When you are emptying your bladder, you should stop urinating in midstream and then you should start again. You should steep two to three teaspoons of this herb in one cup of hot water for ten to fifteen minutes. You should strain it and drink this tea three times per day until you notice improvements. Apple cider vinegar: This home remedy works as an excellent tonic for your health. It can help to remove the toxins from your body and it will fight bladder infections. When you have excess weight, then it could lead to urinary incontinence because the fat which is around your hips and abdomen places extra pressure on your bladder. #onthisday in 1939 a Blackburn Skua of No. 803 Naval Air Squadron operating from HMS Ark Royal scored the Fleet Air Arm's first aerial victory of #worldwar2, shooting down a Dornier Do 18.

Responding to the release of Air Ministry specification O.27/34 which requested designs for a naval dive-bomber, Blackburn along with Avro, Boulton Paul, Hawker and Vickers all submitted designs, however it would be Blackburn's Skua design which would see service and two prototypes were ordered during April 1935. The Skua design was revolutionary for the Fleet Air Arm for as well as being the country's first naval dive-bomber it would also be the first carrier aircraft to be of monoplane design.

The Skua would have a two man crew and featured folding wings, back along the fuselage, and both prototypes would be powered by the 840-hp Bristol Mercury IX engine, with the 9th February 1937 seeing the maiden flight of the first prototype. Prior to this 190 aircraft had been ordered in July 1936 under Specification 25/36.

Before being sent to the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment at Martlesham Heath the Skua would make an appearance at the RAF Display, Hendon on the 26th June 1937 and then on the 28th June 1937 at Hatfield at the Society of British Aerospace Companies display. Early reports from the A&AEE gave promising feedback of the Skua's handling and after gunnery trials the aircraft was sent to Gosport for ditching trials. The 4th May 1938 would see the first flight of the second prototype. The two prototypes would be designated Skua Mk I.

The Skua was a year behind schedule and to help speed up the production process some of the work was sub-contracted and due to the Bristol Blenheim receiving priority on the Mercury engine the Skua would instead be powered by the 890-hp Bristol Perseus XII and the 190 aircraft ordered were known as Skua Mk IIs. The 28th August 1938 saw the first production Skua Mk II fly at Brough and had a few minor changes to its design.

The Blackburn Skua Mk II had a top speed of 225 mph, range of 760 miles with a service ceiling of 20,200 ft. Armament was four 0.303-in machine-guns with one rear firing Lewis gun. Bomb load was 500lb. The Skua Mk II would enter Fleet Air Arm service in November 1938 when No. 800 Naval Air Squadron received theirs whilst No. 803 Naval Air Squadron received theirs in December 1938 where they would replace Hawker Nimrods and Hawker Ospreys serving aboard HMS Ark Royal (91). They would be followed by No. 801 Naval Air Squadron and No. 806 Naval Air Squadron which was formed during February 1940. These four squadrons being the only frontline ones that would operate the type.

It was No. 803 Naval Air Squadron who scored the Fleet Air Arm's first aerial success during the Second World War (1939 - 1945) whilst operating from HMS Ark Royal (91) when on the 26th September 1939 just off Heligoland, Germany they shot down a Dornier Do 18. The Skua showed its potential in the dive-bombing role when sixteen from Nos. 800 and 803 Naval Air Squadron flying from RNAS Hatston attacked and sank the German cruiser Konigsberg on the 10th April 1940 at Bergen harbour, Norway. Although the mission saw the loss of one aircraft. The Skua would also be involved in the Battle of France (10th May 1940 - 25th June 1940) when on the 31st May 1940 No. 801 Naval Air Squadron Skuas attacked pontoon bridges over the Nieuwpoort-Dunkirk Canal, France.

No. 801 Naval Air Squadron based at RAF Detling also flew a number of sorties to support the evacuation of Allied troops from Dunkirk, France, Operation Dynamo (26th May 1940 - 4th June 1940), alongside the Blackburn Roc, however the Roc and Skua by this time were obsolete. Whilst the Skua could compete with Axis bombers it didn't stand a chance against the modern fighters and as a result was removed from frontline service in 1941. The squadrons that operated Skuas were given newer aircraft with the Fairey Fulmar equipping Nos. 800 and 806 Naval Air Squadron whilst the Hawker Sea Hurricane equipped Nos. 801 and 803 Naval Air Squadron. After this the aircraft would be used as a target tug or for training.

In total 192 Blackburn Skuas were built.

#onthisday in 1938 the first production Blackburn Skua Mk II flew at Brough.

The Skua Mk II had a top speed of 225 mph, range of 760 miles with a service ceiling of 20,200 ft.

Blackburn Skua

Responding to the release of Air Ministry specification O.27/34 which requested designs for a naval dive-bomber, Blackburn along with Avro, Boulton Paul, Hawker and Vickers all submitted designs, however it would be Blackburn's Skua design which would see service and two prototypes were ordered during April 1935. The Skua design was revolutionary for the Fleet Air Arm for as well as being the country's first naval dive-bomber it would also be the first carrier aircraft to be of monoplane design.

The Skua would have a two man crew and featured folding wings, back along the fuselage, and both prototypes would be powered by the 840-hp Bristol Mercury IX engine, with the 9th February 1937 seeing the maiden flight of the first prototype. Prior to this 190 aircraft had been ordered in July 1936 under Specification 25/36.

Before being sent to the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment at Martlesham Heath the Skua would make an appearance at the RAF Display, Hendon on the 26th June 1937 and then on the 28th June 1937 at Hatfield at the Society of British Aerospace Companies display. Early reports from the A&AEE gave promising feedback of the Skua's handling and after gunnery trials the aircraft was sent to Gosport for ditching trials. The 4th May 1938 would see the first flight of the second prototype. The two prototypes would be designated Skua Mk I.

The Skua was a year behind schedule and to help speed up the production process some of the work was sub-contracted and due to the Bristol Blenheim receiving priority on the Mercury engine the Skua would instead be powered by the 890-hp Bristol Perseus XII and the 190 aircraft ordered were known as Skua Mk IIs. The 28th August 1938 saw the first production Skua Mk II fly at Brough and had a few minor changes to its design.

The Blackburn Skua Mk II had a top speed of 225 mph, range of 760 miles with a service ceiling of 20,200 ft. Armament was four 0.303-in machine-guns with one rear firing Lewis gun. Bomb load was 500lb. The Skua Mk II would enter Fleet Air Arm service in November 1938 when No. 800 Naval Air Squadron received theirs whilst No. 803 Naval Air Squadron received theirs in December 1938 where they would replace Hawker Nimrods and Hawker Ospreys serving aboard HMS Ark Royal (91). They would be followed by No. 801 Naval Air Squadron and No. 806 Naval Air Squadron which was formed during February 1940. These four squadrons being the only front line ones that would operate the type.

It was No. 803 Naval Air Squadron who scored the Fleet Air Arm's first aerial success during the Second World War (1939 - 1945) whilst operating from HMS Ark Royal (91) when on the 26th September 1939 just off Heligoland, Germany they shot down a Dornier Do 18. The Skua showed its potential in the dive-bombing role when sixteen from Nos. 800 and 803 Naval Air Squadron flying from RNAS Hatston attacked and sank the German cruiser Konigsberg on the 10th April 1940 at Bergen harbour, Norway. Although the mission saw the loss of one aircraft. The Skua would also be involved in the Battle of France (10th May 1940 - 25th June 1940) when on the 31st May 1940 No. 801 Naval Air Squadron Skuas attacked pontoon bridges over the Nieuwpoort-Dunkirk Canal, France.

No. 801 Naval Air Squadron based at RAF Detling also flew a number of sorties to support the evacuation of Allied troops from Dunkirk, France, 'Operation Dynamo' (26th May 1940 - 4th June 1940), alongside the Blackburn Roc, however the Roc and Skua by this time were obsolete. Whilst the Skua could compete with Axis bombers it didn't stand a chance against the modern fighters and as a result was removed from front line service in 1941. The squadrons that operated Skuas were given newer aircraft with the Fairey Fulmar equipping Nos. 800 and 806 Naval Air Squadron whilst the Hawker Sea Hurricane equipped Nos. 801 and 803 Naval Air Squadron. After this the aircraft would be used as a target tug or for training.

In total 192 Blackburn Skuas were built.

The Seafire Mk. XV was the first Griffon-powered Seafire. It arrived too late for operational service in World War II, which was just as well as its deck handling characteristics were very bad indeed.

A total of 35 aircraft of this type served with the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). They were flown operationally by No. 803 Squadron (June 1945 – August 1947) and No. 883 Squadron (September 1945 – November 1947), but saw only limited service aboard HMCS Warrior before the type was restricted to operation from shore bases. Soon replaced by the Hawker Sea Fury, the Seafires were taken out of service and relegated to second-line duties. The last Canadian unit to fly Seafire Mk.XV’s was the Training Air Group, which grounded its surviving examples of this aircraft in the spring of 1949
